10/9/2023

Motorist called in to report a truck hit a power line and pulled down a power pole on FM 141. Deputies and Troopers responded to the scene. Bluebonnet made repairs.

Deputy responded to N. Waco St. for a vehicle unlock.

Complainant notified the sheriff's office of an in-progress theft of fuel from an oil pad location. The suspect left headed north of Hwy 77. DPS and Giddings PD located the suspect who was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputies responded to SH 21 for a major crash where an 18-wheeler rolled over. Lincoln VFD and Lee County EMS responded to the scene as well.

Motorist reported a male subject walking on Hwy 77 North of Giddings. Deputies searched the area in attempt to conduct a welfare check, however the subject was gone upon arrival.

Deputy took a report of a lost identification card.

Deputy spoke with a citizen in regard to a neighbor dispute.

Deputies responded to a residence in Lexington after a citizen reported a male subject knocking on her door throughout the night. Deputies search the area but were unable to locate.

Deputy made a traffic stop on County Rd 455 and Hwy 77 for a violation. Upon further investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated.

 

10/10/2023

Deputy assisted a stranded motorist on Hwy 290 East.

Deputy met with a complainant at the sheriff's office to file an identity theft case.

A caller requested a welfare check on her daughter whom she had not heard from. Deputy made location and checked on the individual who was okay.

Deputies responded to a major crash at SH 21/FM 1624 involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. Troopers, Lincoln VFD, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene as well.

Motorist report of a male subject laying in the ditch on Hwy 290 West. Captain located the individual and provided him a courtesy ride.

Citizen called to make a theft report from storage unit facility in Lexington. Deputy met with the complainant and made a report.

Citizen called to make a missing person report. Complainant reported her brother was elderly and homeless and hasn't been heard from for an extended period of time. Deputy made a report and followed up with a police agency in the state of Florida.

The sheriff's office was notified of a male trespassing on private property on SH 21 West. Troopers were already in the area and made a foot patrol. The neighbor advised their livestock roamed onto the property and were herded back.

Deputy checked the area of FM 180/CR 130 for a reported suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was gone upon arrival.

Deputy checked the area of FM 1697/CR 125 for a reported suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was gone upon arrival. Deputies will be performing frequent patrols of the area.

Deputies patrolled CR 217 after receiving reports of a reckless driver. The vehicle was not located.

 

10/11/2023

Citizen reported an elderly male subject blocking the roadway on Hwy 77 North. Deputy made location and found the individual to be confused and disoriented. An emergency contact was called from the individual's driver license, and he was given a courtesy ride to the sheriff's office to await his family members.

Caller reported a reckless driver on FM 448. Deputy followed the vehicle in question; however, no violations were observed at that time.

Deputy removed debris from roadway on CR 319.

Citizen reported a male subject trespassing on private property on Jackson Road. It was reported that the black male subject was looking around storage buildings. Deputy responded and searched; however, the individual was gone upon arrival.

Sheriff conducted close patrols on CR 309.

Deputies responded to CR 209 on a report of a female being held against her will. Bastrop County SO was on scene as well. The involved parties were separated after the initial investigation and an informational report was made.

Deputy responded to a residence on SH 21 for a vehicle unlock.

Deputy responded to a noise complaint on Hwy 290 East. The subject making the noise was quiet upon the deputy's arrival.

A motorist reported that she hit two dogs and totaled her vehicle on FM 180. Deputy responded to the scene to investigate and make a crash report.

Caller reported a reckless driver at FM 696/FM 112. No units in the area at the time.

Complainant came to the sheriff's office to report an assault. Deputy met with the individual and noted that a report had already been taken in the active case.

 

10/12/2023

Deputies were called to the school in Dime Box on a report of a juvenile who had walked off campus. The juvenile returned to the school a short time later and was provided courtesy transport for additional services.

Caller requested a welfare check on her baby. Deputy made located and determined the child to be safe and secure.

Deputies responded to PR 3023 for a welfare check. All okay.

Motorist reported that he lost his 14' black bumper pull cattle trailer on Hwy 77 between La Grange and Giddings. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate. Information was shared with Fayette County SO.

Caller reported a poor looking horse near CR 226/US 290. The property is for sale. Deputy contacted the listed realtor to notify the owner.

Caller reported a female subject wandered onto his property on CR 304 requesting EMS. Deputies and Lee County EMS responded to the scene.

Deputy took report of criminal mischief from CR 326. A mailbox was damaged, and the area will be under close patrol.

Deputies responded to Hwy 290 East for a neighbor dispute.

 

10/13/2023

Citizen came in to report a hit-and-run that occurred on CR 226. Deputy took the information, and a report was made.

Deputies and Lee County EMS responded to a medical call on FM 141. One individual was deceased, and a death investigation was conducted.

Deputy responded to speak with two neighbors about goats roaming both properties.

Deputy removed debris from roadway at Hwy 77 South/CR 217.

Deputy assisted disabled delivery truck with traffic control on FM 448.

Caller reported suspicious vehicles driving slowly along CR 216. Deputy responded to check the area however the vehicles were gone upon arrival.

While on a close patrol, Deputy located an open gate at a property on CR 130. The property was checked, and the owner was notified.

Citizen reported a suspicious vehicle parked on CR 113. Deputy checked the area and located the vehicle and driver. Driver reported he had permission to hunt the property.

Caller came to the sheriff's office to report that she hadn't heard from her son in two days. Deputy assisted the citizen with setting up her phone so she could make phone calls.

 

10/14/2023

Citizen came to the sheriff's office to report items stolen documents. Deputy assisted the citizen locate the items in her car.

Deputy assisted with traffic control for a disabled vehicle on SH 21.

Deputy responded to apartment complex on Hwy 290 West on a report of a dog bite.

Caller report that his travel trailer and generator were on fire. Deputies responded to the scene on CR 415 East along with Lexington and Tanglewood VFDs.

Caller requested a welfare check on a male subject that is wandering around and mumbling to himself. Deputy responded and provided the individual with a courtesy ride.

Citizen reported loud music on CR 230. Deputy checked the area.

Deputy radioed in a fire on a porch at E. Cuero and Grimes St. Giddings VFD responded. The fire was extinguished.

Deputies responded to a verbal disturbance on CR 226. The involved parties were separated for the night with no further issues.

 

10/15/2023

Caller reported the neighbors were having a loud argument on Hwy 77 North. Deputies responded and spoke with the parties.

Deputy responded to CR 332 for a vehicle unlock.

While on patrol, Deputy was notified of a sink hole on FM 1624. TxDOT was notified.

Deputies responded to a residence on CR 118 after a theft in-progress was reported. The suspect vehicle was gone upon arrival. Evidence was fingerprinted at the scene and surveillance footage was obtained.

Deputies and Lee County EMS responded to CR 200 for a medical call. One male subject was deceased, and a death investigation was conducted.

Caller reported a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 77 North/CR 411. Deputies, Tanglewood VFD, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene.

Caller reported a black Ford F-150 that was driving reckless on his driveway. The suspect vehicle turned east onto Hwy 290 from FM 180. The information was shared with Fayette County SO.

Deputy assisted a disabled motorist on Hwy 290 West with traffic control and tire change.

Deputy checked on a stranded motorist on SH 21 at 3:00am. The driver was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Fort Bend County SO. Subject was taken into custody and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputies responded to PR 8063 for an assault. After locating the involved parties and conducting the investigation, one female was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

 

Lee County Deputies handled 24 loose livestock calls and conducted 100 traffic stops for this reporting period.
