December 19 - December 25, 2022

 

December 19, 2022

06:20 - Sgt. Ray responded to a call about an unattended vehicle that was blocking a driveway. The vehicle is off the roadway and not blocking any driveway.

06:35 - A call was received of a truck which had lost part of its load and struck the complainant's vehicle on US 77. A 2nd vehicle was reported to have struck additional items which had fallen from the vehicle. Sgt. Ray responded. Chief Garza will have city clean up debris when rain stops.

07:32 - An alarm company reported an alarm off CR 226. Capt. Mastronardi responded and the building was found secure.

08:17 - Dispatch received a 911 call about a vehicle that went through a fence on SH 21 near CR 458. DPS Troopers, Sgt. Strouth, Lee County EMS, and Dime Box VFD responded.

08:51 - Sgt. Ray, Const. Stephens and Lexington Chief Garza responded to an accident on US 77 near Tanglewood. Tanglewood VFD, Lee County EMS Squad 1, and Lee County EMS also responded. Sgt. Ray investigated the crash.  

10:21 - A 911 call was received about a male subject in a Dodge pickup going through the complainant's mailbox. Sgt. Young, Deputy E. Hilmo, and Sgt. Ray responded. The vehicle was unable to be located.

12:45 - Sgt. Young and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to two cattle out on CR 430 bear SH 21. The animals were removed from the roadway.

13:55 -- A 911 hang up call was received from a location on Giddings Street in Lexington. No response on the line upon return call. Chief Garza responded.

14:35 - Deputy E. Hilmo checked out with an abandoned vehicle on US 77 north of SH 21. The vehicle was safely off the roadway with its flashers activated. No occupants were found around the vehicle.  

15:22 - Deputy E. Hilmo attempted civil process on Dallas Street in Giddings. No contact was made.

17:44 - A call was received of an 18 wheeler blocking US 290 near FM 180. Deputy Haman and Trooper McCoy responded. No crash report as vehicle was not damaged, but stuck in the ditch with the trailer blocking US 290.

17:51 - Sgt. Strouth, Deputy J. Hilmo, Deputy J. Brown responded to a 911 call about a possible theft on FM 1624. The matter was found to be civil in nature.

20:00 - A call was received requesting a deputy meet an individual off CR 330 regarding shelter for animals. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Hilmo met with the individual.

20:24 - Deputy J. Brown responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch off FM 696. No crash occurred. A wrecker was called to pull the vehicle out of the ditch.

20:25 - A call was received of a traffic crash off FM 3403. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy J. Hilmo and Trooper McCoy responded.

21:41 - Deputy Haman checked on a subject walking on US 290 East. The subject was given a courtesy ride to a gas station in Giddings.

22:57 - A motorist reported that a traffic accident occurred when the driver of the vehicle swerved to miss an animal. The vehicle had run off roadway with no damage. Deputy Haman responded. The driver was picked up by his father.

23:46 - Deputy Haman checked out with a disabled vehicle on US 290 and US 77.  

23:59 - A call was received of a motorist needing assistance on SH 21 near FM 1624. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy J. Hilmo, and Deputy Haman responded. The motorist was able to get the vehicle back on the roadway with assistance.

 

December 20, 2022

03:52 - Sgt. Strouth, Deputy J. Hilmo, and Deputy Haman responded to a residence on Avenue G regarding an intoxicated individual. One male was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

04:36 - A call was received of a subject walking on US 290 near the county line flashing a light at vehicles as they drove past. Deputy Haman responded and was unable to locate.

06:58 - Sgt. Young responded to a report about a calf in the roadway on CR 113 near FM 2440.  The area was checked but no calf was located.

11:00 - Civil papers served on E. Austin Street by Sgt. Young.

14:25 - Cpl. West and Deputy E.Hilmo conducted a follow-up investigation on CR 430.

15:35 - Cpl. West and Deputy E.Hilmo responded to possible trespassing at an abandoned house on CR 133.  Contact was made with the owners of the property, who verified all was okay.

16:27 - A 911 call was received of a 2 vehicle crash on US 77 South near the American Legion Hall.  All Deputies on duty, Fire Dept, and EMS responded. 

21:32 - Sgt. Strouth, Deputy J.Hilmo, and Deputy Haman responded to a residence on CR 226 for a welfare concern. Contact was made with the subject who was transported by EMS to hospital.  

 

December 21, 2022

07:06 -Debris was reported on SH 21 near CR 400. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded and were unable to locate debris.

07:16 - A bull was reported in the roadway near FM 2239 and CR 205. Deputy Dudley advised bull returned to pasture.

08:11 - Giddings PD reported a possible disturbance at a residence off US 290. All deputies on duty responded.  A report was taken.

09:31 -. Deputy Webber responded to a call was about cattle in the roadway on FM 1624 in Lexington. The cattle were removed from the roadway and secured in a pasture.  The owner was contacted to repair the fence.

09:45 - A call was received of a vehicle having gone through a fence on CR 407 with no injuries. Deputy Dudley responded and took the crash report.

10:17 - Bastrop PD transferred a 911 call reporting a 2 vehicle crash near CR 307 and County Line Road. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Rodriguez, and Blue VFD responded.  Crash report taken.

10:45 - Deputy Dudley, Deputy Webber, and Lexington PD responded to a 911 call about a possible runaway in Lexington.  The missing person was located.  

13:25 - A call was received reporting an unresponsive subject off CR 432. Deputy Holloway, Deputy Rodriguez, Lt. Adams, and EMS responded.  Subject was found deceased in vehicle upon arrival.  JP Danita Smith was requested to the scene.

14:35 - Dispatch received call about an accidental shooting on FM 141 with a pellet gun.  Lt. Adams, Deputy Dudley, and EMS responded. 

15:48 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded to cattle reported out on CR 200 near US 290. The cattle were removed from the roadway and secured in a pasture.

17:05 - A complainant reported subjects riding dirt bikes on CR 414 causing damage to the roadway. Deputy Dudley met with complainant to take report.

18:06 - A call was received reporting a subject riding on the roof of a vehicle on CR 311.  Sgt. Jones made contact with owner of vehicle and all was okay.

 

December 22, 2022

00:29 - A male subject was arrested by Sgt. Jones during traffic stop for POCS, assisted by Deputy Turner.  Vehicle towed.

00:53 - Washington County transferred a 911 call of a female subject requesting EMS.  Deputy Dickerson and EMS responded.  One female on scene was arrested on Lee County Warrants.  Original caller refused EMS.

08:21- Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded to a report of an aggressive dog at a residence on CR 337.  The dog was not aggressive upon arrival.

09:05 - Cattle were reported in the roadway on CR 430.  Deputy Webber and Reserve Deputy Stem responded and secured cattle in a pasture.

09:20- Deputy Webber, Reserve Deputy Stem, and Sgt. Ray responded to a call about a reckless driver on US 77 near FM 1624. The deputies checked US 77 but were unable to locate the vehicle.

09:33 - Sgt. Ray assisted Giddings PD with traffic control on US 290.

11:57- A call was received of cattle on US 77 north of CR 114.  Lt. Adams responded and was unable to locate any cattle.

13:02- Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Rodriguez responded to a welfare check on dogs left outside without food or water on CR 452..  The dogs were located and contact was made with the owner.

17:25 - A two vehicle crash was reported on US 290. Deputy Webber, Deputy Turner, and Trooper Galvan responded. 

18:23 - Sgt. Jones checked on a vehicle left on the side of the roadway at US 77 and CR 305.  The vehicle was secure and off of the roadway.

19:20 - A crash was reported by automated system near Dime Box. Deputy Dickerson, Dime Box VFD, and EMS responded.  No crash or vehicle was found at the reported coordinates.  

21:19 - Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Turner responded to a stranded motorist. The vehicle was moved off the roadway.  Five subjects were transported to a residence in Lexington. 

23:12 - A call was received of criminal mischief with property damage. Sgt. Jones responded but was unable to make contact with the property owner. A message was left for the property owner to contact the Lee County Sheriff's Office to make a report.  

23:53 - Additional calls to check on a vehicle left on the side of the roadway at US 77 and CR 305.  Sgt. Jones previously responded at 18:23 hrs.

 

December 23, 2022

00:52 - A one vehicle crash was reported by Giddings PD off CR 107. Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Turner, Lincoln VFD, Lee County EMS responded.  Message was left for property owner regarding property damage. 

09:19 - Cpl. West completed a welfare check on subject at FM 141.  Subject located and all was okay.

10:50 - Sgt. Young and Deputy E.Hilmo responded to a report of property damage to a fence on CR 107. A report was taken.

11:15 - A horse was reported in the roadway on FM 448.  Reserve Deputy Stem responded but was unable to locate the horse.

11:36 - Deputy E. Hilmo checked a residence off SH 21.  House was secured.

13:03 - A call was received of a disturbance on Kay Street.  Sgt. Young, Cpl. West, and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and the subjects were separated. 

18:08 - Deputy J. Brown and Giddings VFD responded to a vehicle fire on N. Main Street in Giddings.

19:44 - Deputy J. Brown and Deputy Haman responded to a residence on E. Austin St. for a subject receiving threats.  Lee County Sheriff's Office will conduct close patrols of the residence.  

 

December 24, 2022

01:14 - A call was received of a disturbance at the Travel Plaza.  All deputies on duty responded to assist Giddings PD.  A male subject was identified and arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Lee County Jail. 

01:38 - A welfare check was requested for a female at the American Legion Hall in Giddings.  Deputy Haman responded but was unable to locate the female.  

02:29 - Bastrop PD requested a check of a residence to locate a reported stolen vehicle.  All Deputies on duty responded and checked the area but they were unable to locate stolen vehicle or the suspected driver. 

10:10 - Reserve Deputy Terpstra checked on a stranded vehicle on US 77 near Tanglewood. The vehicle was found to have been involved in a crash. DPS responded and completed a crash report.  

13:11 - A call was received of a traffic crash on FM 2239 near CR 212. Cpl. West, Deputy J. Hilmo, and DPS responded.

13:17 - Sgt. Young responded to a report of an assault on CR 308.  Suspect was no longer on scene up the deputy's arrival.  A report was taken.

14:32 - A call was received of a large hay bale blocking roadway on FM 112 outside of Lexington.  TXDOT was notified to remove hay bale from roadway.

17:12 - Deputy Haman spoke with a complainant in reference to a road rage incident. A report was taken.  

19:45- Sgt. Strouth initiated a pursuit on US 77 traveling southbound but lost sight of suspect vehicle near Giddings.  Fayette County was contacted and given fleeing vehicle description.  

19:52 - A horse was reported out on North County Line Road.  Deputy J.Brown responded but did not locate a horse in the area.

20:27 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J.Hilmo responded to a report of several horses out on CR 118.  No horses were located on the roadway.

21:02 - Dispatch received a call about an assault that occurred near CR 133.  All deputies on duty responded.  The suspects were no longer on scene but were identified.  The investigation is on-going.   

23:43 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J.Hilmo completed welfare check for subject on FM 141.  All was okay.

 

December 25, 2022

00:14 - Deputy J. Brown and Deputy Haman responded to a disturbance on W. Brenham St.  Subjects were separated and left the area. 

00:21- Sgt. Strouth checked out with a male subject walking down FM 141. Everything checked out okay.

00:34 - Sgt. Strouth conducted a traffic stop on SH 21 at CR 401.  The driver was arrested for a felony warrant out of Ellis County.  The subject was transported to the Lee County Jail.  Vehicle was towed. 

04:34 - A call was received of a disturbance off CR 123. All deputies responded. No offense was committed and parties were separated.

09:51 - Sgt. Young conducted a follow-up to an investigation off CR 308.

15:00 - A call was received of a disabled motorist on US 290. Sgt. Young responded and gave the occupants a ride to the Sheriff's Office to wait for a ride. The vehicle was towed.

17:40 - Deputy J. Brown located loose livestock on CR 114 near CR 134. The livestock was removed from the roadway.

18:10 - Bastrop County reported a reckless driver on US 290 traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was unable to be located.

21:00 - Deputy J. Brown conducted a follow-up investigation on US 290.

21:14 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Hilmo conducted a traffic stop on FM 141 and arrested the driver for reckless driving.
