Dime Box Man Arrested on Outstanding Fayette County Warrant

On August 15, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a Lee County Sheriff's Office Deputy observed a black Chevrolet pickup truck parked at a convenience store in Giddings. The vehicle displayed a Texas license plate that had been expired since July 31, 2025, and insurance could not be confirmed.

 

The Deputy recognized the driver, identified as Tyrese Ja Micheal Patterson of Dime Box, from previous law enforcement encounters. The Deputy observed Patterson move the vehicle from the parking area to the fuel pumps. Due to the observed violations occurring in a private parking lot, the Deputy waited to see if Patterson operated the vehicle on a public roadway before conducting a traffic stop.

 

During this time, Deputies conducted a records check through the Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC) and discovered that Patterson had an active warrant out of Fayette County for Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport. Lee County Communications subsequently conducted an independent TCIC check and confirmed the warrant.

 

Deputies maintained visual contact with Patterson as he left the gas station. A traffic stop was initiated, and the vehicle pulled into an apartment complex.

 

The vehicle contained a total of four occupants, including Patterson, who was the driver. Patterson was advised he had an outstanding warrant, was removed from the vehicle, and placed into custody without incident.

 

During the investigation, Deputies observed multiple open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle. The remaining occupants were removed from the vehicle for the duration of the investigation. After Deputies determined they were no longer needed at the scene, the occupants were released.

 

 

Patterson was transported to the Lee County Jail, where he was accepted into custody without further incident. Since the vehicle did not have confirmed financial responsibility, it was not permitted to continue operating on the roadway. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene.

 

In addition to the outstanding warrant, Patterson was issued citations for:

  • Texas Transportation Code §601.191 - Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility
  • Texas Transportation Code §502.407 - Display of Expired License Plate
  • Texas Penal Code §49.031 - Open Container in Motor Vehicle

 

The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
