March 13, 2023

00:34 - A resident at Tex-Villa Apartments called 911 to report that there was a male subject lying in her apartment without her permission. The resident stated the apartment has been vacant for over a month, but she was still paying the rent and her personal belongings were still inside the apartment. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the call along with Giddings PD. Contact was made with the subject who was identified as the maintenance man. He advised he was given permission by the apartment manager to stay there because the apartment was unoccupied. Information was taken.

01:02 - Pflugerville PD advised that a male subject was at an urgent care in their city because of an incident that occurred on FM 696 W. The subject told the doctors that he thought he was shooting at a snake but shot his foot instead. Sgt. Holloway met with the subject and gathered more information for a report.

08:24 - Deputy J. Brown was dispatched to an address on FM 448 for an animal complaint. The complainant stated that someone dumped a dog on his property, and it was acting strange. The deputy was able to catch the dog and transport it to the Giddings Animal Shelter.

11:44 - Deputy Haman advised she was out on a property located at CR 424 and CR 433 to get a bull off the property that was mistakenly placed there last week. The cowboy was unable to catch the bull with no horse or supplies but would be back the next day to try again. Information was taken for a report.

15:04 - Dispatch received a call about illegal dumping on W CR 415 in Lexington. Deputy Haman responded and took a report.

15:42 - Deputy J. Brown checked out with a disabled motorist on Hwy 21 near FM 1624. The motorist had a flat tire that roadside assistance was changing.

15:48 - Deputy Haman located a loose goat near the 7800 block of FM 1624. The goat was secured off the roadway.

16:37 - Chief Garza conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 77 North. The driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail for an out of county warrant. The passenger was given a courtesy ride to Cefco in Lexington. Tillary's took possession of the vehicle.

17:12 - A resident on CR 205 reported that someone was stealing her mail. Deputy Haman responded and met with the resident. Information was taken for a report.

21:49 - ADT advised of a business alarm on CR 111. Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded and checked the area but did not locate any suspicious activity. Owner arrived on scene and advised it was possibly the cat.

23:58 - Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo checked out with an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 290 West near the county line. The vehicle was unoccupied and secured. Deputies tagged the vehicle.

 

March 14, 2023

00:45 - A caller advised that a juvenile female that was staying with him had left the residence on CR 127 without permission, and he has been unable to make contact with her. Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded and advised that the juvenile showed back up at the residence. The juvenile's aunt picked her up. No report at this time.

05:27 - Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw, Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Haman responded to a security call on East CR F. The deputies checked the residence, and all was secure.

05:47 - A motorist reported a semi partially blocking the southbound lane of traffic on Hwy 77 just north of Lexington. Deputy J. Brown located the semi and made contact with the driver. He advised that tow truck was on the way. The semi was safely out of the lane of traffic.

09:25 - Bastrop County transferred a call about a black cow out on FM 2239 near PR 6010. Deputy Haman checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

10:02 - Deputy Haman advised she was out on CR 205 for a case follow up. Information was taken.

11:53 - Dispatch received a 911 call from a resident on CR 430 advising he found his son deceased. Sheriff Goetz, Lt. Adams, Deputy Haman, Deputy J. Brown and Deputy L. Brown responded to the call along with Lexington Officer Reyna for translation purposes. Information was taken for a report.

12:11 - Deputy Haman was dispatched to CR A for an animal complaint. The complainant stated that there are several dogs running loose near his property. Every time he tries to leave his property, the dogs grown and snarl at him. The deputy spoke with the owner of the dogs and advised them to keep them secured.

12:16 - St. Joseph's hospital reported a dog bite victim came in from CR 404 in Dime Box. Deputy Brown met with the victim and a report was taken.

12:55 - A motorist reported multiple donkeys out on FM 696 East near PR 7022. Constable Stephens checked the area but was unable to locate the donkeys.

13:27 - Deputy L. Brown responded to Hwy 77 South just south of Hwy 21 for guard rail damage blocking the right lane. As the deputy was arriving on scene, a car hit the railing. Govan's took possession of the car and TxDOT was advised of the damage. A crash report was taken.

13:29 - Dispatch received multiple calls about loose calves on FM 141 near CR 122. Deputy J. Brown responded to the call. Upon arrival, people were trying to get the calves put up. The deputy assisted with securing the calves off the roadway.

14:56 - A complainant from CR 324 came into the Sheriff's Office requesting to speak with a deputy about a Facebook scam that she experienced. Deputy J. Brown met with the complainant, and a report was taken.

17:08 - Deputy J. Brown was dispatched to Hwy 290 East to meet with a resident about a water line blocking his driveway. The water line was empty at the time of the call, but the deputy would attempt to make contact with the company that is running the line.

17:25 - Sgt. Ray stopped a vehicle at Leon Street and Hwy 290 that nearly hit a telephone pole. Deputy Haman responded to assist. A search of the vehicle was conducted. The driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail.  Govan's took possession of the vehicle. A report was taken.

18:46 - A juvenile called 911 stating he could hear gunshots outside his home on FM 141. Deputy Crenshaw responded and advised the neighbor was shooting at a dirt pile behind the house. Everything was okay.

18:48 - Dispatch received a call about a motorcycle in the ditch on FM 696 East at the Burleson County line near the bridge. Deputy J. Hilmo checked the area but was unable to locate the motorcycle.

19:56 - Washington County transferred a 911 call from a motorist reporting a reckless driver on Hwy 290 East going westbound. The motorist stated that the driver of the vehicle was pointing what looked like a gun with a red laser pointer at other cars. Cpl. West, Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded and located the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped at East Austin and North Grimes in Giddings. The driver has a temperature gun that he was pointing at drivers to scare them. The deputies advised the drive to not do that and released him.

20:17 - Cpl. West responded to a call about gunshots coming from a vehicle driving southbound on CR 306 towards FM 696 West. The deputy checked the area and remained in the area for a while but could not locate any vehicles matching the description.

22:29 - Bastrop County advised of a reckless driver on FM 696 W traveling eastbound. The vehicle was last seen near CR 306 when it almost hit one of their deputies. Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo checked the area from Lexington to the Bastrop County line but were unable to locate the vehicle.

23:12 - A motorist reported a reckless driver on Hwy 21 going westbound. At the time of the call, the vehicle was passing CR 430 and driving into oncoming traffic. Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to the area. Cpl. West conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2000 block of Hwy 21 East. The driver drove into a gate and got stuck on a cattle guard. Contact was made with the driver who stated that he was having medical issues and had previously had a stroke. Deputy Crenshaw gave the driver a courtesy ride back to his residence in Bryan. Family was contacted and advised of where the vehicle was parked.

 

March 15, 2023

01:36 - A security company reported an alarm at a residence on CR 205. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and checked the residence and surroundings. Everything was secured.

08:36 - Pct. 1 Commissioner requested a deputy for traffic control on CR 116 because people were disregarding the signs. Deputy Ellington responded and provided traffic control.

09:11 - Sgt. Jones advised he was out with a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 77 North of Elm Creek. The vehicle is unoccupied and secured off the roadway.

14:47 - A resident on CR 324 stated that someone is using her address for a Facebook scam. They even posted a picture of her porch. A second caller advised that he responded to the Facebook scam and paid money through Venmo for an item to be picked up at the address on CR 324. Deputy Webber met with both parties, and a report was taken.

17:29 - Deputy Dudley spoke with a complainant about some concerns he had about his tenant. The complainant stated he is in the process of evicting the tenant. After hearing the information the complainant had, Deputy Dudley advised him that it is a civil matter and will need to contact a lawyer.

21:10 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to a residence on FM 448 for suspicious activity. The caller stated that someone knocked on his door, but he was unable to see any person or vehicle. The deputies checked the residence and surroundings but did not see any signs of activity.

21:48 - A 911 caller advised that his coworker was having a reaction to an unknown substance or drug. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the call on FM 180 along with EMS. The subject was taken to the hospital. No report at this time.

21:52 - A motorist reported three black cows out on CR 133 near PR 1334. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy E. Hilmo located the cows and secured them off the roadway.

22:54 - Sgt. Holloway advised he was out with a suspicious vehicle at Bubba's Truck Stop. The vehicle was unoccupied and secured.

 

March 16, 2023

01:01 - Deputy E. Hilmo checked out with a suspicious vehicle at the post office in Lincoln. The vehicle was unoccupied and secured.

09:23 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to file a fraud report on her son's behalf. She advised that he was out of town and had power of attorney. Deputy Ellington met with the complainant and advised that her son needed to file the report. The son was about to meet with the deputy. Information was taken for a report.

11:02 - Deputy Dickerson assisted a motorist on Hwy 290 near PR 2901. The deputy followed the motorist to the travel plaza.

11:19 - A caller advised that he was involved in a one vehicle accident on CR 205. He stated that he lost control of his vehicle and hit a fence. The caller was okay and did not need EMS. Deputy Dickerson responded, and information was taken for a crash report. The landowner was notified of the damage to the fence. The vehicle was released to B&M towing.

11:27 - Sgt. Jones was dispatched to an address on CR 326 for an animal complaint. The complainant stated that three cows and one calf were on her property and wanted them removed because they do not belong to her. The deputy was able to move the cattle back to the property they belong on.

11:31 - A resident on CR 113 advised that his neighbor's cow was in his back yard, and wanted it removed. Deputy Ellington responded and moved the cow back onto the neighbor's property.

13:08 - Dispatch received a call from a father stating that he had been trying to call 911 and didn't get through. The father stated that he received a call from his wife telling him that someone on the property shot their son. He stated he did not have complete details and was on his way to the scene from Houston. Sheriff Goetz, Capt. Mastronardi, Lt. Adams, Sgt. Ray, Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Ellington, Deputy Webber and Deputy L. Brown all responded to the scene. EMS arrived on scene once it was secured. One male subject was found deceased. A report was taken.

14:19 - A motorist reported an 18-wheeler swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 21 West going eastbound. At the time of call, the vehicle was passing the Elm Creek RV Park. Deputy Ellington checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

20:08 - Deputy Kocurek was dispatched to FM 696 West at PR 7026 for animals on the roadway. The caller stated that three to four black cows were on the roadway heading towards Lexington. The deputy checked the area but was not able to locate the cattle.

20:32 - A complainant at Nails Creek State advised that a suspicious vehicle parked in front of their camping site and were not staying at one of the sites. Dispatch contacted Park Ranger Heatherly and was advised of the situation. The Park Ranger identified the male subject and advised him that the park was booked for Spring Break. The subject then left the park.

21:14 - Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to Elm Creek RV Park for an animal complaint. The caller stated that her neighbor left their dog out and was worried with the upcoming weather tonight. The deputy checked on the dog, which had shelter, and advised there were no signs of animal cruelty.

 

March 17, 2023

00:43 - Sgt. Holloway advised he was out with a suspicious vehicle at the Country Store in Dime Box. The vehicle was occupied by one male subject who advised that he was trying to sleep before trying to drive home. Everything was okay.

03:43 - A motorist reported that an 18-wheeler jack-knifed on Hwy 21 E near TxDOT. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched along with Lincoln VFD for traffic control. Govan's took possession of the vehicle. A crash report was taken.

07:19 - Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded to a call about headlights coming from the ditch on Hwy 21 near Elm Creek. The caller was not sure if there was a wreck or not. The vehicle was a landowner fixing his fence from a crash that happened the day before.

09:27 - A property owner on Hwy 290 West advised that a strange man in a truck was on his property. The property owner also stated that the man had been there for about 30 minutes walking around the property before he came up to the door and tried to open it. Deputy Haman and Deputy Eickenhorst responded and made contact with the subject. He stated that he was lost and was trying to get to Smithville. The deputies were following the subject when the property owner called back advising that the subject had stolen property out of his wife's car. Deputy Haman and Deputy Eickenhorst initiated a stop on FM 2104 and found the stolen items in the truck. The subject admitted to taking the items. He was placed under arrest and booked into the Lee County Jail.

10:30 - Phillips and Luckey requested a funeral escort from St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincoln to Giddings City Cemetery. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Brown assisted with the escort.

11:18 - A complainant reported animal cruelty at a residence on CR 118. The dog was chained up with no shelter. Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with owner. The owner was advised to make sure the dog has shelter.

12:48 - Altman Plants advised there was an 18-wheeler blocking their entrance. Deputy Haman responded and advised the 18-wheeler was not blocking the entrance to the plant. The vehicle was off the roadway, but the driver was advised to move to the Travel Plaza to finish his break.

13:23 - Sgt. Strouth was out with a motorist whose car was smoking on Hwy 21 in Dime Box. The driver was made aware.

14:09 - Texas DPS Communications advised of a disabled vehicle located on Hwy 77 just north of Hwy 21. Deputy Webber made contact with the driver and requested a tow truck. B&M Towing responded and took possession of the vehicle. The driver was given a courtesy ride by the deputy.

16:40 - Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman and Deputy Eickenhorst were dispatched to a business on CR 425 in Dime Box. The complainant stated that he had been assaulted by the owner of the store. The complainant and his wife were advised to meet deputies at the JP4 building. Information was gathered for a report. A criminal trespass warning was issued to the complainant.

18:09 - Deputy J. Hilmo came across a three-vehicle accident on Hwy 290 at Altman Plants. No injuries were reported, and vehicles were off the roadway. A crash report was taken.

18:17 - Dispatch received multiple calls about a two-vehicle major accident on Hwy 77 just north of Hwy 21. Sgt. Strouth, Cpl. West, Deputy Haman and Deputy Crenshaw responded to the accident. Lincoln VFD was dispatched for traffic control.  EMS transported two patients. Govan's and Tillary's took possession of the vehicles. DPS took a crash report.

19:35 - A motorist reported a cow out on FM 696 West between CR 304 and CR 305. Deputy Crenshaw checked the area but was unable to locate the cow.

20:59 - Deputy J. Hilmo was dispatched to Hwy 77 S for a reckless driver. The caller advised that a vehicle with no lights was failing to maintain lanes. At the time of the call, the vehicle was passing CR 220.  The deputy located and stopped the vehicle. The driver was given a warning.

22:34 - Dispatch received a call about cows out on CR 133 at CR 116. Deputy Crenshaw checked the area but was unable to locate the cows.

 

March 18, 2023

01:09 - Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo were dispatched to the Silos on CR 223 for a disturbance. The caller advised that a male subject was drunk and being aggressive. All parties were separated, and information was taken for a report.

03:14 - Cpl. West and Deputy J. Hilmo checked out with a vehicle on the side of the road on Hwy 21 east of Hwy 77. The driver was waiting for someone to come drive the vehicle.  

04:48 - Multiple callers advised of a major three vehicle accident on Hwy 21 East between CR 426 and the Burleson County line. Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded along with EMS, Dime Box VFD and Lexington VFD. EMS transported a patient to Bryan. BDS took possession of the big rig. Tillary's and Govan's took possession of the other two vehicles.

07:05 - A resident on PR 8049 call 911requesting a deputy to come out and witness the bad electrical problems he has been enduring. The resident believes his landlord is trying to burn the trailer down. He also stated he has no water because the pipes are bad to the trailer. Deputy J. Brown responded and checked the property. The resident was given a courtesy ride to Bubba's Truck Stop.

13:35 - Reserve Deputy Terpstra checked out with an abandoned vehicle around the 5600 block of Hwy 77 North. Vehicle was off the roadway and red tagged.

16:45 - A 911 caller advised of a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 77 North near CR 411. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman, Deputy J. Brown, Deputy Eieckenhorst and Reserve Deputy Terpstra responded along with EMS and Tanglewood VFD. The driver was out of the vehicle but unsure of injuries. TxDOT was notified of CR 411 sign being damaged. Tillary's took possession of the vehicle. EMS transported the driver to Caldwell.

18:06 - Deputy J. Brown, Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to a reckless driver call on Hwy 77 South entering the Giddings city limits. The units checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

18:24 - A motorist reported a reckless driver on Hwy 21 West traveling east bound. It was a truck pulling a trailer with debris flying off the trailer. Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo checked the area to the Burleson County line and were unable to locate the vehicle.

18:53 - Deputy J. Hilmo came across the truck and trailer from the previous reckless driver call parked on the side of the roadway near the 4300 block of Hwy 21 West. Cpl. West and Deputy Crenshaw assisted. The driver was advised that the trailer was not safe to be driven at that time. The driver would be waiting for someone to come help secure the load.

19:45 - A caller reported cows out on FM 141 near CR 116. Deputy J. Hilmo responded and secured the cows. Owner information was provided.

19:47 - Dispatch received a call about a large longhorn out on Hwy 21 E near CR 454. Deputy Crenshaw checked the area but was unable to locate the longhorn.

19:58 - Cpl. West and Giddings VFD were dispatched to a residence on FM 2440. The caller advised it was a possible structure fire across. Cpl. West arrived on scene and advised it was a large control burn.

20:28 - Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to a noise complaint on CR128. The deputies located where the noise was coming from and advised them to turn down the music.

21:03 - A complainant reported people on ATVs were doing donuts in the roadway on CR 133. Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

22:33 - Cpl. West and Deputy Crenshaw returned to CR 128 for a noise complaint at the same residence. The caller stated that the music had gotten louder. The deputies stayed in the area with the decibel reader and advised that the noise was within good limits. The party ended while the deputies were in the area.

 

March 19, 2023

08:53 - A motorist reported a cow out on FM 1624 just past Fedor. Deputy J. Brown located the cow and secured it off the roadway.

10:02 - Deputy Haman was out on Hwy 77 South and PR 7705 with roadway debris. The debris was removed from the roadway.

10:55 - Dispatch received a call about some cows out on CR 226. Deputy Haman checked all the way to the county line on CR 226 but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

11:55 - Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown assisted Giddings PD with a domestic call at Rolling Oaks Apartments. One subject was booked into the Lee County Jail.

13:33 - A complainant called requesting to speak with deputy about a missing bull she claims her neighbor has.  Deputy Haman met with the complainant on Cr 431. The bull was not located on the neighbor's property nor at the sale barns. Cowboys will be contacted to see if they picked up the bull.

15:02 - A caller advised of an accident on Hwy 290 West at FM 180. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman, Deputy J. Brown and Deputy Eickenhorst responded along with Giddings VFD and EMS. Owen's took possession of one of the vehicles. A citation was issued for failing to yield to right away. A crash report was taken.

15:34 - Deputy Haman checked out with a disabled 18-wheeler on Hwy 290 at CR 226. Everything was okay.

16:44 - A 911 caller reported a reckless oversized load going southbound on Hwy 77 through Lexington. Deputy Haman was able to speak with the pilot car who advised the load has to take three lanes of traffic. The load will be taking FM 1624 to Hwy 21 to avoid the city. The pilot car also called Giddings PD and they are allowing the load to go through. Deputy Haman advised oversized loads are prohibited on Sundays through the city. Giddings PD will be contacted to make sure the load is allowed.

17:08 - A motorist called 911 stating there was a dark color sedan on the side of Hwy 290 west near CR 200 with a girl on top of the vehicle waving people down. A second caller stated it looked like they might have crashed into the median, Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded. The driver stated that she had a flat tire and had no way of getting the tire off. Govan's responded to the request of a wrecker.

18:10 - Milam County advised they had an informant following a vehicle that had a known wanted person driving on FM 112. Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw, Deputy Haman, Deputy J. Brown, Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Eickenhorst stopped the vehicle at FM 112 and FM 696. The driver was identified and had three out of county felony warrants. All warrants were confirmed as well as other local charges. Govan's took possession of the vehicle. The subject was booked into the Lee County Jail. A report was taken.

22:27 - Deputy Crenshaw was dispatched to CR 133 near CR 116 for cows out. The area was checked but the deputy could not locate any loose livestock.
