September 19 - September 25, 2022

 

September 19, 2022

0330 - Deputy J. Brown came across cattle out on CR 312 and CR 316. The cattle were put up at property on CR 316.

0530 - A caller reported a truck ran into a power line on Hwy 21 just past Bubba's Travel Stop. The power line was down across the roadway. Sergeant Ray, Corporal West, Deputies Young, J. Brown and Strouth responded. Dime Box Fire, Lee County EMS and Bluebonnet Electric also responded to the scene. Driver left the scene of the accident. Hwy 21 was shut down to two lanes only.

0643 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114. The cows belong to Silver Spur Ranch. Deputy Strouth responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0751 - A caller reported cows out on CR 116 and CR 133. Deputy Strouth responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0825 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 21 and Manheim Road. Deputy Strouth responded and cows were put up.

1019 - ADT called regarding a home alarm on CR 226. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded and checked the premises, all was secure.

1908 - A caller reported a possible drunk driver on Hwy 77 south in Warda headed northbound. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded to the location given. The vehicle was located by Giddings PD on Hwy 77 just inside the city limits.

1923 - A caller reported cows out on FM 696 at CR 309 and on FM 69 near the county line. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

1951 - A caller reported cows out on FM 141. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded and removed the cows from the roadway.

2146 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 203. Deputies Dudley and Dickerson responded and removed the cow from the roadway.

2246 - A caller advised she had a blow out and was not sure where she was but the call was coming from Hwy 77.  No property damage and no injuries were reported. Deputies Dudley and Dickerson responded; the car was towed and the driver was given a ride to Buccee's in Giddings.                                                                                                               

September 20, 2022

0047 - A caller reported an 18-wheeler roll over on Hwy 77. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley, Trooper McCoy, Lexington Fie and Lee County EMS all responded. One subject was transported by EMS; all lanes of traffic were blocked off.

0727 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 1624 between Hwy 77 and Hwy 21. Deputy L. Brown responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0742 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 112 just west of Walleye Lane. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

0956 - Deputy Webber assisted Giddings PD with a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Main and Independence.

1017 - A caller reported an 18-wheeler lost control and hit a tree on Hwy 77 south of Lexington. The caller advised the driver was still in the vehicle but was unsure of injuries. Lee County EMS, Squad 1, and Lexington Fire were paged out. Deputy Webber was first on scene and advised driver was okay. A wrecker was called to pull the vehicle out of the ditch. The highway was shutdown long enough to pull the vehicle out. Deputies L. Brown, Strouth and Webber provided traffic control. Trooper McCoy took the crash report.

2140 - A caller reported a vehicle speeding all around Lexington. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded to the area but were unable to locate the described vehicle.

2156 - Giddings PD requested assistance at a domestic disturbance on Brenham Street. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley and Trooper Pennartz responded to assist.

2039 - A complainant reported loud music in the area of 4th and Giddings Street. Deputies Dudley and Dickerson responded to the area but were unable to locate any loud music.

  

September 21, 2022

0128 - A caller reported dogs in the area barking constantly and requested a Deputy check the area to make sure no one was outside the homes. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded, searched the area but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

0606 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 near Silver Spur Ranch. Deputy Haman responded.

0625 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 290 West traveling past the Sheriff's Posse Fair Grounds.  The caller advised that the vehicle crashed in front of FunTown RV. Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Haman and Giddings PD responded. Giddings PD took the crash report.

1025 - The Lee County Clerk's Office requested a citation posting. Deputy Haman responded.

1030 - A previous complainant called the Sheriff's Office to follow up on a scam case. Sergeant McAnally responded and met with complainant at the residence.

1205 - A caller reported a suspicious subject on FM 141 between CR 116 and CR 117. Deputy Haman responded and located the subjects. They were working in the area.

1530 - A subject came into the Sheriff's Office with a Driver License that was found. Sergeant McAnally responded and took a report.

1940 - An employee of Bubba's Travel Center called concerning a subject lying in a vehicle behind the store. Deputy Young responded; subject was gone upon Deputy Young's arrival.

 

September 22, 2022

0059 - Deputy Young came upon 3 cows in the roadway on CR 306. Deputy Young removed the cows from the roadway.

0640 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114. Sergeant Haman responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1214 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office to speak to a Deputy about a theft. Deputy Haman responded.

1228 - A caller reported a cow in the ditch near the Lutheran Church on Hwy 21. Deputy Webber responded.

1305 - Sergeant McAnally was out with an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 77 south near CR 223. Vehicle was tagged and was safely off the roadway.

1600 - A caller reported a horse lying down in a pasture on CR 118 that looked skinny and asked a Deputy to check it out.  Sergeant McAnally responded.

1739 - A complainant advised that a family member was making threats and was on his way to the residence on FM 2440. The complainant was waiting at a different location for the deputy. Deputy Young responded.

1755 - A caller asked for assistance with changing a blown tire. Sergeant Ray responded and the vehicle was cleared from the roadway.

1756 - A complainant advised a neighbor caught kids trespassing in a house on Dickson in Lexington. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. All the children were returned to their family.

1840 - A complainant called to report an ex-boyfriend was sending threatening messages. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded and an information report was taken.

1920 - A caller reported 2 horses in the roadway on CR 305. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

2155 - A caller reported 2 cows in the roadway on CR 430 near CR 117. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful. Deputy J. Brown responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2248 - A caller reported 4-6 cows in the roadway on CR 134 near CR 114. Corporal West responded and removed the livestock from the roadway.

2255 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office to speak with a Deputy regarding 2 subjects on complainant's property on CR 111. Deputy J. Brown responded and subjects advised they would be leaving the property.

  

September 23, 2022

0303 - Deputy Young advised of a suspicious vehicle on CR 124 near the county line. The vehicle was occupied by two subjects, who were identified and released.

0443 - A caller reported a house fire on Polk Street. All occupants were out of the building. Fire, EMS and Giddings PD were notified. Deputy J. Brown responded to assist.

0800 - A caller reported a one vehicle accident on Hwy 21. No injuries were reported but there was fence damage. Deputy L. Brown responded and took information for crash report.

0954 - A caller reported a herd of cattle that appeared to be starving. Deputy L. Brown responded and advised the cattle had plenty of food and water.

1400 - Deputy Strouth conducted a traffic stop on FM 696 west. The driver of the vehicle had an expired driver license and an active parole warrant. The driver was taken into custody and booked into Lee County Jail.

1640 - A caller reported a cow walking around the parking lot on Westwood Lane.  Sergeant Jones located the cow and it ran off into a wooded area. Sergeant Jones spoke with caller and was going to contact the owner of the cow.

1726 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 290 west of the Sheriff's Posse Arena. Sergeant Jones located the cow and removed it of the roadway. It was the same cow reported earlier.

1815 - Deputy L. Brown advised an 18-wheeler was disabled on the side of the roadway on Hwy 77 north. Vehicle was moved, all was okay.

2017 - A caller reported a suspicious person on the side of Hwy 77 north. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded but were unable to locate anyone.

 

September 24, 2022

0245 - A complainant called 911 to report a female subject hit the complainant and they were involved in a verbal altercation. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded.  A CTW was issued to the female subject.

0724 - A caller reported 3 head of cattle out on CR 309 west of the Adina Church. Deputy L. Brown checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0931 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to file a theft report. Two rifles were found missing from a residence in Dime Box. Both rifles were entered into TCIC and NCIC and a report made. The case was referred to CID.

0952 - A caller reported two puppies near CR 320. They were seen chasing cattle and causing problems. Deputy Strouth responded and located one of the puppies. Deputy Strouth made contact with Lexington Animal Control in an attempt to locate the owner. The puppy was chipped and its owner was identified with the Animal Shelter returning the dog to its owner.

1056 - A complainant requested a Deputy to FM 180 because of issues with a neighbor over easement and property lines. The complainant advised there was already a report with Deputy Haman and with a court date having been set. Sergeant Jones and Deputy L. Brown met with both parties and they will deal with the issue when they appear in court.

1105 - Deputy Strouth came across a vehicle in the lane of traffic on Hwy 21 west of FM 3403. The driver advised she was having car trouble and her husband was on his way to assist. Deputy Strouth followed the driver to Bubba's Truck Stop until help arrived.

1158 - Deputy Strouth checked out with a male subject walking on the shoulder of FM 3403 near CR 446. Subject advised he was on his way to a friend's house. Deputy Strouth gave a courtesy ride to the residence he was walking to.

1346 - A caller reported a truck pulling a cattle trailer hauling livestock on Hwy 77 going southbound passing CR 114 that was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Deputy L. Brown responded, located and stopped the vehicle near Giddings High School. Driver advised Deputy Brown that cattle had moved to the back of the trailer causing the trailer to sway.  All checked out okay.

1433 - A caller reported a vehicle had rear ended her vehicle and they were both pulled over on Hwy 290 near CR 238. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded and a crash report was taken.

1552 - Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown assisted Giddings PD with a call of shots fired in the area of Hwy 77 and FM 448.

1604 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to report a theft that took place in June. Information was taken by Sergeant Jones and information was forwarded to CID.

1729 - Sergeant Jones conducted a follow up to the call at 1552 hours and discovered a homeless camp near the area off of FM 448 west of Cuero near the railroad tracks. Sergeant Jones requested assistance and Giddings PD, as well as all Lee County units responded. Shell casings and boxes of empty ammunition were found. Sergeant Jones advised they found gear, tents, chairs, and a bag with a name on it but no one was on scene.

1905 - A caller advised a disabled vehicle was on Hwy 77 south near the curve and it was partially in the roadway. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded. Sergeant Holloway drove all the way to the county line but was unable to locate a disable vehicle.

2008 - Deputy Dickerson advised a male subject was lying in the ditch on Hwy 77. All Lee County units responded. Subject checked out okay and was given a courtesy ride to Caldwell by Sergeant Holloway.

2026 - A complainant called reporting a noise complaint on Oakwood Drive. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded but were unable to locate any loud noises.

2112 - A caller reported a cow in the roadway near CR 327. Sergeant Holloway responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

September 25, 2022

0004 - Trooper McCoy advised of a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at the Travel Plaza. All units went enroute for assistance. A male and a female passenger were in possession of a controlled substance. Subjects were taken into custody and booked into Lee County Jail.

 0753 - A caller reported a two vehicle accident on Hwy 21 east of CR 103. Both vehicles were reported to be off the roadway but unsure of injuries. Lee County EMS and Lincoln Fire were paged out. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded. Lincoln Fire was first on scene and reported no injuries. Vehicles were towed and a crash report was taken.

0808 - A caller reported a large dog loose in the Lexington City Park. Deputy L. Brown responded but was unable to locate the dog.

1010 - Burleson County transferred a 911 caller who advised while walking the trail at Lake Somerville, her dog overheated and she could not carry the dog to her car as it was too far away. Deputy L. Brown responded and advised the gate was locked so he proceeded on foot to where subject and dog were located. Deputy Brown gave them water. EMS was paged out and staged at the entrance. Park Rangers met with caller and Deputy Brown at the 5 mile marker and drove the caller and her dog back to the entrance where she could be evaluated by EMS.

1049 - A caller reported loose cattle on CR 114. Sergeant Jones responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1416 - A caller reported a vehicle swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 77 north traveling southbound passing FM 3403. Deputy L. Brown located and stopped the vehicle, detained the driver and conducted a PC search. Deputy Brown requested an additional unit; Deputy Strouth responded.

1819 - Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley came across a trailer broke down in the lane of traffic on Hwy 77 south. Subject was okay and given a ride to Buccee's and then taken back to the vehicle where subject was able to get back on the roadway.

1901 - A complainant reported someone had run through his fence. Deputy Dickerson responded to the scene, met with complainant and a report was taken.

1943 - A caller reported a calf out on FM 1697 and FM 141. Sergeant Holloway responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2209 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 290 headed eastbound about to leave the city limits.  All deputies notified of the vehicle description but were unable to locate the vehicle.
