July 28, 2025

Complainant reported a criminal trespass on private property on CR 426. Deputy arrived and determined that the individual in question was a USDA employee conducting a compliance check.

Complainant on CR B made a fraud report on a missing check for payment. Report taken.

Motorist reported a suspicious male subject wearing jeans and a gray shirt waling on CR 309. Deputy arrived and determined that the individual was walking to the store. No offense.

SO Fayette County reported a suspect vehicle traveling northbound on Hwy 77 that was alleged to have been involved in a sexual assault in Victoria, TX. Sheriff and Constable Pct. 2 located and stopped the vehicle. The information was forwarded to authorities in Victoria County for follow-up investigation.

Caller reported a RV that was parked in the middle of CR 324. Deputy arrived and the owner was located for the RV to be removed.

Deputies conducted overnight security checks at businesses in the City of Lexington.

 

July 29, 2025

Deputies responded to a major crash involving an 18 wheeler rollover on FM 141. Dime Box and Giddings VFDs assisted at the scene with traffic control until TxDOT and a hazmat crew arrived to work the crude oil spill from the trailer. Crashed worked by DPS.

Deputy issued a citation to a motorist that drove around the barricades and blocking truck that was set up on FM 141 to divert traffic.

Sheriff and Deputies assisted Giddings PD and VFD with a reported gas leak in the 300 block of North Grimes Street.

Captain responded to a juvenile matter on Shady Oaks Street.

Deputies assisted Jail Staff with an inmate movement from separation to violent cell.

 

July 30, 2025

LCSO Deputies, Investigators, and Texas DPS Special Response Team executed a narcotics search and arrest warrant in the 900 block of N. Caldwell St. in Giddings. One male subject was arrested for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and secured in the Lee County Jail.

Sergeant conducted 68-A inspections.

Deputies responded to an address in the 1200 block of FM 696 West after a complainant reported hearing a male voice in the area of their barn. Deputies made a diligent search of the area but were unable to locate any evidence of trespassing.

 

July 31, 2025

Complainant reported a male subject on their property on PR 1012. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone.

Complainant reported a male subject that made threats on CR 118. Deputies responded to investigate and one male subject was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail.

Caller reported a hit-and-run collision on FM 141. The description of the 18 wheeler was provided and a report was generated.

Caller reported three men that got their truck/trailer stuck in a driveway, partially blocking the roadway on FM 1624. Deputy responded for traffic control until the roadway was cleared.

Deputies conducted warrant service in the 1000 block of Blaha Avenue. One female suspect was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail on two local warrants.

 

August 1, 2025

Deputy met with a complainant at the sheriff's office and took a report of harassment.

Deputy responded to a reported vehicle fire on CR 345.

Deputy assisted a motorist with a vehicle unlock in the 100 block of S. Madison Street.

Deputy responded to the 7300 block of FM 141 for a report of illegal dumping where a mattress was left on the side of the roadway.

Deputy conducted a requested welfare check in the 4200 block of FM 141.

Deputy responded to a large family argument in the 300 block of Clark Lane.

Convenience store clerk in Lexington reported minors attempting to get an adult to purchase alcoholic beverages for them. Deputy responded to investigate.

Deputies responded to a crisis intervention on CR 302.

 

August 2, 2025

Caller requested a Deputy patrol Hope Street due to their dogs barking after 2:00am. Deputy patrolled the area and no suspicious activity was found.

Deputies conducted traffic enforcement in the "S" curves in Dime Box. Citizens have reported 18 wheelers taking up both lanes. One driver was cited for failing to maintain a single lane.

Blue VFD and Deputy responded to a report of a truck/loaded hay trailer broken down on FM 696 West. Traffic control conducted until the vehicle could be cleared.

Sergeant responded to a reported gunshot in the 600 block of W. Independence St. The Deputy patrolled the area to assist as GPD was on other priority calls.

 

August 3, 2025

Complainant requested Deputies for a black truck that was driving repeatedly in the 400 block of Main St. in Lexington with the driver/occupant yelling obscenities. Deputy patrolled the area and located the vehicle, but no driver. Information collected.

Deputy assisted a stranded motorist on Hwy 290 East with a courtesy ride into Giddings.

After 2:00am, a Deputy attempted a traffic stop on a black truck for speeding on Hwy 77 in Lexington. The vehicle failed to yield to the emergency patrol vehicle and sped off at speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour. Additional Deputies and Constable Pct. 2 responded to assist in the pursuit. The vehicle finally stopped and the driver was arrested and secured in the Lee County Jail.

Deputy booked in a male subject that surrendered himself at the Lee County Jail on one local warrant and an out-of-county warrant. The local warrant stemmed from an assault that occurred at an establishment on CR 217 the weekend prior.

Deputy made a traffic stop on North Main Street and a subsequent probable cause search was conducted. The search yielded narcotics and one female was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail.

Caller from CR 113 reported a skunk in their attic. Deputy responded and determined the skunk was more than likely underneath the house. The caller was able to set a trap for the unwanted critter.

Deputy met with a concerned caller who reported a suspicious male subject on CR F.

 

For this reporting period, Lee County Deputies initiated 114 traffic enforcement stops, made 55 security checks, and responded to 10 animal/loose livestock calls.

 

We would like to remind everyone that our local schools will be back in swing soon. Please be mindful of school zones and buses loading/unloading. There is a zero-tolerance policy for traffic violations in school zones and for vehicles passing school buses when the red lights are activated.
