 May 15, 2023

03:11 - Deputy J. Brown conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 West at CR 200. The male driver was identified and found to have an active warrant out of Travis County. The warrant was confirmed, and the driver was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

06:43 - A complainant from Bubba's Truck Stop reported that a male subject stole a bottle of beer from the store. Cpl. Ellington responded and met with the complainant. A report was taken.

06:43 - Bastrop County advised of a reckless driver on Hwy 290 West traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. The vehicle was described as a silver or white SUV. At the time of call, the vehicle was passing Hwy 21 in Paige. Giddings PD later located the vehicle in town and conducted a traffic stop. Deputy E. Hilmo assisted with the traffic stop. The driver was released.

08:27 - Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to the 1100 block of CR 200 for an animal complaint. A caller stated that a herd of cattle were being starved in the area. The deputy located the cattle and stated that they appear to be a little thin but have plenty of food and water.

09:05 - A complainant reported that someone broke into his place of business on Hwy 290 West in the Hills area. He advised they stole some tools. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the complainant, and an ID was found at the scene. A report was taken case.

09:10 - Brinks Home Security advised of a residential burglar alarm at an address on US 77. Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and checked the property. The house was secure and there were no signs of suspicious activity.

09:29 - Pct. 1 Commissioner reported that someone stole a warning sign from CR 127 near FM 180. Cpl. Ellington spoke with the commissioner, and information was taken for a report.

10:01 - Dispatch received a call about a cow out on FM 1697 near Cedar Creek. Cpl. Ellington checked the area but could not locate any loose livestock.

11:33 - Cpl. Ellington was dispatched to Inge Street to meet with a resident about an animal complaint. The resident stated that her neighbor's dog keeps coming onto her property and trying to attack her dog. The deputy attempted to make contact with the neighbor, but no one was home.

12:38 - A caller reported a calf out on the side of the road on Hwy 290 East between FM 180 and CR 233. Deputy E. Hilmo checked the area but could not locate any loose livestock.

13:40 - A complainant from CR 133 came to the Sheriff's Office to report that on May 10th someone broke into her home. The complainant advised that she also has video footage of the break-in. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the complainant, and information was taken for a report.

18:07 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to CR 117 for trespassing. The property owner stated that an individual with an active Criminal Trespass Warning was on her property tearing up her entrance. Upon arrival, there was no one on the property, and no signs of any damage.

19:24 - Dispatch received a 911 call about a brown calf out on Hwy 21 East near CR 114. Deputy Dudley responded and searched the area but could not locate any loose livestock.

19:48 - Sgt. Holloway spoke with a complainant about property damage on PR 8059 and CR 430. Information was taken, and a follow up will be conducted. No report at this time.

20:01 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded to a disturbance at Tex-Villa Apartments. The caller stated that the landlord shut off her power after an argument. She then stated that her boyfriend and the owner were arguing and it could turn physical. Upon arrival, the parties were separated. Bluebonnet was contacted to have the check the power lines. They advised they will but a private electrician would have to be contacted to check the breaker box. Information was taken for a report.

20:42 - A motorist reported several black and brown cows out on FM 1697 near the 1700 block. Another motorist advised that he saw six head of black cows out on FM 1697 west of CR 125. Sgt. Holloway checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

May 16, 2023

11:30 - Deputy E. Hilmo conducted a case follow up on Hwy 290 West.

14:06 - A motorist called 911 to report that a black SUV pulled out in front of her and would not let her pass. At the time of call, the vehicle was entering Lexington on Hwy 77. Cpl. Ellington and Chief Garza both advised they would not be able to catch up to the vehicle. The call was transferred to Milam County.

17:48 - Dispatch received a call about goats out on FM 141 near CR 428. Sgt. Strouth responded and removed the goats from the roadway. The owner was notified and advised he would fix the problem.

19:43 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office wanting to speak with someone in regards to her vehicle being impounded. Information was taken and passed onto CID.

21:22 - Giddings PD requested fire and EMS to be paged out to a two-vehicle accident near the 100 block of West Austin Street. They also requested a deputy to help them with locating the driver from one of the units that fled on foot. Deputy Dudley assisted but was unable to locate the suspect.

21:27 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to FM 696 West for a complaint about a dark colored pickup that threw rocks at another vehicle causing damage to the windshield. The area was searched for the suspected vehicle, but the deputy did not locate it.

 

May 17, 2023

00:47 - Deputy Dudley, Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Haman assisted Giddings PD with locating a vehicle on Hwy 290 traveling westbound that was reported stolen. Giddings PD unit located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the Cefco parking lot. Deputy Haman arrived on scene to assist with the stop.

01:10 - Deputy Dudley advised he was out with two suspicious vehicles at the Giddings High School. The vehicles were unoccupied and secure.

08:47 - Giddings PD advised that someone informed them of a lot of flowerpots all over the road on Hwy 77 near CR 223. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and removed the debris from the roadway.

10:22 - A caller from CR 433 stated that his neighbor had a cowboy come from Caldwell to pick up his bull and take it to the Caldwell auction barn. He called the auction barn, and they had no record of the bull. Deputy J. Hilmo made contact with the neighbor and found out the bull was taken to the Giddings sale barn. The information was passed on to the caller.

13:27 - Deputy Crenshaw met with a resident from CR 223 at the Sheriff's Office in reference to a scam. She stated that a male subject keeps calling her and wanting her to go to Walmart and purchase gift card. The deputy advised her to not purchase anything and blocked the phone number on her phone.

13:30 - A 911 caller reported a reckless driver traveling westbound on Hwy 21. The 18-wheeler was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. All Lee County units were advised of the reckless driver. Trooper McCoy located the 18-wheeler on Hwy 21 at Walch Store. The driver was advised to take rest at the store because he was falling asleep at the wheel.

14:12 - Sgt. West was dispatched to Arrowhead Storage on FM 696 West to meet with a complainant about a possible theft. The complainant stated that her storage unit was burglarized.  It was determined that the landlord took the complainant's stuff but returned it back to her.

15:37 - Dispatch received a 911 call from an address on CR 132. The caller stated that his cousin had been cut with a razor blade at Dime Box Grocery by a female subject. Lt. Adams, Sgt. West, Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy L. Brown all responded to the call along with EMS. The victim was transported to a hospital in Bryan. The suspect was located, and information was taken for a report.

18:15 - Deputy Haman was dispatched to the 100 block of CR 200 for an animal complaint. The caller stated that cows in the area appear to be starving. The deputy located 15-20 cows, and all appear to be healthy and have food and water. The deputy also checked three pastures on the north side of CR 200 and all cattle appear to be healthy in the area.

19:53 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from Burns Street in Lexington. Attempts were made to make contact, but no one answered. Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with a homeowner, but the phone number did not match. The deputy advised that a church was across the street, and he would make contact with someone. Contact was made, and they advised that it was an accidental call.

19:54 - Deputy J. Brown conducted a case follow up on CR 314. A statement form was given.

21:19 - A business owner from Hwy 290 East reported that her husband saw a man parked in front of the building on a blue and white motorcycle. Her husband tried to make contact with the subject, but he took off. She requested deputies to conduct a close patrol throughout the night. At the time of the initial call, Deputy Haman drove Hwy 290 East in an attempt to locate the subject and motorcycle but was unable to do so. The property and building were check, and everything was secure.

 

May 18, 2023

02:20 - Deputy J. Brown conducted a security check at the fairgrounds on Hwy 290 West. Everything was okay.

06:29 - A 911 caller from CR 454 stated her boyfriend would not give her baby to her and hit her. Sgt. West, Deputy L. Brown, Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst all responded to the call. The male subject was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant out of another county. He was transported and booked into the Lee County Jail. Information was taken for a report.

08:25 - CPS requested a deputy for a civil stand by at an address on CR 114. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and conducted the standby without incident.

09:14 - Brinks Home Security advised of a residential alarm off US 77. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and made contact with the homeowner. Everything was secure.

12:28 - Sgt. West checked out at an address on CR 454 for a case follow up. Information was taken for the report.

13:14 - Sgt. West advised he was out at a business on FM 141 for a case follow up on case number 23-05-0280. Information taken, no report.

14:16 - A resident from Wilson Boyd Lane in Lexington requested to speak to a deputy about a scam. Deputy J. Hilmo spoke with the resident and advised him it was a scam. At the time, no money or information was given, and no report was needed.

14:53 - A homeowner from CR 312 called asking about having a restraining order or a criminal trespass warning issued on someone. Sgt. West spoke with the homeowner and a criminal trespass warning will be issued.

18:38 - Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown were dispatched to Hwy 21 at Hwy 77 for a one-vehicle accident. The driver stated that an 18-wheeler ran her off the roadway causing her to hit a stop sign and a yield sign. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was safely off the roadway. TxDOT was notified for the signs, and a crash report was taken.

19:19 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from the fairgrounds in Giddings. Sgt. Strouth responded and made contact with county units working security. They advised everything was fine.

20:33 - A motorist called requesting assistance with changing a tire in the 1300 block of Hwy 21 East. Deputy J. Brown responded and was able to get the tire changed. The motorist was back on the road.

22:14 - ADT Security advised of an alarm on West Bowers Avenue in Dime Box. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown checked the property and advised that the building was secure.

23:08 - Sgt. Strouth conducted a traffic stop at the 1000 block of Hwy 290 West. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and a firearm. The driver was transported and booked into the Lee County Jail. The vehicle was released to the passenger, and a report was taken.

23:18 - Central Solutions requested a welfare check at the Lexington Food Mart because the closing alarm had not yet been activated. Deputy J. Brown checked the property and advised there was no suspicious activity, and the building was secure.

 

May 19, 2023

02:17 - Deputy J. Brown checked out at Bubba's Truck Stop with two suspicious vehicles. Both vehicles were unoccupied and secure.

06:16 - A 911 caller advised that he had been involved in a two-vehicle accident on FM 696 just west of CR 306. Everyone was out of the vehicles, which were in the roadway. Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the accident along with EMS and Blue VFD. The driver of one of the vehicles came back wanted out of another county. The driver was transported to the ER for medical clearance, and then transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.

11:15 - A motorist reported a grey Ford F-150 traveling eastbound on Hwy 290 West at a high rate of speed and tailgating other vehicles. At the time of call, the vehicle was passing CR 205 heading into Giddings. The call was transferred to Giddings PD.

13:11 - Deputy E. Hilmo conducted a case follow up on Hwy 290 West. Information was taken for the report.

18:35 - A resident in Lexington requested to speak to a deputy in regard to his children who live in Milam County and a registered sex offender out of Lee County being around them. Sgt. Holloway spoke with the resident and will get in contact with Milam County and Lexington Chief Garza.

19:46 - Giddings PD advised they received a call from Tex-Villa Apartments about a male subject that had been assaulted by another tenant at the apartments and made terroristic threats towards the victim. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded to the call. The victim relocated to Altman Plants before the deputies arrived on scene. Both deputies met with the victim and gathered information before returning back to the scene. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail. A report was also taken.

19:58 - ADT Security advised of a residential burglary alarm at an address on CR 302. Deputy Dickerson responded and checked the area. Everything was secure.

21:19 - Dispatch received a 911 call about a reckless driver on Hwy 21 traveling westbound from Old Dime Box. The vehicle was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Due to units not being in the area, the vehicle was unable to be located.

23:04 - Deputy Dudley attempted to stop a vehicle on Independence Street at Leon Street but the vehicle was not stopping. The vehicle finally stopped at San Antonio Street. Giddings PD assisted Deputy Dudley with the traffic stop before Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dickerson arrived on scene. The subject was taken into custody for Evading and booked into the Lee County Jail. Govan's took possession of the vehicle.

 

May 20, 2023

00:45 - A resident on South Rockdale Street in Lexington advised that his neighbor was burning brush in the front yard and yelling loudly. Sgt. Holloway responded and spoke with the neighbor.

02:13 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at North Dallas Street. Probable cause was obtained for a search of the vehicle. Deputy Dudley arrived on scene to assist. The driver was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail. BDS took possession of the vehicle.

02:58 - A 911 call from an address off FM 141 advised that her husband assaulted her. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded and separated the parties upon arrival.  The wife did not wish to press charges and the husband stay with family members for the night. Information was taken for a report.

08:53 - A complainant from CR 213 came to the Sheriff's Office to file a fraud report. The complainant was scammed into wiring funds. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the complainant and information was taken for a report.

11:47 - Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to Hwy 77 north of Lexington to assist a motorist. The caller stated that an 18-wheeler was stalled in the northbound outside lane of traffic. The driver had triangles set out but it was in a blind curve. The deputy assisted with traffic control, and BDS was dispatched to tow the vehicle to a safe location in Tanglewood.

15:48 - Dispatch received a 911 call about a disturbance on Old Nails Creek Road. The caller stated that about six people were outside the residence arguing. The call was transferred to Giddings PD. Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo assisted Giddings PD with the call.

16:11 - A 911 caller stated that he was just assault and wanted to file charges. Dispatch could hear another man in the background provoking the caller. The two subjects started yelling at each other and the call dropped. The location of the call was in the 2000 block of FM 112. Cpl. Ellington and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the call while dispatch attempted to make contact with the caller again. The deputies made contact with parties involved and were advised it was a family feud. One subject left the scene prior to deputies' arrival. Information was taken for a report.

18:19 - Deputy Dudley conducted a traffic stop on North Main Street at Houston Street in Giddings. The deputy conducted a PC search of the vehicle. Deputy Dickerson arrived on scene to assist. The driver was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail. Govan's took possession of the vehicle. A report was taken.

18:35 - Cpl. Ellington advised he was clearing roadway debris off Hwy 290 eastbound a few miles outside of Giddings. The roadway was cleared.

19:36 - A caller advised he saw a Ford Explorer failing to maintain a single lane of traffic on FM 696 West traveling towards Lexington. Deputy Dickerson checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

20:04 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to CR E for a noise complaint. The complainant stated that he could hear loud music coming from the same county road. Deputy Dickerson located a large party and made contact with the property owners. While on scene, dispatch received another noise complaint about the music. The property owner was told to turn down the music. Dispatch received several more calls about the loud music. At 22:56, Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded to the area, but the party was ending.

20:46 - A motorist reported a vehicle traveling westbound on Hwy 290 near the fairgrounds with no lights on. Deputy Dudley checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

20:51 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to Cherry Drive in Lexington for a possible hit and run accident. The caller stated that he had witnessed a truck leaving the address and hit another person's vehicle and left the scene. The vehicle owner was still on scene. The driver of the other vehicle called 911 to request a deputy to make scene because the other vehicle owner is falsely accusing him of hitting his vehicle. The deputy remained on scene until both parties exchanged information.

22:18 - A caller reported a reckless driver traveling southbound on Hwy 77 failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded and located the vehicle. Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop and the driver was released.

22:29 - Sgt. Holloway was dispatched to Hwy 290 near the fairgrounds for a male subject walking and carrying a child. The area was checked but no subject or child was located.

23:20 - Alarm Connections requested a welfare check at the Lexington Food Mart. Deputy Dickerson responded and advised everything was secure.

 

May 21, 2023

00:00 - Dispatch received a call about a white bull out on FM 180 near PR 5009. Deputy Dudley responded to the call. Upon arrival, the caller and another subject were still on scene and made contact with the owner of the bull. Owner information was given to dispatch. The bull was secured off the roadway.

02:14 - A motorist advised of a Dodge truck failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and traveling at a high rate of speed on Hwy 77 South close to the Fayette County line. Information was passed on to Fayette County.

07:00 - Cpl. Ellington was dispatched to FM 696 near Sherrill Lane for a one-vehicle rollover accident. EMS and Blue VFD were also dispatched to the scene. Squad One was first on scene and saw all three subjects leave in white van eastbound towards Lexington. The property owner was notified of the fence damage. B&M took possession of the vehicle. Information was taken for a report.

07:18 - Deputy E. Hilmo met with a complainant on Fifth Street in Lexington about a stray dog. The complainant stated that the dog was wondering around the apartment complex and appeared to be sick. The deputy was unable to make contact with the on-call animal control officer. Information will be forwarded to Lexington PD.

19:36 - A resident on CR 430 advised that he thinks his neighbor had stolen something out of his shed. Deputy Dudley responded and gathered information for a report.

22:43 - Dispatch received a 911 call in regard to a reckless driver traveling eastbound on Hwy 290. The call was transferred to Giddings PD, but no units were able to catch up to the vehicle. Information was passed on to Fayette County.

23:34 - Deputy Dudley responded to a 911 hang up call in the 1000 block of CR 133. Contact was made with individuals who advised that a child was playing with the phone. There was no emergency.
