Narcotics Arrest at Lee County Fair

On Saturday May 17, 2025 at approximately 8:00pm, Lee County Sheriff's Deputies were notified of a suspicious male subject who was reported to have been offering money to children in the carnival during the Lee County Fair.

 

Deputies located the described male subject in the parking lot who was identified as:

"Michael Esparza" 30 years old - Austin, TX

 

Deputies immediately determined that Esparza was intoxicated, due to several factors such as: slurred speech, having fallen in the parking lot, and having urinated himself. Deputies began to place Esparza under arrest for Public Intoxication, at which time he resisted arrest.

 

Deputies effected the arrest, and a subsequent search of Esparza's person revealed numerous small baggies containing a white powdery substance, believed to be Cocaine.

 

Esparza was transported and booked into the Lee County Jail on the following charges:

  • Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1, 4G<200G (Drug Free Zone) 1st Degree Felony
  • Possession of Controlled Substance PG 2, <1G (Drug Free Zone) 3rd Degree Felony
  • Resisting Arrest/Transport Class "A" Misdemeanor
  • Public Intoxication Class "C" Misdemeanor
