January 9 - January 15, 2023

 

January 9, 2023

02:13 - Cpl. West located a black calf out on FM 696 east. The calf was secured off the roadway.

02:36 - Sgt. Young and Deputy Rodriguez located loose livestock on CR 217. The livestock were secured off the roadway.

04:32 - A call was received of a motorist broken down on US 77 near CR 410. Sgt. Young and Deputy Rodriguez responded and gave the motorist a ride to Rockdale.

07:00 - A subject came to the Lee County Sheriff's Office to submit statement and copies of serial numbers for stolen guns.  Sgt. Young took possession of the documents.

09:32 - A caller reported cattle out on US 77.  Sgt. Jones, Deputy E. Hilmo, and Deputy Turner all responded and secured the cattle off the roadway. 

12:11 - A welfare check was requested near CR 305.  Deputy Webber and Precinct 3 Constable Stephens responded.  The subject was located and reported having telephone issues.

14:24 - A call was received from the Precinct #1 barn near FM 141 advising of a suspicious subject seen on the property.  Deputy Turner responded and checked area.  There was no suspicious person located.

16:20 - A caller reported cattle out on SH 21 near CR 327. Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo responded.  No cattle were located in the area.

16:24 - A caller requested a welfare check on a subject travelling eastbound on FM 696 in a wheelchair.  Deputy Turner checked the area and was unable to locate anyone on the roadway in a wheelchair.

17:34 - Deputy Dudley attempted to serve civil paperwork on N. Williamson Street.  Respondent was not located.

18:03 - A subject arrived at the Lee County Sheriff's Office to update information on the Sex Offender Registry.  Information was taken by Sgt. Holloway to complete the update. 

18:18 - While on patrol, Deputy Dudley reported a possible fire near Westwood Lane.  Sgt. Holloway and Giddings Volunteer Fire Department responded.  The fire, which was located off CR 205, was extinguished by Giddings VFD.  Sgt. Holloway periodically checked the area throughout the evening to ensure the fire did not reignite. 

20:46 - A call was received from Bastrop County requesting a welfare check on a subject on CR B in Lexington. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded. The subject was located. All was okay.

 

January 10, 2023

01:07 - A caller reported cattle out on SH 21 at US 77.  Deputy Dudley responded.  The cattle were secured back on property at CR 440 and SH 21.

02:23 - Several 911 hang up calls were received from a location off FM 1697. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded and met with a complainant regarding property concerns.

08:00 - A caller reported a vehicle/deer crash on SH21 near Manheim.  No injuries and no damage reported. Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and removed the deer from roadway.

08:04 - While on patrol, Deputy E. Hilmo located an abandoned vehicle on SH 21 at FM 2440.  The vehicle was found secured and off the roadway. 

11:00 - Giddings Police Department reported a vehicle/motorcycle crash on Austin Street.  Deputy Turner, Deputy Dickerson, Giddings Volunteer Fire Department and EMS responded.  One subject was transported by EMS.

13:10 - A subject requested a deputy standby while property was obtained on FM 1697.  Deputy Dickerson responded for civil standby.

14:15 - A caller requested a welfare check on a subject living off CR 127.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and met with the persons at the residence where a report was taken. While at the residence, additional information was obtained and relayed to the Giddings Police Department for an additional report and welfare check.

16:02 - A caller reported cattle out on SH 21 near CR 327. Deputy Turner responded.  Upon arrival, the owner was on scene securing the cattle off of the roadway.

18:23 - A caller requested a welfare check on a subject walking along CR 133.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded and made contact with the subject.  The subject was walking home from work.

18:15 -Deputy Dudley completed civil service on Williamson Street. 

19:29 - A 911 call was received from a complainant reporting being assaulted and damage done to property on CR 329.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  The aggressor was located on the property and was arrested, transported, and booked into the Lee County Jail for Assault Family Violence.  

20:37 - A caller requested a welfare check on a subject on CR 309.  Sgt. Holloway responded.  The subject was located and did not need assistance.  

 

January 11, 2023

02:03 - Deputy Dudley located an abandoned vehicle, and was found to be secured and off the roadway.  Deputy Dudley red tagged the vehicle.

03:50 - A stranded motorist requested assistance on US 290 near CR 233.  Sgt. Holloway responded and gave the stranded motorist a courtesy ride to CEFCO to purchase gas.

04:37 - A caller reported a one vehicle crash on US 77 North near CR 438.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Tanglewood VFD, and EMS responded.  The vehicle was towed.

04:40 - ADT Security contacted the Sheriff's Office for an alarm on CR 235.  Sgt. Holloway responded after clearing the crash scene and found all to be secure.

09:43 - Sgt. Strouth conducted a follow-up on an investigation off FM 141.  Investigation is on-going.

09:58 - A 911 call was received reporting a two vehicle crash on SH 21 in Dime Box.  All Lee County Sheriff's Deputies on duty, Dime Box VFD, and EMS responded.  One vehicle was towed. No injuries were reported.

11:33 - A caller reported finding lost property near a residence on FM 141 which had possibly fallen off a vehicle passing by.  Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Hilmo responded.  The owner's name was located on the lost property.  The property was returned to the owner. 

12:17 - A call was received reporting a stranded motorist on US 77 near the Giddings High School.  Deputy J. Brown responded and located vehicle blocking the roadway.  Deputy Brown assisted with traffic control until a wrecker arrived.

12:55 - Sgt. Strouth conducted a follow-up on an investigation on CR 103.  Investigation is on-going.

14:29 - All Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies on duty assisted with warrant execution on FM 448.  The wanted subject was located, arrested, transported, and booked into the Lee County Jail on the warrants.

16:16 - A caller reported a broken window at a residence in Dime Box.  Deputy Haman made contact with the caller over the phone and will complete a follow-up on the incident the following day. 

18:13 - Cpl. West checked out on CR 439 for civil service.  Civil papers were served.

18:51 - While on patrol, Cpl. West located debris in the roadway on FM 141 near CR 121.  Cpl. West removed the debris from the roadway.

21:38 - Cpl. West assisted a stranded motorist on SH 21 near US 77. The vehicle was repaired and back on the roadway.  

22:19 - Cpl. West assisted a motorist with changing a tire at Bubba's Truck Stop on SH 21.

22:35 - Sgt. Young made contact with a subject walking in the roadway on FM 141 just south of SH 21.   Subject was advised not to walk in the roadway. 

   

January 12, 2023

02:56 - A caller reported a single vehicle crash on US 77 near CR 405 with no injuries.  Cpl. West and Sgt. Young responded.  A crash report was taken.  The vehicle was towed and the driver was given a courtesy ride to Camp Swift in Bastrop County.

07:50 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on CR C in Blue.  Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Hilmo responded and searched the area.  The suspicious vehicle was not located. 

08:11 - A caller reported a horse near the roadway on CR 302 near County Line Road.  Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Hilmo responded.  The horse was located in a wooded area off the roadway.

08:44 - A complainant came to the Lee County Sheriff's Office to report two horses on his property belonging to someone else.  Sgt. Ray met with the complainant and took a report.

09:25 - A caller reported cattle out on FM 3403 near CR 446.  Deputy J. Brown responded.  The cattle were secured off the roadway.  A message was left for the owner regarding the loose cattle.

09:59 - Sgt. Strouth attempted additional follow-up on an investigation on CR 103.  Sgt. Strouth was unable to make contact with the subject.

10:49 - While on patrol, Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Hilmo located a construction sign which had been knocked down on FM 696 West.  The sign was placed upright.

12:52 - A caller reported a possible abandoned travel trailer off SH 21 in Dime Box.  Sgt. Strouth and Deputy L. Brown responded.  The owner of the travel trailer was located who advised the travel trailer was broken down and is to be repaired as soon as possible. The property owner was notified and made aware of the situation. 

14:01 - Deputy J. Brown located debris in the roadway on CR 401 near CR 405.  The debris was removed from the roadway.

14:06 - Sgt. Strouth made contact with a subject on CR 103 for a follow-up investigation.  Investigation is on-going.

15:00 - Deputy J. Brown served civil papers to an inmate at the Lee County Jail.

16:02 - A caller requested unwanted subjects be removed from property on US 77 near SH 21.  Capt. Allen and Sgt. Strouth responded.  One subject was found to have an active warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail. The other subjects were issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for the property.

16:04 - Several 911 calls were received reporting a three vehicle traffic crash on Seventh Street in Lexington.  Deputy J. Brown, Deputy Haman, and Deputy J. Hilmo responded along with Lexington VFD, and EMS. 

17:52 - A caller reported cattle in the roadway on FM 141 near the Nails Creek bridge.  Deputy J. Brown responded.  Deputy J. Brown searched the area and no cattle were located on roadway right of way.

18:29 - A caller reported a stolen trailer from a property on Walch Lane in Lexington. Cpl. West responded and took information for a report.  The investigation is on-going.

23:40 - A caller reported a suspicious subject at the CEFCO in Lexington. Deputy Young responded and made contact with the reported subject.  Deputy Young assisted in escorting the subject to a residence in Lexington.

 

January 13, 2023

04:19 - A caller reported a horse in the roadway on US 77 near SH 21.  Cpl. West responded and located the horse where it was secured inside a fence off the roadway.

06:57 - While on patrol Deputy E. Hilmo located cattle in the roadway on FM 141.  The cattle were secured off the roadway in a pasture.

09:18 - A welfare check was completed on Seventh Street in Lexington.  The subject was located.  All was okay.

09:24 - A caller reported being notified by a security alarm company of an alarm on CR 118 near Giddings.  Deputy Turner responded.  The caller notified the Lee County Sheriff's Office that the alarm was a false alarm set off by cleaning crew.   Deputy Turner was cancelled prior to arriving on scene.

10:42 - A 911 call was received on Railroad Street in Giddings.  Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Turner, Giddings PD, and EMS responded.  The subject was transported by EMS. 

12:07 - Deputy E. Hilmo and Sgt. Jones conducted a traffic stop on US 290 west of Giddings. The driver was arrest, transported, and booked into the Lee County Jail.

14:12 - A caller reported a two vehicle traffic crash on US 77 near CR 405.  Deputy Turner, Lexington PD, Lexington VFD, and EMS responded.

14:12 - Deputy Dickerson assisted DPS with a traffic stop. Two subjects were arrested, transported and booked into the Lee County Jail for possession of marijuana.  

15:16 - A caller reported cattle out on FM 3403.  Deputy Turner responded. The cattle were secured off the roadway in a pasture. 

17:41 - The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported a vehicle involved in a hit and run possibly travelling on US 290 into Lee County.  All Lee County Deputies on duty searched for the suspect vehicle along US 290 and were unable to locate the vehicle.

18:18 - A caller reported a stranded motorist in a parking lot on US 77.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  The subject was located and transported to a local hotel until either being picked up or having the vehicle repaired the next day. 

19:26 - Deputy Dudley checked out on Williamson Street to serve civil paperwork.  The party was not home for service.

21:40 - A caller requested a close patrol of a residence in Lexington.  Sgt. Holloway made contact with the caller and took information for patrol.

23:21 - A caller reported a single vehicle crash on CR 217.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  The driver was arrested, transported, and booked into the Lee County Jail for DWI.  The vehicle was towed.

 

January 14, 2023

06:10 - A caller reported a one vehicle traffic crash on CR 113 near SH 21.  Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Turner, Deputy E. Hilmo, Giddings Fire Department, and EMS responded.  The driver refused EMS treatment. A crash report was taken.

08:25 - A 911 call was received reporting a disturbance on CR 326.  Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Turner, Deputy E. Hilmo, and DPS responded.  The subjects were separated and one subject left the residence.  

12:22 - A caller reported a welfare check on a subject walking along US 77 south of Giddings.  Deputy Turner responded and located the subject.   The subject was given a courtesy to the Caldwell area.

11:53 - A caller reported damage to an entrance gate on CR 117.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo responded.  A report was taken. The investigation is on-going.

18:15 - A caller reported cattle in the roadway on CR 430. Sgt. Holloway responded and was unable to locate the cattle.

18:29 - A respondent called advising Deputy Dudley had previously attempting to serve civil papers at their location.  The respondent advised of now being home for civil paperwork. Deputy Dudley went to the residence and was unable to make contact.

19:51 - Sgt. Holloway completed a close patrol request at a location in Lexington. 

20:34 - A caller reported suspicious activity at a property on CR 412 with possible lights shining from the property.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  The residence and additional buildings were checked.  No signs of trespassing or forced entry were located. 

21:47 - A caller reported a noise complaint on Meadow Run Drive.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  A small gathering was located in the area.  The noise level had been reduced prior to officers' upon arrival.

23:33 - A caller reported a one vehicle crash on CR 219 near CR 220.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  The vehicle was located abandoned.  The driver of the vehicle was later located and came to the Lee County Sheriff's Office to complete a crash report.

 

January 15, 2023

09:44 - A caller reported cattle in the roadway on FM 696 West.  Deputy Dickerson responded and searched the area.  No loose cattle were located.

09:50 - A caller reported a stranded motorist blocking a lane of traffic on US 290 West near CR 205.  Deputy Turner responded and provided traffic control.  The driver of the vehicle was able to safely change the tire and resume travel.

10:36 - DPS notified the Lee County Sheriff's Office of a pursuit involving a motorcycle leaving Fayette County and entering Lee County.  Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Turner assisted with the pursuit to the Washington County line.  The pursuit ended when the motorcycle was crashed in Harris County.

11:08 - A caller reported vehicles parked along the roadway on FM 141 causing traffic issues.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and upon arrival advised the roadway was now clear.

13:41 - A caller reported several horses out on CR 180 near FM 1697.  Deputy Turner and Deputy Dickerson located and secured the horses behind a gate. 

14:48 - A caller reported having issues with a neighbor's dogs on US 77.  The dogs are reported as being aggressive and attempting to attack the complainant's pets. Deputy Dickerson responded and was unable to make contact with the owners of the aggressive dogs.  Deputy Dickerson will be following-up with the owners of the aggressive dogs at a later time.

17:50 - Deputy Dudley assisted Giddings PD with a disturbance on Dallas Street.

18:02 - A caller reported cattle loose at a residence off CR 430.  Sgt. Holloway responded and will be attempting to locate the owner of the livestock.

18:05 - A caller reported possible criminal mischief to a gas line on FM 141.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded and met with the complainant.

21:54 - A caller reported an unwanted subject at a residence on FM 3403.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded and issued a criminal trespass warning to the unwanted subject. 

23:48 - A 911 call was received with no communication coming through the phone line on CR 430.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  Contact was made with a subject at the residence who advised 911 was dialed in error.
