8/14/2023

Deputy responded to Giddings to assist with a vehicle unlock.

Deputies conducted close patrols for traffic enforcement on FM 141 in Dime Box.

Deputy removed debris from roadway on SH 21/CR 113.

Deputy responded to CR 430 to investigate a damaged mailbox. A criminal mischief report was taken.

Deputy responded to burn ban violation on CR 230.

Citizen report of an abandoned motorcycle on private property. Deputy responded to investigate.

Deputy assisted LPD and LCEMS with an uncooperative patient.

Subject surrendered at the Sheriff's Office on active warrant. Deputy booked-in the individual to the Lee County Jail.

Citizen report of a burn ban violation on East SH 21. Deputy responded but was unable to locate.

Deputies, Tanglewood, Lexington, and Dime Box VFD's responded to a grass fire that was found to be a structure fire. Structure was vacant. Report taken.

 

8/15/2023

Citizen report of an abandoned vehicle on CR 118. Deputy responded and found the vehicle to be reported stolen out of Milam County. Vehicle recovered and report taken.

Deputy removed a tree branch from the roadway on CR 133.

Deputies assisted GPD with a welfare concern in Giddings.

Deputies and Dime Box VFD responded to a grass fire on FM 141.

Deputy assisted Milam County with information on a wanted subject.

Citizen report of coyotes in their back yard on CR 405. Deputy responded to ensure that the coyotes didn't kill any chickens.

 

8/16/2023

Deputies responded to a disturbance on CR 446. Constable Pct. 2, Troopers, and Lexington PD assisted at the scene.

Complainant came to the Sheriff's Office for a Criminal Trespass Warning.

Citizen came to the Sheriff's Office to inquire about child safety seat laws.

Complainant came back to the Sheriff's Office to remove a Criminal Trespass Warning.

Deputies and Criminal Investigators responded to storage units on Hwy 77 North for report of numerous burglaries.

Deputies, Giddings PD Officers, and Troopers responded to an alarm at the Courts Building. One individual was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail without incident.

Citizen reported finding a dog with collar and tag. Dispatch was able to contact the owner who was re-united with their animal.

Report of a raccoon outside of a business in Giddings. Information forwarded to GPD.

Deputies responded to a business in Lexington for a verbal disturbance. No offense, parties were separated without further incident.

Deputy conducted a motorist assist on Hwy 77 South of Lexington.

 

8/17/2023

Deputy conducted follow investigation with Child Protective Services.

Deputies responded to an apartment complex for a verbal disturbance. No offense, parties were separated without further incident.

Caller reported a large grass fire on FM 141 near CR 432. Sheriff, Deputies, and Dime Box VFD responded to the scene.

Deputy responded to CR 430 for a report of a damaged gate. Report taken.

Deputies responded to a crash report on Hwy 77 South of Giddings. The driver was located and DPS took a crash report.

Deputy removed a deer carcass from the roadway on Hwy 77 North of Nails Creek.

 

8/18/2023

Deputies conducted multiple close patrols of local storage unit facilities.

Deputy assisted a motorist on FM 141 with a tire change.

Deputy checked on a motorist that had a trailer chain dragging. The problem was fixed.

Deputy located a school bus blocking the Blue VFD bay doors. Problem was resolved.

Deputy responded to a business in Giddings to assist a motorist with a vehicle unlock.

Deputy conducted a follow up investigation with Child Protective Services.

Deputy assisted a stranded motorist at SH 21/CR 440.

Deputy removed debris from roadway on Hwy 77 North.

Deputies responded to a verbal disturbance on FM 3403. No offense. Parties separated without further incident.

Bastrop County SO reported a wrong-way driver on Hwy 290 West. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate.

 

8/19/2023

Deputies responded to FM 3403 for a one vehicle rollover crash with no driver on scene. During the investigation, Deputies located an individual and discovered stolen property reported out of Austin. Stolen property recovered and report taken.

Motorist report of a jack-knifed 18-wheeler at SH 21/FM 1624. Deputies responded to find traffic backed up, however the 18-wheeler was gone upon arrival.

Citizen made a request for traffic control on FM 696 West. Deputy responded to assist.

Deputy responded to a business in Lexington for a vehicle unlock.

Deputies responded to a business in Lexington for a report of theft.

Deputy made a transport for a crisis intervention to an out-of-county facility.

Report of a suspicious male subject hanging out at a Lexington business at closing time that night. Sheriff and Deputies responded and located the subject. The individual was issued a Criminal Trespass Notice and given a courtesy ride.

Deputy responded to a report of a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks on FM 141 in Dime Box. Union Pacific was notified to stop the train until a Deputy and wrecker service could make location. The vehicle was removed without incident.

Sheriff checked out on a suspicious vehicle at a storage facility in Lexington. All okay.

Alarm at store in Lexington. Sheriff responded and found it to be secure.

 

8/20/2023

Complainant came by the Sheriff's Office to speak with a Deputy regarding an incident. Information was taken for a report.

Caller reported a water leak at FM 180/CR 119. Lee County Water was notified.

Caller reported a missing dog with a GPS tracker on CR 452. Deputy responded to assist and make a report.

Caller requested a Deputy for a child custody incident on FM 2440. A Deputy responded to assist, and a report was made.

Deputy responded to Hwy 290 East to assist GPD with transporting individuals to the Lee County Jail.

Deputies responded to CR 103 for a disturbance. No offense.

Deputy checked on a motorist at SH 21/CR 327 who had run out of fuel.

Deputy removed a hog carcass from FM 141/CR 121.

Deputies checked on a report of an open door at a Church in Tanglewood. All okay.

Caller from Main Street in Lexington reported an animal problem. Information was referred to Lexington PD.

Lee County Deputies responded to 22 reports of loose livestock for this reporting period.

 

 

We strongly advise everyone to abide by the burn ban that is in effect. Pray for rain and continue to support our local volunteer fire departments. Best wishes to all of our local school football and volleyball teams, bands, cheerleaders, and drill teams for a successful season!
