 May 22, 2023

04:58 - ADT Security reported a burglary alarm at a business in Lexington. Deputy Dudley responded and checked the area. Everything was secure.

08:04 - Dispatch received a call about a hog that were hit on CR 314 near the water treatment plant. The caller stated that one of them was paralyzed. Deputy L. Brown responded and dispatched the animal.

09:11 - Deputy J. Hilmo was dispatched to CR 117 near CR 119 for cows out. The cows were located and secured off the roadway.

09:43 - A male subject came to the Sheriff's Office to speak to a deputy about an accident he was in on Sunday morning on FM 696. Sgt. Ray met with the subject, and information was added to the original case file.

11:06 - Giddings PD requested assistance with translation on a traffic stop near Los Patrones on East Austin Street. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and assisted with the traffic stop.

12:49 - A resident from East Hwy 290 came to the Sheriff's Office wanting to speak with a deputy about a criminal trespass warning. She advised that someone keeps harassing her by phone and wanted a criminal trespass warning issued. Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst met with the resident, and she was advised to block the person's number. She was also advised that if she did speak with the subject to inform him to leave her alone. Information was taken but no report at this time.

14:26 - Deputy L. Brown was dispatched to FM 696 at Sherrill Lane for a suspicious vehicle. The caller stated that a black in color vehicle was parked at the end of his driveway. Before the deputy made scene, the vehicle had left the area.

17:11 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst responded to a call on Hwy 290 for an animal complaint. The caller stated that there was a black dog chained outside with no shade and has been out there for days like that. The deputies made contact with the owner and advised that the dog was in good health. The owner moved the dog to shade and gave it water.

18:43 - A motorist reported a small dog in the roadway on FM 3403 near Hwy 77. Deputy Haman checked FM 3403 from Hwy 77 to Hwy 21 but could not locate the dog.

19:10 - Dispatch received a call about a man in a wheelchair on the side of the roadway on Hwy 77 North just south of Tanglewood. Sgt. Strouth checked the area from Lexington to the Milam County line but was unable to locate the subject.

20:05 - Sergeant Strouth was dispatched to an EMS call for a patient who advised EMS personnel that he injected a drug. Information was taken for a report.

20:40 - Deputy Haman was dispatched to Giddings Street in Lexington for a dispute. A resident stated that her neighbor had driven by her house and threw rocks in her yard. At the time of the call, the neighbor was yelling at her from his yard. After speaking with the resident, Deputy Haman requested Sgt. Strouth to make scene. Both units spoke with the neighbor and advised him to stay inside for the night.

21:58 - Sgt. Strouth checked out at the Lexington High School with a juvenile walking across the parking lot. The juvenile was identified and released.

22:04 - Dispatch was advised by Deputy Haman that debris was in the roadway on Hwy 21 near CR 430. The roadway was cleared of the debris.

22:11 - Sgt. Strouth advised that he was out with a vehicle parked on the side of the roadway on Third Street in front of the Lexington Middle School. The vehicle was unoccupied and secure.

23:35 - A caller advised that two subjects, a male and a female, were walking around with a flashlight looking into vehicles at the Nails Creek State Park. Dispatch was unable to make contact with park rangers. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded and checked the park but were unable to locate anyone suspicious.

 

May 23, 2023

03:06 - Dispatch received a 911 call for an elderly male that was choking and unable to breath on Seventh Street in Lexington. EMS responded to the call along with Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman.  The patient was transported to the hospital in Caldwell.

05:44 - A motorist advised that he hit a deer on FM 696 East and could not locate the injured animal. No injuries or damage to the vehicle was reported. The motorist was given the event number for reference.

12:39 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst met with a complainant at the Lexington VFD to assist with a civil standby. Sgt. West advised that the property was given back to the original owner without incident.

12:43 - A caller reported a German Shepherd tied to a fence on a property located on CR 450. The dog had no access to food or water. Deputy Crenshaw responded and advised the dog had access to food and water. The dog appeared to be healthy.

12:50 - Deputy J. Hilmo met with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office in reference to fraud. The complainant stated that someone opened a credit card account in her name. Information was gathered for a report.

14:22 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from Altman Plants. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and met with an individual who advised it was an accidental call.

17:12 - Giddings PD requested that EMS be paged out and staged at the 290 Travel Plaza. They advised they had a barricaded subject inside an RV. Deputy J. Hilmo responded to assist with the call. The subject was detained and a female subject was evaluated by EMS.

17:17 - Deputy Crenshaw gave a subject a courtesy ride to an address near Elgin.

19:30 - Deputy J. Brown assisted Trooper Pennartz with a traffic stop on Hwy 290 West at the Travel Plaza. The traffic stop was conducted without incident.

20:10 - Trooper Pennartz advised he was out on a traffic stop on Hwy 290 West near Altman Plants. A PC search was conducted, and Deputy J. Brown responded to assist. The driver was arrested for possession and booked into the Lee County Jail. The passenger was released with the vehicle.

20:23 - Dispatch received a call about a calf out on FM 2240 near CR 113. Sgt. Strouth located the calf and secured it off the roadway.

20:36 - Williamson County advised of a 911 hang up on PR 7028. Deputy Haman responded and made contact with a parent who advised her child had the phone and accidentally dialed 911.

22:19 - Deputy Haman was dispatched to an address on FM 696 West for multiple 911 hang up calls. Contact was made and the parents advised that the children were playing on the phone and accidentally called 911.

23:26 - Alarm Connections requested a welfare check at a business in Lexington because the closing alarm had not been activated. Deputy J. Brown responded and advised the building was secure.

23:38 - A motorist reported a reckless driver on Hwy 290 East traveling westbound. At the time of the call, the vehicle was passing FM 180. A vehicle matching the description pulled into the Whataburger parking lot. Multiple callers advised that the driver was being very aggressive and trying to hit other vehicles. At 23:44, Deputy Haman checked out with Giddings PD to assist.

23:43 - Deputy J. Brown was dispatched to Hwy 21 West near FM 1624 for two horses on the roadway. The owners were on scene upon arrival, and the horses were secured off the roadway.

 

May 24, 2023

02:34 - Sgt. Strouth checked out with a vehicle on the side of the roadway on Hwy 77 North at FM 3403. Contact was made with the driver who advised he was with Lee County Water and was purging lines.

03:44 - Sgt. Strouth conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of East Austin Street. The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Harris County. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded to assist with the traffic stop. The driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail. Deputy Haman gave the passenger a courtesy ride to a store in Giddings to wait for a ride. A report was taken.

03:46 - Dispatch received multiple 911 calls about a large tree blocking the roadway on Hwy 77 North at CR 329. TxDOT was notified and the tree was removed from the roadway.

05:42 - A motorist reported a tree limb partially over the roadway on Hwy 21 West near FM 2440. TxDOT was notified.

06:27 - Cpl. Ellington was dispatched to FM 3403 for a loose horse. The area was checked from Hwy 77 to Hwy 21, and the roadway was clear of livestock.

08:20 - Deputy E. Hilmo met with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office for a case follow up. Information was taken for the case.

08:26 - Giddings PD was out with a stolen vehicle at Cefco on East Austin Street. Cpl. Ellington assisted with the traffic stop until Giddings PD advised they were good.

10:21 - Deputy E. Hilmo conducted a case follow up at a location off CR 133. Information was gathered.

12:34 - A complainant from Arizona stated that she had been scammed by a subject that lives on CR 135. The complainant advised that she made a trade agreement with the subject to trade a pair of boots for a designer handbag. The complainant stated that the subject received the boots but never sent her the handbag. Messages had been sent requesting for the bag to be sent but the subject was refusing to do so. Deputy E. Hilmo spoke with the complainant over the phone before going to the residence to make contact with the subject. No contact could be made with the subject, and the complainant was advised to file a report with her local law enforcement agency. An information report was taken.

12:24 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from an address on CR 133. Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the call and made contact with one of the workers. They advised it was an accidental call.

13:24 - Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to the 7300 block of FM 1624 to meet with a property owner about three donkeys that were on her property. The property owner advised that the donkeys did not belong to her, and they are on a part of her property that has no fence. The property owner advised the deputy that she does not mind the donkeys being on her property, but she is worried they will get out on the roadway. Deputy E. Hilmo advised her to contact the Sheriff's Office if the donkeys get out. A possible owner of the donkeys was found but no contact could be made.

17:15 - A motorist reported cows out on Hwy 21 just east of FM 2440. Deputy E. Hilmo located and removed the cows from the roadway.

17:20 - A caller stated that a large, deceased dog was in the roadway in the 7700 block of FM 141. Cpl. Ellington responded and removed the carcass from the roadway.

17:38 - Dispatch received a call about debris in the roadway on Hwy 77 near CR 114. Sheriff Goetz checked the area from Giddings to FM 1624 and advised the roadway was clear.

20:54 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to CR 305 for a report of five to ten head of black cattle out on the roadway. The area was checked, and no cattle were located.

21:30 - A caller reported more than ten head of cattle out on CR 118. Deputy Dudley responded and located the cattle. The cattle were secured off the roadway.

21:45 - Chief Garza advised that she received multiple phone calls about students being at the Lexington High School. Deputy Dickerson responded and advised several students fled the scene upon his arrival. No contact could be made with the students. A close patrol of the high school was conducted throughout the night.

 

May 25, 2023

00:53 - ADT Security reported a commercial burglary alarm at a business in Lexington. Sgt. Holloway responded to the call and advised that everything was secure. There were no signs of suspicious activity.

07:17 - Dispatch received a call about two horses out in the 1000 block of FM 1697 near CR 125. Cpl. Ellington checked the area but did not locate any loose livestock.

08:10 - Giddings PD requested assistance with a wanted individual at Rolling Oaks Apartments. Cpl. Ellington responded and transported the combative subject to the Lee County Jail for booking.

11:04 - Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to CR 116 at CR 133 for two cows out on the roadway. The cows were located and secured off the roadway.

11:22 - Deputy E. Hilmo advised he was at a location on CR 133 for a case follow up. At 12:59, the deputy checked out on East Cuero Street in Giddings to serve a Criminal Trespass Warning to a subject involved in the case.

15:03 - A property owner on Stayton Avenue in Dime Box advised that some cattle were on his property that did not belong to him. Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the call and spoke with the owner of the cattle. The cattle owner was advised that it is his responsibility to keep the cows secure. The cattle owner advised Deputy Hilmo that he would be repairing the fence to keep the cattle on his property.

15:05 - Dispatch received a call about a male having trouble getting onto his electric scooter on Hwy 77 just south of Lexington. Cpl. Ellington, Deputy Webber and Chief Garza all responded to the call but were unable to locate the subject.

17:57 - Deputy Dickerson advised he was out on a motorist assist on Hwy 290 near the fairgrounds. The driver was able to get back on the roadway.

17:59 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dickerson conducted a case follow up on CR 200.

18:19 - Deputy Dudley was dispatched to an address on Fifth Street in Lexington for a 911 hang up call. Dispatch attempted numerous times to make contact but received no answer. Upon arrival, the deputy advised there was no residence or vacant home at the address pinged but only a mailbox that sits in an open field.

18:27 - Sgt. Holloway advised over the radio he noticed a reckless driver traveling eastbound on Hwy 290 at a high rate of speed. Deputy Dickerson assisted with getting a speed reading of 82 in a 55-mph zone. The deputies conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was given a citation.

19:00 - A caller from FM 141 stated that his donkey was missing from his property and wanted to check to see if anyone had called to report a loose donkey. Information was taken for future calls. At 19:40, the caller called back and stated that he located the donkey.

20:15 - A resident on CR 133 called to report that he had been involved in a minor accident but relocated from the scene to his residence. Deputy Dickerson met with the caller, who was given the event number for insurance purposes. No crash report was needed.

20:21 - Deputy Dudley was dispatched to FM 2239 at CR 208 for an abandoned vehicle that was a traffic hazard. Upon arrival, the vehicle was found to be unoccupied. Next rotation was request, and Owen's took possession of the vehicle.

23:57 - A motorist reported about four to five head of donkeys on the roadway on CR 124 just off FM 1697. Deputy Dickerson responded and checked the area but could not locate the donkeys.

 

May 26, 2023

08:01 - Deputy Crenshaw responded to a call about a horse and donkey out on FM 3403 near Hwy 21. The livestock was located and secured off the roadway. The owner was also notified.

09:06 - Dispatch received a call about five donkeys out on CR 124 near the bridge. Deputy J. Hilmo checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

09:11 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst were dispatched to the 1100 block of CR 132 for two horses out. The area was checked but the deputies could not locate any loose livestock.

10:57 - Sgt. West and Deputy Crenshaw conducted a case follow up on CR 134. Information was taken for the report.

11:28 - A motorist reported a reckless driver on FM 448 coming into Giddings. The vehicle was speeding and failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Deputy J. Hilmo checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

11:31 - A property owner on CR 127 requested a deputy to come out and take a report on what his neighbor is doing on his property. Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst responded and met with the property owner. He was advised that no offense occurred, and that it would be a civil issue.

12:29 - CID requested deputies to follow up on a case at a business on Hwy 290 East.  Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo met with the business owner, and information was taken for the report.

13:28 - Dispatch received a 911 call about a reckless 18-wheeler on Hwy 21 entering Lee County from Burleson County. The 18-wheeler was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Deputy Webber responded and located the 18-wheeler. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver advised that he dropped something and was trying to pick it up.

13:35 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst responded to a call about a dog and ten puppies on the side of the road at CR 329 and CR 327. The deputies checked the area but could not locate the dog and puppies.

14:21 - Deputy J. Hilmo conducted a traffic stop on FM 141 just outside of Giddings. The driver came back wanted out of Round Rock and arrested. The subject was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

19:09 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office stating that when she was pulling into the Sheriff's Office parking lot, her child's father was trying to run her off the roadway. Sgt. Strouth made contact with the complainant in the parking lot. The male subject was asked to park when he left in his vehicle at a high rate of speed. Sgt. Strouth was able to follow the vehicle to an address on South Leon Street. A citizen advised that the subject was last seen traveling on foot towards the train tracks. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman, Deputy J. Brown and Giddings PD attempted to locate the subject. The subject was located but ran in the brush causing the deputies to lose sight of him. Govan's was requested to tow the vehicle. A report was taken.

20:10 - Giddings PD advised of a stolen vehicle hit in Burton traveling westbound on Hwy 290. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown assisted Giddings PD with locating the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver. The driver of the vehicle was found to be the registered owner who recently got the vehicle back.

23:43 - A caller reported that her juvenile brother ran away from their residence in the 8900 block of FM 141. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded to the call.  The deputies checked the area for juvenile but could not locate him. The juvenile was entered as a missing person. At 00:30, dispatch received a 911 call from the sister who advised that her brother was back at home. Sgt. Strouth responded to the residence to meet with the family. A report was taken.

22:47 - Deputy Haman was dispatched to the area of CR 411 and CR 414 for suspicious vehicles. A property owner stated that multiple vehicles were driving through her property. The deputy stayed in the area for a while but did not see any vehicles on the property.

 

May 27, 2023

01:45 - Dispatch was advised by Deputy Haman she would be out with a large hog carcass in the 1900 block of FM 619. The carcass was removed from the roadway.

02:31 - Sgt. Strouth checked out with a suspicious vehicle at Cefco in Lexington. Contact was made and the occupants were just sleeping before getting back on the road.

03:00 - Deputy Haman advised she was out with a disabled vehicle at Hwy 77 and FM 1624. Contact was made with the driver who advised that the vehicle overheated and was waiting for a friend to come help.

06:43 - A caller stated that two vehicles were parked illegally at the Black Bridge Park in Dime Box. Sgt. West responded and the vehicles were moved.

10:12 - Fayette County advised they had a deputy out with a black cow on FM 448 that was in Lee County. While Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst were enroute to the call, Fayette County called back and stated their deputy was able to get the cow put up.

10:27 - Deputy Eickenhorst informed dispatch that he, Sgt. West and Deputy J. Hilmo would be out at the airport in Giddings checking the area. The deputies found an open door inside a hanger. Everything was secured.

10:40 - St. Joseph's in Caldwell reported that a female subject was currently in the ER, and stated that her boyfriend assaulted her the night before while driving on FM 141. Sgt. West spoke with the victim and advised her to come by the Sheriff's Office when she is released to give a statement. No report at this time.

10:42 - Sgt. West spoke with a resident on CR 415 about an issue she was having with a worker. She stated that she had hired someone from Facebook Marketplace to do a job but he did not finish the job and she would not be paying him. The resident was advised that if the person comes back on the property, a Criminal Trespass Warning could be issued. No offense has occurred at this time.

12:07 - Giddings PD received a hit on a stolen vehicle traveling westbound on Hwy 290. Giddings PD located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Deputy J. Hilmo and Reserve Deputy Terpstra assisted with the traffic stop. Giddings PD took the report.

12:30 - A caller from North Rockdale Street in Lexington advised that he hit a building on the property. Deputy Eickenhorst and Trooper Pennartz responded to the call. DPS took a crash report.

15:10 - Deputy J. Hilmo conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Hwy 290. Sgt. West, Deputy Eickenhorst and Trooper Pennartz responded to assist with the traffic stop. A PC search was conducted, and the driver was found to be in possession of an illegal substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking. A report was taken.

18:36 - A motorist reported a firearm lying in the roadway on CR 119 near CR 117. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman responded and located the firearm. The firearm was taken for safe keeping, and a report was created.

19:00 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call at an address in the 1700 block of Hwy 77 South. Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with a female who advised she accidentally called 911.

19:59 - Deputy J. Brown checked out at Cefco in Giddings to assist Giddings PD with a traffic stop. Traffic stop was conducted without incident.

20:35 - A complainant stated that a horse looked sick at an address on CR 440. Deputy Haman located the horse, and advised the colt was not malnourished.

20:47 - Deputy Haman attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling over 100 mph on Hwy 21 passing FM 3403. At first, the vehicle would not stop. The vehicle finally stopped in the 2300 block of Hwy 21, and multiple citations were issued.

20:57 - Sgt. Strouth checked out at the Lexington Food Mart 8889 to speak with someone about the multiple alarm calls. Contact was made and they advised they would contact the alarm company and get the issued fixed.

22:32 - Deputy J. Brown advised he was in pursuit of a grey sedan traveling 100+ mph westbound on Hwy 290 West. Bastrop County was notified of the pursuit and had units enroute. Deputy Haman was also enroute to assist. Deputy J. Brown advised he lost sight of the vehicle about a mile into Bastrop County and would be terminating the pursuit. Bastrop County was advised the same, and stated their units would attempt to locate the vehicle.

22:42 - Dispatch was advised by Sgt. Strouth that he was in pursuit of a vehicle with flashers on traveling 70+ on CR 309. The vehicle stopped in the 3400 block of CR 309, and the driver was detained. The driver stated that he was going to assist his girlfriend who was broken down on FM 1624 near Hwy 21. The driver was issued citation and released.

23:11 - A motorist reported a reckless driver on FM 696 West at CR 307. No units were available in the area, and the vehicle turned into a private drive.

23:17 - Deputy Haman stated she was enroute to the motorist assist mentioned in the previous traffic stop on FM 1624 at Hwy 21. The area was checked from Lexington to Hwy 77, and no vehicle was located.

23:41 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the 1300 block of 216 that was parked in the ditch. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with the driver who advised they ran out of gas and had a friend coming to help.

 

May 28, 2023

01:05 - Sgt. Strouth informed dispatch that he was in pursuit of a motorcycle on CR 405 traveling eastbound. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown were also enroute to assist. The driver then wrecked at CR 405 and PR 4052. EMS was dispatched to the scene. Sgt. Strouth advised that the driver had minor injuries to his legs. The driver was cleared by EMS and transported to the hospital in Caldwell by Sgt. Strouth to be medically cleared. BDS took possession of the motorcycle. The driver was cleared and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking. A report was taken.

03:53 - Bastrop County advised that a female subject was walking on Hwy 21 West just outside of the county line needing a ride back to her residence in Dime Box. Deputy Haman responded and located the subject. She was given a courtesy ride to her residence.

08:40 - Dispatch received a report of a calf out in the 2000 block of FM 696 West. Deputy L. Brown responded and secured the cow off the roadway.

10:47 - Sgt. West and Deputy Eickenhorst checked out with an abandoned vehicle at FM 141 and CR 121. The owner left a note in the vehicle stating they had hit a hog and would be back within 24 hours to pick up the vehicle. The vehicle was well off the roadway and secure.

11:26 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office and requested to speak with a deputy. She stated that her ex would not give her clothes back to her. Deputy Eickenhorst spoke with both parties. It was explained that that the incident is a civil matter, and to contact the Justice of the Peace.

14:46 - Deputy J. Hilmo conducted a traffic stop, and the driver came back wanted out of Austin. The driver was arrested and transported for booking into the Lee County Jail.

15:11 - A resident on Meadow Run Driver stated that he could hear automatic gun fire near his house. Deputy L. Brown responded and met with the resident. The deputy then went to Willow Creek Road, and located the people shooting who were doing so safely.

15:39 - Apple called 911 stating the owner of the phone had been in an accident on PR 6010. Sgt. West, Deputy Eickenhorst and Trooper Pennartz responded to the call. They made contact with the land owner who advised that his granddaughter dropped her phone off the tractor. Everything was fine.

16:18 - Dispatch received a 911 call from an address on CR 337 about an ATV accident. The caller stated that two female subjects were on the ATV when it flipped. Sgt. West, Deputy Eickenhorst, Deputy L. Brown and Trooper Pennartz responded to the call along with EMS and Lexington VFD. Patients were transported. Information was taken for a report.

16:30 - Deputy J. Hilmo was dispatched to CR 124 near the Yegua bridge for donkeys out. The donkeys went back onto property on the Burleson County side of the bridge but there was no gate to keep them in.

18:10 - A motorist requested a welfare check on a female walking along side FM 696 West walking towards Bastrop. Deputy Haman responded and checked all the way to the Bastrop County line but was unable to locate anyone walking.

18:57 - Multiple callers advised of a truck pulling a trailer with brush on fire on Hwy 21 West. At the time of the call, the vehicle was passing FM 1624. Sgt. Strouth responded and the vehicle stopped just west of FM 1624. Lincoln VFD was paged to put out the fire. The trailer was still drivable, and the vehicle was back on roadway.

19:20 - Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown were dispatched to a residence on CR 127 for an assault. The complainant stated that a male subject threw a brick in his face and left the scene.  Sgt. Strouth checked the area for the subject while Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown spoke with the complainant to gather information for a report. Sgt. Strouth was unable to locate the subject in the area. The complainant stated that he did not want to file charges at this time but a report was taken.

20:48 - A caller reported a male subject in the parking lot at the rodeo arena on Hwy 290 West screaming and cussing at people. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman responded and all parties were separated. The male subject left the property. No report at this time.
