December 26, 2022 - January 1, 2023

 

 December 26, 2022

03:11 - Deputy Haman cleared debris from SH 21 near the County Line.

06:59 - A 911 call was transferred from Bastrop County regarding an assault that occurred on Deer Valley Drive.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Rodriguez, and Deputy Dudley responded to the scene.  Upon arrival it was found the aggressor had left area prior to deputies' arrival.  The victim was taken to a safe location. The investigation is on-going.

08:35 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez completed the transport of an inmate from Rockdale Police Department to the Lee County Jail. 

12:45 - A call was received requesting a welfare check on a relative off FM 696 East.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Rodriguez, and Deputy Dudley made contact with the subject.  The initial caller was notified that the subject was okay.

13:18 - A caller reported a reckless driver on FM 696 West heading eastbound near CR 306.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez checked area.  The reckless vehicle was unable to be located.

16:02- Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez completed follow-up report on CR 452.

17:39 - A call was received reporting a stolen vehicle out of Dallas that was being tracked and reportedly located in the City of Lexington.  Deputy Rodriguez checked the area given by the reporting party.  No vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle was located in the area.

19:25 - Sgt. Jones attempted warrant service.  The wanted subject was unable to be located.

21:12 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on private property.   Sgt. Jones and Deputy Dickerson checked the property and area but were unable to locate the suspicious vehicle.

 

December 27, 2022

01:45 - A 911 hang-up call was received from a location off US 77.  Several attempts were made to call the 911 caller back with no answer.  Deputy Dickerson responded to the residence and made contact with a subject at the residence who advised it was an accidental dial.

02:12 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on US 290 near the east city limits of Giddings.  Deputy Dickerson, assisted by Sgt. Jones and Giddings PD completed search of vehicle.  Both the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of narcotics and transported to the Lee County Jail.  The vehicle was seized and towed to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The investigation is on-going.

07:11 - A caller reporting hitting a dear on FM 696 East between CR 406 and CR 401.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded to crash scene to take crash report.  The vehicle was towed. 

10:10 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez attempted to serve civil papers on FM 3403.  Deputies were unable to locate respondent.

10:30 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez attempted to serve civil papers on CR 408. No contact was made. 

10:40 - A 911 call was received reporting an assault and property damage off CR 430.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Rodriguez, and Deputy Dudley responded.  The aggressor left the scene prior to the deputies' arrival and was unable to be located.  The investigation is on-going.  

13:38 - A caller reported illegal dumping on CR 118. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded to the location.  The Precinct 1 Commissioner was contacted regarding the trash removal.

13:38 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez were requested at the Sheriff's Office to meet with a complainant to issue a criminal trespass warning for previous incident occurring on CR 430.

15:15 - Lt. Adams met with a complainant at the Lee County Sheriff's Office regarding criminal trespass and a possible civil matter.

17:05 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez were requested by the Lee County Jail to transport an inmate from Lee County jail to St. Mark's Hospital.  EMS responded to the jail at the request of Sgt. Holloway and transported the inmate to St. Mark's Hospital.

20:24 - A caller reported cattle out on CR 118.  Deputy Turner responded.  The owner of the cattle arrived on scene and the cattle were secured back in the pasture. 

22:25 - A call was received from an alarm security company reporting a residential burglary alarm on Rockdale Street in Lexington.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy Turner responded.  The residence was checked.  No forced entry and no suspicious persons located at the residence.  

 

December 28, 2022

07:50 - A caller reported a large metal object in the inside lane of US 290 West.  Deputy Webber responded and removed debris from the roadway. 

08:20 - Sgt. Young completed serving civil papers on CR 327.

09:24 - Sgt. Young conducted an investigative follow-up on CR 308.

09:35 - Corporal West attempted to serve civil papers on CR 439.  No contact was made with respondent.

10:05 - All Lee County Sheriff's Department Deputies responded to FM 141 for fugitive warrant execution.  A male subject was taken into custody, transported to the Lee County Jail, and booked into jail on 2 warrants. 

11:04 - A caller reported a dog on the neighbor's property on CR 113 which had possibly been shot.  Sgt. Young and Deputy E. Hilmo located the dog.  The dog was suffering from a gunshot wound.  The dog was put down due to suffering.  

13:15 - Capt. Mastronardi and Lt. Adams responded to CR 226 for a warrant execution. One subject was taken into custody, transported to the Lee County Jail, and booked into jail on a warrant. 

16:35 - Corporal West and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to the Probation Office for a warrant execution.  One subject was taken into custody, transported to the Lee County Jail, and booked into jail on 1 warrant.

17:00 - A caller requested a deputy assist in diverting traffic on SH 21 while a tire was changed on a stranded vehicle.  Sgt. Young responded.

18:11 - Fayette County reported receiving a 911 call of a possible disturbance on CR 127. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy J. Brown, and Deputy Haman responded to the location. The disturbance was verbal only and all parties were separated. 

20:10 - A caller reported suspicious subjects on CR 234.  Deputy J. Brown responded and checked the area.  No subjects were located in the area. 

20:25 - A caller reported a possible assault on Rockdale Street in Lexington.  All deputies on duty responded.  Upon arrival, the aggressor was no longer at the scene.  The investigation is on-going.

20:27 - Deputy J. Brown checked on a parked vehicle on CR 235.  All appeared okay. 

21:55 A caller reported a verbal disturbance on US 77 North at the CEFCO parking. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded. All parties were separated with a report was taken. 

22:35 - A call was received from a security company advising an emergency button was activated on CR 326.  Deputy Haman, Deputy J. Brown, and DPS responded and met with the driver of the vehicle who had pressed the emergency button.  The driver advised he had been forced to drive 2 male subjects to the area at CR 326 and dropped them off.  The area was checked and the deputies were unable to locate the 2 male subjects.  Investigation is on-going. 

 

December 29, 2022

03:46 - A call was received requesting EMS respond to US 290 West for a subject having difficulty breathing.  Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded to assist EMS.  The subject was transported by EMS to the hospital.

07:21 - A caller reported suspicious activity regarding the purchase of a dog.  Sgt. Young talked to caller.  The investigation is on-going.

09:55 - Criminal Mischief to a mailbox was reported on FM 696 West.  Corporal West and Deputy J. Hilmo responded.  A reported was taken for criminal mischief. The investigation is on-going.

10:05 - A caller requested to speak with a deputy regarding a follow-up on a call to CR 127 the previous night.  Sgt. Young made contact with caller.

11:45 - A caller requested a welfare check on a subject walking along FM 141, just south of CR 116.  Sgt. Young responded and located a male subject.  The male subject was given a courtesy ride into Giddings. 

13:54 - A caller reported a possible disturbance on FM 180.  All Deputies on duty responded.  All parties involved were separated.  

14:33 - A caller reported a wanted subject was in Lexington at a residence on Rockdale St. All Deputies on duty and Lexington PD responded.  The subject was taken into custody, transported to the Lee County Jail, and booked into jail on the active warrant. 

16:08 - A caller reported 4 loose horses on their property on CR 116.  Corporal West and Deputy J. Hilmo responded and secured the horses back on the property of the owner of the horses.

18:30 - A caller reported missing cattle off FM 696.  Deputy J. Brown took a report.  The investigation is on-going.

20:42 - A caller reported the sound of gunfire in the area of FM 696 West.  Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown checked the area and were unable to locate any further gunfire or suspicious activity.

21:01 - A caller reported a truck tractor semi-trailer travelling westbound on SH 21 near CR 449 with no trailer lights.  Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Hilmo responded, checked area to the County line, and was unable to locate the truck tractor semi-trailer. 

21:21 - Deputy Haman checked on a broken down semi-truck and trailer on US 77 just South of SH 21.  The semi was repaired and left the area.

 

December 30,2022

00:37 - A 911 call was received reporting an assault occurred on S. Williams Ave.  All Deputies on duty, Giddings PD, and EMS responded. The aggressor was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail.  The victim was transported to the hospital.  The investigation is on-going.

03:44 - Sgt. Strouth checked on a vehicle parked off of the roadway on US 77.  Driver had pulled over due to hazardous weather only.  

04:04 - A male subject came into the Lee County Sheriff's Office to turn himself in on a warrant. Deputy Haman responded and booked the subject into the Lee County Jail on the active warrant. 

08:30 - While patrolling CR 430, Deputy Dudley came across several cattle out and near the roadway.  The cattle were removed from the roadway.

09:23 - An abandoned vehicle was located on US 77.  The vehicle was red tagged by Deputy Dudley.

09:52 - A criminal trespass warning was issued on a subject for a residence on CR 135.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded.  The deputies took additional information for an on-going case and issued a criminal trespass warning to the subject.

10:40 - Deputy Dudley attempted to serve civil papers on Williamson Street.  No contact was made. 

11:50 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez assisted Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home with a funeral escort in the Lexington area.

12:22 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez attempted to serve civil papers on FM 112.  No contact was made.

17:04 - Deputy Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez completed a welfare check on FM 141.  Subject was located okay.

19:51 - A car fire was reported in front of the Lee County VFD on FM 448. Lee County VFD responded and the fire was put out. Deputy Dickerson responded and took a report.

20:11 - A 911 call was received reporting a verbal disturbance on CR 111.  Sgt. Jones responded and talked to all parties involved.  All was okay.  

 

December 31, 2022

00:21 - An abandoned vehicle was located on US 77 North.  Deputy Turner checked the vehicle.  The vehicle was found secured and off the roadway.  

01:15 - A 911 call was received reporting a noise complaint on FM 1624.  Sgt. Jones responded.  Sgt. Jones made contact with the subjects who advised the party was over and its attendees were leaving. 

01:22 - A 911 call was received reporting an unwanted subject at a residence on Kay Street.  Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Turner and DPS responded.  The unwanted subject was gone from the residence upon arrival. 

07:59 - A call was received reporting a subject being bitten by a dog while walking on CR 404.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded.  The owner of the dogs was located and was asked to secure all the owned dogs on the property. All dogs were secured by the owner. 

11:06 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez conducted a traffic stop on SH 21 near FM 1624.  Deputy Dudley and DPS assisted.  The driver of the vehicle was arrested for reckless driving and resisting arrest. The subject was transported and booked into the Lee County Jail.

12:27 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Rodriguez, and Deputy Dudley assisted with a funeral escort in the City of Giddings.

13:05 - A caller reported cattle out near the roadway on US 77 near Rugged Lane.  Deputy Dudley responded.  The owner of the cattle arrived on the scene and the cattle were secured off the roadway.

15:08 - A caller reported a large dog being kept in a small crate on US 77.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded.  Contact was made with the owner of the dog.  The dog was removed from the crate. 

18:26 - A call was received of cattle near the roadway on FM 141 near CR 119. Deputy Turner advised previous contact was made with the owner and the cattle were secured back on the owner's property.  Deputy Dickerson checked the area and no cattle were located near roadway. 

20:32 - A 911 call was received of a deer carcass in the roadway which had been struck by a vehicle.  Sgt. Jones responded.  The roadway was cleared. 

23:43 - Deputy Turner advised of subjects using fireworks on Navarro Street. 

 

January 1, 2023

01:17 - Deputy Dickerson and DPS assisted Giddings PD with a possible fight in progress on N. Main Street.  There was no altercation located.  

01:22 - Sgt. Jones checked out with a suspicious subject walking along US 77 near CR 412.   The subject was given a courtesy ride to CEFCO.  

02:04 - Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Turner, and DPS assisted Gidding PD with a disturbance in progress on Rolling Oaks Drive.  

05:52 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on US 290 near McDade on a vehicle travelling eastbound in the westbound lane of traffic. Deputy Dudley and Bastrop County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene.  The Bastrop County deputy took the driver into custody for driving while intoxicated and transported the subject to the Bastrop County Jail. 

09:40 - A caller reported cattle out near the roadway on FM 1697 East of FM 180.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded.  The cattle were secured off the roadway.

11:00 - A call was received requesting a report be made for damage to property at a residence in Lexington.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded and made contact with the owner of the rental property. A report was taken.

12:23 - A call was received from an on-line alarm company advising a residential entry alarm was activated at a residence near Lexington.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Rodriguez, and Deputy Dudley responded and checked area.  The residence was secured with no signs of any forced entry.

17:55 - Deputy Turner assisted the Giddings PD and Giddings VFD for a trailer on fire on S. Waco Street near W. Liberty Street.

18:36 - A caller reported damage to a driveway on CR 137 caused by a Truck Tractor Semi-trailer.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy Turner responded.  No damage was located.  

19:17 - Sgt. Jones and Deputy Turner assisted DPS with a traffic stop on US 290 near CR 180.  Two subjects were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. They were transported and booked into the Lee County Jail.

21:37 - A caller reported a horse out near the roadway on CR 430. Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Turner responded.  The horse was located and secured back on the property.  

23:41 - Sgt. Jones located an abandoned vehicle on SH 21 near Walnut Street.  Vehicle was off the roadway and secured.
