January 23, 2023

01:26 - Cpl. West and Deputy Rodriguez located an abandoned unoccupied vehicle on FM 488.  The vehicle was found to be off the roadway and secured. 

03:15 - Cpl. West and Deputy Rodriguez located an abandoned unoccupied vehicle on SH 21 near CR 114.  The vehicle was found to be off the roadway and secured.

04:10 - A caller reported a shed on fire at a residence off US 290 West. All deputies on duty and Giddings VFD responded.  The fire was put out. 

10:37 - A missing person was reported to the Sheriff's Office from a location off CR 430.  Sgt. Ray responded. Several hours later, the missing person returned.

12:38 -A report was made on an unwanted subject at a residence off CR 430.  Sgt. Ray responded and a criminal trespass warning was issued.

13:20 - A call was received with the complainant requesting to speak with a deputy to report a theft from property located on CR 235.  Capt. Mastronardi spoke with the caller and a theft report was taken.  The investigation is on-going.

13:27 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on FM 696 West. Sgt. Jones responded and made contact with the driver of the vehicle and the parties involved.

14:10 - A caller requested to speak with a deputy via phone regarding the issuance of a protective order.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo attempted several times to return the telephone call.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo were not able to make contact with the complainant.

15:36 - A subject was at the Lee County Sheriff's Office to register as a sex offender living in Lee County.  Sgt. Holloway met with subject and took information to update the sex offender registry.

17:46 - A caller reported cattle out on FM 141.  Sgt. Holloway responded and searched for loose cattle.  No cattle were located.

18:08 - A caller requested a welfare check on a female walking along FM 180 near FM 1697.  Deputy Dudley responded and checked the area for the female.  The female was not located.

18:08 - A caller requested a close patrol of the property on FM 696 West. The information was taken and given to the deputies for a close patrol.

18:59 - A 911 call was received reporting a minor crash involving a Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer that struck the mirror on another vehicle and left the scene.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded to the scene at which time it was determined the complainant had an active warrant out of Washington County.  The complainant was arrested and released to a Washington County Deputy.  A report was taken on the damage to the vehicle mirror by the Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer.   

20:04 - A caller reported a welfare check on a subject walking on FM 141 towards Dime Box. Deputy Dudley responded and searched the area.  The subject was not located.  

22:03 - A caller reported a stranded motorist blocking the roadway on CR 134 near CR 114.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded and made contact with the driver.  The driver was advised to move off the roadway while waiting for the vehicle to cool down. 

 

January 24, 2023

08:16 - A caller reporting loose dogs causing damage to a property on Clark Lane. Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Turner responded and met with complainant.  The deputies attempted to make contact with the owner of the dogs.  The owner of the dogs was not at home.

10:05 - A caller reported an unwanted subject at a residence on FM 141.  Sgt. Jones, Deputy J. Hilmo, and Deputy Turner responded.  The unwanted subject was allowed to retrieve some property and left the residence without incident.

10:16 - Sgt. Jones located cattle out on FM 3403.  Sgt. Jones secured cattle away from the roadway.  

13:54 - A caller reported possible cruelty to an animal on US 77 South.  Deputy J. Hilmo and Deputy Turner responded and made contact with the owner of the dog.  The owner of the dog was given information on animal cruelty laws.

18:15 - A caller reported cattle out on FM 3403 near SH 21.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Kocurek responded and searched for the cattle.  No cattle were located. 

19:13 - A caller requested a welfare check on two subjects walking along FM 141.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, and Deputy Kocurek responded and checked the area.  No subjects were located walking along FM 141. 

20:45 - A stranded motorist was reported on SH 21 blocking traffic.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, and Deputy Kocurek responded and assisted the motorist in moving out of the roadway.  

20:21 - A caller requested to speak with a deputy regarding updating a sex offender registry.  Sgt. Holloway made contact with the subject via telephone. 

 

January 25, 2023

00:49 - Several 911 calls were received requesting a welfare check on a female walking on FM 696 near CR 305.   The female was last reported to have been given a ride and was driven to a gas station on FM 696 and US 290 in Bastrop County.

03:19 - A report was received of a missing student from the Riverview Christian Academy matching the description of the female who was given a ride by a passerby to a gas station on FM 696 and US 290.  Deputy Dudley made contact with Elgin Police Department.  The missing student was located in the city limits of Elgin and returned to the Riverview Christian Academy.

08:06 - Multiple calls were received reporting cattle out on FM 3403 near SH 21.  Deputy J. Brown responded.  The cattle were secured away from the roadway.

09:40 - A caller reported possibly receiving a fraudulent mail scam.  Sgt. Strouth made contact with the complainant via phone.  The complainant will be coming by the Lee County Sheriff's office at a later time to make a report. 

11:35 - A caller reported a stop sign was vandalized at CR 102 and CR 103.  The Precinct #2 Commissioner was notified.

12:25 - Sgt. Strouth, Sgt. Ray and Deputy J. Hilmo assisted Giddings PD with a disorderly conduct complaint at Burger King in Giddings.

13:05 - A caller reported an unsafe oversized load travelling northbound on US 77 between Giddings and Lexington.  Deputy J. Brown checked US 77 and was unable to locate the oversize load. 

13:35 - A caller reported debris blocking the roadway on FM 141.  Deputy J. Brown, Deputy J. Hilmo and Sgt. Strouth responded.  TxDOT was notified and removed the bale of hay.

15:30 - Sgt. Ray located cattle out on FM 3403.  Sgt. Ray secured the cattle off the roadway.

15:37 - Sgt. Strouth completed warrant service on North Main Street.  The wanted subject was arrested, transported, and booked into the Lee County Jail on two active warrants. 

16:30 - A complainant came to the Lee County Sheriff's Office to report possible a mail scam.  Deputy J. Brown met with the complainant and made a report.  The investigation is on-going.

18:05 - A caller reported a missing subject from a residence near CR 329, Cpl. West and Deputy Crenshaw responded and located the missing subject on US 77.  The subject was returned to the residence.

19:42 - A caller reported possible damage to rental property on FM 696.  Cpl. West, Deputy Crenshaw, and Sgt. Young responded and made contact with the evicted renters.  No damage was observed.  All parties involved were given information on their rights.

21:27 - A security company reported a burglar alarm at a location on CR 234.  All Lee County Deputies on duty responded.  The building was checked and found secure with no forced entry or open doors.  While checking the area, a vehicle was found near the location of the alarm and contact was made with its occupant.  The occupant of the vehicle was arrest for possession of an illegal firearm.  The subject was transported and booked into the Lee County Jail.  The vehicle was towed. 

 

January 26, 2023

04:20 - Cpl. West and Deputy Crenshaw checked an abandoned vehicle on CR 217.  The vehicle was found to be secure, unoccupied and off the roadway. 

07:23 - A 911 call was received reporting a one vehicle crash on US 290 near CR 226.  Deputy J. Brown assisted Giddings PD with traffic control and gave a courtesy ride to the driver.

07:48 - A caller reported dogs had killed livestock on CR 430.  Deputy Haman responded and took report. The investigation is on-going.

08:34 - A call was received of a two-vehicle traffic crash on SH 21 near CR 114.  All Lee County Deputies, Lexington VFD, and EMS responded.  A crash report was taken.  One vehicle was towed.

08:45 - A caller reported cattle out on FM 1624.  Deputy Webber and Deputy J. Hilmo responded and searched area.  No cattle were located.

09:30 - A call was received requesting a welfare check on a motorist on CR 110.  Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with the driver.  The driver was asleep in the vehicle.  

12:25 - A 911 call was received reporting a two-vehicle traffic crash on US 290 in Giddings. Deputy Webber assisted Giddings PD with traffic control.

12:41 - Lieutenant Adams and Deputy Haman conducted checked out at a location off CR 426 in Dime Box for a follow-up to an investigation. 

14:30 - A stranded motorist called requesting a deputy assist with a flat tire on SH 21 near US 77.  Deputy J. Brown responded and assisted in changing the tire. 

14:40 - A caller reported a theft at a business on CR 315.  Sgt. Ray responded and took a theft report.  The Investigation is on-going.

16:00 - A caller reported a disturbance on FM 696 West.  Sgt. Strouth and Deputy E. Hilmo responded.  The parties were separated, and each informed the situation was a civil matter.  

17:01 - A caller reported a reckless driver eastbound on US 290.  The vehicle was located in the City of Giddings.  Deputy J. Brown assisted Giddings PD with the traffic stop.

18:11 - A caller requested a welfare check on a subject at a residence on US 77 North.  Sgt. Young and Deputy Rodriguez responded.  The deputies checked the residence and were unable to locate the subject.  The complainant called back advising contact was made with the subject, who was travelling out of town.

18:49 - A caller reported being assaulted at a residence on CR 106.  The complainant stated the suspect was leaving the scene and the victim would travel to the Lee County Sheriff's Office in the morning to file a report.  Cpl. West and Deputy Crenshaw responded to the residence on CR 106 and were unable to locate anyone at the residence. 

19:00 - A caller requested to speak with a deputy regarding the issuance of a protective order. Deputy Haman spoke with the caller via phone and answered all protective order questions.

20:27 - A caller reported a one vehicle traffic crash where a hog was struck on US 77 North in front of the Tanglewood Baptist Church.  Sgt. Young and Deputy Rodriguez responded.  One vehicle was towed.  The hog was moved out of the roadway.

21:41 - A caller reported a disturbance on FM 696 West.  Sgt. Young and Deputy Rodriguez responded.  The subjects involved in the disturbance were gone upon the deputies arrival.  

 

January 27, 2023

07:48 - A call was received of cattle out on CR 124 near the Lee/Burleson County Line. Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo responded.  The cattle were secured in a fenced area on CR 124 and removed off the roadway.

10:29 - A caller reported a bull out on FM 3403 near CR 446.  Deputy Turner responded. The bull jumped the fence into a pasture on FM 3403.

12:16 - A call was received reporting cattle out on CR 118. Capt. Allen responded.  The cattle were secured in a fenced area on CR 118 and removed from the roadway.

13:53 - Multiple calls were received reporting loud explosions throughout Lee County. Military training was being conducted at Camp Swift throughout the day.

13:56 - A welfare check was requested on a subject on FM 696 West.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo checked the residence and were unable to locate the subject.  The subject was later reported as being in Bastrop.  The information on the welfare check was given to the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office.

15:32 - A call was received from a complainant who requested a welfare check for a subject at a residence off CR 101.  Deputy Dickerson spoke with the occupant of the residence.   The complainant was called back and advised the matter was civil and a custody issue.

15:38 - A caller requested to speak with a deputy about getting a vehicle returned from a shop located on CR 114.  Deputy Dickerson spoke with the caller and advised the caller it was a civil matter.

16:54 - A complainant came to the Lee County Sheriff's Office to speak with a deputy regarding an Emergency Protective Order.  Sgt. Ray met with the complainant and provided the information regarding the Emergency Protective Order.  

18:10 - A 911 call was received reporting a residential fire on CR 118.  All Lee County Deputies, Giddings and South Lee VFD, Bluebonnet Electric, and EMS responded.  The fire was put out.

18:40 - A caller reported an unwanted subject at a residence on FM 696 West.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek, and Deputy Dudley responded.  The unwanted subject left the residence prior to the Deputies arrival.  The caller will call back if the subject returns to the residence. 

19:41 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Kocurek checked a residence off CR 329 pursuant to the Sex Offender Registry. 

21:52 - While on patrol, Deputy Dudley assisted Giddings PD with a traffic stop on US 290.   

22:32 - A 911 call was received of an unwanted subject causing a disturbance at a residence on Hale Street in Lexington. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek, and Deputy Dudley responded.  EMS was requested and transported the unwanted subject to a local hospital.  

23:30 - Deputy Dudley checked out with a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Office. Everything checked out okay. 

 

January 28, 2023

07:52 - A call was received of a calf out near the railroad tracks off CR 426. Deputy Turner responded and was unable to locate any loose livestock.

12:04 - A call was received from Union Pacific Railroad of a black cow out on CR 426 near the railroad tracks. Deputy Hilmo and Sgt. Jones responded and secured the loose livestock in a pasture on CR 424.

13:16 - A call was received of a suspicious vehicle on CR 304A near the Three Oaks Mine. The company guard also contacted Game Warden Moreno and reported possible illegal hunting at the Three Oaks Mine property.  Sgt. Jones, Deputy E. Hilmo, Deputy Turner, and Game Warden Moreno responded.  Three subjects were located, arrested, and transported to the Lee County Jail. 

13:32 - A call was received of an unwanted person at a residence on US 290 East. All Lee County SO units were on the call at Three Oaks Mine. Giddings PD responded and issued a criminal trespass warning to the unwanted subject.

16:38 - A caller reported damage to property on Dickson Street in Lexington when a trailer was being moved.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and met with both parties. The property damaged belongs to the City of Lexington and a report will be made with City of Lexington personnel.    

18:21 - A caller requested to retrieve property on CR 326.  Deputy Dudley made contact with the caller.

23:25 - While on patrol, Deputy Dudley located a suspicious vehicle parked at the Lexington Park off US 77.  Deputy Dudley made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and they were advised of Park curfew. 

 

January 29, 2023

00:34 - A caller reported two subjects stranded at a business on CR 217.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek, and Deputy Dudley responded.  Both subjects were given courtesy ride to a hotel in Giddings.  

02:06 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle possibly stuck in a ditch on CR 318.  Deputy Dudley and Deputy Kocurek responded.  No vehicle was located. 

02:31 - Sgt. Holloway completed an inmate pickup and transport from the hospital in LaGrange back to the Lee County Jail.

02:32 - A 911 call was received with the caller advising noises were being heard outside the residence on CR 432 and requested deputies check for suspicious activity.  Deputy Dudley and Deputy Kocurek checked around the residence and made contact with the caller.  No suspicious activity was found. 

03:59 -- Sgt. Holloway located a suspicious vehicle on US 77 South.  The driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail for DWI.  Deputy Dudley and Deputy Kocurek assisted.

09:18 - Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo assisted a stranded motorist at Bubba's Truck Stop.  The vehicle was repaired and able to get back on the roadway.

09:30 - A 911 call was received reporting a two-vehicle fatal crash on SH 21 east blocking both westbound lanes.  Sgt. Jones, Deputy E. Hilmo, Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Turner, DPS, Lincoln VFD, Giddings VFD, and EMS responded.  Two subjects were transported by EMS to the hospital. 

12:52 - An inmate was transported to the hospital for medical issues. 

14:49 - A call from Bastrop County was received advising their deputies were meeting with a complainant in Bastrop County who was reporting an assault.  Bastrop County requested a Lee County Deputy locate a possible suspect at a residence on FM 696 West in Lee County.  Sgt. Jones and Deputy E. Hilmo made contact with a subject at the residence on FM 696.  The suspect in the assault was not located.  It was found the assault occurred in Bastrop County.  The investigation is on-going.

15:22 - A caller reported cattle on the roadway on SH 21 near FM 3403.  Sgt. Jones responded and searched the area for the cattle.  No cattle were located.

16:54 - A caller reported a reckless driver on SH 21 near FM 3403.  Deputy Dickerson responded and checked the roadway.  The reckless driver was not located.  

17:03 - A caller reported cattle out on SH 21 near FM 3403.  Sgt. Jones responded and searched the area for the loose cattle.  No cattle were located.

18:33 - A caller reported cattle out on CR 430 near SH 21.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Kocurek responded and searched the area for loose cattle.  No cattle were located.  

19:40 - A caller reported a stranded motorist on US 77 near CR 405.  Deputy Dudley responded and moved the vehicle out of the roadway.  The driver's friend was enroute to bring gasoline.  

22:02 - A caller requested a welfare check on a subject on FM 141.  Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.  The deputies were not able to locate the subject.  The requesting caller was notified the subject was not located at the location on FM 141.

22:19 - Giddings PD contacted the Sheriff's Office requesting a welfare check at a residence on US 290 West.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek, and Deputy Dudley responded and made contact with the subject.  All was okay.
