10/2/2023

Deputy spoke with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office in reference to Theft of Service. Information was taken.

Caller requested a welfare check on an individual on CR 309. Deputy responded and made contact with the individual, who was okay.

Deputy met with a complainant on FM 696 East. A criminal trespass warning was issued.

Deputy assisted Giddings PD with a vehicle unlock.

Citizen requested to speak with a Deputy about trespassing. Information was taken.

Deputy checked the area of CR 121 and FM 141 for a suspicious vehicle. There was no vehicle in the area matching the description.

 

10/3/2023

Motorist reported a reckless driver on FM 112 with flashers on. Deputy checked the area but did not locate a vehicle matching the description. A different vehicle was located on the side of the road, and the driver advised they just pulled over to take a nap.

Deputies and Constables conducted a warrant service on two male subjects. They were taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail on multiple felony warrants.

Citizen came into the Sheriff's Office to report his grandson as a runaway. Deputy met with the complainant, and information was taken.

Caller advised that a suspicious vehicle was on CR 138 going to residences asking them if they want to buy asphalt. Deputy located the vehicle and subjects at Cefco. The subjects were identified and released.

Deputy met with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office in reference to a stolen gun. Information was taken.

Deputy was out with a vehicle on Hwy 77 south of Giddings city limits. Vehicle was off the roadway.

 

10/4/2023

Caller on CR 311 requested to speak to a deputy about threats he's received. Deputy met with the caller, and information was taken.

Deputies conducted a civil standby at a residence on FM 141. A criminal trespass warning was issued, and information was taken.

Resident stated that a suspicious vehicle was parked at the end of her driveway on CR 118.  Deputy responded and was advised by vehicle owner it broke down and was being towed.

Caller requested assistance on CR 419 near CR 320. Deputy responded and gave the individual a ride to Cefco in Lexington.

Deputy checked out with a female walking on the side of the roadway on Hwy 290 East. She advised she was walking home from the store and refused a courtesy ride.

Deputy met with a resident on Cherry Drive in reference to a possible break in. Residence was checked and everything was okay.

 

10/5/2023

Deputy observed a suspicious vehicle hooking up to a trailer on Hwy 290 East. Subject advised he was an employee. Everything was fine.

A one vehicle accident occurred on Hwy 21 East near the Burleson County line. Deputy made contact with the driver, who advised she was okay and waiting on a wrecker.

Constable stopped out with an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 77 near CR 223. Vehicle was off the roadway.

Deputies conducted a follow up on an event at Dime Box ISD.

Caller reported a baby buffalo loose on Hwy 21 West.  Deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the buffalo.

Complainant advised of a burn ban violation on CR 113. Deputy advised that the homeowner was burning in a covered barrel, but they would go ahead and put it out.

Deputies responded to the Bullpen for a suspicious vehicle. A search was conducted, and one occupant was found in possession. Subject was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

 

10/6/2023

Deputy checked out with a semi-truck on the side of the roadway on Hwy 77 at CR 412. Driver advised he was okay, just checking his phone.

Deputy was out with a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 290 East. Driver advised she was just going to work.

Motorist reported a reckless driver on Hwy 290 East coming into the county. Deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputy checked on a building with an open door on Knox Avenue in Dime Box. Everything was okay.

Citizen requested a deputy on CR 430 for animal cruelty. Deputy checked the animals and advised they had food and water.

Deputy met with a complainant on CR 320 in reference to theft. Information was taken.

Caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 290 passing FM 180. Deputy checked the area but did not see any vehicles matching the description.

Deputies responded to CR 326 for a welfare check. Contact was made with the subject, who advised she was okay.

Complainant on CR 118 advised of a break in at his residence. Deputy met with the complainant and information was taken.

Deputy spoke with a citizen in reference to a civil matter. Citizen was advised of his options.

Deputies responded twice to the Cefco parking lot for subjects arguing. Parties were separated and were waiting on a ride.

 

10/7/2023

Motorist reported a vehicle and cattle trailer blocking the roadway on FM 2239. Deputies assisted the driver in moving to a safer location to rest before continuing his travels.

Caller reported juveniles on an ATV driving recklessly on Bowers Street in Dime Box. Deputy checked the area but could not locate anyone on an ATV.

Deputy met with a complainant in Lincoln about an animal complaint. Deputy spoke with the neighbor with the aggressive dog and was advised she was working with the complainant to resolve the issue.

Deputies assisted Giddings PD with a one vehicle accident on North Main and Independence Street.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop on West Houston Street resulting in one subject being arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail.

Security Company requested a welfare check at Lexington Food Mart. Deputy responded and advised everything was secure.

 

10/8/2023

Caller advised that he put up his neighbor's cows on Hwy 21, and requested a deputy make contact with the owner about his fence. Deputy left voicemail for owner.

Deputy responded to a call about two suspicious vehicles on Hwy 77 near CR 455. The area was checked but no vehicles were located.

Resident on CR 309 reported a break in. Deputies responded and took one into custody. Subject was booked into the Lee County Jail.

 

Deputies responded to 39 loose livestock calls and made 101 traffic stops for this reporting period.
