10/30/2023

Sergeant conducted a welfare check at a residence on FM 141. All okay.

Deputies responded to Dime Box for a juvenile causing a disturbance at the school. The juvenile was transported to the sheriff's office.

Deputy took a criminal mischief report where a citizen reported a suspect cutting ruts in his hay field.

Deputies assisted Elgin Police with a hit-and-run with a follow-up investigation on FM 2440.

Five loose livestock calls.

 

10/31/2023

Complainants came to the sheriff's office to speak with a Sergeant regarding child custody issues.

Caller reported a low-flying plane. Plane surveying for pipeline.

Deputies conducted warrant service on PR 7003. One male subject arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputies attended county events and conducted additional patrols for Halloween.

One loose livestock call.

 

11/1/2023

Deputy responded to a vehicle unlock request on E. Industry St.

Citizen reported his wallet was stolen by a female suspect. Theft report taken.

Deputies conducted a welfare check of an individual on CR 433. All okay.

Citizen reported finding a purse on FM 1697. Deputy responded and identified the owner and returned the items.

Citizen reported a suspicious vehicle parked on CR 440 for several hours. Deputy made contact with the driver, who had a flat and was awaiting a wrecker service.

Citizen report of propane smell in the area of Hwy 290 West near Altmann Plants. Deputy checked the area and advised everything was okay.

Deputies responded to three false residential burglar alarms and two loose livestock calls.

 

11/2/2023

Deputy removed deer carcass from roadway at SH 21/CR 404.

Sheriff and Constable Pct. 2 assisted GPD with funeral escort to City Cemetery.

Deputy responded to a vehicle unlock request on N. Burleson St.

Deputies assisted with a civil standby on FM 1624.

Six loose livestock calls.

 

11/3/2023

Motorist report of a male subject walking on Hwy 77 North of GHS. Sergeant located the individual who had been released from Lee County Jail. Subject advised to stay off the roadway.

Citizen called to report his neighbor informed him there was a male subject shooting on his property. Deputies and GPD responded to investigate.

Caller reported animal cruelty on CR 114 where cows are being neglected. Sergeant responded to investigate.

Dispatch received a call from Bastrop County SO advising of a pursuit of a vehicle involved in an armed robbery out of Austin. Last known location was SH 21. Sheriff and Deputies set up on Hwy 290 West and SH 21. Bastrop County called back to inform the vehicle was stopped in Bastrop County.

Bastrop County called back to advise of a second vehicle that was possibly involved in the armed robbery. This vehicle was last seen on Hwy 290. Deputies located and stopped this vehicle in the 600 Block of W. Austin St. The occupants were identified and documented for Austin Police.

Sergeant called for EMS to convenience store in Dime Box for an individual with chest pains. Lee County EMS responded.

Caller reported a man sitting by the bridge on Hwy 77 North of Nails Creek. Deputy patrolled the area but was unable to locate the individual.

Caller requested a welfare check on her friend on PR 4308. Sheriff made location and met with the individual who was okay.

Sheriff conducted a motorist assist on FM 141/CR 430 where a driver was stranded.

Deputies and GPD conducted warrant service in 300 Block of S. Main, where one individual was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Subsequently, Deputies located methamphetamine and the male was charged and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputies conducted a business check after finding an open gate on Hwy 290 W. All okay.

Caller reported his vehicle broke down on CR 114 and he called a wrecker that would take an hour. Deputies advised a local wrecker would remove the vehicle from the roadway for safety purposes.

11/4/2023

Sergeant assisted GPD with crash on Hwy 290 E. Occupants transported by Lee County EMS.

Caller reported a suspicious male subject walking her property on PR 7015. Lexington PD reported they had just contacted the male subject. Deputies and LPD were unable to locate.

Citizen reported reckless driving on CR 326. Information was given to a Deputy. Close patrols will be in effect for traffic violations.

Deputy responded to a report of a bullet hole in his RV on PR 1373. Information taken for a report. Deputy will be making contact with the neighbor.

Dispatch received several calls reporting a gunshot from the American Legion Hall in Lexington. Sheriff, Deputies, Trooper and Game Warden responded. Information was gathered about a male subject who was causing problems at the wedding reception before he left. This person was located on Hwy 77/CR 327 where he and his female passenger were arrested. Investigators responded to the scene where evidence was recovered, and it was determined that an unknown suspect fired one round in the parking lot during the disturbance. Fortunately, no one was injured. On-going investigation to identify the suspect who fired.

11/5/2023

Deputies responded to assist GPD with a disturbance involving a knife on S. Waco St.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on FM 141. Information taken for report.

Deputies assisted GPD with multiple traffic stops for reckless driver reports of vehicles leaving Bernie's on E. Hempstead St.

Deputies responded to a reported homeless man sleeping in storage unit at a place of business at 8000 Block Hwy 77 N.
