8/7/2023

Deputy checked on an abandoned vehicle at SH 21/CR 326. All okay.

Reported tree down on CR 309/CR 316. Deputies responded and removed tree and debris from roadway with citizen assistance.

Deputy conducted traffic stop on Hwy 290 East. One female arrested for possession of marihuana and transported to Lee County Jail without incident.

 

8/8/2023

Motorist report of stalled 18-wheeler on SH 21/CR 402. Deputies responded for traffic safety until a wrecker could make scene.

Citizen called to make fraud report. Investigator took the report.

Citizen called to make harassment report. Investigator took the report.

Report of dogs tearing up trash on Hwy 290 East. Deputy spoke with the complainant.

Deputy conducted traffic control for a disabled motorist on Hwy 77 for a tire change.

Citizen report of 3 juveniles throwing objects at passing vehicles on Hwy 77 North in Lexington near the Vet Clinic. Deputies responded to the scene and took information for a criminal mischief report. This incident took place shortly after midnight.

 

8/9/2023

Deputy assisted Bluebonnet out on FM 696 West with traffic control.

Deputies and Investigators responded to a CPR in progress call which resulted in an inquest.

Sheriff called for a wrecker for the abandoned vehicle on SH 21/CR 326. Vehicle removed.

Deputies responded to a disturbance near the Tanglewood VFD. Unable to locate parties involved.

 

8/10/2023

Deputy and Blue VFD responded to FM 696 West for a one-vehicle crash vs. deer.

Citizen report of reckless driving on FM 141. A Close Patrol has been set up for the "S" curves in Dime Box. Deputies will be conducting traffic enforcement in the area.

Deputies responded to CR 433 to investigate an animal cruelty case. Report made.

Deputy responded to Dime Box to speak with an individual about a drainage ditch on FM 141.

Citizen came to the Office to report a theft. Deputy met with complainant and took information for a report.

Citizen report of credit card fraud. Deputy met with the complainant and took information.

Citizen came to the Sheriff's Office to request a Criminal Trespass Warning. Deputy met with and assisted the individual.

Deputy assisted a citizen with an abandoned dog on CR 217.

State Parole called requesting a welfare check on an individual on FM 141. Deputies responded but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputy spoke with a citizen on the phone in regard to a civil matter.

 

8/11/2023

Deputy assisted a citizen with aggressive dogs on their property.

Deputies responded to FM 180 for a welfare check. All was okay.

Citizen called requesting a Criminal Trespass Warning. Deputy spoke with and assisted the individual with this matter.

Investigator took a Theft of Livestock report from CR 119.

Citizen report of Fraud. A Deputy met with complainant and took information for a report.

Report of reckless driving on FM 696 West. A Deputy searched the area but was unable to locate the black in color Jeep Wrangler.

Deputy met with an individual regarding a civil standby.

Motorist report of abandoned vehicle at Hwy 77/CR 327. Deputy responded to find vehicle being removed by owner.

Report of child custody matter on CR 127. Information taken.

Deputy initiated a traffic stop on FM 696 West for a speeding violation. The suspect motorcycle was traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour and was stopped on FM 619. Subject taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail.

Citizen called to report a civil matter in Lexington. Deputy took information.

 

8/12/2023

Motorist report of an individual in a wheelchair next to the road at Hwy 77 north of Lexington. Deputy made scene and contacted the individual who was okay.

Caller from CR B reported gunfire. A Deputy responded and patrolled the area.

Deputies assisted GPD in locating a hit-and-run vehicle that was previously involved in a crash in Washington County. The vehicle was located without incident.

Report of a two-vehicle crash Hwy 290 West/FM 180. Deputies responded to work the scene. There were no reported injuries and vehicles were off the roadway.

Report of a verbal disturbance at a Lexington business between a customer and an employee. Deputy responded and quelled the matter.

Motorist report of reckless driver on FM 696 West. Deputies were unable to locate.

While at the SLCVFD fundraiser, Pct. 2 Constable and the Sheriff were informed of a crash on CR 213. Pct. 2, Sheriff, and a Deputy responded to CR 213 to work a single vehicle rollover crash. No injuries reported.

Deputies responded to CR 430 where a citizen made several 9-1-1 calls reporting the attempted theft of his truck. Deputies responded and there were no signs of criminal activity. Caller was warned of the consequences of Abuse of 9-1-1.

 

8/13/2023

A citizen on CR B reported finding a bullet on their property. A Deputy responded to investigate.

Report of a vehicle fire on CR 430. Deputies, DBVFD, and GVFD responded to the scene.

Burleson ER called to report an animal bite that occurred on CR 405. Matter handled by a Deputy.

Deputies responded to Ave. D in regard to a civil matter. All okay.

Citizen report of underage drinking on CR 305. Deputy responded to the area and took information. Matter is being investigated.

Deputies and the DBVFD were dispatched to a Burn Ban violation on PR 4242. Fire was extinguished and the violator was cited for the violation.

Citizen from Dime Box requested to speak to a Deputy about a water leak.

 

 

There have been numerous reports of reckless driving; CR 133, CR 107, FM 141, and FM 696 West. Expect to see an increase in our traffic enforcement in these areas. This is another reminder to be mindful of all of our School Zones and School Buses loading/unloading our precious cargo. There is zero-tolerance for these types of violations. May everyone have a safe and successful school year!
