September 5 - September 11, 2022

 

September 5, 2022

0135 - A caller reported 3 cows out on CR 114 south of CR 327. Deputy Young responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0304 - A caller reported a person walking in the middle of the roadway on Hwy 77 north of Nails Creek in the northbound lane. Deputy Young responded but was unable to locate anyone walking in or near the roadway.

0737 - Multiple calls were received reporting a male subject that had approached property owners or property owners saw the subject walking on CR 114 with the subject giving different stories about why he was in the area. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded to the area and located a male subject and identified him. Subject informed Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth that he was staying with a family member. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth remained in the area and met with several of the property owners to determine if any items/property was missing; it was determined nothing was missing. Units went to the location the subject said he was staying so he could be issued a CTW but he was unable to be located. Subject's son was located and he advised he will bring subject by the Sheriff's Office to sign the CTW.

0931 - A 911 caller advised family members were outside arguing, no weapons were involved, verbal only at this time. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth arrived and met with all parties involved. All parties were separated and neither party wanted to pursue charges.

1215 - A 911 caller reported that a male subject and female subject stole about $1,000 worth of building materials and cash from property on Walch Lane. Caller gave a full description of the vehicle and attempted to follow them but lost sight of the vehicle. Complainant called back to say the subjects were located in front of Lexington PD and they were on their way to return items so the police were no longer needed. Sergeant Jones spoke with complainant on the phone and Deputy Strouth met with caller at the residence. No report at this time.

1332 - A complainant requested a Deputy meet him at Peterson's Food Mart because owner was harassing him. Deputy Strouth responded and met with the store owner, who requested a CTW be issued on complainant. Deputy Strouth made contact with complainant at JP 3's office and a CTW was issued to complainant and a copy provided to the store owner.

1604 - A 911 caller stated that her boyfriend was refusing to let her out of a car. Caller advised that boyfriend took her to his parent's house on CR 451 and dropped her off and then he returned and an argument began and then the caller hung up. Dispatch attempted to reconnect but was unsuccessful. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth arrived at the residence and met with the boyfriend's mother who stated a verbal argument between the two subjects had started and they left the residence before units arrived. Both subjects live out of county, units checked the area but were unable to locate them.

1657 - Deputy Strouth advised he was flagged down by a motorist who wanted to report suspicious activity on CR 114. Motorist advised and vehicle was parked with all doors open and someone could be seen in the back of the vehicle. Deputy Strouth responded to the location given but was unable to locate the vehicle described.

1805 - A 911 call was received from a male subject advising his life is being threatened and then hung up. Dispatch attempted to call him back but couldn't get subject to give any additional information. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Strouth, Dudley and L. Brown arrived at the location on Hwy 77. Male subject was arrested for public intoxication, terroristic threat and given a CTW.

1827 - A delivery driver reported while delivering a package his vehicle was hit by a tractor on FM 696. Sergeant Holloway took a report.

2010 - A caller reported a calf out on CR 121. Deputy L. Brown responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

September 6, 2022

0150 - A caller reported a vehicle going westbound in the eastbound side of Hwy 290. All units responded but were unable to locate the vehicle.

0150 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 1624 near Fedor Fire Department. Deputies L. Brown and Dudley responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

0151 - A caller reported a bull out on FM 1697 just west of Washington County. Sergeant Holloway responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0430 - A caller reported a horse poking his head through a fence on CR 112 near the county line. Second caller reported 3 horses out. Deputy Dudley responded to the location and drove to the county line but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0621 - A caller reported horses out on FM 112 near CR 315. Sergeant Jones checked FRM 112 to the Milam County Line but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0740 - A caller reported loose cattle on CR 124 near FM 1697. Deputy Strouth responded to the location and checked all the way to the Burleson County Line but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0817 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to speak with a Deputy about check fraud. Sergeant Jones met with complainant and a report was taken.

0917 - A county employee came to the Sheriff's Office to speak to a Deputy regarding a break in at the County Courthouse. There were no items taken and no damage reported. Sergeant Jones met with the employee and an information report was taken and passed on to CID.

1115 - A caller reported loose cattle on CR 426. Deputy Strouth located and secured the cattle off the roadway.

1519 - A caller reported a vehicle with front end damage and a trailer on the side of the road with all the tires blown out. A couple of work vehicles were seen also. Deputy Strouth arrived on scene and advised that two vehicles were involved in a crash, no injuries reported.

 

September 7, 2022

0000 - Sergeant Holloway assisted Giddings PD with a suspicious incident at Walmart.

1201 - A complainant requested a Deputy at her residence in Lexington; complainant advised a cable truck hit her RV. Sergeant McAnally responded and an information report was taken.

1550 - A caller reported a calf out on CR 205. Deputy Haman responded and put the calf up.

1837 - A caller reported a tree in the roadway on CR 113. Pct. 2 was notified and Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. Tree was out of the roadway.

2134 - A complainant called in with concerns about a brush pile burning with no one attending it. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. Fire was being put out as units arrived.

2331 - A caller reported 6-8 cows out on CR 114. Deputy Young responded and cattle were secured off the roadway.

 

September 8, 2022

0326 - A caller reported cows out again on CR 114. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded.

0635 - A caller reported several cows out on CR 114. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded.  A big hole was found in the fence. Cows were secured off the roadway. Sergeant McAnally will attempt to contact the possible owner.

1800 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 21 going westbound passing Hwy 77. All units notified. Deputy Haman located and made contact with driver.  All checked out okay.

2200 - A complainant reported property damage to her vehicle. Complainant went outside and noticed the back glass was shattered. Sergeant Ray responded and a report was taken.

2212 - A caller reported suspicious activity at the cemetery on CR 456. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. Subjects were mowing and approved to be there.

 

September 9, 2022

0709 - A 911 caller reported a family member broke out a window at their residence on FM 141 and then left the scene. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded to the residence to meet with caller. While they were there, the family member arrived back on scene and was taken into custody and booked into Lee County Jail for criminal mischief.

0831 - Sergeant Jones was out with an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 21 at the Burleson County Line. Vehicle was towed.

1648 - A caller reported 7-8 head of cattle out on CR 310 near CR 309. Sergeant Jones checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1655 - A caller reported a donkey out on CR 309. Sergeant Jones checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1726 - A caller reported 3 large bulls out on FM 180 near CR 132. Sergeant Adams responded.

1920 - Deputy Dudley advised he was out with an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 77 north of Lexington. Vehicle was red tagged.

1931 - Deputy L. Brown conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 21. The driver was detained and a PC search was conducted. Driver was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a firearm.

2013 - A 911 call was received reporting a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 290 west of FM 180. The vehicle was on its side with the driver reported to be outside of the vehicle and appeared to be uninjured. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded, along with, Lee County EMS and Giddings VFD.

2126 - A caller reported a deer carcass in the roadway on CR 141. Deputy Dudley responded and removed the carcass from the roadway.

2126 - Several callers reported a cow out on 114 near Hwy 77. Deputy Dudley responded and removed cow from the roadway.

 

September 10, 2022

1102 - Deputy Strouth attempted a traffic stop on FM 696; the vehicle would not stop and took off at a high rate of speed turning onto 309 and then to CR F where Deputy Strouth lost sight of the vehicle. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth remained in the area attempting to locate the vehicle. At 1135, Sergeant Jones located the vehicle coming from CR C. The vehicle fled from Sergeant Jones onto CR 309 and westbound on FM 696 maintaining speeds of 130 MPH. Bastrop County was notified and had Units enroute to assist. The vehicle turned onto Moudine Lane in Elgin and units lost sight of the vehicle. Lieutenant Mastronardi, Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth, along with Bastrop County units, searched Moudine Lane and surrounding side roads in Elgin but were unable to locate the vehicle. Surrounding counties were notified.

1524 - A complainant on FM 619 called to report a vehicle went through his fence. Complainant moved the vehicle and parked it near the mailbox. Sergeant Jones met with complainant. The owner of the vehicle came back to the scene and spoke with complainant. The owner of the truck will repair the fence.

1556 - A caller reported a group of juveniles riding recklessly on an ATV in the Lexington City Park. Deputy Strouth located the juveniles and followed them to a residence on Hale Street.  Deputy Strouth met with the parents and advised the kids to stay off the roadway.

1556 - A caller reported cattle out on FM 180. Sergeant Holloway responded and located the livestock. The livestock were removed from the roadway.

1900 - Deputy L. Brown attempted civil process. Paperwork was served without incident.

2015 - A caller reported a disturbance on the corner of Cherry and Gary Street in Lexington. Another call was received reported a family member was one of the individuals involved and they were assaulted by someone. EMS, Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson, Dudley and L. Brown responded. Units issued CTW's to individuals involved and 2 individuals were transported by EMS.

2219 - Several callers reported cows out on CR 114. Units responded and were able to put the cows up.

 

September 11, 2022

0314 - A caller reported cows out on 141 at 1687. Deputies L. Brown and Dickerson responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

0918 - A caller reported a calf out on CR 114. Sergeant Jones responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1034 - Simple Safe called in a burglar alarm on CR 133. Homeowner and Alarm Company called back and advised it was a false alarm. Homeowner called back and requested a Deputy checked the area. Deputy Strouth responded and conducted a perimeter check. All was secure.

1209 - A caller reported horses out on FM 2239. Deputy Strouth responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1224 - A caller reported a hitchhiker on Hwy 77 near Zochnet walking northbound. Deputy Strouth located the subject and gave him a ride to a gas station in Rockdale; subject was trying to get to a location out of state. Rockdale PD advised they would have someone take him to a neighboring County.

1503 - A complainant reported trash left on the bridge on CR 216. Complainant advised she had called the week before about a man fishing on the bridge. Deputy Strouth spoke to the complainant and then went out and removed the trash.

1912 - Fayette County advised they were attempting to catch up to a vehicle on Hwy 290 in Giddings where they lost sight of the vehicle.  Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dudley and L. Brown located and stopped the vehicle. Two subjects were arrested on drug charges.

2249 - A complainant reported an argument between her and a male subject.  Complainant left the location. Deputy Dudley spoke with complainant by phone.

2318 - Lee County Jail requested assistance with an inmate. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.
