October 10 - October 16, 2022

 

October 10, 2022

0201 - ONSTAR reported a vehicle accident on FM 696 west near Cannonball Lane. Deputy Strouth responded to the scene. The vehicle hit a deer and was unable to be driven. A wrecker was notified and occupants given a ride to CEFCO in Lexington.

0610 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 21 next to Bubba's Country Store. Corporal West responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0815 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 214. Sergeant Ray responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0850 - Sergeant Ray and Corporal West assisted with a funeral escort from St. Margaret's Catholic Church to St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

0945 - Constable Surman requested a Deputy's assistance with an eviction on CR 111. Deputy Young responded to assist.

1134 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to speak with a Deputy about an incident that happened on October 8th. Deputy Young met with the complainant in the Sheriff's Office lobby.

1536 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 121 off of 141. Deputy Young responded.

1818 - A complainant reported someone shooting behind his residence in Lexington and something hit his roof. Deputy J. Brown responded and met with complainant and another subject. No report was taken.

1845 - A caller reported at least a dozen cows out on FM 1624 and Hwy 21. Deputy Haman responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1917 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 180 near CR 132. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1918 - Deputy J. Brown attempted civil process. Paperwork was served without incident.

1939 - A caller reported approximately six cows in the roadway on CR 306 near the tunnel. Deputy J. Brown responded and livestock were secured off the roadway.

2225 - A caller reported multiple cows in the roadway on FM 448 near the County Line. Sergeant McAnally responded and livestock were secured off the roadway.

 

October 11, 2022

0644 - A caller reported 5 cows out on CR 114 and CR 134. Deputy Young responded.

0925 - A caller reported 3 cows out on CR 114. Deputy Young responded.

1048 - Deputy Young attempted civil process. Paperwork served without incident.

1411 - Corporal West attempted civil process. Paperwork served without incident.

1434 - Deputy Young advised that he red tagged a disabled vehicle on Hwy 290 in front of Altman Plants.

1845 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 21 traveling westbound. Sergeant McAnally checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle matching the description given.

1856 - Alarm Company called about an alarm going off on CR 234. Deputies Haman and J. Brown responded. There were no signs of forced entry; all checked out okay.

2148 - A caller reported a possible disturbance on CR 327. Sergeant McAnally, Deputies Haman and J. Brown responded but were unable to locate a disturbance. An abandoned vehicle was found parked in the roadway and it was towed.

 

October 12, 2022

0610 - Central Station Securities called to report a commercial burglary alarm at H&R Machine on Hwy 290 West. Deputies Dudley and Dickerson responded. Trooper McCoy assisted and was first on scene. Employees were all at the location; all was secure.

0641 - A caller reported large bins left on the shoulder of the highway. Deputy Dudley responded and pushed the bins off the roadway.

0807 - A caller reported a woman with a small child walking on Hwy 21 west of Hwy 77. The female looked upset as caller passed. Deputy Dudley responded and checked the area but was unable to locate the female subject.

0807 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 2239 between CR 295 and CR 208. Deputy Webber responded and checked the area.

0855 - Deputy Dudley removed an abandoned vehicle from Hwy 77 just south of FM 3403.

1310 - Sheriff Goetz, Chief Deputy Weltner, Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dudley and Dickerson assisted Giddings PD with a pursuit of a stolen vehicle on Hwy 290 going westbound. The vehicle and driver were later apprehended in the Elgin Area by DPS.

1423 - Deputy Dudley took a male subject into custody from the Probation Office.  Subject was booked into Lee County Jail on multiple warrants out of Washington.

1911 - Ring Alarm Company reported a residential alarm on Hale Street. Deputy Strouth responded.  Everything checked out okay.

1920 - A caller reported a tree blocking the roadway on FM 3403 near Hwy 77. TXDOT was notified and Sergeant Jones responded to the scene. The tree was removed from the roadway.

1938 - A 911 call was received reporting a neighbor's house on fire on Hwy 77. Lexington VFD, Tanglewood VFD and Squad One were dispatched. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded for assistance and to take a report.

1948 - A caller reported a tree blocking the road on Hwy 21 east of Hwy 77. TXDOT was notified and Sergeant Jones responded to the scene. Tree was removed from the roadway.  After clearing the tree, another was found further up the road lying across the roadway; it was also removed.

2239 - A 911 call was received reporting an argument between a husband and wife. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded and met with both parties. All was okay and parties separated.

2355 - Deputy Strouth advised of an abandoned vehicle on the side of Hwy 290 east of the city limits. Vehicle had flashers on but was unoccupied. Possible front end damage was observed.

 

October 13, 2022

0039 - Sergeant Jones advised a vehicle was parked on the side of Hwy 21 near the Walsh Store. Driver advised Sergeant Jones that he was on a long trip and had decided to pull over to rest.  All checked out okay.

0316 - Sergeant Jones removed a calf from the roadway on FM 141.

0952 - A complainant reported a male subject was refusing to let complainant leave and had taken the cell phone and broken it. Caller then hung up. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded to the scene on FM 141. Deputy Dudley made contact with complainant.

1736 - A complainant on Hwy 77 reporting someone had caused damage to their vehicle. Deputy Dickerson met with the complainant.

1819 - ASI reported a burglary alarm on CR 234. Deputy Strouth responded and checked the building.  All was secure.

1909 - A complainant reported his neighbor's dogs had damaged his fence and livestock had gotten out. Deputy Strouth attempted to make contact with the neighbor but was unsuccessful.

2020 - A caller reported cows out across from the Lexington Food Mart. Sergeant Jones searched the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2114 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 near the Christmas Tree Farm. Deputy Strouth responded and was able to run the livestock off the roadway into an open fence.

2324 - Deputy Strouth came across a hog in the road that had been hit on FM 696 and FM 619. Deputy Strouth met with motorist that hit the hog with the vehicle sustaining minor damage. Motorist continued on their way.

2324 - Sergeant Jones came across a vehicle on the side of the road on CR 309 near CR 322. Driver and vehicle were okay.

 

October 14, 2022

0443 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 696 at FM 619. Deputy Strouth responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0605 - A call reported a large bull lying in the ditch on CR 619 near FM 696. Deputy Young responded and while attempting to put the bull up a vehicle crashed. Bull was put up and owner was identified. The driver of the crash was okay and requested a tow company out of Rockdale. The crash resulted in damage to both mail boxes on PR 7017.

0720 - A caller requested a Deputy respond to FM 180 and CR 131 where he is attempted to pick up oil field equipment and was having an issue with individuals on scene. Sergeant Ray responded.

0743 - Multiple callers reported a cow out on FM 448 just passed the railroad tracks. Corporal West responded and put the cow up.

0747 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114. Deputy Young responded.

0855 - Deputy Webber put a cow up on FM 2339. Deputy Webber repaired the fence as best he could.

1027 - A complainant called to report someone had run through his fence on CR 214. Deputy Young responded and took a report.

1031 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to report possible identity theft. Sergeant Ray responded.

1130 - Phillips and Lucky requested a funeral escort from CR 112/FM 696 to CR 308. Deputy Webber assisted.

1141 - A complainant requested a Deputy come to a location on Post Oak Drive. Someone had broken into the complainant's home and items are missing. Corporal West responded and a report was taken.

1745 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to file a report reference criminal mischief and trespassing. Deputy Haman met with the complainant and a report was taken.

1811 - Multiple callers reported a cow out on Hwy 21 near FM 141. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2116 - A caller reported someone sitting on the side of the roadway on Hwy 77 near CR 405. Deputy Haman saw the subject sitting off the roadway in a driveway while on her way to another call. On Deputy Haman's way back subject was no longer at the location.

2156 - A caller reported a fight in progress in front of Dime Box Grocery. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded but subjects were no longer at the location. Information was taken to pass onto dayshift. Owner will be contacted for camera footage.

2252 - A complainant reported a male subject threatened her and was intoxicated. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded. Both parties were talked to and separated for the night.

 

October 15, 2022

0038 - A caller reported cows out on CR 118. Sergeant McAnally responded and secured the livestock off the roadway.

0615 - A caller reported a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of traffic on Hwy 290 passing Deer Haven Road. Sergeant Ray and Deputy Young checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

- Deputy Young was approached by a citizen who caught a stray dog running in and out of traffic at the intersection of Orange and Austin Street. Deputy Young took the dog and transported it to the Animal Shelter. The dog was released to Giddings PD.

1123 - A complainant asked a Deputy to meet at residence on CR 233 to pick up belongings. Sergeant Ray met with complainant and advised it is a civil matter. Both parties are loading their property.

1239 - A complainant reported someone breaking into his property on CR 309. The house is vacant and when he pulled up subjects were loading items into their car. Subject took off but complainant was able to get a picture of the car and license plate. Sergeant Ray and Deputy Terpstra met with complainant and a report was taken.

1242 - A caller reported a couple with an infant arguing on the side of Hwy 290 east of Giddings. Deputy Young responded and checked the area but was unable to locate anyone on the side of the highway.

1329 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to request a CTW. Deputy Young met with the complainant and a CTW issued for property on CR 233. Deputy Young spoke with the subject whom the CTW was issued to and agreed to meet at the property so subject can retrieve property left there.

1331 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 21 west of Bubba's Truck Stop. Deputy Terpstra responded and located the cow. The owner was notified and assisted Deputy Terpstra secure the cow off the roadway.

1334 - A complainant requested a supervisor meet with her at Hwy 77 regarding a complaint made earlier in the day. Sergeant Ray met with complainant.

1734 - A caller reported a calf out on Hwy 77 south of FM 3403. Deputy Young responded to the area.

1745 - A caller reported a vehicle in the ditch about 30 yards from her gate. She advised there is no one in or around the vehicle. Deputy Haman checked on the vehicle and identified the registered owner. Vehicle was off the roadway and secured. Deputy Haman attempted to make contact with the caller.

1804 - A caller reported a possible drunk driver on Hwy 290 passing FM 180 heading westbound failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy J. Brown attempted to locate the described vehicle but were unable to locate. Information on the reckless driver was passed on to Bastrop County.

2026 - A caller reported a vehicle swerving all over Hwy 77 near CR 405. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy J. Brown searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

2137 - A caller reported loud music coming from FM 696 and CR 307. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy J. Brown located a small party in the area but heard no loud music.

2207 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 near the Tree Farm. Deputy Haman checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2208 - Deputy Haman checked out with Giddings PD at FunTown RV's for an alarm call.

2246 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 near the Tree Farm. Sergeant McAnally ran the cows off the roadway.

2252 - A caller reported possible underage drinking on private property. Deputies Haman and J. Brown responded and found a party but no underage drinking.

 

October 16, 2022

0141 - Sergeant McAnally, Deputies J. Brown and Haman assisted Giddings PD with a gunshot call on Old Nails Creek.  All checked out okay.

0740 - A caller reported 3 donkeys out on CR 119 between FM 180 and CR 127. Deputy Young responded and secured them in the northwest corner of CR 119 and CR 127.

0842 - A complainant reported his wife was bitten by a dog near their home on CR 302. The female pepper sprayed the dog. Sergeant Ray responded and took an animal bite report.

1153 - Multiple 911 calls were received reporting cows out on Hwy 77 near FM 3403. Corporal West responded and found a fence down. Owner was found in cowdex and was notified.

1245 - A caller reported some horses on FM 3403 that didn't look good. Corporal West responded and spoke with the owners. The owner stated the horses are fed three times a day and have plenty of water. One of the horses is an older horse but all are okay.

1506 - A caller reported four cows out on Hwy 77 and 3403. Sergeant Ray responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1906 - All units responded to assist Giddings PD with a foot pursuit on FM 448. Male subject was not located.

1949 - A caller reported a large metal crate in the middle of Hwy 77 north of Giddings High School. Sergeant McAnally responded and located the crate in the bar ditch; the roadway was clear.

2133 - A caller reported a possible drunk driver that ran over multiple signs and through the church yard on Rockdale Street in Lexington. All units including Trooper Pennartz responded. The vehicle description and license plate was provided. Deputy J. Brown located the vehicle and driver. The driver was identified and booked into Lee County Jail by Trooper Pennartz.

2355 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 290 heading westbound.  Deputy J. Brown was in the area but was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description given.

2359 - Sergeant McAnally was advised of broken glass near a door at Bubba's Truck Stop. The perimeter was checked and everything was secure.
