July 25 - July 31, 2022

 

July 25, 2022

0440 - A 911 call was received reporting a 1 vehicle rollover on Hwy 290 near FM 180. Driver was seen walking around. Sergeant Ray and Deputy Young responded.

0554 - A caller traveling southbound on Hwy 77 reported a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and reckless driving. Vehicle traveled through residential area and back on FM 141. Driver continued east on Austin Street and was stopped by Giddings PD and Deputy Strouth.

0707 - A caller reported a deer that had been struck in Lincoln and was still alive but could not get up.  Deputy Strouth was dispatched to the location.  Deputy Strouth put down the deer and removed it from the roadway.

0715 - A complainant requested a civil standby on Yegua Street to retrieve personal property. Sergeant Jones responded to the scene and property was retrieved without incident.

0766 - Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded to a property on FM 696 where a neighbor's cows were again on the property and tearing up fences. Sergeant McAnally had already met with caller so information has been forwarded to him to continue case.

1045 - A caller advised they were currently at the JP3 office and requested a civil standby in Lexington. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded to location. No one was home at the time and no current EPO or CTW in place.  Deputy Strouth explained eviction process.

1220 - While patrolling in Dime Box, Deputies L. Brown and Strouth noticed a male subject on foot and stopped to check on him. The subject lived in Caldwell and he was given a courtesy ride to his home.

1546 - A 911 call was received regarding a motorist assist broken down on Hwy 77 in the lane of traffic. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded and 2 occupants were given a courtesy ride to Giddings.

1639 - Deputies L. Brown and Strouth attempted civil process. Paperwork was served without incident.

1843 - A caller advised he found a loaded gun on the side of Hwy 77 at CR 114 on his way to work this date. He asked that a deputy meet him to turn the gun in. Sergeant Holloway met with subject and recovered the gun.

2051 - A caller reported 2 cows out at FM 141 and CR 116. Deputies Dudley and Dickerson responded to the location and placed the cows up at property on CR 116.

 

July 26, 2022

0650 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 77 north of the Fayette County line. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth located the cow and removed it from the roadway.

0732 - A caller reported a calf out on FM 448 south of the Sheriff's Office near the railroad tracks. Sergeant Jones responded and removed the calf from the roadway.

0856 - A complainant reported someone left 2 sofas and 2 chairs behind a building near the shed. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth met with complainant and a report was taken.

0909 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to request a CTW. Sergeant Jones spoke with complainant and issue was resolved.

0915 - A caller reported a bull out on CR 101 near FM 2440. Sergeant Jones was able to secure the bull off the roadway and repair the fence.

1201 - A caller reported a vehicle backed into caller's vehicle and drove off in unknown direction of travel. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth met with complainant at Walch Store and a report was taken.

1322 - Sergeant Jones checked out with an abandoned vehicle on the side of CR 411. Vehicle was left unsecured and had an open container inside.  A PC search was conducted and an ID card was found. The vehicle was safely off the roadway and was red-tagged.

1353 - A complainant requested to meet with a deputy regarding her dog that had gone missing but was found by another individual. Arrangements had been made to pick up the dog but individual refused to return the dog. Sergeant Jones met with complainant and spoke other party involved by phone. Sergeant Jones arranged to meet with party that had the dog and return it to owner.

1426 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to report identity theft. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth met with complainant and a report was taken.

1959 - Sergeant Holloway responded and met with subject that wanted a CTW issued.

2355 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop that led to subject being arrested for an out of county warrant. Subject was booked into Lee County Jail without incident.

 

July 27, 2022

0518 - A caller reported cows out on CR 208 about a mile and a half from Ace Hardware. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.

0744 - A caller reported cows out on FM 2239 near CR 205. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy J. Brown searched the area but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

0847 - A caller state there was a bull on her property on CR 133 that did not belong there. Sergeant McAnally and Deputies J. Brown and Webber responded. The landowner was able to locate the owner and made arrangement to have it removed.

0857 - A caller reported horses on CR 133 that looked bad and one had a wound on the back of its leg. Captain Allen responded with Deputy Webber. Deputy Webber gave the horses some hay and Captain Allen took a vet to the location to check the horses. A report was taken.

0859 - Captain Allen, Sergeants McAnally and Adams, and Deputy J. Brown responded to a call regarding a male subject walking down the roadway. Subject had called 911 a couple of times but could not be understood. On scene, subject stated he had hurt his wife and he was arrested for resisting. A welfare check was done on his wife and she was arrested by Giddings PD for an outstanding felony warrant.

0911 - A caller reported cows out on FM 180 and Hwy 290. Captain Allen searched the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0935 - Deputy Webber checked on a vehicle that had been parked at Lexington Post Office for a number of days.

1213 - Lee County Jail requested EMS for an inmate having a medical issue. Deputy J. Brown rode with the inmate to the hospital.

1657 - A caller reported an accident on Hwy 77 involving an 18-wheeler that had a blow out and wrecked. Captain Allen, Sergeant McAnally, Deputies Webber and J. Brown responded along with Fire and EMS. 1 subject was reported to be pinned in the vehicle. DPS and wrecker were also notified.

1951 - A 911 call was received which reported a cow and calf close to the roadway on FM 141. Sergeant Ray responded to the location but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2100 - A caller reported 2 cows out on FM 696. Sergeant Ray responded and was able to remove the cows from the roadway. Owner was contacted.

2130 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 309. Sergeant Ray responded the location and was able to put the cow up.

 

July 28, 2022

0745 - A caller requested someone check on vehicle on FM 3403 halfway between Hwy 77 and Hwy 21. Vehicle was seen at location a couple of days. Trooper Pennartz and Sergeant McAnally responded to the area. Subject was attempting to locate lost keys.

0901 - Trooper Pennartz conducted a traffic stop near FM 141. Sergeant McAnally stopped to assist. 1 subject was taken to Lee County Jail by DPS and Sergeant McAnally took a dog to the city pound.

0936 - A caller advised there was a suspicious vehicle at the end of CR A.  Deputy Webber responded to the area but the van was no longer in the area.

1050 - Giddings PD requested assistance with a funeral escort to Winchester. Captain Allen, Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber assisted.

1344 - Washington County requested a check on a male and female traveling on Hwy 290 westbound. Captain Allen located the vehicle at Hwy 290 and CR 205 and conducted a traffic stop. Sergeant McAnally, Sergeant Holloway, Deputy J. Brown, Deputy Dickerson and Officer Zuniga also responded to the scene. Both subject were arrested on charges and booked into Lee County Jail.

1920 - A caller reported a stray dog on their property and tried calling the phone number on the tag but no one answered. Deputy Young arrived at the location and advised the complainant Gidding's animal shelter didn't have room for the dog and the county does not have its own location to keep dogs. Deputy Young got the chip information and will try to locate the owner.

2125 - A caller reported that it appeared someone had an accident in a yard on FM 141 in Dime Box and may have tried to get in the front door of the residence. Corporal West and Deputy Young responded. A case report for burglary of a habitation was taken.

 

July 29, 2022

0654 - A caller reported an overturned sand truck on Hwy 21 east of CR 440. Driver was seen outside the vehicle, sand was all over the roadway, and the vehicle was leaking fuel. Lincoln VFD and DPS were dispatched to the location. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded and assisted with traffic control. TxDOT was also notified to remove sand from the roadway.

0906 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to report a tree by a fence line was leaning and threatening to take down the fence. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth spoke with complainant and then contacted TxDOT. A limb was removed from the tree over the fence.

0935 - A caller reported 3 calves out on CR 216 at CR 217. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded and checked the area. Roadway was clear, no loose livestock were located.

0950 - Sergeant Jones conducted a PC search on a traffic stop on Hwy 290 east near CR 233. The driver waited for a licensed driver to pick them up.

1459 - A caller from Camp Tejas requested an officer take a theft report. Caller advised an individual had an iPhone stolen. Sergeant Jones met with the individual and a report was taken.

1624 - A caller report a vehicle driving recklessly and slinging rocks on Hwy 77 south causing damage to a windshield. Caller followed vehicle from Fayette County to Lee County where the vehicle stopped at Giddings City Limits. The caller pulled over also and the suspect vehicle backed into caller's vehicle then took off again. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth located and initiated a stop on the described vehicle. A PC search was conducted on the vehicle and driver was taken into custody. Driver was transported to Lee County Jail for booking.

1944 - Sergeant Holloway stopped at Hwy 290 for a motorist assist. Driver was waiting for a wrecker to arrive.

2039 - Several callers reported a cow out on Hwy 77. Deputy Dickerson located the cow and put it in a pasture across from PUMPCO.

2227 - A 911 call was received where the caller advised she was being threatened and hit. A male subject was heard in the background. All units responded and the female was taken to a friend's house but did not want to press charges.

2320 - An alarm company called the Sheriff's Office advising the alarm was not set at a business. Deputies responded and everything checked out okay.

   

July 30, 2022

0301 - A 911 call was received reporting a vehicle was on fire at CR 329 and CR 327. All units responded along with Lincoln Fire Department. Deputies advised the vehicle fire was actually at Hwy 77 at CR 135. A UHAUL owned vehicle tires were on fire. The fire was put out and the female was given a ride to a hotel.

0324 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle at CR 108 near the bridge. Vehicle was not blocking the roadway and no one was in the vehicle. Vehicle was red tagged by Deputies Dickerson and Dudley.

0715 - Deputy L. Brown removed a road sign from the roadway on Hwy 77 at Hwy 21. TxDOT was notified.

1107 - A complainant called to speak with a deputy about harassing texts and phone messages received for the past 6 months. Deputy L. Brown spoke with complainant over the phone and information was taken and documented.

1423 - A caller reported an abandoned vehicle parked behind the Holy Trinity Church. Caller advised vehicle had a red tag on it. Sergeant Jones responded but the vehicle had left prior to his arrival.

1824 - Union Pacific Railroad reported cattle on the tracks on CR 118. Sergeant Holloway advised the cattle are in a pasture with a fence near the tracks.

1931 - A caller reported a male subject at the neighbor's property. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded. Male subject had been dropped off in our county by Burleson County. Deputy Dickerson transported subject to Austin.

2116 - A caller reported there was a male subject seen in a shed on their property on CR 447. Caller advised husband had left on an ATV with a weapon after the subject ran. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley arrived on scene and husband returned. Male subject was not located.

2313 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle at Tanglewood Fire Department. Sergeant Holloway arrived at the location, all was secure.

2326 - A caller reported a vehicle almost hitting him and crashing into a street sign. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded where they conducted field sobriety tasks, the subject was arrest, and transported to Lee County Jail.

2328 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop that led to an arrest for unlawful carry. Male subject was transported to Lee County Jail and advised he was having chest pain. Lee County EMS transported the subject to St. Marks where subject was released pending the issuance of a warrant.

 

July 31, 2022

0716 - A 911 call was received reporting a 1 vehicle accident on FM 3403 near CR 442. Caller stated the vehicle lost control and went through a fence into a pasture. Caller advised he could see the vehicle and would wait in his vehicle for units to arrive. Lee County EMS and Lexington Fire were paged out. Sergeant Jones assisted DPS.

0846 - A caller reported a calf out on CR 106. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded and secured the calf behind the fence across from the roadway.

0902 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 619 across from the Down Home Ranch. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth checked the area but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

0956 - A complainant called to report his vehicle stolen from a residence on CR 113. Information was taken for a report and the vehicle was entered into TCIC/NCIC.

1042 - Sergeant Jones and Trooper Pennartz attempted warrant service on CR 132. Subject was taken into custody and transported to Lee County Jail for booking on a probation violation-assault warrant.

1226 - A caller reported he is stranded on the side of Hwy 290 near CR 234 with a flat tire. Sergeant Jones responded and advised he is okay and a family member is on the way to assist.

1713 - Sergeant Jones came across loose cattle on FM 1624 near South Yegua. Sergeant Jones was able to get them off the roadway for the time. There is no fence on the property.

1907 - A caller reported a reckless driver eastbound on Hwy 290 traveling at a high rate of speed with children in the back that were not secured. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded and the vehicle was stopped with the driver receiving citations.

1953 - A caller reported a disturbance involving another male subject in dispute over an ATV. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded. Sergeant Holloway advised it was a civil matter and parties were separated. Caller contacted Sheriff's Office again and wanted units back on scene. All responded and everything okay.

2048 - A caller requested a motorist assist on Hwy 290. Caller was advised all officers were on another call and would be there when they were done.  He called 911 again as units were leaving the finished call and then again when they did not arrive in what he called a timely manner. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded when they were no longer on the disturbance call.

2100 - Lee County EMS advised a bull was out on FM 141. Deputy Dudley responded but was unable to locate the bull.

2338 - A caller reported a vehicle parked on CR 455 with their hazard lights on and requested a deputy check it out. Deputy Dudley checked on the vehicle where driver was having issues with a tire. The tire was changed but the trailer was also having electrical issues.  The driver decided to drive into Lexington and park for the night.
