11/27/2023

Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a male subject that fell out of his truck and was not breathing. Constable Pct. 4, Deputies, JP Pct. 2, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene in Dime Box. Inquest was held at the scene and autopsy was ordered.

Citizen dropped by the sheriff's office to report a suspect dumping furniture and mattress at the Rabbs Creek Bridge on FM 448. Sergeant responded to investigate and document.

Citizen reported his elderly mother missing from the Fedor area. The mother had missed an appointment in Bastrop. Deputies responded to investigate and initiate missing person report. The lady was later located safe by the Bee Caves PD.

Deputy summoned rotation wrecker for a red-tagged abandoned vehicle at Hwy 290 W/CR 203.

 

11/28/2023

Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a female subject that was in bed and not breathing. Deputies, Sheriff, and LCEMS responded to the scene on Hwy 77 N. Inquest was held at the scene.

Citizen came to the sheriff's office to speak with a Deputy about an individual going thru his mailbox. Report filed.

Citizen called to speak with Chief Deputy regarding neighbor's dogs killing chickens.

Caller requested welfare check on daughter and grandchildren. Deputies responded and located individuals. Information taken for report.

Trooper requested assistance with pursuit of black Charger on SH 21. All units responded to assist, however the lead unit lost sight of the vehicle due to dangerously high rate of speed. DPS helicopter assisted in the search after dark in the Blue area. Subject later surrendered himself at the sheriff's office.

Chief Garza reported a call of reckless driving on Giddings St. Deputy responded to patrol the area but was unable to locate the subject.

Deputies and GVFD responded to Hwy 290 E for a report of gas smell. Contact was made with area residents, all okay.

 

11/29/2023

Caller reported finding two stray dogs that appeared malnourished on CR 127. Sergeant responded, however there was no vacancy at the local animal shelter. Attempts were made for the animals to be taken to other shelters.

Dispatch received calls of a male subject asleep on the side of CR 320. Deputies located the individual and arranged for a family member to transport him.

Dispatch received a call in regard to a deer carcass on Hwy 77 N. Deputy had already observed and removed the carcass from the roadway.

Motorist reported a crash with a vehicle vs. horse on Hwy 77 N of Giddings. Deputies, Troopers, LCEMS, and GVFD responded to the scene, where a second motorist had crashed into another horse. Report taken by DPS.

Citizen on Hale St. reported a male subject standing outside of the residence. Deputies responded and settled the matter.

While on patrol, Deputy noted a vehicle quickly flee from an oil pad site on CR 226 near the county line. Information noted.

Deputy located an open gate at a business on SH 21. The gate was secured, and the manager was notified.

Sergeant made a traffic stop on Hwy 290 W. Driver was subsequently arrested for multiple DWLI offenses and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputy located a vehicle traveling 94 miles per hour in a 60 mile per hour zone in Old Dime Box. The vehicle failed to yield to the Deputy and was eventually stopped in Caldwell. Driver was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

 

11/30/2023

TXDOT requested a standby on FM 448/Rabb's Creek bridge for the cleanup of an apparent homeless camp. Deputies searched the area but did not locate anyone. The site was cleaned by TXDOT personnel. Close Patrol will be in effect.

Caller requested welfare check on his mother on Hwy 290. Deputies responded and noted the female had fallen and required assistance. Deputies assisted and made the recommendation to call 911 in such instances. All okay.

Deputies responded to a requested welfare check on a resident on CR 431. All okay.

Deputy checked a suspicious vehicle on CR 217/Hwy 77 S. Driver was taking a nap.

Sergeant checked suspicious vehicle CR 234/Hwy 290 E. Driver was sleeping before his shift.

Sergeant checked suspicious person in convenience store parking lot in Lexington after 2am. The owner was thankful for the Deputy checking on him.

Deputies responded to report of loud ATV and possible gunshots on Hwy 77 N. Deputies are familiar with the individual, who was not located after patrolling the area. Close patrol in effect.

Deputies responded to a Lexington residence for a crisis intervention call after 4am. The individual was transported to an area facility for treatment. LCEMS assisted at the scene.

 

12/01/2023

Deputy attempted a traffic stop on FM 141 near CR 121 on white Audi at a high rate of speed. Deputy lost sight of the vehicle and other responding units were unable to locate.

FEDEX reported an employee bitten by a dog during a delivery on CR 426. Deputies investigated and found the animal in question to be a stray. Information taken for report.

Caller reported her mother's boyfriend was attempting to set their house on fire and there was an active physical disturbance. Deputies and Troopers responded to the scene on FM 180. One male subject was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail for Assault Family Violence.

 

12/02/2023

Caller reported a deer that was shot in the shoulder and left on CR 233. Deputy investigated and forwarded info to Game Warden and State Biologist.

Deputy conducted traffic stop at Hwy 77/FM 1624. Driver came back with outstanding warrant out of Travis County. Subject arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputy conducted traffic stop on Hwy 290 W/CR 200. After investigation, driver was arrested for DWI and transported to Lee County Jail.

Motorist called to report a rolling disturbance in her vehicle between 3 individuals. The caller stopped at Hwy 77 S/CR 217. Deputies and Troopers responded to settle the matter. After determining the problem was a verbal disturbance; all parties were separated with assistance from Fayette County SO.

Citizen reported loud music on CR B after 10pm. Deputy responded to patrol the area; however, the noise was not located at the time.

Another citizen reported loud music coming from Scenic View. Deputies located the source and requested voluntary compliance for the noise disturbance.

Deputies assisted GPD with a subject who was resisting arrest on Hwy 290 W. Sergeant transported one subject to Lee County Jail.

 

12/03/2023

Caller reported an injured owl on CR 226. Game Warden was notified.

Caller spoke with a Deputy in regard to a hit and run that occurred the previous night on FM 141. Deputy collected info for report.

Sergeant was informed of a possible disturbance on CR 135. Upon checking the area, there was no disturbance. All okay.

Deputies conducted a welfare check on the reporting party's grandchildren. Information was forwarded to GPD.

Deputies assisted with a civil standby on FM 448. All okay.

Deputies responded to 28 reports of loose livestock on roadways and conducted 166 traffic stops for this reporting period.

 

We enjoyed a very successful Blue Santa live auction and raffle this past weekend. With over $30,000 in donations there will be hundreds of Lee County youth who will be blessed this Christmas. We can't THANK each of our supporters enough!
