March 6, 2023

06:08 - Deputy Ellington conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at the Travel Plaza. Passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant out of El Paso. The subject was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail.

09:41- Fayette County transferred a 911 call about a one vehicle accident on Hwy 77 South near PR 7707. The caller reported that he had hit a large metal object in the roadway, and it caused damage to his vehicle. He was not injured but his vehicle was disabled. Trooper Ntabo and Deputy Ellington responded to the accident. The metal object was located and removed from the roadway. B&M took possession of the vehicle, and a crash report was taken by DPS.

10:15 - A complainant requested a deputy to meet with him at his residence on CR 208 for a pit bull that was dumped on his property. He advised the dog was very friendly but wanted it removed. Deputy Dickerson met with the complaint and contacted the animal shelter. The animal shelter could not accept the animal.

13:05 - Deputy Ellington met with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office in reference to a dispute. The complainant stated that his neighbor is trying to run a fence line through his property located on CR 430. The complainant wad advised it was a civil matter.

13:37 - Dispatch received a call about a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 21 at FM 1624. The caller advised that one of the vehicles was in the middle of the roadway. One person complained of chest pains. Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Ellington assisted Trooper Ntabo, Trooper Pennartz, EMS and Lincoln VFD with the accident. DPS took the crash report.

15:02 - Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Ellington were dispatched to the Country Store to assist Trooper Ntabo, Trooper Pennartz, EMS and Dime Box VFD with a one vehicle accident. The store clerk stated that someone crashed into the front doors of the store. The driver appeared to be okay. DPS took the crash report.

15:14 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to file an identity theft report. The complainant was told that someone in New Mexico was using his identity to collect unemployment. Lt. Adams spoke with the complainant and a report was taken.

16:20 - Deputy Ellington responded to a two-vehicle accident on FM 696 West. The caller stated her son was involved in an accident, and there were no injuries. Due to little damage, no report was needed. Both parties exchanged information and citations were issued.

19:13 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from an address on W. Austin Street. Dispatch was able to make contact, and the caller advised it was an accidental call.

 

March 7, 2023

01:27 - Govan's advised they would have a big rig wrecker out with an 18-wheeler at the intersection of FM 180 and CR 127 on a private request. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and assisted with traffic control. The 18-wheeler was removed from roadway.

01:36 - A resident on CR 329 reported that there was someone knocking at the back of her residence. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded and checked around the residence. Everything was secured and no signs of any suspicious activity.

02:01 - Deputy E. Hilmo advised he was out with cattle on CR 127. He was able to secure the cattle off the roadway.

06:23 - Giddings PD requested assistance with traffic control at Independence Street and North Williamson Street. There was a train blocking traffic on East Austin Street and 18-wheelers were going down residential streets trying to get to FM 2440. Deputy Ellington assisted with the traffic control.

08:24 - A motorist reported a Freightliner pulling a flatbed trailer swerving all over the roadway at an unsafe speed on Hwy 77 North entering Lexington. Deputy Ellington located and stopped the vehicle just inside Lexington. Contact was made with the driver, who was okay and released.

09:29 - A resident on CR 405 advised that a pit bull she was taking care of took off. She stated that the dog is brindle and white in color with a pink and white reflective collar and a red collar with bells. She also advised that the dog is a service dog. Deputy Dickerson and Constable Stephens checked the area but were unable to locate the dog. If someone finds it, she can be contacted, and she will pick up the dog.

09:37 - Deputy Ellington met with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office in reference to fraud. The complainant advised that he was scammed out of money. The bank was able to refund him the money but wanted to report it. Since the complainant was able to get his money back, no report was taken at this time.

13:53 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on CR 233. Both driver and passenger were detained.  A firearm was found during a PC search of the vehicle. Firearm came back clear, and both subjects were released with citations.

16:14 - A caller on CR 307 advised that a dually truck was trespassing on his property. Sgt. Jones and Deputy Ellington responded and located the vehicle. The driver was identified as the caller's brother. The caller did not know his brother came down to visit him. Everything was okay.

16:26 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to Deer Valley Drive to meet with a complainant in reference to aggressive dogs. The complainant stated that the neighbors have aggressive dogs that they allow to run loose. An attempt was made to speak with the owner of the dogs, but they were not home. No report at this time.

16:41 - Dispatch received a call from a female subject who stated that she was just hit by a Ford F250 as she was driving down CR 333. She did not have her phone, so she followed them all the way into Bastrop County to Stockade Ranch Road. At that time, the vehicle turned around and tried to hit her head on. The caller then pulled over and was able to locate someone with a phone. The vehicle left north on Stockade Ranch Road. Sgt. Jones met with the caller at her residence on CR 333. She was able to get a license plate and gave it to the deputy. The suspect vehicle may be the one involved with a burglary on CR 333. A report was taken.

16:43 - A resident on Hwy 77 South requested a criminal trespass warning be issued against the father of her child. Deputy Ellington met with the complainant and attempted to make contact with the father but was unable to do so.

18:10 - A motorist reported two cows out on CR 204. Deputy E. Hilmo was able to locate the cows and remove them from the roadway.

19:01 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to a call about suspicious activity on Avenue G in Lexington. The caller stated he could hear what sounded like kids screaming in pain. The deputies checked the area but could not locate any suspicious activity.

19:28 - A resident on Hwy 290 East reported that someone knocked on her front and back doors and wanted a deputy to check it out. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy E. Hilmo were enroute from Lexington. Giddings PD assisted and checked the area but found no suspicious person or activity.

19:42 - Deputy E. Hilmo made contact with a subject who reported that he has not been able to make contact with his wife who was driving home from Florida to their residence on Shaw Street. The daughter was contacted, who advised that the wife's phone had been messing up and everything was okay.

22:16 - Fayette County transferred a 911 call about a reckless driver on Hwy 77 South going north bound. Giddings PD was able locate and stop the vehicle. Deputy Dudley stopped out with GPD units. Contact was made with the driver, and a warning was issued.

22:38 - Sgt. Holloway made contact with a female subject at Bubba's Truck Stop in Dime Box. Everything was okay and the subject was released.

 

March 8, 2023

00:52 - A caller advised that she wanted it documented that her donkey got out from her residence on CR 405. She stated that she could hear him but not see him. She did not want to speak with a deputy but wanted it documented in case anyone called about the donkey.

03:56 - Deputy Dudley responded to a call about debris in the roadway on FM 112. The motorist stated that a large branch was lying in the roadway just outside the city limits of Lexington. The roadway was cleared of the debris.

06:34 - Deputy J. Brown checked out with a disabled vehicle on Hwy 77 at the Middle Yegua. Contact was made with the driver who advised everything was okay.

07:27 - A disabled school bus was on East Austin Street at Orange Street. Deputy Haman and Deputy Eickenhorst assisted Giddings PD with transferring the children to a new bus.

08:02 - A truck and trailer were blocking the roadway on Hwy 77 at Caldwell Street. Deputy J. Brown located the driver inside the store and advised him to move the vehicle.

08:15 - Deputy J. Brown came across a calf out on CR 401. The calf was removed and secured off the roadway.

08:45 - A motorist reported some debris in the middle of Hwy 290 going east bound near the Hills community. Deputy J. Brown checked the area but was unable to locate any debris.

09:26 - Dispatch received a 911 call with a male subject screaming in the background before the phone disconnected. Dispatch called back and the phone went straight to voicemail. Deputy Haman, Deputy Eickenhorst and Deputy J. Brown were dispatched to Kay Street to make contact with someone. Deputy J. Brown was first on scene and advised the front door was wide open. The deputies made entry and found a child in the house but were also able to make contact with the homeowner. The homeowner stated that the people that were arguing had left the premises. Everything was okay.

12:12 - Deputy J. Brown responded to a call about an animal complaint on CR 200. The complainant stated that a pit bull was in his yard and was afraid to let his dogs out of the house. The dog was transported to the Giddings Animal Shelter.

12:59 - Sgt. Strouth was dispatched to Kocurek Street in Dime Box to meet with a caller in reference to vandalism. The caller stated that her car had been vandalized. She also advised that her friend made a report with Caldwell PD in reference to her purse missing. No further property was missing. A report was taken.

1957 - Dispatch was advised that Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Crenshaw would be out at a residence on CR 135 for a case follow up on a previous call. Information was taken.

20:10 - A subject came into the Sheriff's Office to speak with a deputy about questions on her statement form. Cpl. West spoke with the subject in the lobby.

 

March 9, 2023

04:38 - Simply Safe reported a residential burglary alarm on CR 424. Cpl. West and Deputy J. Hilmo responded and checked the residence. Everything was secure and no signs of suspicious activity.

08:09 - B&M Towing advised they were in the process of towing a vehicle when their wrecker was hit from behind on FM 448. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman and Deputy Webber responded to the accident. A crash report was taken.

09:02 - Deputy Haman and Deputy Eickenhorst were dispatched to CR 415 for an animal complaint. The complainant reported that the neighbors dumped a cow carcass on their property. Deputies will make contact with the owner of the cow.

09:57 - A caller reported a Toyota truck parked on the side of the road on CR 316 near CR 314. All windows were up on the vehicle except for the passenger window. Deputy J. Brown located the vehicle and advised it had a flat tire. The vehicle was safely off the roadway.

10:20 - A 911 caller advised that a male subject was asked to leave Wal-Mart but is refusing to do so. It was also advised that the subject was being very confrontational. The caller was transferred to Giddings PD.

12:33 - Dispatch received a call about three cows out on Hwy 77 near FM 3403. Chief Garza also received a call about the cows. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy J. Brown and Chief Garza responded and located the cows. They were removed and secured off the road.

12:40 - Deputy J. Brown was dispatched to FM 141 near CR 121 for loose cattle. The deputy checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

12:46 - A subject came into the Sheriff's Office requesting a civil standby at an address off Hwy 290. Deputy Haman and Deputy Eickenhorst assisted with the standby without incident.

15:53 - Sgt. Strouth advised he was out at South Lee County VFD because of an open overhead door. The deputy checked the area and made contact with the fire chief. Everything was okay and the door was closed and secured.

17:18 - A caller on South Rockdale Street in Lexington reported a goat was on her property and wanted it removed. Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with the caller. She stated that she would take care of the goat until the owner is found. Information was taken for a report.

17:24 - Sgt. Strouth was dispatched to CR 124 near FM 1697 for an abandoned vehicle. The caller advised that there was a white truck on the left side of the road in the area. Next rotation wrecker was requested, and Govan's took possession of the vehicle. Information was taken for a report.

17:26 - A property owner on CR 433 stated that he let someone move their trailer through his property and it caused damage. Deputy Haman and Deputy Eickenhorst met with the property owner and a report was taken.

18:28 - Cpl. West advised he was at the intersection of Hwy 290 and Hwy 77 with a disabled vehicle. Giddings PD was notified and had a unit make scene.

19:15 - Dispatch received a call about animal carcasses all over the roadway on FM 696 West about two miles from Lexington city limits. The caller advised that she had to drive into the ditch to avoid hitting the carcasses. Deputy J. Brown and Deputy Haman responded and requested the commissioner be notified. The carcasses were removed from the roadway.

19:17 - A 911 caller advised that his uncle was making threats towards him and had a knife. Cpl. West, Deputy J. Hilmo, and Deputy Haman responded to the disturbance on Well Street in Lexington. Contact was made with the uncle, and he advised there was an argument but there were no weapons involved. The caller was not at the residence upon arrival. Information was taken.

22:02 - Dispatch received a 911 call from a female subject who stated that her ex-boyfriend took the keys to her car and wouldn't let her leave. Cpl. West and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to the call at Tex-Villa Apartments, and also requested Giddings PD to respond. The ex-boyfriend left the scene prior to officers' arrival. Information was taken for a report.

 

March 10, 2023

03:21 - Deputy J. Hilmo advised that he was out with an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 290 W. The vehicle was secured and off the roadway.

08:07 - A motorist reported some bulls out on CR 217 near the Bullpen. Deputy Ellington checked the area but was unable to locate the bulls.

09:45 - Giddings PD advised they received a call about some loose cattle on Hwy 77 South near CR 220. Sgt. Jones checked the area to the Fayette County line but was unable to locate the cattle.

10:26 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at FM180. After a PC search, the driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail. B&M took possession of the vehicle. A report was taken.

11:28 - A caller reported she was involved in a two-vehicle accident across from Altman Plants on Hwy 290 West. Lt. Adams and Deputy Ellington responded, and a crash report was taken.

13:30 - Sgt. Jones advised he was out on CR 333 for a case follow up.

14:50 - Deputy Ellington assisted Giddings PD with a funeral escort.

15:20 - A motorist reported two horses running loose on FM 141 in Dime Box. Sgt. Jones responded and advised the owner removing the horses from the roadway.

15:55 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up from a residence on North Rockdale Street in Lexington. Dispatch tried making contact, but the phone kept going to voicemail. Chief Garza responded and advised everything was okay.

16:51 - Giddings PD transferred a call about a reckless driver on FM 180 just off of Hwy 290. Deputy Ellington drove FM 180 entirely but was unable to locate a reckless driver.

18:34 - A complainant on Well Street in Lexington stated that his juvenile son was standing outside when their neighbor drove by and yelled at him. The complainant requested to speak to a deputy about his options since this was the first time this happened. Sgt. Holloway made contact with the complainant and advised him of his options. No report at this time.

19:29 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up pinged at a business on East Austin Street. Dispatch was able to make contact and was advised it was an accident.

20:05 - Sgt. Holloway assisted Giddings PD with traffic control on East Austin Street.

23:10 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle sitting at the entrance of the Silos on CR 223. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and made contact with a male subject. The subject advised he was out of gas and was waiting for someone to bring him some. Everything was okay.

 

March 11, 2023

00:27 - Sgt. Holloway assisted Giddings PD with a traffic stop at the 100 block of Hwy 290 West.

01:00 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to Hwy 21 between CR 430 and CR 402 for a one vehicle rollover accident with a possible pin in. EMS, Dime Box VFD and Lexington VFD also responded to the accident. Lexington VFD was able to free the driver who was transported by EMS to a hospital in Bryan. Owen's took possession of the vehicle. A crash report was taken.

08:25 - Dispatch received a call about loose cattle on FM 141 near CR 119. Deputy Dickerson located and secured the cattle off the roadway.

08:55 - Sgt. Jones was dispatched to CR 305 to meet with a complainant about damage to her property. The complainant stated that someone ran through her fence and damaged her gate. Information was taken for a report.

09:22 - A motorist reported a calf out on FM 2440. Deputy Ellington checked FM 2440 to Hwy 21 but did not locate any loose livestock.

10:48 - Deputy Ellington checked out with stranded motorist on Hwy 21 near the TxDOT. Contact was made and everything was okay.

11:04 - A caller reported four aggressive dogs running loose in the 1300 block of CR A. The caller requested that a deputy talk to the owners about keeping their dogs contained and secured. Deputy Ellington responded and made contact with the owner of the property. They were advised of the situation.

12:07 - Dispatch received a call about a cow out on FM 619 near the Williamson County line. Sgt. Jones located the loose cow and secured it off the roadway.

12:18 - Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Ellington responded to a reckless driver on Hwy 21 East going westbound. The caller advised that a Dodge Charger was swerving all over the roadway. At the time of call, the vehicle was approaching Hwy 77. The caller followed the vehicle until it pulled off the road in Manheim. Deputy Ellington made contact with the driver who advised he was just trying to map out directions to San Marcos. The driver did admit to not having a driver's license and would be waiting for a licensed driver.

12:28 - A resident on CR 424 reported that three cows were out. One of the cows was in her yard and the other two were on the road close to the train tracks. Deputy Dickerson responded and removed the cattle off the roadway.

18:28 - A male subject came to the Sheriff's Office to turn himself in because his family told him that he had a warrant out for his arrest. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek, and Deputy E. Hilmo met with the subject in the lobby. After further investigation, the male subject was involved in a hit and run accident inside of Giddings city limits. Giddings PD took the subject to the hospital to be cleared for booking. The subject was later booked into the Lee County Jail.

20:17 - A motorist reported a black cow out on CR 133 near CR 116. Deputy Kocurek searched the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

20:36 - Deputy E. Hilmo advised that a train was stopped on FM 141 in Dime Box. Union Pacific was notified and stated they would call back for reasoning if the train was going to be stopped for a prolonged period.

21:13 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to a residence on CR 122 for a civil standby. The caller requested assistance with gathering her things. The caller was able to gather her belongings without incident.

22:29 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy E. Hilmo advised that they would be doing a walk through at the Silos on CR 223. Everything was okay.

23:09 - Dispatch received a 911 call from a residence on South Polk Street for a physical fight. The call was transferred to Giddings PD. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy E. Hilmo assisted with the call. A female subject was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail.

23:15 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to FM 696 West near Sherrill Lane for a one vehicle accident. The 911 caller advised she hit a group of hogs in the roadway. EMS and Blue VFD also responded to the accident. Tillary's took possession of the vehicle. A crash report was taken.

 

March 12, 2023

00:25 - A motorist called 911 to report an 18-wheeler driving recklessly on Hwy 290 heading eastbound near FM 2104 in Paige. The motorist stated the truck was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and almost swerved into the ditch. Bastrop County advised they received a call from a male subject reporting the same information. Due to all county units working a crash at the time of the call, the information was passed to Giddings PD.

00:49 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to a two-vehicle accident on FM 696 West near the Yegua. The first caller stated he heard an accident near his place of residence. The second caller was a driver involved in the head on collision. EMS and Blue VFD also responded to the accident. Govan's and B&M took possession of the vehicles. One person was transported to a hospital in Austin. A crash report was taken.

01:24 - Bastrop County advised that a GMC Yukon was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane on Hwy 290. All county units were in Lexington working an accident at the time of the call. Information was passed onto Giddings PD.

07:05 - Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Ellington met with a complainant at Bubba's Truck Stop in Dime Box in reference to a robbery. The complainant called 911 stating that a robbery had occurred, and he was having issues with his landlord. The deputies followed the complainant to his residence located on PR 8049. A perimeter check was conducted of the property per request. Everything was fine, and no offense had occurred.

07:11 - A motorist reported a Nissan vehicle swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 290 West going eastbound. At the time of call, the vehicle was passing CR 200. Deputy Dickerson located and stopped the vehicle on Industry Street in Giddings. Contact was made with the driver who advised she was on her way to Houston. No violations occurred.

07:29 - Sgt. Jones was dispatched to Hwy 290 East to assist a stranded motorist. The motorist advised she was on the side of the road with a flat tire. The deputy was able to change the tire.

09:35 - Dispatch received a call about a cow out on FM 696 near CR 309. Deputy Ellington checked the area but did not locate any loose livestock.

13:25 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a welfare check on a female subject he saw near the Dime Box ISD playground. Contact was made and she was fine.

13:35 - A caller reported two cows out on FM 2440 about 4 miles west of Giddings. Sgt. Jones and Deputy Ellington located and secured the cows off the roadway.

16:13 - Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Ellington responded to a call about a reckless driver on Hwy 21 West passing through Manheim. The caller stated the vehicle was swerving all over the roadway and took off at a high rate of speed. The deputies searched the area but could not locate the vehicle.

16:30 - A 911 caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 21 West. The vehicle was a semi-truck traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic. Deputy Dickerson located and stopped the vehicle at Bubba's Truck Stop. The driver was given a warning and released.

19:31 - Dispatch received a 911 call from an address on West Liberty Street for an argument between neighbors. Information was passed to Giddings PD.

22:35 - Deputy Kocurek was dispatched to FM 696 W near PR 7022 for two donkeys on the side of the road. The deputy located and secured the donkeys.
