June 12 - June 18, 2023

 

 June 12, 2023

02:13 - Deputy Haman advised she was out with a motorist on Hwy 21 near Walch Store. The driver advised they were having issues with the vehicle but was able to fix it and get back on the road.

02:25 - Sgt. Strouth removed an animal carcass from the roadway in the 4000 block of FM 180.

06:48 - Dispatch was advised by Deputy E. Hilmo that he was out with a disabled vehicle in the 5700 block of Hwy 77. The vehicle was unoccupied, and there was a note on the window. The owner of the vehicle left for parts and would return later to fix it.

12:20 - Deputy E. Hilmo advised that someone tried to dig up the road sign on CR 318 at CR 315 and attempted to steal it. A report was taken, and the commissioner was notified.

15:45 - A motorist reported a white GMC van swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 77 South traveling northbound near FM 448. The motorist advised that the vehicle was approaching the light at the intersection of Hwy 290 and Hwy 77. The call was transferred to Giddings PD.

16:07 - A male subject came to the Sheriff's Office to turn himself in on a warrant. Deputy L. Brown took him into custody and booked him into the Lee County Jail.

17:33 - Sgt. Holloway met with a subject at the Sheriff's Office to update his sex offender registry.

18:14 - Fayette County passed on information they received from a nurse about a resident on FM 180. The nurse advised Fayette County that it has been ten days since anyone has heard from the resident. She was requesting a welfare check. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded to the call. Upon arrival, Deputy Dickerson advised that the door was open to the residence, and they were going to clear the house. There were no signs of anyone being there, and everything was secure.

19:12 - A complainant from Walnut Street in Lincoln requested a deputy to respond due to him catching someone trespassing on his property and stealing from him via security camera footage. Deputy Dickerson responded and advised that it would be a civil issue. An information report was taken.

21:35 - Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Dudley and Troopers McCoy and Silva responded to a call about a reckless driver on Hwy 290 in Carmine. Fayette County advised that the vehicle was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of traffic. Deputy Dickerson located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver stated that he had been driving all day from Florida. The deputy advised the driver to pull into a gas station to rest before getting back on the road.

 

June 13, 2023

06:57 - Deputy E. Hilmo assisted Giddings PD with a welfare check at a residence on Grimes Street. The subject came back wanted out of Burleson County. The subject became combative and tried to flee on foot. The officers were able to detain the subject. The warrant was confirmed, and the subject was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking. A report was taken.

18:20 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 77 in Lexington near the park. The vehicle was described as a white SUV that appeared to be doing donuts in the middle of the road. The caller was still on the phone with Dispatch when the driver crashed the vehicle into a tree at the entrance of the park. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded to the call along with EMS. Deputy Dickerson requested the next rotation wreck, and Govan's was dispatched to the scene. Deputy Dudley gathered information from two witnesses who saw the crash. The driver was transported by EMS to a hospital in Bryan. A crash report was taken.

20:08 - Dispatch received two 911 open line calls near the 6100 block of Hwy 290 East. Dispatch made several attempts to make contact but no one answered. Deputy Dickerson drove to the Fayette County line and did not see any motorist in need of assistance.

21:16 - Deputy Dudley conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 East near CR 234. The driver was detained for driving while license was invalid. Dispatch advised of multiple previous convictions for the same offense. Next rotation wrecker was requested, and BDS was dispatched to the scene. Deputy Dudley transported the driver to the Lee County Jail for booking while Sgt. Holloway remained on scene until BDS took possession of the vehicle. A report was taken.

23:44 - Williamson County requested backup on their call located at an address on CR 484.  They advised they had a suicidal subject threatening to harm themselves and anyone who goes on their property. Sgt. Holloway advised them to call Bastrop County to see if they had any units closer due to the nature of the call. Lee County units were well over 30 minutes away from the scene. Williamson County made contact with Bastrop County and advised Bastrop County had two units in the area. Lee County units were disregarded.

 

June 14, 2023

02:35 - Deputy Dudley conducted a traffic stop on East Austin Street in the Walmart parking lot. The driver was pulled over for speeding. After further investigation, a PC search was conducted on the vehicle. The driver was arrested for being in possession of a dangerous drug. Owens was dispatched to the scene. Deputy Dudley transported the driver to the Lee County Jail for booking while Sgt. Holloway remained on scene until Owens took possession of the vehicle. Information was taken for a report.

07:23 - Lexington Officer Reyna conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 77 at the city park. The driver came back wanted out of Brazos County. Capt. Mastronardi arrived on scene to assist. The driver was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

09:57 - Baylor Scott and White advised they had a patient that came in with a bite from a stray cat. Information was taken, and no report at this time.

10:07 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst checked out on Emma Street in Lexington for a case follow up. No new information at this time.

12:07 - Deputy Crenshaw, Deputy J. Hilmo and Constable Gonzales responded to a disturbance call on CR 114. The complainant stated that his father had assaulted him at the residence but at the time of the call, the complainant was walking along side of the road near the residence. Deputies met with both parties, and information was taken for a report. The complainant left the residence with his mother.

12:27 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst checked out at a residence on CR 133 to issue a Criminal Trespass Warning. The warning was issued without incident.

12:39 - Dispatch was advised of debris in the roadway in the 6200 block of Hwy 290 East. Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst removed the debris from the roadway.

13:02 - A caller requested assistance at a residence on FM 141 for a domestic issue. The caller stated that her sister was having issues with her husband, and she was concerned for her sister's safety. Sgt. West, Deputy Crenshaw, Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst met with the caller, her sister and the husband at the residence. Information was taken for a report, and the parties were separated.

18:57 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Brown were dispatched to the area of CR 205 and CR 206 for a suspicious vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who advised that the vehicle was broken down and a tow truck was on the way. The vehicle was moved off the roadway.

19:42 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from an address on PR 3322. Sgt. Strouth responded and spoke with the owners. They advised everything was fine.

20:34 - A motorist reported a calf out on Hwy 21 at the Manheim Parrish Hall. Deputy J. Brown responded and advised the owners were on scene upon arrival. The calf was secured off the roadway.

22:28 - Sgt. Strouth checked out with a vehicle in a church parking lot off CR 317 near FM 112. The vehicle was unoccupied and secure.

23:17 - Trooper Silva advised she was on a traffic stop on Hwy 77 at CR 327 and conducting a PC search. Deputy Haman responded to assist. The driver was found in possession of several drugs. The driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail without incident. The vehicle was released to the passenger.

23:42 - Deputy J. Brown conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at Westwood Lane. The driver came back wanted out of Harris County. The driver was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking, and issued a citation for no driver's license. B&M took possession of the vehicle. A report was taken.

23:57 - Dispatch was advised by Sgt. Strouth that he was out with a motorist on Hwy 77 near the Giddings High School. The driver advised they were switching places.

 

June 15, 2023

03:08 - Deputy Haman checked out with a vehicle on Hwy 21 at FM 2440. The vehicle was unoccupied and secure with a note on the window stating it would be towed in the morning.

10:10 - A resident on FM 141 advised that he had some cows on his property that do not belong to him. He believed he knew who the owner is. Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst met with the resident and information was taken.

10:10 - Deputy J. Hilmo checked out at a residence on CR 114 for a case follow up.

11:06 - A caller requested a welfare check at an address on CR 312. The caller stated there was a foul odor and trash build up around the residence. Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded and made contact with the owner. She advised she was slowly cleaning up the residence.

12:32 - Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo checked back out at a residence on CR 114. Information was given.  

12:41 - A male subject waved down Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst on FM 141. The subject advised that he needed a statement form to fill out for a case that was pending with the Sheriff's Office. He was provided with a statement form by Deputy Crenshaw.

12:59 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst checked back out with the cows on FM 141. The owner was notified to remove the cows from the complainant's property.

21:27 - Deputy Haman advised she was out with an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 21 at FM 2440. The vehicle had been parked there since Sunday. An attempt was made to contact the registered owner, and the vehicle was red tagged. Later in the evening, Deputy Haman advised the vehicle was no longer there.

22:19 - A complainant advised that his ex-wife came to his residence on CR 305 and assaulted him. He advised that the subject had left prior to him calling the Sheriff's Office. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded to the call and met with the complainant. Information was taken for a report.

23:21 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from an address in the 7500 block of FM 141. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman responded to the call. Sgt. Strouth was able to make contact with the caller, who advised it was an accident.

 

June 16, 2023

01:23 - Sgt. Strouth checked out with a suspicious vehicle on Fourth Street in Lexington. The driver advised he was dropping someone off.

06:41 - A motorist called 911 to report an 18-wheeler swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 77 North traveling southbound. At the time of call, they were approaching Hwy 21. Deputy J. Brown responded to the call. The motorist advised the 18-wheeler pulled over behind another parked 18-wheeler on Hwy 21 near the on-ramp. Deputy J. Brown arrived on scene and made contact with the driver. The driver advised that he was trying to program his GPS.

07:41 - ADT Security reported a commercial burglar alarm at a business in Lexington. Deputy L. Brown was dispatched to the call. Lexington Chief Garza and Officer Cox were first on scene. Everything was fine, and the key holder was on scene.

08:19 - Dispatch received several 911 calls from a number pinging at Altman Plants. Deputy E. Hilmo checked the area and could not locate anyone with an emergency.

08:48 - Capt. Allen advised he was out with a loose cow on CR 203. The cow was secured off the roadway.

10:53 - A caller reported a large white dog on FM 2440 just west of CR 113. Capt. Allen and Deputy E. Hilmo located the dog and took it to the animal shelter. The dog was accepted by the animal shelter.

11:14 - Cpl. Ellington and Reserve Deputy Stem met with a complainant on CR 132. The complainant stated her landlord was threatening to cut off her electricity. The deputies attempted to make contact with the landlord, but were unable to do so. No report at this time.

13:28 - A motorist advised that as a vehicle passed her, the front bumper flew off striking her vehicle. The bumper was now in the roadway on Hwy 21 near CR 426. Cpl. Ellington located the bumper and removed it from the roadway.

14:36 - Giddings PD reported a stranded motorist in the center turn lane of Hwy 77 near Hwy 290. Capt. Allen and Cpl. Ellington responded and pushed the vehicle off the roadway.

14:28 - A caller stated that his niece was missing, and had been gone for over two hours. Approximately 15 minutes later, Dispatch received a 911 call from Peterson's reporting a white female subject in the store yelling at people. Deputy L. Brown arrived on scene and advised that the female subject was the missing niece. The uncle was advised, and was on his way to the store. The subject came back wanted out of Lee County and Dallas County. She was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

23:23 - Sgt. Holloway was dispatched to CR 133 for a loose cow. The cow was located and removed from the roadway.

 

June 17, 2023

00:09 - A 911 caller advised of a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 77 North between Lexington and Tanglewood. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded along with EMS and Lexington VFD. All units checked the area but were unable to locate an accident. Squad 1 advised that there were a few motorcycles stopped on the side of the road. The riders advised that they had a trailer on the way to pick them up after hitting some roadway debris.

02:12 - Deputy Dudley responded to an accident on Hwy 77 near CR 411. The motorist stated that she hit something in the roadway and could not move her vehicle. Next wrecker rotation was requested. Sgt. Holloway arrived on scene and gave the motorist a ride to a hotel in Giddings while Deputy Dudley remained on scene. Tillary's took possession of vehicle, and a crash report was taken.

02:50 - Deputy Dickerson and Trooper Silva advised they would be assisting Giddings PD on South Main Street with a one-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the driver could be intoxicated. The female subject was identified and taken into custody. Giddings PD took the female to get medically cleared and then booked into the Lee County Jail. Information was taken for a report.

07:07 - A property owner from CR 117 advised that someone stole his game camera and mount from his property. Cpl. Ellington met with the complainant and information was taken for a report. The property owner called back and noticed that a solar powered battery charger was also taken. Information was added to the report.

11:00 - Deputy L. Brown was dispatched to Hwy 21 East to meet a complainant at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The complainant stated that a box trailer was sitting in the parking lot of the church. It was determined that the trailer was parked there because they will be installing glass for the church.

12:15 - A caller from Lexington Food Mart stated that she received a call from a man that started yelling at her over the phone. She stated that the caller yelled profanity at her and then hung up. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the caller and advised no threats were made. The caller was advised to call back if she receives any threats.

15:04 - Cpl. Ellington responded to a call on PR 1339 for a stolen trailer. The complainant stated that the property was sold back in December and that was the last time he had seen the trailer. Cpl. Ellington attempted to make contact with the neighbors to see if they saw anything. No one was home. Information was taken for a report.   

15:13 - A cow owner from FM 2239 called to report that he is missing a white Charolaise bull from his property on League Line Road. He advised that the bull has an ear tag. If the bull is found, contact can be made with the Sheriff's Office to advise the cow owner.

17:45 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to speak with a deputy about a possible scam. The complainant stated he was visiting from Florida and received a call from someone claiming to be with the Sheriff's Office. The person stated that he had two warrants for his arrest. They also told him that they were going to freeze his bank accounts. Cpl. Ellington spoke with the complainant and advised him that it was a scam.

18:10 - Deputy Dudley assisted Giddings PD with a call at the Giddings RV Park. No report taken.

20:34 - Sgt. Holloway met with a subject at the Sheriff's Office in reference to a previous call. Information was taken and will be passed on to Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo since they had already spoke to the subject about the civil matters.

23:06 - A caller from Cefco in Lexington stated that he had just saw a male subject pour a beer into a cup and left in a vehicle. Sgt. Holloway checked the area for the subject and vehicle but was unable to locate either.

23:48 - Dispatch received a call about a reckless driver on Hwy 21 East traveling eastbound. At the time of the call, the caller was passing CR 440. The caller advised that a black sedan was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Due to the caller stating the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, the call was transferred to Burleson County.

 

June 18, 2023

01:52 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of East Austin Street. Deputy Dickerson requested Deputy Dudley to make scene. After Deputy Dudley made scene, all parties relocated to the Sheriff's Office. Deputy Dickerson took a written statement from the occupants for an incident that had occurred prior to the traffic stop. Information was taken for a report, and will be forwarded to CID.

03:47 - Giddings PD requested a deputy at his location on West Austin Street at Navarro Street in regards to a possible incident that occurred in the county. Sgt. Holloway responded and advised that the motorist told him that something struck his windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson checked the east side of the county but were unable to locate any debris in the roadway to cause damage.

09:17 - Dispatch received a call about a male subject in a wheelchair on the side of Hwy 77 between CR 415 and CR 411. Deputy L. Brown responded to the call and checked the area but could not locate the subject.

09:38 - Deputy L. Brown secured four loose cows off the roadway on CR 309.

10:28 - Cpl. Ellington gave a courtesy ride to a subject from the Sheriff's Office to Brookshire Brothers.

12:22 - A caller reported a one-vehicle rollover accident on FM 1624 at CR 326. The caller stated that the vehicle was off in a field. Cpl. Ellington, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy L. Brown responded to the call along with EMS and Lincoln VFD. Lincoln VFD was first on scene and advised the driver was okay and refused medical services. The property owner was notified about the fence damage. Govan's took possession of the vehicle, and a crash report was taken.

13:05 - A 911 caller stated that a juvenile sent a text message to her granddaughter stating she was suicidal and had taken a bunch of pills. The location of the juvenile was on CR 117. Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo went to the location and spoke with a relative who advised the mother and juvenile were on CR 118. The deputies went to the location on CR 118 and spoke with the mother and juvenile. The juvenile showed no signs of wanting to harm herself nor did she have plans to do so.

15:23 - Deputy E. Hilmo checked out with a stranded motorist on Hwy 290 West across from the Firemen's Park. Contact was made with the driver who advised she had a wrecker on the way to assist.

17:09 - Dispatch received a call about cows out on Stayton Avenue in Dime Box. Attempts were made to contact the owner but no one answered. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded to the area and advised there is a total of 12 head of cattle out. Deputy L. Brown arrived on scene to assist. Units were able to secure the cows off the roadway and repaired the fence.

17:52 - Cpl. Ellington stopped out with a motorist on the side of the road on Hwy 290 just east of FM 180. EMS was requested to check on the driver. The driver was struggling with vertigo. EMS arrived on scene to evaluate the driver, and the driver's parents were contacted and enroute from Brenham. The driver was released to the parents to be transported to the hospital.

18:10 - Deputy Dudley advised that the railroad crossing in Dime Box had a train stopped in the middle of the roadway. Union Pacific was contacted and going to contact their dispatch to see what the issue was. Dispatch received no further calls.

19:25 - Giddings PD requested a deputy to take a call due to both PD officers being on another call. A Cefco employee stated they saw an older male subject follow his daughter to the women's restroom and held the restroom door open for another male subject to follow the daughter into the restroom. Deputy Dickerson responded to the call but the subjects were gone upon his arrival.

19:52 - A resident on CR 426 advised that a male subject was laying in the ditch near her residence, and two vehicles were parked in the roadway picking the male subject up. Deputy Dudley checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicles and subjects.

20:14 - Sgt. Holloway was dispatched to FM 112 near CR 316 for a calf out. The deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the calf.

21:29 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up from an address on CR 232. Attempts were made to make contact several times but kept being declined. Deputy Dickerson responded to the call and checked the area. There were no signs of an emergency. The deputy also attempted to make contact with the homeowners but no one answered.

22:03 - A caller from CR 306 reported that a juvenile was missing, and was last seen on June 17th.  A staff member from the school came to the Sheriff's Office to file a report about the missing juvenile. Deputy Dudley met with the staff member to collect information for the report. The staff member stated that female subject was last seen wearing an oversized black t-shirt and tiny shorts at 5:30PM on June 17th. The juvenile's parents were notified, and the juvenile was entered as missing.

22:26 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of West Austin Street. After further investigation, Deputy Dickerson found probable cause to conduct a search on the vehicle. During the search, the deputy located a controlled substance. The male subject was identified and taken into custody. His parents were notified and took possession of the vehicle. The subject was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.
