February 23, 2026
Deputy checked on an abandoned vehicle in the 2700 block of E. SH 21. The vehicle was unoccupied and red-tagged for removal.
Deputy responded to CR 404 on a report of dogs at the bus stop.
Complainant reported criminal mischief in the 4000 block of SH 21. Deputy responded to investigate mailbox and fence damages. Close patrols in effect.
Deputy completed a welfare check on Westwood Lane.
Sheriff checked on a male subject that was causing a scene at a business in the 1400 block of E. Austin St.
Deputy assisted a motorist with a vehicle unlock on SH 21.
Deputy assisted a motorist with a tire change at US 77/SH 21.
Deputies responded to a reported verbal disturbance on Hester Street.
Complainant met with a Deputy to report a theft of a wallet. Report taken.
February 24, 2026
Sheriff completed a welfare check in the 5000 block of E. US 290.
Sergeant conducted multiple sex offender registry requirement checks with the Texas DPS Sex Offender Compliance Unit.
Deputy conducted traffic enforcement on FM 1697 after receiving complaints.
Deputy checked on a male subject on CR 329.
While conducting a routine security check in Lexington at 3:00 a.m., a diligent Deputy found an open door. The building was cleared and then secured by the keyholder.
February 25, 2026
LCSO units, Pct. 2 Constable, Giddings Police, and Troopers participated in lockdown drills at all GISD campuses.
Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle parked off of CR 302. Deputy responded and determined that the unoccupied vehicle was reported to be stolen by Austin PD. The vehicle was towed and the matter is under further investigation.
Complainant reported being threatened by an unknown caller. It was determined to be a scam call where the caller had claimed that someone missed jury duty.
Sergeant conducted multiple 68-A inspections at the sheriff's office.
Deputy met with a complainant to take a fraud report.
Deputy met with a complainant on PR 1807 to take a report of illegal dumping.
Complainant made a report of animal cruelty on CR 223. Deputy responded to investigate and generate report for further action.
Motorists reported a female walking in the road on FM 1624 at SH 21. Deputies transported the female for medical evaluation before transporting to the Lee County Jail.
Deputy met with a complainant to take a fraud report.
Complainant made a report of animal cruelty on CR 405. Deputy responded to investigate.
February 26, 2026
Deputy conducted traffic enforcement on FM 141 after receiving complaints.
Deputy completed a requested welfare check on FM 141.
Deputy spoke with a complainant in regards to a fraud concern.
Deputy stopped and cited a speeding violator for 104/70 mph zone on N. US 77.
Deputies assisted Giddings PD with loose livestock at Veteran's Park.
February 27, 2026
Caller reported suspicious circumstances on Cherry Drive at 4:30 a.m. Deputy made contact with the individual who was waiting on a wrecker.
Deputy spoke with a complainant in regards to a fraud report.
Deputy completed a requested welfare check on CR 450.
Deputies completed a warrant service on CR 125. One male subject was arrested on an out-of-county warrant and booked into the Lee County Jail.
Deputy met with a complainant at the sheriff's office to take a report of stolen property. Active investigation.
Deputy stopped and cited a speeding violator for 91/60 mph zone on W. US 290.
Deputy initiated a traffic stop on FM 180. One male subject was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail.
Caller reported a suspicious male subject in a gray suburban that quickly drove off from CR 316. Deputy located the vehicle in question due to the citizen getting the license plate number. No offense committed.
Sheriff received complaints of motorists passing the school bus on W. US 290 during the afternoon stops. Our deputies observed multiple violations and issued multiple citations.
Deputy dispatched a deer that had been hit by a vehicle on FM 141.
Deputy and Giddings VFD responded to a burn ban violation on CR 230.
Deputy checked on a suspicious vehicle parked in the 600 block of N. Rockdale St.
Deputy shut down traffic to help push a disabled vehicle off of the roadway on E. US 290.
February 28, 2026
While on a security check on CR 402, a citizen met with the Deputy to report possible theft from their mailbox. Close patrols in effect.
Deputy responded to the 3200 block of SH 21 to investigate property damage to a vehicle.
Deputies assisted with a funeral escort.
Deputy conducted traffic enforcement in the 11000 block of N. US Hwy 77.
Deputy stopped and cited a speeding violator for 93/75 mph zone at US 290/FM 180.
Deputy checked on a suspicious circumstance on CR 327.
Deputies responded to a crisis intervention call on CR 123.
Deputy stopped and cited a speeding violator for 97/60 mph zone on E. US Hwy 290.
Deputy received a report from another LE agency of a domestic disturbance. Active investigation.
March 1, 2026
Deputies assisted at the scene of a major crash at SH 21/FM 3403.
Deputy assisted at the scene of a fire on CR 324. A tire blow out caused the fire.
Deputy conducted a follow-up investigation on a theft case.
Deputy removed roadway debris on N. US Hwy 77.
911 caller reported a reckless driver on E. US Hwy 290. Sergeant conducted a roadside investigation and the driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail.
For this reporting period, Lee County Deputies initiated 149 traffic enforcement stops, made 134 security checks, and responded to 25 animal/loose livestock calls.
