LEE COUNTY ANNUAL JAIL INSPECTION

Lee County, Texas - On Jan. 22, 2026, an Inspector with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards made an un-announced visit for the annual inspection of the Lee County Jail.

At the conclusion of the inspection, the Inspector reported to Sheriff Durrenberger and County Judge Frank Malinak III that the Lee County Jail passed inspection by meeting the established criteria; with no corrective action items.

The inspector commented on the jail cleanliness, good stewardship, and positive morale of the jail staff and inmates.

"We have a general rule here that every day is a jail inspection day. This is a credit to our dedicated jail command, supervisors, and staff that strive for success on each shift."
