Summary: This position requires knowledge of Law Enforcement and clerical procedures. The individual has daily contact with the public. Work involves performing various duties related to the office, that may include personnel files, preparing routine correspondence, compiling information for reports, maintaining files of a variety of records, documents and correspondence. Employee must exercise independent judgement and initiative in completing assignments and keeping things running smoothly and with utmost discretion.
 
Eligibility: Applicant must be 21 years of age or older, a high school diploma or equivalent is required, and secretarial training is desirable. The individual should possess computer skills as well as a basic knowledge of clerical and law enforcement procedures and practices.
 
Salary: Commensurate with experience

 

 
Summary: The Deputy Sheriff requires a Peace Officer Certification through Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and requires thorough work knowing law enforcement procedures. The individual has daily contact with the public and is responsible for the preparation of office reports. Responds to delegation of duties from the Sheriff or his designee.
 
Eligibility: MUST possess a Peace Officer Certification from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE); High School diploma or equivalent and must be 21 years of age or older
 
Salary: Starting pay of $3,800 per month with certificate pay of $100 per month per certificate with max at $400 and $100 per month uniform allowance

 

 

FULL TIME 9-1-1 COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR / DISPATCHER 

Summary: The 9-1-1 Communications Operator/Dispatcher has a thorough working knowledge of dispatch and communications procedures, the individual has daily contact with the public, operates radio equipment, dispatches 911 calls and maintains communications records. May assist Communications supervisor with validations and operation of all equipment related to the job.

Eligibility: High School diploma or equivalent and must be 18 years of age or older; Telecommunication Certifications from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or the ability to successfully complete a Certification course within 12 months of hire

Salary Range: Starting pay of $17.00 per hour. Pay will be determined by experience.


 

 

FULL TIME CORRECTIONAL OFFICER / JAILER 

Summary: The Corrections Officer is primarily responsible for supervision on inmates within his/her assigned area, He/She will maintain order and security through fair and impartial application of Lee County Jail Policies and Procedures. He/She will maintain the highest level of security possible while ensuring safe and humane treatment of all inmates including the protection of their rights within the correctional setting. Reports to the Jail Administrator or Sheriff. 

Eligibility: High School diploma or equivalent and must be 18 years of age or older; Jailer Certifications from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or the ability to successfully complete a Certification course within 12 months of hire

Salary Range: $16 - $19.59 per hour. Pay will be determined by experience.
