November 28, 2022

0640 - Bastrop County called and advised they are currently working a hit and run fatality in the McDade area. They are looking for a white box truck semi. It left the scene heading eastbound on Hwy 290. They advised to have units look out for any white semi box truck disabled on the side of the road. Deputies Dudley and Turner checked the area of Hwy 290 west to the county line and did not see any disabled vehicles.

0730 - A motorist called to report a large black bull out on the side of the road on Hwy 77 south of Lexington. Deputy Turner checked the area and did not see any loose livestock.

1157 - A caller advised of a calf out on FM 141 near PR 8002. Deputy Turner responded and checked the area but was unable to locate the calf.

1319 - A resident on FM 141 called to report that someone hit a deer and it is laying in his driveway blocking the entrance. He wanted someone remove the carcass from the entrance. Deputy Turner responded and removed the carcass.

1839 - A citizen reported a noise disturbance at a residence on E Austin Street. Sgt. Jones patrolled the area but did not hear any loud music or noise in the area.

1926 - A complainant requested to talk to a deputy in reference to terroristic threat. Sgt. Jones spoke with the complainant and determined the statement that she was referring to did not meet criteria for terroristic threat.

2359 - Sgt. Jones, Deputy Dickerson, and Trooper Pennartz assisted the Giddings PD with a traffic stop near Executive Inn. One subject was arrested and brought to jail.

 

November 29, 2022

0254 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked at CR 216 and CR 217. Sgt. Jones and Deputy Dickerson responded. The driver had run out of gas.

1031 - Deputy Dudley attempted civil process at E Brenham. No contact was made with the respondent.

1130 -Deputy Dudley responded to CR 226 for a reported a low flying plane circling the area. He observed a low flying yellow plane crop dusting. There were no signs of distress.

1200 - A call was received reporting a black and white cow out on CR 113 about two and a half miles off of FM 2440. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded. The owners of the cow arrived and ran the cow back onto their property.

1323 - A complainant called of a theft off FM 141 and wished to file a report. Sgt. Holloway met with the caller. No offense was committed.

1606 - Allstate securities called to report a commercial burglar alarm at a location on CR 235. The reported point of entry was a window. Deputy Turner responded and checked the area. Gates are secured and there are no signs of a break in.

 

November 30, 2022

0145 - Cows were reported out on FM 141 at CR 116. Sgt. Jones searched the area but did not locate any loose livestock.

0400 - Sgt. Jones assisted Giddings police department with a call on West Austin St.

0507 - Sgt. Jones came across a dead cow on FM 696 near CR 307 which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle; the ear tag had owner information on it. The owner was called with no answer. Requested TXDOT be notified to remove the carcass.

0705 - A call was received reporting a front door audible alarm going off on FM 696 with the alarm company unable to reach the home owner. Sgt. Young and Cpl. West responded. The house was secure.

1009 - Several calls came into the Sheriff's Office about a large metal piece in the middle of the road on HYW 77 north near HWY 21. Cpl. West responded and the object had been removed from the road prior to his arrival.

1205 - A call was received with the complainant stating his wife and her dog were attacked by a loose pit bulldog that has been running loose in the neighborhood. Sgt. Young responded to the call on CR 425 to speak with caller.

1320 - Deputy West posted a citation at the request of the County Clerk.

1643 - Sgt. Young, Cpl. West, and Trooper Pennartz responded to a call of a child taken without permission. The child was located at a relative's home.

1744 - A call was received for a wellness check on a resident off HWY 77 north. Sgt. Strouth responded.

2110 - A cow was reported out on SH 21 east of US 77. Sgt. Strouth responded and the cow was secured.  

2216 - A call was received stating an unknown individual was outside a home on FM 112. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Brown responded to call and were unable to locate anyone.

2221 - Sgt. Strouth responded to a reported assault. The incident was verbal and the parties were separated.

2312 - A call was received reporting a husband being aggressive to his wife. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Brown responded. It was verbal only and the caller and children stayed at a relative's home for the night.

2330 - Deputy Brown responded to a cow out on near CR 116.

 

December 1, 2022

0212 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy J. Brown to a possible house fire off CR 114. Giddings Volunteer Fire Department and Lee County EMS responded to the call. It was determined the smoke came from an upstairs heater.

0650 - A black cow was reported out on FM 696 East of Lexington. Lexington Chief Garza responded and put the livestock in a pasture.

0730 - A 911 call was received reporting a one vehicle rollover accident with a single occupant. Sgt. Young and Cpl. West responded along with Lee County EMS and Dime Box Volunteer Fire Department. The driver was transported to St. Joseph's in Caldwell.

1024 - A loose longhorn was reported on CR 118. Deputy Webber responded and was unable to locate.

1115 - A cow was reported out on CR 114 near Silver Spur Ranch. Sgt. Young responded. The cow ran into the woods. The livestock owner was notified.

1145 - Giddings Police Department contacted the Sheriff's Office about three horses running loose on US 290 East. Deputy Webber responded and assisted the owners in penning the horses.

1205 - A call was received of a neighbor's hogs loose on property off CR 323. Cpl. West responded and was unable to locate any loose hogs.

1223 - Cpl. West assisted occupants of a vehicle which had lost its mattress on FM 141.

1424 - Capt. Mastronardi conducted a welfare check on an individual on S. Leon Street.

1444 - Constable Stephens and Deputy Webber provided a funeral escort in Lexington.

1515 - Sgt. Young red tagged an abandoned vehicle on FM 2239 which appeared to have been in a traffic crash.

1550 - Cpl. West came upon a black calf out on CR 118. The calf was removed from the roadway.  

1555 - A call was received about a longhorn out on CR 118. Cpl. West responded to the location and made contact with the owner.

1811 - Deputy Haman responded to a report of a piece of metal in the roadway on US 77. The metal was unable to be located.

1816 - A cow was reported out on FM 141 near CR 116. Cpl. West responded and secured the cow.

2236 - Sgt. Strouth came upon 2 vehicles at an oil pad off US 290 near FM 180. The vehicle occupants were oilfield workers.

 

December 2, 2022

0215 - A horse was reported out on FM 141 near CR 450. Sgt. Strouth responded and secured the horse.

0252 - Deputy Haman removed a tire out of the roadway on US 290.

0304 - Deputy Haman located loose livestock on CR 205 near FM 2239. The livestock were removed from the roadway.

0740 - A call was received regarding harassment. Sgt. Holloway spoke with the complainant and a report was taken.

0959 - A call was received of a two vehicle accident on HWY 21 near CR 400. Lee County EMS, Dime Box VFD, Sgt. Holloway, Lt. Adams, and Trooper McCoy responded

1133 - A complainant called wanting to speak with an officer regarding threats he has been receiving. Deputy Turner spoke with the complainant.

1334 - A call was received from a residence off CR 304 regarding a disturbance. Sgt. Holloway, Deputies Webber and Turner responded. The parties were separated.

1542 - Deputy Turner met with a complainant regarding a civil matter.  

1607 - Sgt. Holloway and Lt. Adams checked out with a suspicious vehicle behind Cefco in Lexington.

1833 - A caller reported they were being chased by a male in a white dually. Sgt. Strouth met with the complainant on US 77 near SH 21.

1939 - A report was received of a trailer striking a fence after coming unhitched from a truck. Deputy Dickerson responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. The land owner and driver worked out an agreement to fix the fence.

1951 - Cows were reported out on SH 21 at CR 440. Sgt. Jones located the cows and ran them back into a field.

2055 - Sgt. Jones checked out with a vehicle on the side of the road. The vehicle was unoccupied and secured off the road way. The vehicle was red tagged.

2117 - A report of a possible burglary of a habitation at a home near Main Street. Sgt. Jones and Deputy Dickerson responded to the scene. The home was secure and it appeared to be a lamp in the house flickering.

2129 - A call was received from the bowling alley about a subject that wrecked into several cars in the parking lot. Sgt. Jones and Deputy Dickerson responded where an accident report was taken.

2242 - Sgt. Jones and Deputy Dickerson responded to the area of CR 113 for gun shots.  

 

December 3, 2022

0141 - Sgt. Jones responded to a possible stalker off FM 112 at a residence. Nobody was found in the area.

0142 - A report of gunshots off Deerwood Drive. Deputy Dickerson responded to the scene did not hear any gunshots and did not see anybody in the area.

0540 - Deputy Turner attempted a traffic stop on HWY 290 near FM 180. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle came to a stop at Cefco in Giddings.

1112 - A longhorn cow was reported out on CR 118. Deputy Turner and Sgt. Holloway located the cow and removed it from the roadway.

1157 - A call was received of a vehicle being struck by a white Lexus. The suspect vehicle took off onto 5th street. The vehicle and suspect were located on Holcombe Dr. The suspect was identified and found to have an active warrant out of Smithville for assault family violence. The suspect was taken into custody for the warrant. Trooper McCoy took the accident report. 

1241 - A caller reported a silver minivan, swerving all over the roadway almost causing a head on collision. At the time of call the vehicle was entering Lexington from FM 696 East. Trooper McCoy and Sgt. Holloway located the vehicle pulling into Cefco. The driver was tired and is pulling over to rest.

1517 - A call was received about a calf out on FM 141. Sgt. Holloway checked the area and didn't see any loose livestock on the roadway.

1533 - Deputy Turner assisted Giddings PD with an alarm call on North Madison.

2222 - Sgt. Jones and Deputy Dickerson responded to a call of gunshots from the complainant's property.  

 

December 4, 2022

0627 - A complainant called to report people on his property located on Cherry Street. Deputy Turner and Sgt. Holloway responded and checked the property. Contact was made with caller. A close patrol will be conducted throughout the day.

0719 - A call was received of a vehicle striking a deer on US 77 near CR 114. Deputy Turner and Trooper McCoy responded. B&M arrived on scene and took possession of the vehicle. Trooper McCoy took the accident report.

0818 - A call was received requesting a deputy meet with the complainant at the corner of FM 141 and CR 430 in reference to someone trespassing and property damage. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Turner met with the complainant and information was taken for a report.

0941 -Loose cattle were reported out on CR 114. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Turner responded and checked the area. They did not see any loose cattle on the roadway.

1003 - A complainant on FM 1697 called to report 3 to 4 head of cattle on her property that do not belong to her. Sgt. Holloway contacted the complainant by phone.

1016 - A call was received regarding an 18 wheeler swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 21 east traveling westbound. Deputy Tuner located and stopped the vehicle on Hwy 21 just west of Lincoln Lake Road.

1313 -A car was reported to be in the bushes on Hwy 290 just west of CR 202. Deputy Turner checked the area and was unable to locate.

1341 - A complainant called requesting to speak with an officer about fraud. Sgt. Holloway spoke with the complainant.

1437 - Deputy Turner and Sgt. Holloway conducted a funeral escort for Phillips and Luckey's Funeral Home.

1450 -Ten head of cattle were reported to be out on CR 127 near CR 119. Deputy Turner and Sgt. Holloway responded to the area. The owner was already out securing the cattle off the roadway

1756 - Two cows were reported out on Hwy 21 near the Yegua Creek.  Deputy Dickerson checked the area and no loose livestock was located.

1922 - A call was received regarding an animal carcass on Hwy 290 near Cr 200. Sgt. Jones checked to the Bastrop County line and no animal carcass was located.

2306 - An accident was reported at Cherry and Rockdale in Lexington. Deputy Dickerson and Sgt. Jones responded to the scene. The vehicle hit a tree and a power pole. The subject was booked into the Lee County Jail for Driving while intoxicated.
