 July 10, 2023

Deputy Dickerson assisted Lexington PD in locating a subject involved in a physical disturbance. The subject was located in a vehicle on Hwy 77 near FM 1624. Contact was made with the occupants by Deputy Dickerson, Constable Gonzales and Trooper Silva. The subjects were released.

A complainant reported that someone stole mail from her residence on PR 7707. She advised that the post office did not have the mail. Deputy Dickerson spoke with the complainant, who did not want a report at the time. She stated she just wanted it documented that mail theft was in the area.

Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 21 East in Lincoln for a suspicious vehicle. The caller stated that a black Dodge was in the driveway of the residence with flashers on, and the door to the property was open. The deputies checked the property, and nothing appeared to be disturbed.

Dispatch received a call about an 18-wheeler stalled partially in the roadway on Hwy 21 near CR 107. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson arrived on scene and advised the 18-wheeler had a flat. The driver was able to move the vehicle to a safe location.

A complainant stated that a vehicle was abandoned on his construction job site on CR 313 and wanted to know what he could do. Deputy Eickenhorst responded and attempted to locate the vehicle, but it was no longer there.

 

July 11, 2023

A male subject came into the Sheriff's Office to turn himself in on a warrant. The subject was booked into the Lee County Jail without incident.

Deputy Dudley was dispatched to PR 2093 to meet with a resident in reference to a missing person. The resident stated that his son was missing, and his last known location was at the Wal-Mart in Manor. Contact was attempted to be made with the son but the phone was turned off. Information was taken, and the son was entered in as a missing person.

A caller reported a one vehicle rollover accident on FM 112 near CR 314. The driver of the vehicle was out and appeared to be okay. Deputy Dudley and Lexington PD responded to the accident along with EMS and Lexington VFD. The property owner was notified of the fence damage. Information was taken for a crash report.

Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to Hwy 21 at CR 401 for a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were off the roadway. Information was taken for a crash report.

The resident from PR 2093 advised the Sheriff's Office that his son was back home. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the son, who advised he was okay. Information was taken to update the report.

A 911 caller advised of a reckless driver traveling westbound on Hwy 290. The vehicle was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and traveling at a high rate of speed. The caller also advised that the vehicle was passing traffic on the shoulder. Cpl. Ellington, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst responded, and the vehicle was located by Giddings PD. Deputy E. Hilmo assisted with the traffic stop.

Cpl. Ellington assisted Giddings PD with a 911 call at the Rolling Oaks Apartments. The caller advised that her fiancé assaulted her after an argument. The deputy assisted until everything was okay.

 

July 12, 2023

Dispatch received a report about suspicious activity at an address on Hwy 77 North. Cpl. Ellington, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst responded to the call. After further investigation, the owner called dispatch advising that she has an employee that stays on location. Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo spoke with the employee on scene, and advised there were no signs of suspicious activity.

Deputy Haman met with a complaint at the Sheriff's Office in reference to theft. The complainant stated that her wallet was stolen, and she needed to make a report. Information was taken for a report.

A caller from CR 314 in Lexington requested to speak to a deputy about the 18-wheelers driving back and forth to the new water plant. Deputy Haman responded and spoke with the site supervisor. No report at this time.

A manager at Bubba's Truck Stock advised Deputy Brown of a vehicle that had been parked in the parking lot for about two weeks. The deputy attempted to make contact with the company that owned the vehicle, but no contact could be made. The manager was advised they could have the vehicle towed.

A resident on CR 309 requested a deputy to make contact with him about an event that occurred the night before. Deputy Haman responded, and a criminal trespass warning was issued. No report at this time.

A caller advised that he had been rear ended while pulling into a driveway on FM 141. There were no injuries, and the vehicles were off the roadway. Sgt. West, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to the call. The vehicles were drivable, and a crash report was taken.

A male subject approached Deputy Crenshaw at Bubba's Truck Stop and advised him that he was assaulted by his girlfriend while they were driving. Deputy J. Hilmo responded to assist. The female was taken arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking. Information was taken for a report.

A resident on CR 127 advised that a female subject was on the property causing a problem and banging on his door. Sgt. West and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to the call, but the female subject left prior to their arrival. There was damage to the door, but the resident did not want to press charges or make a report.

 

July 13, 2023

A motorist reported a female subject walking along the roadway on Hwy 290 West near Altman Plants. The motorist also advised that the subject was trying to flag vehicles down. Sgt. West and Deputy Crenshaw located the female, who was identified and given a courtesy ride to Bastrop County.

Deputy Haman was out at an address on CR 107 to issue a criminal trespass warning. The warning was issued without incident.

Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman, Deputy Brown, Const. Gonzales and Trooper Silva responded to a call about a stolen trailer traveling southbound on Hwy 77. The caller with JP Hunt stated that the trailer was taken without permission from the Fort Worth area. The truck and trailer were stopped on Hwy 77 near the intersection of Hwy 21. The trailer was confirmed to be the one taken. The driver was released, and a report was taken.

Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Brown and Trooper Silva were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on FM 112 just outside of Lexington. Lexington VFD and EMS also responded to the call. Owen's took possession of one vehicle that was not drivable. DPS took the crash report.

A caller from Hwy 21 East request a vehicle unlock. Deputy Brown responded and was able to unlock the vehicle.

Sgt. Strouth was dispatched to an address on East Austin Street in Giddings for a vehicle unlock. The deputy was able to unlock the vehicle.

A motorist advised that an 18-wheeler hauling hay was traveling northbound on Hwy 77 and losing its load. Giddings PD advised that the 18-wheeler was parked in a parking lot near Hwy 290 on Hwy 77. Deputy J. Hilmo responded to the location. B&M attempted to assist with shifting the load but was unable to do so. The 18-wheeler would remain in the parking lot overnight until someone could assist with the load.

A caller advised that he thought he heard something hitting a window at the church on CR 309. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and spoke the caller who advised there was no suspicious activity. The deputy checked the area and found the same.

 

July 14, 2023

A motorist reported a one vehicle accident with injuries on Hwy 77 South at CR 223. The driver was out of the vehicle, and there was significant guard rail damage. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded to the accident along with Giddings VFD and EMS. A crash report was taken.

Bastrop County advised that one of their units was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle on Hwy 21 West traveling eastbound. Speeds are at 110. At the time of the call, they were passing Stockade Ranch Road in Paige. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson were enroute to Hwy 21 and Hwy 77 to set up spikes. At 06:54, Bastrop units lost sight of the vehicle on FM 1624 and believed the vehicle may be heading south towards Giddings. At 06:58, a Giddings PD unit spotted the vehicle eastbound on Houston Street. The unit advised that the vehicle was driving recklessly through town. Two subjects, a male and a female, fled on foot at Houston Street and PR 6025 towards the railroad tracks. The subjects were detained and transported to Paige for a Bastrop County unit to take custody of them.

Bastrop County advised that units were in pursuit of another stolen vehicle. At the time of call, the vehicle was passing Hwy 290 on Hwy 21 traveling eastbound. Sheriff Durrenberger, Trooper Silva and Lexington Officer Reyna were enroute to assist. Bastrop County lost sight of the vehicle at FM 1624. At 07:57, a Giddings PD unit spotted the vehicle on Caldwell Street, and DPS located the stolen vehicle. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson assisted with locating a third suspect, who was believed to be related to one of the subjects from the previous pursuit. However, units were unable to locate the subject. Giddings PD had both vehicles towed to their impound yard. Information was taken for a report.

Deputy Webber was dispatched to a job site on FM 180 for harassment. The complainant stated that a female subject was talking up to the job site and harassing his workers. The deputy spoke with the complainant, and attempted to make contact with the female but she was not home at the time.

Dispatch received a call about a rollover accident on FM 112 at CR 314. The caller stated that all occupants appeared to have been out of the vehicle. Deputy Dudley, Deputy Dickerson and Lexington Officer Reyna responded to the accident along with Lexington VFD and EMS. A crash report was taken.

A complainant from FM 180 requested to speak with a deputy about credit card fraud. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the complainant, and information was taken for a report.

Deputy Dudley was dispatched to a residence on CR 449 for a welfare check. A daughter advised that she hadn't heard from her mother in two days and wanted a deputy to check on her. The deputy made contact with the mother, who advised she was okay and would contact her daughter.

Dispatch received a report about a cow out near the roadway on Hwy 77 North near FM 1624. Cpl. Ellington checked the area but could not locate any loose livestock.

Deputy E. Hilmo checked out with a motorist assist in the 2300 block of FM 180. The driver was changing a tire on the trailer. The deputy remained on scene until the vehicle was back on the road.

Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst responded to a call on Rolling Oaks Drive to assist Giddings PD with a disturbance. The caller stated that she was being attacked by another female and had been bitten as well. EMS was dispatched to check assess the victim. Giddings PD worked the scene.

 

July 15, 2023

Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to a call about a suspicious vehicle on CR 316 at CR 314. While the units were responded, dispatch received a call from the driver of the vehicle who stated he was sitting in his vehicle at the intersection when two teenagers drove by in a white truck and threw something at his vehicle. The deputies met with the driver and information was taken for criminal mischief.

Deputy Dickerson checked out with a male subject that was running into traffic on Hwy 290 West near the Travel Plaza. When the deputy tried to make contact, the subject took off on foot. Cpl. Ellington, Deputy Dudley and Giddings PD assisted with locating the subject but were unable to locate him.

Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 East near FM 180. Both occupants had outstanding warrants out of Lakeway PD. The warrants were confirmed, and both subjects were taken into custody. Deputy Dudley assisted Deputy Dickerson with transporting the subjects to the Lee County Jail for booking.

Giddings PD requested EMS at an address on Main Street for a patient who stated that an 18-wheeler ran over his foot and left southbound on Hwy 77. They also requested that a deputy attempt to locate the 18-wheeler. Deputy Dudley checked Hwy 77 from Giddings to the Fayette County line but could not locate the 18-wheeler.

Deputy E. Hilmo spoke with a complainant from FM 141 about being harassed on social media. The complainant was advised to go to the Sheriff's Office to make a report. She advised she was out of town at the time and would come by the office when she is back in town.

Cpl. Ellington, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst assisted Giddings PD at the Country Inn with an assault. Giddings PD took one male subject into custody, and he was booked into the Lee County Jail.

A resident from PR 6002 advised that her son assaulted her and there were weapons in the home. Cpl. Ellington, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst responded to the call, and the parties were separated. The male subject was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking. Information was taken for a report.

Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to Lexington Food Mart for a welfare check. The alarm company advised that the closing alarm had not been activated yet. The deputy checked the property, and advised no suspicious activity was found. Everything was secure.

 

July 16, 2023

Dispatch received a 911 call transfer from Bastrop County from a caller reporting a subject lying on the side of the road on FM 696. Deputy Dickerson and Deputy L. Brown responded to the call and advised that the subject was deceased. Sheriff Durrenberger and Lt. Adams responded to the scene. Information was gathered for a report.

A complainant requested a deputy to meet with her at an address on PR 5000. The complainant stated that someone went into her car and took money from her purse. Deputy L. Brown responded and was told by people in the area that the complainant left 15 minutes prior to his arrival. Contact was made with the complainant, who advised she would come by the Sheriff's Office to make a report.

Deputy Dickerson, DPS Cpl. Pennartz and Trooper Thomas responded to a call on Hwy 77 South for an assault. The caller stated that her estranged husband assaulted her and her daughter before leaving the residence. The caller requested EMS for her daughter.  DPS located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The husband advised that he and the wife's boyfriend were the ones who got into the altercation. The boyfriend was nowhere to be found on scene. There were no visible signs of injuries on the wife and daughter, but they were transferred to the ER.

A third party caller advised that she received a call from her niece stating that her parents were fighting. Deputy Dickerson and Deputy L. Brown responded to the call on Cherry Drive, and the parties were separated for the night.

Deputy E. Hilmo conducted a traffic stop On Hwy 290 East in front of Funtown RV. After further investigation, the deputy found probable cause to search the vehicle, and requested another unit. Cpl. Ellington and Giddings PD responded to assist. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

A 911 caller advised that he came up on a one-vehicle rollover accident on CR 419. The caller could see a trail of blood, but no one was on scene. Cpl. Ellington, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst responded to the call along with DPS Cpl. Pennartz and Trooper Thomas. Tanglewood VFD and EMS were also dispatched to the scene. Deputy E. Hilmo made contact with the driver's son at their residence, and he confirmed his father was involved in an accident. The deputy took the driver back to the scene, and he was cited.
