BURGLARY OF A HABITATION

On 06/29/2022 at approximately 9:22 am Lee County Sheriff's Office was contacted of a stolen UTV from a location on FM 2440. The UTV was reported to be followed by a dark blue SUV. Deputy Young located the vehicles on CR 200 traveling towards Paige. Shortly thereafter, Deputy Young informed dispatch that both vehicles were fleeing. Deputy Young pursued the blue SUV into Bastrop County where the vehicle wrecked into some trees at Old McDade Road and US 290.

 

The SUV was reported to have been stolen out of Austin Police Department. The driver, Falon Mackillop, was arrested for burglary of a habitation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle. Bond for these charges is set at $15,000 for burglary of habitation, $10,000 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and $12,000 for evading arrest/detention with vehicle.

 

The UTV was found abandoned on County Road 200. A perimeter was established by law enforcement to search for the driver of the stolen UTV. After several hours, the perimeter was removed. A local resident reported seeing a suspect matching the description of the suspect near the location the UTV was found abandoned was received and the suspected driver of the UTV, Wesley Brown, was found hiding in the brush near County Road 200. A foot pursuit ensued and shortly thereafter, he was placed in custody for burglary of a habitation, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, evading arrest/detention with vehicle, and evading arrest/detention with previous conviction. Bond was set at $20,000 for burglary of habitation, $12,000 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, $15,000 for evading arrest/detention with vehicle, and $15,000 for evading arrest/detention with a precious conviction.
