June 26 - July 2, 2023

 

 June 26, 2023

02:04 - A motorist reported a vehicle on the side of the road on FM 141 just south of CR 430 with flashers on and a female subject trying to flag motorists down. Deputy J. Brown checked the area from Hwy 21 to FM 1697 and was unable to locate the vehicle or female.

03:25 - Deputy J. Brown checked out with an 18-wheeler on the side of the road on Hwy 21 in front of Bubba's Truck Stop. The driver advised he pulled over to take a nap. The deputy advised him to park in the parking lot of the store to be safely off the roadway.

07:18 - Deputy E. Hilmo checked out with two juveniles at the Blue Fire Station. They advised they were waiting for their summer school bus.

07:32 - A motorist reported an injured deer on CR 402 just off of Hwy 21. Cpl. Ellington responded and dispatched the deer.

09:08 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to report that an 800lb black angus calf is missing from her property located on PR 8001 in Dime Box. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the complainant, and information was taken for a report.

10:37 - Deputy L. Brown was dispatched to a residence on CR 454 to meet with a complainant. She stated that a male subject stole her car, phone and money from the residence. Information was gathered for a report.

12:07 - Giddings PD transferred a call regarding a brown pitbull that was running in and out of traffic on Hwy 77 South near PR 7703. Cpl. Ellington checked the area but could not locate the dog.

14:38 - A caller advised of a juvenile walking along FM 696 West near Sherrill Lane. Deputy E. Hilmo and Lexington Officers Reyna and Cox located the juvenile, who advised she was just walking home.

15:09 - Deputy E. Hilmo and Troopers Pennartz, Thomas and Ledesma were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of CR 307 and CR 311No injuries were reported but the vehicles were blocking the roadway. DPS took the crash report.

18:01 - A 911 caller reported two possible intoxicated males at the entrance of Cefco in Lexington. Chief Garza and Officer Cox responded to the call. Deputy Dudley also responded to assist. Everything was okay upon their arrival.

18:17 - Sgt. Holloway responded to a call about a female subject walking along FM 180 towards Hwy 290 with a black dog. The caller stated that the subject was jumping in front of traffic in an attempt to get a ride. Sgt. Holloway checked FM 180 from Hwy 290 to Nails Creek State Park and could not locate the subject.

18:44 - Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Dudley assisted a motorist on Hwy 77 near FM 3403 with traffic control.

20:57 - Dispatch received a 911 call from Rolling Oaks Apartments about an intoxicated female threatening to kill herself. The caller advised that the subject did have a gun on her person. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Deputy Dickerson and Troopers Pennartz, Thomas and Ledesma responded to assist Giddings PD. Deputy Dudley assisted with clearing the apartment and the female was located. Giddings PD took over, and all Lee County units went back in service.

21:21 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to FM 2440 near CR 104 for a horse out. The deputy checked both roadways but was unable to locate the horse.

 

June 27, 2023

01:38 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Austin Street. After further investigation, the deputy found probable cause to conduct a search. Marijuana was located during the search. The driver was transported and booked into the Lee County Jail. A report was also taken.

01:39 - Deputy Dudley advised he was out with two suspicious vehicles in the parking lot of the Giddings High School. Both vehicles were secured and unoccupied.

06:45 - Dispatch was advised by Deputy E. Hilmo he was out with a motorist on Hwy 290 at FM 180. The driver advised they had a flat tire, and the vehicle was off the roadway.

07:23 - A caller reported an abandoned vehicle on Deerwood Driver that was parked halfway in the roadway. The caller stated that the vehicle had been there for a few hours. Deputy L. Brown was dispatched and checked the area but could not locate the vehicle.

08:53 - Cpl. Ellington was dispatched to CR 114 for a loose cow. The area was checked but the deputy could not locate any loose livestock.

09:52 - Two complainants came to the Sheriff's Office to speak with a deputy regarding some horses on FM 2440 that are being neglected. Cpl. Ellington met with the complainants and drove out to the address of where the horses are located. The deputy spoke with someone on the property, and they advised they had some hay they would bring to the horses.

11:03 - Cpl. Ellington conducted a follow up at a store on East Austin Street regarding the horses from a previous call. Cpl. Ellington made contact with the owners and were advised to make sure the horses had food and water.

11:19 - Deputy E. Hilmo checked with a motorist that was pulled over on Hwy 77 at Hwy 21. The driver advised that he had pulled over to make a phone call.

13:27 - Dispatch was advised by Cpl. Ellington that he was out with an 18-wheeler on Hwy 77 just north of Giddings. The 18-wheeler was blocking the outside lane of traffic. Contact was made with the driver, who advised he had a flat and someone was on the way to fix it. Cpl. Ellington remained on scene for traffic control.

13:43 - A complainant requested a deputy at her residence on FM 1697 to escort her sister off the property. She stated that her sister was intoxicated and yelling at her. Deputy E. Hilmo responded and spoke with both parties. They were separated, and the sister was given a ride to Cefco in Giddings.

13:55 - Deputy Kocurek was dispatched to Tex Villa Apartments to meet with a complainant. The complainant stated that at 5:15 that morning, a male subject tapped on her window and said he was maintenance. He stated he needed to be let inside to repair something. She did not open the door and contacted the landlord, who advised her to make a report. Information was gathered for a report.

15:14 - A resident on CR 454 stated that a female subject was on the property, and he had an active emergency protective order against her. The resident was scared to go to the residence and requested a deputy. Deputy L. Brown responded to the call and made contact with individuals on the report. The subjects advised they were with CPS conducting a home visit, but the female subject was not there. The deputy checked the aunt's residence down the road for the subject, but she was also not there.

16:05 - Deputy E. Hilmo took information for a report from a resident on FM 1697 for mailbox damage.

16:30 - A caller reported he found a horse on the side of the road injured on FM 3403. He pinned the horse up on PR 4551 and requested to speak with a deputy. Lt. Adams spoke with the caller, and a cowboy would be contacted to pick up the horse.

17:43 - A motorist stated that he was involved in a minor accident in the 6000 block of 326. There were no injuries and both vehicles were off the roadway. Deputy L. Brown was dispatched to the scene. Insurance information was exchanged between the two drivers, and no report was needed.

18:27 - Deputy Dudley conducted a traffic stop on Independence Street in front of the Giddings VFD. After finding probable cause, the deputy searched the vehicle and found the driver to be in possession of Marijuana. Owen's was dispatched to take possession of the vehicle. The driver was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

18:57 - A subject informed the Sheriff's Office that three big rig trucks would be coming through the county and the City of Giddings on Hwy 77 traveling southbound. Information was provided to deputies.

20:04 - Dispatch received a call about a goat out on Hwy 77 at CR 114. Deputy Dickerson checked the area but could not locate any loose livestock.

20:13 - Troopers Pennartz, Ledesma and Thomas were out on a traffic stop on Hwy 290 west of the city limits. A search was conducted on the vehicle. Trooper Pennartz advised they had two subjects in custody for possession of Marijuana. Deputy Dudley assisted with transporting the subjects to the Lee County Jail.

20:56 - A caller reported an 18-wheeler in a lane of traffic on Hwy 21 East near CR 430. The caller stated that the 18-wheeler had been parked there with flashers on since 3:00PM. Deputy Dickerson advised he checked out with the 18-wheeler, and the driver was waiting for a tow truck.

21:10 - Deputy Dickerson advised he was out at the 290 Travel Plaza with a male subject that was criminally trespassed from the business in May. The subject was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

21:43 - Dispatch received several 911 calls from a subject on FM 180 wanting a deputy to make scene. Dispatch attempted several times to gather information from the caller but was unable to understand him. Sgt. Holloway responded to the call and was advised by the caller he wanted to speak with Sgt. West. Information was passed on to the Sergeant.

21:45 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson were dispatched to a residence on Yegua Drive for a disturbance. The caller stated that her daughter's boyfriend was arguing with her daughter, and there was a baby in the home as well. Upon arrival, there were no signs of a physical altercation. The boyfriend left the scene and would be staying somewhere else for the night.

 

June 28, 2023

01:32 - Deputy Dickerson assisted Giddings PD with two male subjects in the 100 block of West Austin Street. Giddings PD arrested and transported both subjects to the Lee County Jail for booking.

02:58 - A resident on Hale Street called 911 stating that her granddaughter was attempting to break into her home. The resident hung up before dispatch could gather further information. Dispatch was able to make contact with the granddaughter who advised that her grandmother was having some medical issues and wasn't in her right mind. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded and made sure everything was fine. Information was passed onto day shift and Lexington PD for a follow up.

07:31 - A motorist reported three loose horses on CR 309. Deputy Crenshaw checked the area but could not locate any loose livestock.

11:23 - Lt. Adams conducted a case follow up on CR 133. Information was taken.

11:31 - Deputy J. Hilmo was out with a motorist on FM 141 near FM 1697 with a disabled vehicle. The vehicle was off the roadway, and the driver was given a courtesy ride to Dime Box.

14:39 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst conducted a case follow up at the Country Store in Dime Box. Information was taken.

14:57 - Dispatch received a call about a big tire in the middle of the outside southbound lane of traffic on Hwy 77 at the Nails Creek bridge. Deputy Crenshaw responded and cleared the roadway of the debris.

15:10 - A caller requested a welfare check on a male subject at Sunny's RV Park in Lexington. The caller stated that the subject was not coming to the door. Sgt. West, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy Eickenhorst responded to the call and concluded that the subject was in the hospital.

15:42 - Bastrop County advised that they kept receiving 911 hang up calls from a residence on County Line Road. They sated a child was on the line but would hang up when asked questions. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and advised that it appeared no one lived at the property.

16:15 - Capt. Mastronardi, Lt. Adams and Sgt. Jones conducted a warrant service at an address on Seguin Street in Giddings. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail by Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst.

17:38 - A motorist reported a big tire in the middle of the westbound lane of traffic on Hwy 21 near FM 3403. Sgt. Strouth responded and cleared the debris from the roadway.

18:45 - Sgt. Strouth, Troopers Pennartz, Ledesma and Thomas and Lexington VFD were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on FM 112 just south of CR 314. No injuries were reported. Tillary's took possession of the vehicle, and DPS took the crash report.

23:40 - A caller advised of a man in a wheelchair on the side of the roadway on Hwy 77 North near Shady Circle in Lexington. Sgt. Strouth checked the area but could not locate the subject.

23:46 - Sgt. Strouth checked out with a male subject on a four-wheeler on Hwy 77 just north of Lexington. The rider was identified and advised to go home and not be on the highway.

 

June 29, 2023

02:05 - A motorist advised that he hit a deer on Hwy 21 just west of FM 1624, and his vehicle was disabled. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Brown responded. BDS was dispatched to take possession of the vehicle. No crash report was taken.

05:03 - A male subject came into the Sheriff's Office to turn himself in on an active warrant. Deputy J. Brown booked the subject into the Lee County Jail without incident.

06:57 - Dispatch received over forty 911 hang up calls from Altman Plants. The calls were coming from a deactivated cell phone. Deputy Crenshaw, Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst responded and checked the area. Deputy Eickenhorst located the subject with the phone, who had it in his pocket and it kept dialing 911.

09:07 - Sgt. West, Deputy Crenshaw, Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst were dispatched to CR 139 for a disturbance. The caller stated that a male subject was chasing a female subject with a board. The female managed to lock herself in an RV. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with both subjects. The male stated that the female took his phone and would not give it back. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

14:26 - Pct. 1 Commissioner wanted it documented that the arrow sing on CR 117 near Loebau Store had been spray painted black as well as the county road signs on CR 133.

15:16 - A grandmother requested a welfare check on her granddaughter at a residence on CR 101. Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst went to the residence in an attempt to make contact, but no one was home.

15:24 - Bastrop County transferred a call about a reckless driver on Hwy 290 West traveling eastbound. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. At the time of call, the vehicle was passing FM 2336. Lee County units were unable to locate the vehicle.

21:31 - Burleson County transferred a 911 call from a subject at the dam in Somerville. He stated he could see smoke from a possible fire, and thought it was coming from Nails Creek State Park. Sgt. Strouth checked the area, and advised there was a fire off of FM 2780 in Washington County. Dispatch made contact with Washington County who advised they have a control burn in that area.

21:51 - A caller requested a deputy to meet him at a residence on FM 180 to retrieve his truck from the property. The caller advised that the truck was not entered as stolen, but it was taken a few months ago. Sgt. Strouth responded to the address and was able to locate the vehicle. The property owner was advised that the truck was dropped off back in March but did not know who it belonged to. Permission was given to the registered owner to retrieve the vehicle. A wrecker was able to get the vehicle without incident.

 

June 30, 2023

01:09 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Brown were dispatched to Walnut Street in Lincoln for a suspicious vehicle. Contact was made with the occupants who advised they were moving out of the house next door and were loading the trailer. The subjects were identified, and one was found to be wanted out of Lee County. Deputy J. Brown took the subject into custody and booked him into the Lee County Jail.

08:35 - Deputy Eickenhorst was flagged down by a subject who told him about a man passed out drunk in the parking lot of a church on Hwy 21 East in Dime Box. The deputy located the vehicle and made contact with the driver. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Dallas PD. The record was confirmed, and the driver was taken into custody. Govan's was dispatched to take possession of the vehicle. The driver was transported and booked into the Lee County Jail.

16:22 - A motorist reported a disabled truck in the outside lane of traffic on Hwy 290 west of Giddings city limits. The motorist advised that there was a man underneath the truck trying to work on it and was afraid someone would hit him. Deputy L. Brown and Giddings PD checked the area but could not locate the disabled vehicle.

16:50 - Cpl. Ellington and Deputy Eickenhorst were dispatched to FM 180 for a welfare check. A caller stated that a dark brown truck was parked on the side of the road with the windows down, and it appeared that the driver was asleep. The caller requested contact to be made with the driver. The deputies checked the area but could not locate the vehicle.

18:46 - Dispatch received a 911 call from West Austin Street about a two-vehicle accident. The caller was transferred to Giddings PD.

20:34 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. After finding probable cause, the deputy conducted a search of the vehicle. Marijuana was located, and the driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail. A report was taken.

21:08 - A 911 caller reported cows out on the roadway in the 3100 block of CR 213. Deputy Dudley responded and removed the cattle from the roadway. Owner's information would be taken for future calls.

22:40 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at CR 200. The driver came back wanted out of Washington County. The warrant was confirmed, and the driver was booked into the Lee County Jail.

 

July 1, 2023

00:04 - Deputy Dickerson advised he was out with two subjects west of the train tracks near the car wash in Giddings for a verbal disturbance. Everything was okay, and no report was taken.

00:36 - Deputy Dudley conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at CR 200. After further investigation, Deputy Dudley had probable cause to conduct a search. Both female subjects in the vehicle were taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana. Owen's was dispatched to take possession of the vehicle. Sgt. Holloway remained on scene with the vehicle while Deputy Dudley transported the two females to the Lee County Jail for booking.

02:11 - A motorist requested assistance with getting gas for their vehicle on Hwy 290 near CR 233. Sgt. Holloway responded and assisted the caller with getting their vehicle off the roadway.

02:15 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to FM 2239 near PR 6004 for loose cattle. The area was checked but the deputy could not locate any loose livestock.

02:55 - Sgt. Holloway advised of a possible verbal disturbance at a hotel on East Austin Street. Deputy Dudley responded to the call due to all Giddings PD units being tied up on other calls. Upon the deputy's arrival, there were no signs of a disturbance at the hotel.

06:50 - A caller reported cows out on FM 2239 near PR 6027. Deputy E. Hilmo located the cows near CR 205. The deputy was informed that there were two more cows out on CR 205. Cpl. Ellington arrived to assist and located another 12 head of cattle out further north on CR 205. Deputy E. Hilmo was able to make contact with the owner, and they were able to move his cattle back to his address on CR 205. Cpl. Ellington secured the rest of the cattle that did not belong to the subject at another address on CR 205.

07:48 - Deputy Eickenhorst checked out with an abandoned vehicle partially in the roadway on Hwy 77 north of Hwy 21. B&M was dispatched to take possession of the vehicle since it was a traffic hazard.

11:01 - A motorist advised of a calf out on FM 141 about a mile north of Giddings. Deputy E. Hilmo drove from Giddings to CR 117 and did not locate any loose livestock.

14:34 - Deputy E. Hilmo responded to a reckless driver call on Hwy 290 West. The caller stated that a Dodge vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic, and almost hit the caller and another vehicle. The deputy checked the area but could not locate the vehicle.

15:45 - Fayette County advised they needed assistance with a one-vehicle accident on Hwy 290 near Blume Lane in Ledbetter with possible injuries. They stated a trooper was enroute but was too far out and would like for a deputy to make and hold scene until he arrives. Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the call. Dispatch received a call and was advised that the accident was at FM 180. Fayette County called back and confirmed the crash was in Lee County. Cpl. Ellington was first on scene and advised there were no injuries, and the vehicle was off the roadway. Tillary's took possession of the vehicle, and Deputy E. Hilmo took a crash report.

16:14 - Bastrop County reported a reckless driver on Hwy 21 West traveling eastbound. The Chevrolet truck was swerving all over the roadway. At the time of the call, the vehicle was passing Walch Store. Deputy Eickenhorst located and stopped the vehicle on Hwy 21 at Hwy 77. The driver was okay and advised to slow down.

18:18 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office requested to speak to a deputy about how she could get her car back from a friend who quit making payments. Deputy Dudley spoke with the complainant and referred her to the JP.

19:38 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson were dispatched to a residence on CR 424 for a suspicious vehicle and person on the property. The resident stated that she could see on her camera a truck at her residence and a female subject walking around the yard. The deputies checked the area but could not locate the vehicle or person on the property. A close patrol was set in place for the residence.

20:25 - Dispatch received a call from a mother who stated that her son called her saying a male subject was at a residence on Main Street in Lexington threatening him. The subject was no longer at the residence. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded to the residence. A criminal trespass warning was requested, and a close patrol was placed.

22:52 - A citizen reported a male subject lying next to a wheelchair at the basketball court in the Lexington Park. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded and checked on the subject. The subject refused EMS. He was advised of the park hours and stated he would go to the Family Dollar to sleep. Information was passed on to Lexington PD.

23:49 - Deputy Dickerson stopped out with a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 77 at Independence Street. The driver advised he was just lost.

 

July 2, 2023

00:00 - Sgt. Holloway advised of a disturbance at a residence on Hwy 77 North in Lexington, and Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded to assist. All parties were identified and stated they were drinking when they started to fight. Deputy Dudley transported a male subject to Cefco in Lexington to wait for his ride. Sgt. Holloway requested Govan's to transport a vehicle to the Sheriff's Office. Two female subjects were taken to the Sheriff's Office to sober up and were able to leave with their vehicle in the morning.

00:52 - A complainant on CR 323 requested a deputy because she was at a friend's house, and they had been drinking when the friend started talking badly about her son. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded to the call. They were advised that it was just a verbal disagreement, and everything was fine.

02:53 - A caller advised of a male walking in the roadway on FM 696 East near CR 408. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded and locate the subject. The subject was identified and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

05:42 - Cpl. Ellington, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst were dispatched to a residence on CR 133 for a suspicious person. The resident stated that she could hear people talking outside. The property was checked, and no one was found.

10:26 - Deputy Eickenhorst checked out with a motorist on the side of the road on Hwy 21 at TXDOT. The driver advised he was filling his vehicle with gas.

12:00 - A cattle owner on FM 448 advised that he is missing three Brangus calves. He stated they have yellow ear tags. If they are found, contact can be made with the Sheriff's Office so he can be advised.

12:29 - A complainant from CR 430 called the Sheriff's Office requesting to speak with a supervisor. The complainant stated that two weeks ago deputies were called out to his property, and they allowed a female to go into his house and take his hunting rifle. The complainant has been in contact with his attorney and wants his riffle back. Cpl. Ellington made contact with the complainant's wife who advised everything was fine.

16:21 - A motorist requested assistance with a flat tire on Hwy 21 near CR 404. Deputy Eickenhorst responded but upon arrival, a trooper was already on scene and changed the flat. Deputy Eickenhorst remained on scene for traffic control.

1733 - Deputy E. Hilmo checked out with a motorist on the side of the road in the 5000 block of CR 133. The driver advised that he had a flat.  The vehicle was off the roadway with hazards on.

18:15 - Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson were dispatched to Town and Country Mobile Home Park for a noise disturbance. The complainant stated that there was a subject that kept revving the engine of their truck. The deputies located the subject and truck. He advised that he was working on it and would be done soon.

18:45 - A caller reported a one-vehicle accident on FM 180 near PR 5015 and the vehicle was on fire. The driver was out of the vehicle. Troopers Pennartz, Thomas and Ledesma responded along with EMS and Giddings VFD. The fire was distinguished, and BDS took possession of the vehicle. DPS took a crash report.

18:45 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 East in front of Tractor Supply. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley made scene to assist. The driver and the passenger were identified and found to be in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. Both subjects were arrest and booked into the Lee County Jail.

20:22 - Dispatch received a call about a male subject near a motorcycle was on the side of the road on Hwy 77 North. The subject was seen jumping over a fence. Deputy Dickerson checked the area but was unable to locate the subject or motorcycle.
