12/25/2023

Business owner from Hwy 290 W called to inform of their business alarms being tested and who would be on-site.

Caller reported a disturbance on Hwy 290 E between a mother and daughter. Deputy responded to investigate.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop on FM 448. Upon further investigation, the driver was found to be intoxicated. Driver arrested and provided the gift of a warm bunk in the Lee County Jail.

 

12/26/2023

Caller from CR 231 reported two aggressive dogs. Deputy responded to speak with the owner of the animals.

Medical facility called to report an animal bite. A resident on CR 401 was bitten by a cat. Report made.

Caller from CR 118 called to inquire about burning an old structure on their property. Caller was forwarded to GVFD Fire Chief.

Deputies responded to CR 316 to assist an individual with a crisis intervention. All okay.

Caller from Hwy 77 N called to report a diesel truck stop on the roadway, fire a gun three times, then drove off onto CR 114 eastbound. Deputies responded to patrol the area but were unable to locate.

Caller from PR 8060 reported an electrical fire in their home. Sergeant and DBVFD responded. All okay.

Caller requested a Deputy to check their property on FM 3403 for a trespasser. Sergeant arrived and located the caller's hire work hand. All okay.

 

12/27/2023

Deputies responded to a verbal disturbance on Turner Ln. Parties were separated.

Deputy assisted with a vehicle unlock on S. Waco St.

Child Servies requested a welfare check on children at a residence on CR 405. Deputies made location and all was okay.

Motorist reported a vehicle driving without lights on Hwy 77 in Lexington. Deputy located the vehicle and made a traffic stop where the equipment violation was corrected.

Caller from CR 309 reported gunshots. Deputy responded to investigate. Area residents were shooting off aerial fireworks.

Sergeant located an open storage unit with a lock on the ground at storage units on FM 696 W. Sergeant investigated and documented the matter.

Sergeant checked a suspicious vehicle at a business on Hwy 77 N. All okay.

 

12/28/2023

Male subject with outstanding local warrant surrendered himself at the Lee County Jail.

Citizen from FM 696 W came to the office to file a report of fraud. Report taken.

Caller on N. County Line Rd called to report vandalism to a vehicle. Deputy responded to investigate and make report.

Citizen on FM 141 reported her mail not being delivered again. Sergeant assisted by making contact with the Post Office to clear up the matter.

Sheriff assisted stranded motorist with a tire change on SH 21/CR 326. Sheriff then called for a wrecker for a transmission issue on a patrol vehicle with 114K miles.

Deputies assisted with a civil standby at a private residence on CR 113.

Sergeant assisted with a vehicle unlock on S. Main in Giddings.

Deputies assisted Burleson County SO with an assault that reportedly had taken place on CR 132 in Burleson County.

Motorist reported two young males walking on FM 141/CR 123. Deputy responded to ensure the safety of the youth, who were going home for the night.

Deputy assisted with traffic control on Hwy 77 N for several trucks and trailers there were blocking traffic.

Sergeant checked a suspicious vehicle parked at a convenience store on SH 21 at 2:00 a.m. All okay.

 

12/29/2023

Motorist reported a blue car upside down in a stock tank at SH 21/FM 2440. Deputies, Troopers, Lincoln VFD, LCEMS and Sheriff responded to the scene. The incident was worked as a fatality crash by DPS.

Caller reported criminal mischief on CR 113. Deputy responded to investigate and found several mailboxes were damaged. Report taken.

Caller reported a male subject sitting in the ditch of SH 21/FM 141. Deputy responded but the individual was gone upon arrival.

Caller reported a structure fire on Deer Valley Dr. Blue and Lexington VFD responded along with Deputy for traffic control. The barn shed fire was extinguished.

Caller from FM 180 reported a vehicle that stopped at his driveway. Deputy patrolled the area but was unable to locate the vehicle or any sign of criminal activity.

Sergeant checked on two suspicious vehicles parked at a business in Old Dime Box. All okay.

 

12/30/2023

Deputies responded to a report of a physical disturbance. The vehicle reported being stabbed with a pitchfork by his girlfriend. The victim was located at a store on SH 21 in Bastrop County. The victim was transported by LCEMS for treatment. The case is under investigation and charges are pending.

Citizen reported a reckless driver on FM 1624. Both deputies were handling the previous call at the time.

Caller reported her 13-year-old daughter missing from their resident on CR 316. Deputies responded to investigate. The juvenile returned home a short time later.

Caller reported their vehicle was stolen in Wylie, TX; and informed the GPS was pinging at a residence in Lee County. Chief Deputy and Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate said vehicle.

Motorist called 911 to report a major crash involving to vehicles on Hwy 77/CR 223. One vehicle rolled several times, and one individual was pinned in according to the reporting party. Deputies, Troopers, Giddings VFD and LCEMS responded to the scene. Both directions of Hwy 77 had to shut down while the crash was investigated, and debris removed. Crash report made by DPS.

Caller from PR 8022 reported their previously reported controlled burn was no longer controlled. Lincoln VFD responded to extinguish the fire.

Sheriff was advised of a large party on CR 430. Deputies were made aware in case of disorderly noise complaints. Deputies later responded to two calls reporting the loud music from a band.

Deputies responded to a requested welfare check on SH 21 in Lincoln. After further investigation, two subjects were arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Caller on CR 121 reported a loud boom near their property. Deputy responded to check the area but was unable to locate the source.

 

12/31/2023

Citizen came to the office to make a report of animal cruelty on FM 2440. Deputy responded to the address to meet with the horse owner and investigate further.

Caller reported their house on fire on CR 127. Deputies GVFD and LCEMS responded to the scene. One patient was transported for smoke inhalation. The fire was extinguished.

Motorist reported trash dumped on CR 221. Deputy responded to investigate and remove the item from the roadway.

Caller reported a suspicious male subject wearing dark clothing looking into the windows of a business on FM 141 in Dime Box. Deputies responded to patrol the area; however, no one was located on the premises. Close patrol in effect.

Deputies responded to another report of criminal mischief involving mailboxes on Shady Oaks St. Matter was investigated and report taken.

Deputies assisted Giddings PD with a large physical disturbance on S. Williamson St. One male suspect was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

Deputies assisted Giddings PD with a juvenile who was knocking on doors seeking his mother. The mother was located and arrested by GPD. Deputies assisted with transporting the children to safety.

Received one report of fireworks at 2:00 a.m. on W. CR E. Deputies were busy on previous calls.

 

Criminal mischief of a mailbox in the Penal Code is an offense where the punishment upon convictions may range in Texas from a misdemeanor to a first-degree felony, depending on the circumstances of the offense. Proactive measures are in place to identify anyone who finds it necessary to damage mailboxes and/or steal mail.
