9/18/2023 - 9/24/2023


 

9/18/2023

Deputy located and dealt with a burn ban violation on CR 471.

Deputy responded to FM 2440 in regard to a criminal trespass notice.

Citizen called to report someone attempting to steal money from their account. Deputy investigated and made a report.

Deputies responded to a convenience store on SH 21 to conduct a welfare check on a mental health consumer. All okay.

Dispatch received a 911 call report of a one vehicle crash on CR 309. Deputies and Troopers responded to the scene to work the crash.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop on US 290 West. After further investigation, a probable cause search was conducted; with marihuana, mushrooms, and THC wax located. One male subject was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on FM 141. The parties were separated for the night, as the matter was verbal only.

 

9/19/2023

Deputy responded to Westwood Lane on a report of theft of air conditioner units.

Caller reported a fight in progress at an RV park on Hwy 77 North between multiple people with guns involved. Deputies and Troopers responded to quell the disturbance. The suspect was identified, and an arrest warrant was obtained. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and transported to the Lee County Jail.

 

9/20/2023

Caller reported a reckless driver on CR 326 driving at a high rate of speed. Deputy obtained the license plate # and made contact with the individual.

Complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to report her ex-boyfriend had stolen her vehicle. Information was taken and the vehicle was entered stolen.

Deputy spoke to a citizen on CR 430 regarding a stray dog on her property that interferes with her livestock.

Dispatch received a 911 call advising of a male subject breaking into a house on CR 233. This call was deemed to be related to the previous report of a stolen vehicle. Sheriff, Deputies, Constable Pct. 2, Troopers, and Giddings PD responded. The suspect left the scene prior to arrival headed toward Fayette County. The suspect was located and arrested by Fayette County SO.

Deputies assisted with a semi that was broken down at the intersection of 290/77.

Deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at a business on US 290 East.

Citizen reported a crash on SH 21 West. Deputies and Troopers responded to investigate.

Caller requested a welfare check on her friend who lives in Lexington. Deputy responded and deemed all to be okay; the individual did not wish to speak with her friend.

 

9/21/2023

Citizen reported an abandoned vehicle parked on FM 3403. Deputy responded and the vehicle was towed.

Sheriff, Deputies, Troopers, and GPD assisted GISD with lock-down drills at all campuses.

Deputies responded to a residence on Hwy 77 North where a citizen reported being shot at with a BB gun. Deputies investigated and made a report.

Deputy responded to business on Hwy 290 West to investigate and take report of theft of plant racks.

Deputies responded to an address in Dime Box in regard to a civil child custody matter.

Caller requested a welfare check on her brother at a residence in Lexington. Deputies made contact with the subject. All okay.

Citizen reported several stray dogs near her residence in Lexington. Deputy responded to check the area; however the animals were not located. Information passed along to Lexington animal control.

 

9/22/2023

Motorist reported a female walking with a baby stroller on SH 21. Deputies located the mother and provided a courtesy ride and assisted with her broken down vehicle.

Caller reported horses on her property that do not belong to her on CR 412.

Chief Deputy received a call in regard to a one vehicle crash on FM 180. Deputies responded to investigate and take a crash report.

Deputies responded to a residence on FM 1697 to assist EMS with gaining entry into a residence to assist an individual requiring medical assistance.

Deputy responded to assist a motorist on Hwy 77 North with a vehicle unlock.

 

9/23/2023

Complainant called to report theft of mail. Deputy responded to investigate and make a report.

Dispatch received a call from a complainant stating she was shot at while attempting to serve civil process papers to an individual on CR 105. Deputies responded to the scene, where the property owner was located and identified. Case remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to a trespass call on FM 696 West. Matter was deemed civil in nature. A civil stand-by will be done in the future.

Caller reported someone driving and shooting on her property on CR 223. Deputies responded to investigate and make a report.

Deputy initiated a traffic stop for a violation in Giddings. The driver failed to yield to the emergency vehicle continued on before stopping at a residence. The suspect was combative and non-compliant with the Deputy. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

Dispatch received a call in regard to a disturbance in Lexington. Deputies responded and quelled the matter which was verbal only.

Individual surrendered himself at the Sheriff's Office on an outstanding felony warrant. Subject was booked into the Lee County Jail.

Motorist reported he ran out of gas on Hwy 77 North / CR 405. Deputy responded to assist.

 

9/24/2023

Caller reported a reckless driver on FM 696 West swerving on the roadway. Game Warden was in the area and stopped the vehicle.

Deputy spoke with a citizen on FM 3403 in regard to Estray livestock. Livestock transported to Livestock Barn in Giddings.

Caller from CR 411 reported several stray dogs on her property. Deputy responded and was advised that the Giddings Animal Shelter had no vacancy. Caller would be taking the dogs to a shelter in Austin.

Motorist reported a one vehicle crash at FM 141 / CR 119. Deputies responded to investigate and make a crash report.

Caller reported a suspicious male subject who had walked out of the woods on FM 1624. Deputy made location and identified the individual who resides in the area and was walking to the store.

Deputies handled 25 loose livestock calls and made 48 traffic stops this reporting period.

 

 

I would like to remind our citizens of the medication disposal drop-box in front of the Sheriff's Office. This is a free service to the public and a safe means of proper disposal for prescriptions.
