February 20, 2023

09:35 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office wanting to speak with a deputy regarding his neighbor. He stated that a tree on the neighbor's property fell and damaged his hot wire fence. The neighbor replaced the damaged part of the fence with barbwire causing the rest of the hot wire fence to malfunction. The complainant wants the neighbor to fix it, but the neighbor is refusing. The complainant advised that they just went to civil court last week over property lines and cattle theft.  Deputy Dickerson met with the complainant and advised it was a civil matter.

10:38 - Giddings PD advised that there was a cow out on FM 141 near FM 1697. Deputy Dickerson responded and advised that the cow was not on the roadway. The fence is low and made it look like the cattle were out.

11:35 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to FM 3403 for a civil standby. The requestor wanted to pick up his keys from his mother's house. The mother stated she did not have the keys and would have to get them from Waco.

12:02 - ADT Security called to report a residential burglar alarm coming from an address on PR 7707. Sgt. Jones responded to the call and advised that all windows and doors were secured.

13:51 - Sgt. Jones tagged an abandoned vehicle on CR 309 parked at the fire station.

14:06 - Sgt. Jones tagged an abandoned vehicle on FM 696 at CR 337.

15:40 - A motorist reported a man wrapped up in a blanket lying in the bar ditch of Hwy 290 West. Deputy Dickerson and Sgt. Jones responded and made contact with the male subject. He advised he was okay and was resting on the side of the road while on his way to Houston.

16:49 - Dispatch received a call about a male subject standing in the middle of Gary Street in Lexington yelling at subjects up the street at a residence. At the time of the call, the male subject got into a GMC truck and was seen earlier driving recklessly up and down the street. The male subject was threatening to kill a subject at a residence on the same street, and then took off in the vehicle described. Deputy Dickerson and Sgt. Jones responded and attempted to locate the vehicle and subject but were unable to do so. Contact was made with the other subjects, and information was taken.

19:56 - A 911 caller reported a reckless driver failing to maintain a single lane of traffic heading northbound on Hwy 77 near Hwy 21 underpass. All units responded but were unable to locate the reckless driver.

21:05 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up pinged at residence on W. Liberty. Attempts were made to make contact but received no answer. Information was passed to Giddings PD who advised it was an accidental 911 dial.

21:49 - Deputy Ellington advised he was out with an 18-wheeler on FM 141 near CR 119 that was parked in the left bound lane. The driver advised he was just doing maintenance on 18-wheeler and got back on the roadway.

22:59 - A caller advised that she and her husband were having a verbal disturbance at a location on FM 2440. The caller stated that her husband was to stay at their residence on CR 456, and she was to stay at the other property in Bastrop County. She also stated that she was going to the residence in Lee County for personal reasons, and she told her husband via text message. She requested assistance because she was in fear of what her husband would do. Deputy Ellington and Deputy Kocurek responded and made contact with the caller. No report filed at this time.

23:19 - Dispatch received a call about a commercial burglar alarm on CR 234. Deputy Kocurek and Sgt. Holloway responded. Deputy Kocurek advised that there were no lights on in the building and the gate was secured.

23:34 - Deputy Dudley advised he was assisting Giddings PD with a suspicious person located at Brookshire Brothers. The male subject was identified as the same subject from a previous call in the day. Deputy Dudley gave the male subject a courtesy ride to the travel center in Paige.

 

February 21, 2023

05:55 - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from a residence on Ave E in Lexington. Sgt. Jones responded and made contact with the homeowner. The owner advised he dialed the number by accident.

08:48 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 3403 near CR 442. Deputy Dickerson checked the area but did not see any loose livestock.

08:32 - Deputy Jones was dispatched to Hwy 290 E for a cow out. Dispatch received multiple about the cow out on the westbound side. The cow was secured off the roadway.

12:26 - EMS advised of a bull out on CR 316. Sgt. Jones responded and was able to secure the cow in a nearby pasture.

12:52 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to Giddings PD to meet with a complainant. The complainant stated she was scared of a male subject and wanted to make a report. Information was taken, and a report was taken.

18:16 - A motorist reported a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy 290 and Hwy 77 by the First National Bank. The call was transferred to Giddings PD. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy Ellington assisted with traffic control.

20:06 - A caller advised of wooden debris on the roadway of Hwy 21 near the Yegua Creek. Deputy Ellington responded and cleared the roadway of the debris.

20:37 - Dispatch received a 911 call pinged at an address on N. Main Street in Giddings. Attempts were made to make contact but no answer. Information was passed on to Giddings PD.

21:54 - A 911 call pinged at a residence on Cactus Street came in. Dispatch attempted to make contact but got no answer. Information was passed on to Giddings PD.

22:17 - Information was passed on to Giddings PD when Dispatch received a 911 call pinged at an address on W. Independence Street. Attempts were made to make contact but no answer.

22:41 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy Ellington were dispatched to CR 404 for suspicious persons. The caller stated that there were two male subjects walking down the road shooting a gun and carrying backpacks. All units arrived on scene and identified one male subject as a resident on CR 404. Sgt. Holloway advised that the gun was a BB gun. The caller was advised of the situation.

 

February 22, 2023

07:34 - A motorist reported a large animal carcass on Hwy 77 near CR 114. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman responded and removed the carcass from the roadway.

10:55 - Sgt. Strouth was dispatched to CR 118 for loose livestock. The caller reported three longhorn cows out on the roadway. The cows were secured off the roadway.

11:15 - Deputy Haman was out with disabled vehicle on the entrance ramp to Hwy 21 off of Hwy 77. Contact was made with the driver who advised everything was fine.

11:48 - A caller advised of a goat or sheep running alongside FM near Hwy 21. Deputy Haman checked the area but was unable to locate the animal.

14:04 - Sgt. Strouth met with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office in reference to trespassing. The complainant stated that people were coming onto her property on CR 118. Information was taken from the complainant.

16:00 - A complainant called wanting to speak to a deputy about the theft of her dump trailer. She had previously spoken with Deputy Haman and was advised that it was a civil matter. Sgt. Strouth informed her again that it is a civil matter and to reach out to JP3.

17:53 - Cpl. West was dispatched to CR 404 in reference to a threat. A male subject called 911 requesting a deputy to meet with him about his neighbor threatening him with a knife. Cpl. West with both parties and a criminal trespass warning was issued. A report was also taken.

18:42 - A motorist reported a longhorn out on FM 1697 near the Nails Creek bridge. Deputy Haman checked the area but was unable to locate the longhorn.

18:49 - Sgt. Young responded to a disturbance call on CR 430. The complainant stated that her mother-in-law was in the front yard yelling, and tearing wires out of the house. She also advised that her mother-in-law tried to hit her with a car. Sgt. Young advised the parties of their rights, but it was a civil matter.

23:21 - A resident on CR 442 stated that her daughter recently left her husband, and he called saying he was going to come kill them. Sgt. Young and Cpl. West responded and met with the resident and her daughter. They advised the husband was not on the property nor did they know where he would be coming from. A report was taken, and a close patrol was set up for the residence.

 

February 23, 2023

06:28 - Deputy Haman did a close patrol of a residence on CR 442. No suspicious activity was found.

07:22 - A property owner on CR 109 wanted to speak with a deputy about her rights concerning cows on her property. The owner of the cows called the Sheriff's Office and stated that she was leasing the property for her cows, but the property owner told her she has until the end of the month to remove her cows. She advised she was going to come that day but received a text from the property owner stating she had to wait until this weekend when her husband would be home. Sgt. Strouth responded and spoke with both parties. An agreement was reached for deputies to do a civil standby later in the day so the cows could be removed from the property. At around 12:30PM, the civil standby was completed.

08:50 - Three Oaks Mine reported white sedan parked partially blocking the entrance to the gate on CR 304A. Deputy Haman responded and advised there was a note on the vehicle. The deputy attempted to contact the owner but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was red tagged and secured to not block the entrance.

09:26 - Deputy Haman checked out with an abandoned vehicle on CR 304. The deputy was able to make contact with owners. The vehicle was secured and off roadway.

09:40 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 133. Sgt. Strouth was able to locate the cow and remove it from the roadway.

11:20 - Deputy Haman came across an individual walking on Hwy 77 near FM 1624. Contact was made with the individual who advised everything was fine. He was checked on again and given a courtesy ride to Cefco in Lexington. He also advised he would be walking towards Milam County once he rested for a while.

11:27 - A resident on CR 404 requested a close patrol for her address. She stated doesn't feel safe because people are trying to cut her fence at night and threatening her family. A close patrol was placed on the residence.

11:48 - Sgt. Strouth was dispatched to PR 8049 to meet with a complainant for harassment. The complainant stated that his backdoor lock had been compromised, and he is being harassed by his neighbors. The complainant was advised to contact his landlord to fix the deadbolt due to it being a civil matter.

15:04 - A caller advised that he is missing about 52 head of cattle from his property on CR 127. He stated that he has been looking for them for 3 days. He also spoke with the neighbors who had no information on the cattle. Information was taken on the cows that are mostly black and have a brand on the left hip that with an X and a bar under it.

15:40 - Sgt. Strouth conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 21 near Walch Store. The driver came back wanted out of Travis County. The subject was arrested and booked into jail. An information report was taken.

16:19 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office wanting to speak to a deputy about her mom not giving her kids back to her. Deputy Haman met with the complainant on Shady Oaks Street. The complainant was advised it was a civil matter due to it being a custody issue.

16:55 - A caller requested assistance with catching a dog and her three puppies on FM 2239 about 2 miles from FM 2104. Deputy Haman drove the FM road all the way to the county line but was unable to locate the caller or dogs.

17:10 - Deputy Haman was dispatched to FM 1697 near CR 127 for cattle out. The motorist stated that about five to six cows were out on the roadway. The cattle were removed from the roadway, but the fence was severely damaged. The deputy advised she would try to push them further back into the field.

18:05 - Dispatch received a call about a reckless driver on Hwy 290 W near the county line. No unit in the area, and the call was transferred to Bastrop County.

23:32 - A motorist called from a gas station in Bastrop to report that he hit an animal in our county on Hwy 290 near PR 2907. The vehicle was still drivable. An event was created, and Sgt. Young advised to give the motorist the event number for insurance purposes.

 

February 24, 2023

06:01 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to a residence on CR 430 to speak with a complainant. The complainant stated that a female subject changed the locks on the house, and would not let her in. The female subject also called the Sheriff's Office and stated that someone was knocking on her door. She also advised that her gun was missing. Both parties were advised it was a civil matter.

09:23 - Bastrop County advised of a reckless driver on Hwy 290 W going eastbound. Deputy Dickerson responded but was unable to locate the vehicle.

09:58 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office requesting to speak with Capt. Mastronardi. He was advised by Cpl. West to follow up with Capt. Mastronardi about his case. Contact was made with the complainant.

12:59 - Capt. Allen spoke with a resident on PR 8049 in reference to his landlord not making repairs. The resident stated that the toilet is overflowing, and his landlord is refusing to repair it and other things. He wanted to be advised what he could do legally. Capt. Allen referred his to the code enforcement office.

13:04 - Trooper Pennartz and Trooper Ntabo came across a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 21 at 5th Street in Lincoln. The troopers advised the driver was out of the vehicle and refused EMS. Deputy Dickerson assisted with the accident.

13:43 - A motorist reported a gray sedan that kept pulling over on FM 448. The motorist stated that the driver would get out and walk up to the railroad tracks then get back in the car and go up a little further and do the same thing. Deputy Dickerson checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle or driver.

15:42 - Dispatch received a call about a cow on the side of the road trying to birth a calf. Capt. Allen, Sgt. Ray and Deputy Haman responded to the call on CR 122 near CR 121. They checked the area but could not locate a cow giving birth.

16:30 - Sgt. Ray was dispatched to Hwy 77 just North of Hwy 21 for a flock of sheep out. The deputy was able to secure them away from the roadway, but the fence was bad. Dispatch received more calls about the sheep, and a cowboy was notified to come pick them up.

20:10 - A caller report a Nissan car that looked to be broke down at the intersection of Hwy 290 and Hwy 77. Giddings PD was already aware and on scene.

20:30 - Deputy Ellington, Sgt. Holloway, Trooper Pennartz and Trooper Ntabo responded to a one vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy 77 and Hwy 21. The caller stated that the driver was complaining of leg pain. Trooper Pennartz advised that it wasn't an accident, and the driver had pulled over due to his injury. The driver had stated that he had gotten into a road rage incident and pulled over to confront the other driver. The driver forgot to put his vehicle in park, and the truck had hit his leg due to that. No report was taken.

20:52 - Dispatch received an automated 911 call pinged off of PR 5013 for a crash detection. Dispatch was able to make contact with the subject involved, and they stated it was an accidental call.

21:29 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek, Deputy Ellington, Trooper Pennartz and Trooper Ntabo were dispatched to CR 133 for a one vehicle accident. A father called the Sheriff's Office advising that his son had an accident after swerving to miss hitting a deer. A second caller advised that the vehicle looked to be on PR 5013. The father took possession of the vehicle, and an accident report was taken.

21:56 - Fayette County requested a deputy to give a female subject a courtesy ride to the county line. Fayette County dropped the subject off at Cefco. Deputy Kocurek picked up the subject and took her to Pilot in Paige.

22:39 - A motorist reported a donkey out on E GM 696 in front of the skydiving school. Deputy Ellington responded and was able to secure the animal off the roadway.

23:25 - Deputy Dudley advised that he was assisting Giddings PD with a call on Old Nails Creek Road. The caller advised Giddings PD that they heard an argument at unit #7. Deputy Ellington and Deputy Kocurek responded to the call as well. The female and male subjects stated they were just having a disagreement, and everything was okay.

 

February 25, 2023

00:54 - Dispatch received a 911 call from a residence on W. Brenham Street. The caller stated that her mom and stepdad were in a physical argument, and her mother appeared to be bleeding. Caller was transferred to Giddings PD. Deputy Dudley, Deputy Ellington, Deputy Kocurek and Sgt. Holloway assisted Giddings PD with the call. A male subject was arrested and booked into the county jail.

01:50 - ADT Security reported a residential burglary alarm on Hwy 77 North. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley and Deputy Ellington responded and checked the area. No suspicious activity or person was found.

05:59 - Deputy Dickerson and Deputy E. Hilmo assisted EMS and Lexington VFD with a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 77. One driver was given a courtesy ride to Cefco. A crash report was taken. 

 

09:35 - A 911 caller requested to be taken to the hospital due to an illness, and felt his life was in danger. He stated that his wrist was fractured; finger was hurting and didn't have his ADHD medications. Lee County EMS and Squad One were paged out to the residence on Post Oak Drive in Elgin. Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Dickerson also responded and made contact with the caller. The subject did not have any injuries but was transported to the ER in Taylor.          

 

11:54 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to report a dog and four puppies on the side of the road on FM 2239 that were causing a traffic hazard. She stated someone is going to hit the dogs. She also stated that there were people stopping and trying to pick them up that were almost hit by passing cars. Deputy E. Hilmo checked the area and located the dogs about a mile into Bastrop County. Bastrop County was notified and had a unit on the way to pick up the dogs.     

 

14:30 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to Tex Villa Apartments to meet with a resident. The resident stated that her packages were delivered to the wrong apartment. The person who received the packages told the resident that she had sat the packages on top of the mailboxes. The resident went to get the packages, but they were gone from the mailboxes. Deputy Dickerson met with the resident, and a statement was taken for a report.      

 

15:58 - A caller reported that a male subject was sleeping on the front porch of his business located on CR 205. Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and made contact with the subject. He was identified and removed from the property. Dispatch was notified the subject would be walking towards Bastrop County.

 

17:40 - Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to PR 8049 to meet with a complainant who wanted to make a theft report. The complainant stated that someone stole his keys and ID. Deputy E. Hilmo advised after speaking with the complainant, he seemed confused and paranoid. The complainant's ID was located, and his keys may have been misplaced. Information was taken for a report.

 

20:05 - Dispatch received a call about a noise complaint near the 3400 block of W FM 696. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Kocurek responded and used the decibel reader. Deputy Dudley made contact with the subjects with the loud music, and they were advised of the decibel reading. A written warning was issued.

 

20:10 - A motorist reported that his vehicle broke down on Hwy 290 W near CR 203. Deputy Ellington responded to the call and requested the next rotation. The deputy waited until Tillary's took possession of the vehicle. No report was taken.

 

21:11 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy Ellington responded to a one vehicle rollover on Hwy 290 near PR 2909 along with EMS and Giddings VFD. No injuries were reported. Govan's took possession of the vehicle. Deputy Kocurek gave the driver a courtesy ride to the Travel Plaza. A crash report was taken, and a citation was issued.

 

21:24 - Deputy Dudley performed a close patrol on CR 309. No signs of suspicious activity.

 

21:47 - A complainant called from his residence on CR 316 to report a noise complaint coming from W FM 696. Deputy Dudley responded and advised it was the same residence from previous call. No violation occurred due to the decibel reading not being high enough.

 

 

February 26, 2023

 

00:09 - A business security check was performed at the Bull Pen on CR 217. Deputy Kocurek advised there were no signs of suspicious activity.

 

01:38 - Deputy Ellington advised he was out with a disabled vehicle about a mile north of Hwy 21 on Hwy77. The occupants were given a courtesy ride to the Budget Inn in Giddings. The vehicle was secured off the roadway.

 

02:54 - Deputy Dudley advised that he was out with an 18-wheeler on Hwy 77 near CR 410. Next big wrecker rotation was requested. Deputy Ellington and Sgt. Holloway assisted with traffic control while Deputy Dudley assisted BDS. The 18-wheeler was taken to Cefco in Lexington.

07:11 - Washington County advised that a stolen Ford F250 passed through their license plate reader. The truck was stolen out of Harris County. It was last seen heading westbound on Hwy 290. Giddings PD located and stopped the vehicle at the 290 Travel Plaza. Sgt. Jones, Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Dickerson assisted Giddings PD with the traffic stop.

10:49 - Sgt. Jones checked out with a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Tanglewood Fire Station. It is unoccupied and unsecured.

11:24 - A motorist reported a cow out on FM 1624 north of CR 323. Deputy E. Hilmo responded and checked the area but was unable to locate the cow.

11:28 - A caller advised of three head of cattle out on CR 118. Deputy Dickerson responded and checked the area but did not see any loose livestock on the roadway.

11:48 - Deputy E. Hilmo was dispatched to CR 430 near CR 117 for a horse out. The deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the horse.

12:52 - Dispatch received an anonymous call about people fighting at Tex Villa Apartments. The parties involved were two male subjects and one female subject. One of the male subjects was seen hitting the female subject. Unknown if any weapons were involved. Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and located the parties involved. They advised it was verbal only and there was no physical altercation. No report was taken.

13:14 - Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to a one vehicle accident on Hwy 21 west of CR 327 at the bridge. EMS and Lincoln VFD were paged out to the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital in Bryan. B&M took possession of the vehicle. A crash report was taken.

13:25 - A resident on FM 141 called to report that his vehicle was on fire. Deputy Dickerson, Deputy E. Hilmo and Dime Box VFD were dispatched to the scene. The fire department was able to put the fire out prior to the deputies' arrival.

15:29 - A complainant Ave G advised that his having the same issues with the same dogs coming onto his property. He advised that the dogs came from a residence on Ave F. Deputy E. Hilmo and Deputy Dickerson responded and met with the complaint. He was advised to follow up with Lexington PD. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the owner of dogs and was advised to keep her dogs contained.

16:25 - Washington County called to report that at 16:12 their license plate reader hit on a stolen vehicle out of Houston. The Chevrolet truck was westbound on Hwy 290. At 16:51, Sgt. Jones located and stopped the vehicle on Hwy 290 just east of Giddings. The driver of the vehicle was the owner who advised he just got his truck back about an hour prior.

17:11 - Dispatch received a call about two missing Old English Bulldogs. The owner advised that they are both brindles, but one is a male and one is a female. She wanted it documented that if anyone calls about some loose dogs in the area of CR 407 and FM 696 matching the descriptions, to have them call her.

18:33 - Bastrop County transferred a 911 call from an address on Meadow Run Drive. Dispatch received another 911 call from this address, and the caller stated her phone was acting up and she did not have an emergency.

19:02 - A caller advised of a male subject wearing a grey hoodie and jeans attempting to hitch hike near the 4200 block of Hwy 290 W. Deputy Kocurek checked the area but was unable to locate the subject.

22:17 - Deputy Kocurek was dispatched to Hwy 21 near Bubba's Truck Stock for two male subjects walking down the side of the road. The deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the subjects.

23:06 - Deputy Dudley conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 near CR 202. Deputy Ellington arrived on scene and requested for the next rotation to be paged out. Deputy Dudley arrested and booked one male subject into the Lee County Jail. Deputy Ellington stayed on scene until Owen's took possession of the vehicle.
