October 24 - October 29, 2022

 

October 24, 2022

0625 - A one vehicle accident was reported on US 77 near Tanglewood. The vehicle struck a fence and light pole. Sergeant Ray responded and worked the crash. Bluebonnet Electric responded.

0735 - A call was received reporting loose goats on US 77 near County Road 114. Corporal West responded with Giddings PD assisting. The livestock were removed from the roadway.

1020 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to report a neighbor trespassing on their property. Sergeant Ray spoke with the complainant.

1625 - A call was received regarding estray cattle. Sergeant Ray responded and took a report.

2026- Deputy J. Brown responded to Rolling Oaks Drive to assist Giddings PD with a criminal trespass subject. Deputy Brown located the suspect near the location and detained her for Giddings PD.

2053 - A call was received of cattle out on County Road 114 near the Silver Spur Ranch. Sergeant McAnally checked the area and was unable to locate.

2143 - A call was received from Onstar reporting a traffic crash on SH 21 at FM 3403. Deputy J. Brown responded and a report was taken.

2155 - A call was received of an assault on County Road 342. Sergeant McAnally responded and the victim did not wish to file charges.

2334 - A call was received of a tree branch blocking FM 448 south of FM 2239. Sergeant McAnally responded and cleared the roadway

2344 - 2 Cattle were reported out in the Lexington Washateria parking lot. Deputy J. Brown responded and secured the cattle off Avenue G.

0122 - A call was received of an uninvited male entering a home off County Road 401. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy J. Brown responded. One male was arrested for criminal trespass of a habitation.

 

October 25, 2022

0718-A 911  call was received of two vehicle traffic crash involving two commercial vehicles which were blocking the westbound lanes of SH 21. Corporal West, Dime Box VFD, Lee County EMS responded.

1150 - Deputy Webber responded to a call of a cow out on FM 1624 near the Fedor Fire Department. The cow was removed from the roadway.

1151 - Loose livestock was reported on FM 141 near County Road 119. Corporal West responded and the bull was removed from the roadway.

1455 - A call was received reporting 4 head of cattle out on County Road 226. Corporal West responded and was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1838 - A call was received of several cattle out on SH 21 near US 77. Deputy Haman responded and was unable to locate loose livestock.

2024 - A report was received of 5 head of cattle loose on County Road 306 near the tunnel. Deputy Haman responded.

2057 - A call was received the FAA reporting a laser had been pointed into the cockpit of a plane that was flying over the Giddings Airport. Deputy J. Brown responded and checked the area around the airport for a possible suspect. No individual was located in the area.

2105 - Deputy Haman checked out on an abandoned trailer near the intersection of FM 696 and FM 619. The trailer was red tagged.  

2131 - A cow was reported out on FM 448 near the Fayette County line. Deputy J. Brown responded and secured the loose livestock on property on FM 448.

2225 - A call was received advising a subject attempted to take items without paying at the Texaco on East Austin, Giddings. Giddings PD and Deputy Haman responded.  

2300 - Multiple cattle were reported out on AH 21 east of Lincoln. Deputy J. Brown responded and secured the livestock off the roadway.

 

October 26, 2022

0611- Sergeant Holloway located several calves out on FM 141 near the Middle Yegua bridge. The calves were removed from the roadway.  

0830 - A call was received requesting a welfare check on a man in a black pickup on SH 21 near US 77. Deputy Dickerson responded and the vehicle was gone upon his arrival.  

0835 - A call was received of a black cow out on FM 2239. Deputy Dickerson responded and was unable to locate.  

1105 - A complainant called requesting to speak to a deputy about a neighbor shooting at her dos. Deputy Dickerson spoke with the complainant.

1339 - Loose livestock was reported on FM 696 near County Road 307. Deputy Dudley responded and was unable to locate.

1555 - A complainant called reporting she was threatened by her neighbor. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Dickerson responded.

1911 - A one vehicle accident was SH 21 and FM 2440. Sergeant Jones, Deputy Strouth, Lincoln VFD, and Lee County EMS responded. The vehicle was found to not have been involved in an accident but was disabled

2000 - Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded to a report of debris in the roadway on SH 21 near FM 141. Deputy Strouth located the debris and removed it from the roadway.

2137 - A call was received of cattle out on County Road 133 near FM 180. Deputy Strouth responded and was unable to locate.

  

October 27, 2022

0403 - Deputy Strouth located a cow on County Road 216. The cow was removed from the roadway.

0947 - A call was received of several dogs attacking the complainant's dog on County Road 230. Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Dudley responded and attempted to contact the animal owners. A report was taken.

1024 - A female was reported sitting at the intersection of County Road 309 and FM 696. Deputy Weber responded and transported the female to her residence. 

1124 - Eight head of cattle were reported out on County Road 114 near County Road 134. Deputy Weber responded and ran the cattle into a pasture off County Road 134.

1629 - A report of a disturbance on County Road 114. Sergeant Holloway responded, separated the individuals, and a report was taken.  

1842 - Gun shots were reported behind the Giddings State School Deputy Strouth checked the area and spoke to property owners.

1851 - A cow was reported loose on County Road 114 behind the Giddings High School. Sergeant Jones secured the cow off the roadway.

1929 - A reckless driver was reported on US 77 heading northbound near the north Giddings City limits.  Deputy Strouth attempted to locate.  

1930 - A reckless driver was reported on SH 21 traveling eastbound. Deputy Strouth was unable to locate after checking the area.

2015 - A truck tractor was reported driving on FM 141 which was losing its load. Deputy Strouth checked the area and was unable to locate.

2112 - A cow was reported out on FM 696 west. Sergeant Jones checked the area and was unable to locate.

2133 - Cattle were reported out on SH 21 near County Road 327. Deputy Strouth responded to the area and the cattle were secured by the owner prior to Deputy Strouth's arrival.

2322 - An alarm company reported no closing notification was received from a business in Lexington. Deputy Strouth checked the business and everything was secure.

0023 - A 911 call was received of a female who had removed a male from his work truck and left him on the side of the road on County Road 426. The female called as well and met with Deputy Strouth at Bubba's Truck Stop. Deputy Strouth took information and made contact with the initial male complainant who was given a ride to his residence. The owner of the truck took possession of the vehicle.

0126 - A 911 call was received with the caller stating she believed someone was in her home off County Road 454. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded. All was secure

0212-  A black cow was reported in the roadway on FM 141 near County Road 119. Sergeant Jones responded. The caller called back to report the cow had returned to the property before law enforcement arrival

0413 - A call was received of semi traffic traveling at a high rate of speed on FM 141. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth checked area. Information passed on to all shifts.

 

October 28, 2022

0805 - Deputy Young attempted civil process on Oak Bend Lane. Papers served

0905 - Deputy Young served civil process papers on Sherrill Lane

0919 - Deputy Young and Corporal West responded to a residence regarding a firearm check requested by the owner.

0949 - Sergeant Ray attempted civil process on Hollow Creek Road. No contact made.

1005 - A traffic crash was reported on US 77. Trooper Pennartz responded.

1045 - Corporal West served civil process paperwork on Richmond Street

1104 - Sergeant Ray served civil process paperwork on Holcume Drive, Lexington.  

1114 - A call was received of a traffic crash on County Road 200. Trooper Pennartz responded and was unable to locate a crash

1319 - Corporal West attempted civil process on County Road 411

1320 - Corporal West responded to a call of vandalism on County Road 306. A report was taken.

1622 - A complainant called reporting her vehicle was vandalized and a second vehicle taken without her permission. Deputy Young responded and a report taken

1630 - Deputy Young drove upon several head of cattle out on US 77 on his way to previous listed call. Corporal West responded and assisted with pushing the cattle over Nails Creek and off the roadway.

1818 - A call was received of a cow out on FM 696 West. Sergeant McAnally responded and the cow was secured off the roadway

1900 - A call was received of a vehicle that had run the complainant off the roadway on County Road 218 and into a fence. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded and a report taken

1941 - Deputies responded to a fight in the jail where one inmate was transported to the hospital for injuries

1957- A call was received of a UHaul truck driving without headlamps on US 290 heading westbound. Deputy J. Brown responded and was unable to locate

2011 - Deputy J. Brown located an abandoned vehicle on US 290 near County Road 200. The vehicle was red tagged.

2013 - A cow was reported out on FM 141 near the Antique Store. Sergeant McAnally responded and the cow was secured off the roadway

 

October 29, 2022

0219 - A one vehicle accident was reported on FM 1624 in Lexington. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded with Lexington EMS Squad one. A crash report was taken and TxDOT notified of the guardrail damage. 

0354 - A call was received of 2 suspicious vehicles parked in the comlainant's driveway on County Road 130. Deputy Haman responded and was unable to locate as vehicle were gone upon her arrival.

0505 - A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in the middle of County Road 317. Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Haman, and Deputy J. Brown responded. The occupant was arrested for public intoxication.

0558 - A cow was reported out on FM 141. Deputy Young responded

0758 - A cow was reported out on FM 2239. Sergeant Ray responded.

0840 - 2 head of cattle were reported on MF 1624 near County Road 324. Corporal West responded. 

1058 - Cattle were reported out on Counry Road 114 near Silver Spur Ranck. Sergeant Ray and Corporal West responded. The cattle were removed off the roadway. 

1134 - Deputy Young responded to FM 448 regarding livestock on a neighbor's property

1451 - A DPS Trooper attempted to make a traffic stop and the turned off US 290 onto County Road 200. The vehicle went through a fence before being abandoned in the pasture. The occupants fled on foot. All Lee County units assisted in searching for the suspects. Mutual aid from Austin air responded to assist in the search.

1500 - Multiple calls were received regarding black cows out on US 77 near the Giddings High School All units were tied up on search. Giddings PD assisted with removing the cattle from the highway.

1624 - A caller requested to speak to a deputy regarding neighbor's dogs attacking her goats. Deputy Haman responded.

1647 - Four cows were reported out on County Road 114 near Silver Spur Ranch. Deputy Haman responded and removed the cattle from the roadway.

1735 - A 911 call was received from Apple Phone Service who stated they had received a crash detection on FM 1624 and were not able to make contact with the owner. Deputy Haman responded

1947 - A call was received requesting a welfare check off County Road 454. Deputy Haman responded and all occupants were good.

2027 - Sirius XM called reporting a stolen vehicle on US 290 traveling eastbound. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy J. Brown responded and were unable to locate. The information was passed onto Washington County.  

2147 - A major accident was reported on County Road 133. Trooper Pennartz arrested the driver for DWI. Sergeant McAnally, Deputies J. Brown and Haman assisted. Lexington EMS and Giddings VFD responded

2248 - A call was received of a possible commercial vehicle crash on US 77 north of Giddings High School. Sergeant McAnally, Deputies Haman and J. Brown along with Lee County EMS and Giddings VFD responded. Units canceled after Giddings VFD arrived and found vehicle was out of fuel

0040 - A cow was reported out on FM 141 near County Road 116. Sergeant McAnally responded and secured the cow off the roadway.

0140 - Sergeant McAnally assisted Giddings PD with a subject at Whataburger who was passed out in the drive thru.

0149 - A noise disturbance was reported on East Austin. Deputy J. Brown checked the area and was unable to locate.

0153 - Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Haman, and Deputy J. Brown assisted Giddings PD with a disturbance on East Hempstead.

0330 - Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Haman, and Deputy J. Brown responded to FM 1624 for a family disturbance. Lee County EMS also responded and transported one subject to the hospital.
