SHERIFF'S REPORT

November 7, 2022

0647 - A 911 call was received to report a missing child.  All units responded and the child was located.

0855 - Cpl. West responded to a call of a longhorn out on FM 180.

0930 - Sgt. Ray responded to a report of suspicious activity.

0936 - Cpl. West responded to a call for a credit card found on FM 141.

1325 - Cpl. West responded to a 2-car accident on Hwy 21. No injuries were reported, and vehicles were off roadway.

1529 - Sheriff Goetz responded to a call for an injured dog at a business located in Giddings. The owner of the animal was contacted.

1515 - Deputy Young, Sergeant Ray, Corporal West and CID investigators went to a residence off CR 302 to serve warrants. Subject was located and detained.

1700 - Deputy Young responded to a cow out on FM 112.

1705 - Sgt. Ray responded to subject requesting to speak to a deputy at the Sheriff's Office.

2009 - Sgt. McAnally and Deputy Brown red tagged a vehicle on CR 218 near CR 217.

 

November 8, 2022

0627 - Deputy Young assisted a Fayette County Deputy at a location in Giddings.

0629 - A call was received to report cattle out on CR 114.  Deputy Brown secured the cattle.

0636 - Sgt. Ray made contact with a complainant regarding parental rights.

0652 - Sgt. Ray responded to a call reporting cows out on FM 112.

0729 - A call was received for possible animal cruelty on CR 425.  Sgt. Ray responded and was unable to locate any animals on the property.

0735 - Sgt. Ray responded to a cow out on FM 3403 near CR 442 but was unable to locate.

0933 - Sgt. Ray and Deputy Webber responded to a call of a juvenile leaving home.  No report was taken, and the juvenile returned home.

1033 - Deputy Young responded to the Sheriff's Office to speak with a complainant regarding a dispute with a neighbor.

1505 - A call from Capital Metro Railroad Austin was received to report a freight train struck a vehicle on CR 200 at crossing 742423Y. No injuries were reported. Deputies West and Young assisted DPS with the crash.  A report was taken by DPS.

2018 - Deputy Strouth advised of a vehicle with open doors on 5th street in Lexington. The deputy was unable to make contact with anyone.  The vehicle was secured.

2052 - Units responded to a reported domestic disturbance call on Hwy 21. The parties separated.

 

November 9, 2022

0558 - Sgt. Holloway responded to a call about loose livestock on FM 1697 near FM 180 but did not locate any loose livestock.

0858 - Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley assisted Giddings PD with a welfare check. The subject was located, and information relayed.

1122 - A call was received for assistance in retrieving personal items from a residence off FM 696.  Sgt. Holloway responded and advised caller to contact Justice of the Peace office.

1353 - Sgt. Holloway conducted a welfare check on FM 141. Subject was ok.

1407 - Deputy Dudley assisted with a funeral procession from Giddings to Ledbetter.

1409 - Sgt. Adams conducted a follow up investigation on CR 307.

1643 - A cow was reported out on FM 696 near CR 307. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded.

1842 - Deputies Dickerson and Brown responded to a call about a residential burglary on CR A.

2115 - Deputy Dickerson responded to suspicious activity at a business on FM 696. The subject was identified, and all was ok.

2246 - Deputy J. Brown assisted Giddings PD at Rolling Oaks Drive. A report was taken.

2311 - A call was received about a vehicle striking a deer on Hwy 21 near CR 426. Deputy J. Brown responded.

2335 - A report of cattle out on FM 1697 was received and Deputy Dickerson removed cattle from the roadway.

 

November 10, 2022

0719 - A call was received about cows out on FM 696 at CR 304. Sgt Holloway responded.  No loose livestock was found.

0748 - Deputy Dudley responded to a report of cows out on CR114.  Deputy Dudley removed the cattle from the roadway.

0950 - Sgt. Holloway conducted a compliance check on a registered sex offender in the Lexington area.

1116 - Deputy Dudley and Sgt. Holloway responded to a complaint of an aggressive dog with puppies on property in Dime Box. Arrangements will be made to remove the dogs.

1326 - Deputies Webber and Turner responded to a possible break-in on FM 180.  No forced entry was detected, and no items were taken.

1341 - A warrant service was conducted by Sgt. Mastronardi and Sgt. Adams on CR 200. Sgt Holloway and Deputy Dudley assisted.  Subject was arrested and released to Burleson County.

1503 - A call was received report a pickup driving recklessly on CR 430. Sgt. Holloway responded but did not find a vehicle matching the description of the pickup.

1522 - A 911 call was received reporting family violence.  Sgt. Holloway, Deputies Dudley, Webber and Turner all responded. A subject was taken into custody for assault-family violence and transported to the Lee County Jail.

1651 - A call was received for possible abuse. Sgt. Holloway, Lieutenant Mastronardi and Deputy Dudley responded.  No offense was found to have been committed.

1829 - Sgt. Jones assisted a stranded motorist near FM 696 and FM 112 who had struck a deer. No report taken.

1900 - Deputy Dickerson responded to a call about a subject walking down HWY 21 yelling and screaming.  The subject was unable to be located.

2032 - Deputy Dickerson removed cattle from the roadway on CR 430.

2127 - An unknown 911 call was received from CR 226. Deputy Dickerson responded with no one being located at the location.

2319 - Deputy Dickerson assisted a motorist on Hwy 290 and CR 237.  All was ok.

2323 - Cattle were reported out on Hwy 21 near CR 440. Deputy Dickerson responded but no cattle were located loose.

2329 - Sgt. Jones responded to a business alarm in Lexington. The building was closed and secure.

 

November 11, 2022

0518 - A suspicious vehicle was reported on the side of the road on FM 2239 about a mile off of FM 448.  Deputy Dickerson responded but the reported vehicle was not found in the area.

0930 - A report of a suspicious male sitting at the end of CR 233 and Hwy 290. Sgt. Young responded and gave subject a courtesy ride to Paige.

1030 - Sgt. Young responded to a call of cows out on CR 430. The cattle were moved and put up.

1035 - Corporal West responded to a report of a vehicle running through a fence on CR 101. A case report was taken for reckless damage.

1055 - A caller reported hitting a deer on Hwy 77 South. Corporal West responded.  No report was taken.

1150 - Sgt. Young responded to a suspicious vehicle at a location on CR 118. A dog was tied to the vehicle.  The dog had food and water and appeared to be fine.

1345 - A caller reported a theft at a business location in Lexington. Sgt. Young responded and passed the information to Lexington PD.

1350 - Cpl. West responded to a call of aggressive dogs on CR 230.

1600 - A call was received of a reported stolen vehicle traveling southbound on US 77 south of Lexington. The vehicle was then reported to be traveling toward Bastrop.  Sheriff Goetz proceeded to Bastrop County line on SH 21 but was unable to locate.  Information was passed onto Bastrop County.

1605 - Sgt. Young located a bull out on Hwy 21 in Lincoln. The bull was put up.

1630 - Sgt. Young and Cpl. West escorted the Lexington football team from Lexington HS to Giddings HS.

1700 - A call was received reporting a juvenile in the middle of the roadway multiple times during the week on FM 180. Sgt. Strouth responded.

1821 - Deputy Strouth checked the welfare of two subjects walking down the road.  The subjects were offered a ride but refused.

1836 - Deputy Haman responded to an accidental 911 call off SH 21.  Contact was made and all was ok.

1845 - Deputy Strouth made contact with owners about cattle issues on CR 114.  Cattle were returned.

2223 - Deputy Strouth came upon two vehicles on Hwy 77 south of Lexington.  One of the vehicles had struck a deer.

 

November 12, 2022

0228 - An unknown 911 call was received from Turner Lane. Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman responded.  It was an accidental dial. All was ok.

0329 - Sgt. Strouth came across a stalled vehicle on Hwy 77 and Hwy 290. The driver had a wrecker already on the way.

0809 - A cow was reported out on CR 430. Deputy Terpstra responded and removed the cow from the roadway.

0815 - A call was received about a cow out on CR 114 about a mile off of Hwy 21. Cpl. West located and removed the cow from the roadway.

0909 - Sgt. Young responded to a call about an aggressive dog on Hwy 77 in Lexington.

1010 - A caller requested to speak with a Deputy about a vehicle loaned to a subject refusing to give it back. Deputy Terpstra and Cpl. West responded to the location, met with both parties, and advised it would be a civil matter. 

1039 - Sgt. Young responded to a report of trespassers and damaged fences on CR 334.  A report was taken.

1315 - Sgt. Young responded to a report of a tree in the roadway on FM 112 near CR 314. TXDOT was notified.

1709 - A two vehicle accident was reported with no injuries. Sgt. Young responded and took the crash report. Corporal West and Lincoln FD responded to provide traffic control.

1724 - Deputy Haman met with a complainant on CR 309 regarding a theft report.

1837 - A call was received about someone letting air out of tires. Sergeant Strouth met with caller at the Lexington PD and advised more patrol would be given in the area.

2010 - Sergeant Strouth responded to a report of a reckless driver near Rockdale Street but was unable to locate the vehicle.

2025 - Sergeant Strouth conducted a closed patrol of the laundry mat in Lexington.

2045 - A 911 call was received about a subject breathing but not responding.  EMS was paged out. Deputy Haman responded.

2118 - A call was received reporting a loud neighbor and requested to speak to a deputy at the Police Department in Lexington.

2135 - A call was received reporting a man threatening to shoot residents of a home on N Manse Avenue in Giddings. The call was transferred to Giddings PD.  Sergeant Strouth and Deputy Haman responded to assist.

2244 - Sergeant Strouth advised a vehicle was blocking the roadway on Simpson's Street in Lexington. The owners were notified and the vehicle was moved.

2312 - An abandoned vehicle was located by Sergeant Strouth near CR 322.  Vehicle was red tagged.

2331 - A 911 call was received with the complainant advising they hear what they believe to be a disturbance between a man and woman behind Dairy Queen. Deputy Haman was unable to locate the reported altercation.

2340 -Deputy Haman responded to assist Giddings PD on a call on E Railroad ROW of an intoxicated person not allowing someone to leave a residence. No report was taken and the subjects were separated.

 

November 13, 2022

0022 - A call was received of a vehicle hitting a deer on Hwy 290.  Caller reported the air bags deployed and vehicle was unable to be driven. Deputy Haman responded and drove occupants to Bucees.  Wrecker service was called to scene.

0024 - Deputy Strouth met with a subject at a storage facility on FM 696.  Subject advised he was retrieving his property from his friend's storage unit.  The subject was wanted for burglary of building out of Travis County.  Deputy Haman also responded and items were returned to storage unit. Subject was transported to Lee County Jail without issue.

0313 - Deputy Haman red tagged a vehicle on Hwy 77.

0740 - A caller requested a deputy respond to CR 430 for a theft.  Cpl. West responded.

0818 - A cow was reported out on FM 2339.  Sgt. Young responded and calf was returned to property by owner before Sgt. Young's arrival.

1435 - Sgt. Young responded to a 911 call reporting cattle out on FM 141 between CR 430 and CR 432.  The cattle owners were securing the cattle when Sgt. Young arrived.

1712 - Multiple calls were received reporting cows out on Hwy 21 west of Hwy 77.  Sgt. Young responded and was able to return the cattle to their pasture.

1941 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman responded to call reporting a vehicle striking a deer on Hwy 21.

2030 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman assisted the Giddings PD with a disturbance on W Hemptstead.

2051 - A call was received from Giddings PD reporting a cow out on CR114. The cow was secured.

2111 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Haman responded to an accident near Rabbs Creek Bridge.  Report was taken. Wrecker service was called to retrieve the vehicle.
