9/25/2023

Motorist called in to report that he hit a deer on Hwy 77 near FM 1624. Deputy responded and made a crash report.

Caller requested a Deputy investigate a stolen item that was delivered. Information taken.

Motorist reported boxes all over Hwy 77. Deputies responded as the owner returned to clear the roadway.

Deputy assisted a disabled motorist on Hwy 77/Yegua Creek. Driver was given a courtesy ride to get fuel.

Caller requested a Deputy due to him being blackmailed. Information taken.

Deputy responded to a business in Giddings for a vehicle unlock.

Deputy checked on a reported reckless driver on Hwy 21. All okay.

 

9/26/2023

Deputy checked on an abandoned vehicle that appeared to have hit a deer on FM 696 West. Vehicle was red tagged for removal after 48 hours.

Motorist reported an 18-wheeler blocking the roadway on FM 1697. Deputies responded but the vehicle was gone upon arrival.

Citizen reported a suspicious male subject walking on FM 2440. Deputy located the subject and made a welfare check. The individual had broken down and was given a courtesy ride.

Deputy made a traffic stop and upon further investigation a fictitious license plate and narcotics were located. One subject arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on FM 696. The suspect is to be issued a criminal trespass notice.

Deputy responded to a residence in Giddings for a vehicle unlock.

Citizen requested to meet with a Deputy in reference to fraudulent activity. Deputy responded to investigate and make a report.

Deputies responded to FM 141 in regard to suspicious activity.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Hwy 290 East.

A disabled motorist called for help with a flat tire. Deputies responded and gave the woman and children a courtesy ride to the travel plaza to await the wrecker service.

 

9/27/2023

Deputy was working in the Lexington Elementary School zone and observed a disabled vehicle that was blocking traffic. Sheriff and Lexington PD units arrived to assist.

Sheriff was advised of a burn ban violation on CR 118. Deputy responded to investigate.

Citizen reported two dogs that were dumped on CR 143. The on-duty Deputies were unable to transport the animals. The caller would take the dogs to the shelter.

Caller reported animal cruelty on Hwy 77 North, just south of Lexington. Deputy made location and determined that the horse was recently purchased; and had feed and water.

Deputies responded to a business on Hwy 290 East in reference to a suspicious person.

Deputy checked on a disabled motorist at Hwy 77/CR 114. The driver was okay and had stopped to rest. The Deputy had the motorist relocate to a safer location.

Dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from CR 430. Dispatch could hear a disturbance in the background. Deputies responded but were unable to locate. The caller contacted Dispatch back to inform that she no longer needed a Deputy and hung up the phone.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop on CR 103 for a violation. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant. One subject arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

Deputy located and removed debris from roadway at Hwy 21/CR 107.

 

9/28/2023

Game Warden advised of loose dogs in the area of CR 326/327. The information for the owner was shared with Dispatch. The owner is attempting to round up the dogs.

Citizen from FM 1624 called to report four stray donkeys on her property. Deputy gathered information for an estray livestock report.

Caller reported that he had received threatening text messages. Deputy responded to investigate.

Caller requested to speak with a Deputy in reference to child custody issues.

Motorist reported a vehicle that crashed on Hwy 77/FM 3403. Deputies responded and located the crash and property damages. At the conclusion of the crash investigation, the driver was arrested for narcotics and transported to the Lee County Jail.

Caller from FM 180 reported someone shining a red light in her window. A Deputy patrolled the area but was unable to locate anything.

Caller from Hwy 77 North reported someone messing with her trailer. Deputies responded to the scene, however the caller said she did not want any contact or investigation.

 

9/29/2023

Constable Pct. 3 shared information he received in regard to starving horses on CR 439. Deputy responded to the scene to investigate. The horses had feed and water.

Deputies responded to the S-curve on FM 141 for a disabled 18-wheeler.

Caller wished to speak with a Deputy about a child custody issue. The matter was documented for the caller.

Caller reported locks cut and items missing from her property on CR 233. Deputies responded to investigate, and information was taken for a report.

Motorist reported a vehicle traveling on Hwy 290 West without rear lights. Deputy was able to locate the vehicle to make a traffic stop and warn the driver of the issue.

 

9/30/2023

Deputy responded to a burn ban violation on CR 130.

Hearne Police Department requested a welfare check on a resident on CR 123.

Motorist reported that she was driving and felt that she could pass out. Caller was advised to pull over at the nearest intersection on FM 696 East. As a Deputy was responding, the caller called back to request EMS.

 

10/1/2023

Citizen reported an injured deer on CR 201. Deputy responded to the scene to put down the animal.

Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire on PR 8028. Dime Box VFD and Deputies responded to the scene.

Deputy located a man sitting at the Hwy 77/Hwy 21 underpass. The subject was trying to get to Victoria, TX. Deputy provided a courtesy ride to Fayette County.

Caller reported his flatbed trailer was stolen from CR 236 overnight. Deputy responded to investigate and make a theft report.

Deputy assisted a motorist by blocking lane of traffic on Hwy 290 West for a tire change.

Citizen called to report he is missing a bull with an orange ear tag from the area of FM 696/CR 305.

Deputy responded to a report of a dog that attacked another dog on CR 127.

Deputies responded to CR 307 to assist a mental health consumer with transport to a facility.

Deputies responded to Hwy 77 South to assist a mental health consumer with transport to a facility.

Deputies responded to 27 loose livestock calls and made 102 traffic stops for this reporting period.

 

 

We look forward to visiting with everyone at our National Night Out festivities this week. I encourage everyone to get to know your neighbors and be vigilant in looking out for each other. We have experienced some thefts lately. Please report suspicious activities. If you see something, say something.
