August 29, 2022

0956 - Sergeant McAnally was out with a vehicle on the side of CR 401. Sergeant McAnally red tagged the vehicle.

1029 - A complainant requested a deputy come to location for a vandalism and theft report. Sergeant McAnally responded and took a report.

1135 - A caller reported he had an accident, ran off the road and through a fence on Hwy 21 east of 3403. Deputy Haman responded.

1425 - A caller reported a cow in the middle of the road on FM 180 about 5 to 6 miles from Hwy 290. Captain Allen responded.

1505 - A caller requested a civil standby. Deputy Haman responded.

1828 - Multiple 911 calls were received from Kay Street. Deputy Young responded and advised unit was vacant, unable to locate anyone.

1957 - A caller reported a calf out on CR 203. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

2156 - A citizen flagged down Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown to inform them of a deer carcass on FM 696. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the location but were unable to locate.

2209 - A caller reported a cow out near the roadway on Hwy 21 and CR 327. Deputy Young responded and cow was secured on a property west of CR 327.

2211 - A caller requested a Deputy check on family members that were in a dispute earlier in the day. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the residence, all parties were fine and separated.

2332 - A 911 call was received advising 7-8 campers in the middle of Hwy 77 near CR 114. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. Sergeant Ray and Deputy J. Brown checked Hwy 77 to Hwy 21 but all units were unable to locate the campers.

 

August 30, 2022

0448 - Deputy J. Brown notified dispatch about a vehicle failing to stop on Hwy 21 heading westbound. A traffic stop was conducted and a citation was given.

0700 - A 911 call was received reporting 2 large dogs and puppies in the middle of the road on FM 696 about a mile off Hwy 77. Deputy Haman responded but was unable to locate the dogs.

0728 - Fayette County Sheriff's Office reported an EMS truck was stolen and last seen going north on Hwy 77. All Lee County units were notified; unable to locate.

0800 - A caller reported 4 cows out on CR 430. Deputy Haman responded and cows were removed from the roadway.

0918 - A motorist ran out of gas at Hwy 77 and Hwy 21. Sergeant McAnally responded to location; a ride was given to get a gas can and gas.

1126 - A complainant called in to speak to a deputy regarding an A/C unit stolen from a local church. Sergeant McAnally spoke to complainant and took a report.

1159 - A 911 call was received reported a single vehicle rollover on Hwy 21 north of Lexington on Hwy 77. Lee County EMS, Fire, Trooper Pennartz, Sergeant McAnally, Deputies Haman and Webber responded. DPS took a crash report.

1212 - A motorist reported that he side swiped a bridge on 1624 between Hwy 77 and Hwy 21. Sergeant McAnally and Trooper Pennartz responded.

1421 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 214. Sergeant McAnally responded and cow was removed from the roadway.

1429 - Deputy Haman assisted Giddings PD on a civil disturbance on Orange Street. One male subject was taken into custody for a warrant out of Harris County.

1616 - A 911 call was received reporting a civil disturbance on FM 141. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber responded. A CTW was issued.

1627 - A 911 call was received reporting a grass fire on CR 111. Citation was issued for illegal burn by Deputy Haman.

1648 - A caller reported a school bus had to stop because of a "gun fight" in the middle of CR 118. Sergeant Adams and Deputy Haman responded.  All checked out okay.

1748 - A caller reported a burn ban violation on CR 118. Fire and Deputy Young responded and fire was extinguished.

1753 - A complainant reported someone sending threatening texts on CR 201. Sergeant Ray responded and spoke with complainant. A report was taken.

1848 - A caller reported a possible burn ban violation on FM 180. Post Oak Fire was paged out and fire was extinguished.

1924 - A caller reported a vehicle ran through a fence on Hwy 77 and cows were out in the roadway. Sergeant Ray responded. No vehicle identifiers were found on the pieces of vehicle at the scene. Nearby businesses were going to check cameras and send any information to Sergeant Ray.

2048 - Deputy J. Brown advised of a burn ban violation on CR 118. Deputy Brown spoke with property owners and a citation was issued.

2218 - Deputy Young advised of a burn ban violation on Rockdale Street. Fire was extinguished by owner and Deputy Young issued a warning.

  

August 31, 2022

0716 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to speak with a Deputy about filing a report against a neighbor. Deputy Strouth met with complainant.

0915 - Giddings ISD had an active shooter test on all three campuses. All Sheriff's Office units and Trooper Pennartz participated.

1043 - B&M Towing called for assistance with directing traffic on Hwy 21 east of Bubba's Truck Stop. Captain Allen, Deputies Strouth and Webber assisted.

1110 - Deputy Strouth responded to Walch Store; owner reported theft of diesel. A reported was taken by Deputy Strouth.

1225 - A caller reported 4 cows out on CR 133 and 116. Sergeant Jones responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1443 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 180. Deputy Webber responded and removed the cow from the roadway.

1635 - A complainant reported a 4-wheeler that had been traveling at high rates of speed up and down CR 133 near FM 180 for the last couple of days. Deputy Webber responded and located the driver of the 4-wheeler; driver was informed to slow down.

1948 - Fire Department reported a burn ban violation on CR 217. Deputies J. Brown and Dickerson responded but were unable to get onto the property. The homeowner came out and put the fire out and was advised of the current burn ban.

2132 - A caller reported a vehicle failing to maintain a single lane of travel and turning headlights on and off.  Another call was received minutes later advising the same vehicle was stopped on the roadway south of Lexington on Hwy 77 with no lights. Male subject was standing outside vehicle and asked caller for a ride, once he was informed caller was contacting law enforcement, he began to run southbound on Hwy 77.  An 18-wheeler picked the male subject up. Sergeant Holloway located and stopped the 18-wheeler and found the male subject. Deputy L. Brown arrested the subject for PI.

2203 - Alarm Company reported a front door alarm at Dime Box Grocery. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley respond and found the store secure.

 

September 1, 2022

0335 - A caller reported 2 vehicles pulled off the roadway and argued before the vehicle left the scene and headed eastbound on FM 696. Deputy Dudley responded to check the area.

0802 - A caller reported a large bull out on CR 306 near CR 309. Deputy Strouth responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0856 - A caller reported 6-8 head of cattle on his property on FM 180 and wanted them removed. Deputy Strouth spoke with caller and attempted to contact possible owner of the cattle.

0906 - Sergeant Jones responded to Lexington High School to take a report.

1035 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 180 near CR 119. Deputy Strouth responded and was able to secure the cow off the roadway. Deputy Strouth also made contact with the owner of the cow.

1147 - Deputy Strouth assisted Game Warden Moreno on a call on FM 180 ½ mile north of 1697/180 intersection.

1740 - Deputy Strouth assisted Giddings PD with a warrant service.

2100 - A complainant reported that several male subjects were harassing 2 female subjects. Complainant advised male subject had weapons and had left the scene, unknown direction of travel. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies L. Brown, Dickerson, Dudley and Haman responded.

2344 - A complainant reported that he was assaulted and being held at gunpoint on FM 1624 by and male subject. Male subject left the scene before deputies arrived but a description of his vehicle was given. Deputies Dickerson and L. Brown went to the location where the incident occurred. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley drove around Lexington looking for the subject's vehicle. Giddings PD was notified that subject lived in Giddings. Giddings PD located the subject at Hwy 77 and Hwy 290. Subject was detained until Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley could make scene. Subject was arrested for assault, terroristic threat and a CTW was issued.                                                                                                         

September 2, 2022

1105 - Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman assisted Giddings PD with a funeral escort.

1615 - Deputies Haman and Webber assisted Giddings PD with an accident on Hwy 290 and Hwy 77.

1628 - Deputies Haman and Webber were out with Giddings PD on a suspicious person call near Liberty Street.

1645 - A caller reported herd of cows out on FM 180 and 1697 near Post Oak School. Deputy Haman responded.

1715 - A 911 call was received reported a reckless driver headed westbound on Hwy 290, flashing a pistol and flipping off the caller. Fayette County was advised and Sergeant McAnally responded to try and locate the described vehicle.

1912 - Bastrop County advised a reckless driver on Hwy 290 was headed eastbound. Sergeant Ray responded to the location to attempt to locate.

1930 - A caller reported a suspicious male subject behind Bubba's Truck Stop that appeared to be acting strangely. Deputies Young and J. Brown responded, all was okay.

1938 - A caller reported 10-12 cows out on FM 1697 near FM 180. Sergeant Ray responded to the area. Cows ran into a creek bottom. Dispatch attempted to make contact with possible owner, no answer. Contact will be made at a later date.

2122 - A 911 call was received reporting a vehicle vs. cow accident on FM 1697 near the county line. Deputies Young and J. Brown responded.

2300 - A caller reported a horse was out on FM 2239. Deputies Young and J. Brown responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

September 3, 2022

0712 - A 911 call was received reporting a barn on fire near PR 7711. South Lee County and Giddings Fire were toned out. Deputy Haman and South Lee County were unable to find any structures on fire. All units returned to their stations.

1045 - First Baptist Church requested an escort to Ledbetter. All Sheriff's Office units responded.

1205 - Sergeant McAnally and Reserve Deputy Terpstra were out with loose horse on FM 3403.

1231 - A 911 call was received with complainant stating he was assaulted. Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Haman and Reserve Deputy Terpstra responded to address in Dime Box. Parties were separated and a report taken.

1615 - A 911 call was received reporting a fire near the Power Plant on FM 448. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any fire.

1809 - A caller reported 2 dogs dumped on FM 2239 near CR 208. At the time, all units were busy. At 1928, Deputy Young responded and was able to locate one of the dogs but it ran into the brush. Dispatch attempted to contact Dogtown Rescue but their voicemail was full.

1820 - A complainant advised a male subject was at a residence on CR 404 busting out windows and threatening he and another family member. Complainant and family member left the residence and were waiting at another location for units to arrive. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded.

2000 - A caller advised of a reckless driver on Hwy 290 heading eastbound from Bastrop. Deputy Young responded to attempt to locate the described vehicle.

2033 - A caller advised of an injured calf on CR 322. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. Calf was located and deputies made contact with the owner and were advised to put down the animal. Owner will pick up the calf.

2035 - A caller reported several cows out on FM 1697 near the county line. Sergeant Ray responded. Dispatch contacted Washington County to locate and possible owner. Owner was contacted and was enroute.

2041 - A 911 call was received advising a male subject walking along Hwy 21 near CR 430 was partially in the roadway. Captain Allen and Deputy J. Brown responded. Deputy Brown located the subject and he was being picked up by a motorist.

2053 - A caller from Bubba's Truck Stop advised a customer was yelling and scaring customers. Captain Allen and Deputy Young responded. Prior to their arrival, caller advised subject left driving erratically eastbound on Hwy 21. Captain Allen drove all the way to the county line but was unable to locate the described vehicle.

2220 - A caller reported cow out on FM 180. Sergeant Ray responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

September 4, 2022

0001 - A call was received requesting assistance at the Silos on CR 223.  Sergeant Ray, Corporal West and Deputies Young and J. Brown responded and helped direct traffic out.

0047 - A 911 call was received from with an automated message advising of a crash with air bags deployed on Hwy 77 near FM 3403. Dispatch attempted to make contact with driver but was unsuccessful. All units responded. Once on scene, Sergeant Ray reported a one vehicle accident. Driver was okay and refused EMS. A crash report was taken.

0330 - A 911 call was received advising of a reckless driver on Hwy 290 heading eastbound. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown located the vehicle and followed it to the county line but did not observe any violations.

0932 - Dime Box VFD requested assistance with directing traffic. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded.

1118 - Dollar General Manager in Lexington called to advise a shop lifting subject is in the office. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded.

1345 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office requesting to speak to someone about a CTW. Deputy Haman met with complainant.

1405 - A 911 call was received reporting a stranded motorist in the outside lane on Hwy 21 about 1 ½ miles west of Dime Box. Sergeant McAnally responded. Sergeant McAnally was able to get a passing motorist to assist with a jump to move vehicle off the roadway while he directed traffic. Vehicle was moved off the roadway and owner will be back later to pick it up.

1656 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of the driveway. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded.

1833 - A caller reported a suspicious male subject walking towards Hwy 77. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded but were unable to locate anyone walking.

1852 - The Silos cleaning crew found what possibly looked like a bag of cocaine. Sergeant Ray responded and it was determined to be cocaine, it was destroyed by Sergeant Ray.

2124 - Deputy Young advised a cow was out near CR 309. Deputy Young secured the cow off the roadway.

2346 - Multiple calls reported a cow out on FM 1697 near FM 180. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. Contact was also made with owner. Cow was off the roadway in a wooded area.  Owner was repairing the fence.
