September 26 - October 2, 2022

 

September 26, 2022

0647 - A 911 call was received reporting a 2 vehicle accident on Hwy 290 at Shady Oaks Drive. No injuries reported. Trooper Pennartz and Sergeant McAnally responded.

0830 - A caller wanted to speak with a Deputy about cows on her property. Sergeant McAnally responded to the call.

0900 - A complainant was transferred from Bastrop County reporting threatening calls.  Sergeant McAnally took the call and a report was started.

1100 - A male subject came into the Sheriff's Office to turn himself in. Sergeant McAnally responded.

1150 - A complainant contacted the Sheriff's Office to speak to a Deputy about cancelling a CTW. Sergeant McAnally took the call.

1700 - A complainant called to report a family member assaulted her and is refusing to leave the residence on Hwy 290. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber responded. One subject was taken into custody and booked into Lee County Jail.

1837 - A caller reported a calf out on CR 329. Deputy Young responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1838 - A caller reported a heifer out on CR 209 near CR 118. Deputy Young responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1917 - Sergeant Ray advised of a male subject walking along the side of Hwy 77 near CR 114 heading northbound. Subject was okay and refused a courtesy ride.

2002 - Deputy Young advised a tractor trailer on the side of Hwy 77 in Lincoln. All was okay and vehicle was moved.

2020 - A caller advised there was a disabled vehicle on Hwy 21 near FM 2440 with a female occupant that had been parked overnight. Corporal West responded and upon arrival the vehicle was being towed. All checked out okay.

2024 - Multiple callers reported a male subject walking in the middle of Hwy 77 just south of Hwy 21. It was the same male subject reported earlier.  Deputy Young responded and gave subject a courtesy ride to the Milam County Line on Hwy 77.

2118 - A caller reported a bull on her parent's property on CR 116 that does not belong to them. Sergeant Ray spoke with the owner of the bull and owner advised he had been attempting to catch the bull to remove it. Sergeant Ray also spoke with caller and advised her bull would be removed.

2306 - Williamson County advised there was a reckless driver heading southbound on FM 112. Vehicle was reported swerving all over the road and unable to maintain speed. Deputy J. Brown responded to the area but was unable to locate the described vehicle.

                                

September 27, 2022

1133 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office regarding a dog that was being neglected. Sergeant McAnally responded and met with complainant. Sergeant McAnally went to dog owner's residence but was unable to access the property because of a locked gate. Sergeant McAnally left his business card so owner could contact him.

1238 - Deputy Strouth stopped out with an abandoned vehicle located on Hwy 21 East close to Hwy 21. Vehicle was off the roadway and was red tagged.

1322 - A Detective from Travis County asked for assistance on Trailside Drive. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber responded.

1804 - A caller reported his truck on fire. Giddings VFD, Deputy J. Brown and Corporal West responded.

1903 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 290 East of FM 180. Deputy J. Brown responded and secured the cow off the roadway.

1907 - A caller reported a semi heading westbound on Hwy 290 East that had debris flying off and all over the roadway. Deputy J. Brown responded on his way to a cow call. Deputy J. Brown advised the vehicle had stopped and was removing debris from the roadway.

1933 - A caller reported lumber blocking the roadway on Hwy 290 near Rolling Oaks. Giddings PD and Deputy J. Brown made scene for assistance. Roadway was cleared of debris.

1934 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 290 approximately 1 mile from the Fayette County Line. Deputy J. Brown responded. The owner was on scene upon Deputy Brown's arrival.

1947 - A caller reported 3-4 cows in the roadway on CR 114 near CR 134. Deputy Young responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2123 - A caller reported an abandoned vehicle on CR 413 near the curve. Sergeant Ray responded to the area but was unable to locate the described vehicle.

2201 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114. Deputy Young responded while Dispatch attempted to locate the owner. Deputy Young drove down CR 114 from Hwy 21 to Hwy 77 but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

September 28, 2022

0211 - A 911 call was received reported shots being fired near a residence on Hwy 77. Sergeant Ray and Deputy Young responded. Upon arrival, Sergeant Ray made contact with a subject standing in his front yard to ask if he had heard any shots. Subject confirmed hearing multiple shots go off that may have come from 3rd Street and Gary Street. Neither Sergeant Ray nor Deputy Young heard shots while on scene.

0724 - A caller reported 6 head of cattle out on CR 114 near the Silver Spur Ranch. Deputy L. Brown located the cattle and advised they all ran off into the woods near PR 1145.

0841 - Sheriff Goetz advised there was a vehicle on the side of Hwy 77 north of Giddings High School. The transmission went out and will be moved.

0908 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to report an item stolen. Deputy L. Brown met and spoke with complainant. A theft report was taken and item entered into TCIC/NCIC.

1251 - Sergeant Jones was informed of a cow out on Hwy 77 South near the Fayette County Line. Sergeant Jones responded, located and secured the cow off the roadway.

1838 - A caller reported a cow out on the road near CR 309. Deputy Dickerson was responding when caller advised cow was put up.

2253 - A caller reported the neighbor's dog had been barking for a while and asked that a Deputy check on the neighbors. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded. Homeowners were okay and the dog was put up.

 

September 29, 2022

0345 - A caller reported large road debris on Hwy 77 near CR 217. Deputy Dickerson checked the area but was unable to locate any debris.

0848 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 21 west of Old Dime Box. Deputy J. Brown responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1410 - A complainant called and reported a family member was acting out and threatening her and destroying property. Complainant asked that Deputies meet her at FM 141 and CR 430. Captain Allen, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown met with complainant and then drove to residence on CR 430. Parties were separated and family member given a courtesy ride to another location.

1435 - A motorist reported she hit a deer in the middle of FM 3403 at CR 446. Motorist reported she was off the roadway and not injured. Sergeant Jones responded and made contact with motorist.

1654 - Sergeant Jones, Deputies L. Brown and Strouth assisted Giddings PD with a disturbance call on Independence. Parties were separated.

2003 - A caller reported a male subject walking along Hwy 77 south of Hwy 21. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded and searched the area but were unable to locate the subject.

2215 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 near CR 134. Sergeant Holloway responded and located the cows. The cows were put up at CR 114; fences need to be repaired.

 

September 30, 2022

0156 - Giddings PD received a call advising a fight in progress at Bernie's. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded to assist.

0715 - A motorist called to speak to a Deputy about a claim for hitting a deer on FM 1624. Sergeant Jones spoke with motorist.

0805 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114. Sergeant Jones responded and cows were removed from the roadway.

0931 - Sergeant Jones conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 near CR 233. The driver had an invalid license and prior charges. Driver was arrested and booked into Lee County Jail.

0940 - A caller reported several cows and calves out on CR 114 near the Silver Spur Ranch. Deputy J. Brown responded.

1215 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office to speak with a Deputy about a restraining order. Sergeant Jones spoke with complainant.

1328 - Lieutenant Mastronardi and Sergeant Jones attempted warrant service. One male subject was taken into custody.

1449 - A 911 call was received and reported a vehicle drove off the road into the trees. Trooper Pennartz, Deputies Haman and J. Brown, Lee County EMS and Giddings Fire Department responded. DPS took the crash report.

2056 - A caller reported a suspicious person on CR 226. Caller stated the male subject had been seen walking around the area a couple of times. Corporal West responded and checked the area but was unable to locate the male subject.

2111 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 at Silver Spur Ranch. Corporal West responded and cows were removed from the roadway.

 

October 1, 2022

0730 - A caller reported 2 horses loose on the Giddings Golf Course. Deputy Haman responded and horses were secured on property at PR 2332.

0805 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 112 and CR 336. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0944 - A 911 call was received reporting a 1 vehicle rollover with driver pinned in the vehicle. All Lee County Units responded, along with, Lee County EMS, Squad 1, and Lexington Fire. DPS took the crash report.

0955 - A caller reported 2 calves out near FM 1624. Deputy Haman responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1114 - Sergeant McAnally advised he was out with loose livestock on FM 141. Livestock was put up and off the roadway.

1119 - A caller reported there was a vehicle blocking access at USPS in Dime Box. Deputy Terpstra responded. Upon arrival, car was moved. The caller called back again at 1208 and stated same car was again blocking access. Deputy Haman responded.

1205 - A caller reported a cow on Hwy 21 and CR 107. A 911 call was received shortly after advising a car hit the cow. Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Terpstra and Trooper Pennartz responded. Cow was run off the roadway to a property on CR 107 and will be held there until owner notified.

1550 - A caller reported a huge piece of plastic close to the roadway on Hwy 290 on the east side of Giddings. Sergeant McAnally responded.

1858 - A caller reported someone shooting an automatic weapon on CR 430 about a mile east of FM 141. Deputy J. Brown responded to the area but was unable to locate anyone shooting and heard not gunfire.

2051 - A complainant reported he was assaulted at the American Legion Hall in Lexington. No weapons were involved, complainant said he was pulled out of his car and subject hit him. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with both parties involved. Parties were separated.

2116 - A caller reported cows out on FM 141 near CR 116. Sergeant Ray responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2133 - A complainant reported possible trespassers at the new subdivision on CR 314. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown searched the subdivision but were unable to locate anyone in the area.

2224 - A complainant reported that someone was possibly trying to steal an RV from a property on Rockdale Street. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. A report was taken for burglary of a building.

2245 - A complainant requested a Deputy to a property on CR 111 regarding an issue with a tenant. Sergeant Ray responded and made contact with both parties; all was okay.

2346 - A caller reported loud music playing near Willow Creek Drive and would like a Deputy to respond to the area. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded and met with both parties. There was a wedding party at the location the music was coming from; music was turned down and owner advised music would be turned off at 0100.

 

October 2, 2022

0006 - A caller reported cows out on FM 141 and Hwy 21. Sergeant Ray made contact with the owner of the livestock and livestock were removed from the roadway.

0512 - A complainant reported 3 vehicles were on his property trying to steal items. Vehicles were seen leaving and headed towards Hwy 77. Sergeant Ray, Corporal West, Deputies J. Brown and Haman responded to the area but the vehicles were not located. Complainant advised he would check the property at daylight to see if anything was taken. No report taken at this time.

0757 - A caller reported a large carcass in the middle of lane of traffic. Deputy Haman responded.

0759 - Bastrop County called in a welfare check on a male subject whose vehicle was found flipped over. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded and checked address vehicle was registered to; subject was not at location. Bastrop County was notified.

0842 - A caller reported an 18-wheeler stopped in the slow lane in front of Altman Plants. Sergeant McAnally and Trooper Pennartz checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

0858 - A caller reported 4 cows out on CR 114 near Silver Spur Ranch. Sergeant McAnally responded and cows were moved off to PR 1143. The owner of Silver Spur Ranch was notified.

0925 - A 911 call was received reporting a reckless driver headed eastbound on Hwy 290. Vehicle had reportedly run off the roadway coming back onto the road driving on the wrong side of the road. Vehicle was stopped near McDonalds on Hwy 290 by Deputy Haman and Giddings PD. Driver did not have a valid DL. Sergeant McAnally and Trooper Pennartz were also on scene.

0939 - A complainant called to report someone had done damage his property/vehicle on Industry Avenue in Dime Box. Sergeant McAnally responded and an information report was taken.

1000 - A complainant called to have a Deputy do a standby at the Sheriff's Office. Deputy Haman responded.

1013 - A caller reported a vehicle partially blocking a lane of traffic on FM 696 east of CR 407. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate the described vehicle.

1540 - A complainant contacted the Sheriff's Office to speak with a Deputy about individuals harassing him while he is at the cemetery in Tanglewood. Sergeant McAnally spoke with complainant and was following up with address on CR 415.

1620 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 141 and advised the gate was open. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1942 - A complainant called stating a male subject was dropping items off a residence on CR 133 and requested a Deputy. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. A CTW was issued to male subject and parties were separated. Male subject will contact Giddings PD regarding a CTW issued for his property.

1956 - A 911 call was received reporting someone had crashed on a property on FM 969; 1 vehicle with injuries. Blue VFD, Lee County EMS and Sergeant Ray responded.  A crash report was taken and driver transported to Dell Seton.

2029 - A caller reported cows in the roadway on CR 220 off of Hwy 77. Deputy J. Brown responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2149 - Deputy J. Brown reported an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 77 near PR 7706. Vehicle was tagged.

2231 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on North County Line Road. Sergeant Ray responded and advised vehicle was in the roadway. Next rotation was requested and a report was taken.
