September 12 - September 18, 2022

 

September 12, 2022

0022 - A caller was concerned about a family member and requested Deputies come to the residence on CR 454. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dudley and L. Brown responded. A subject was barricaded in the house with possible weapon. Deputies on scene made contact with the subject and he was taken into custody.

0138 - A caller reported 2 cows out on FM 619 near the Williamson County Line. Deputy L. Brown responded to the area.

1017 - A caller requested help with a rattlesnake under her vehicle. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber responded. The snake was removed.

1348 - A 911 call was received stating that her brother was being shot at by a passing vehicle. The brother was fine but his camper was shot. The caller stated the vehicle was headed west on CR 304. The information was passed on to Bastrop County.  All available Lee County units responded to the scene.  At 1545, Lieutenant Mastronardi requested a wrecker pick up the vehicle at the Valero Station in Elgin where suspects involved in the shooting were being detained by Elgin PD. Deputy Webber had 2 male subjects in custody and Captain Allen had 1 female subject in custody.

1545 - A caller reported a verbal disturbance on Meadow Run Road in Elgin. Sergeant McAnally responded.

1936 - A complainant called stating someone had been messing with complainant's vehicle on FM 180. Deputy Young responded and all checked out okay.                                                                                                                                                   

September 13, 2022

0057 - A caller reported an accident with a deer on FM 696. Corporal West, Deputies Young and J. Brown responded. A crash report was taken.

0755 - A caller reported 4 cows out on FM 1697 near FM 180. Sergeant McAnally responded.

0930 - A caller reported cows out on CR 208. Sheriff Goetz responded.

1236 - A complainant who had a safety concern requested a Deputy come to the residence.  Sergeant McAnally and Constable Stephens responded to the residence.

1340 - A complainant contacted the Sheriff's Office to make a theft report. Sergeant McAnally took the report.

1510 - Washington County called in a BOLO on a stolen vehicle headed west on Hwy 290. All units were advised. Sergeant McAnally located the vehicle on US 290 and stopped the vehicle. One male subject was taken into custody.

1655 - A caller reported 4 cows out on FM 180. Deputy Webber responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1839 - Multiple callers reported cows out on FM 1697 west of FM 180. Deputy Young responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock. Deputy Young did identify a possible area in the fence that livestock could get out.

2224 - A caller reported 5-6 cows out on CR 114 near Hwy 77. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

2238 - Trooper Pennartz called out a traffic stop on Hwy 290 west near CR 205. Subject was being taken into custody. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the scene to pick up 2 dogs that were in the car with the subject.

  

September 14, 2022

0041 - A 911 caller reported a male subject was sitting on the side of Hwy 290 near CR 139 waving his arms. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the location but were unable to locate the subject.

0123 - A 911 caller reported someone breaking into her vehicle on CR A. Corporal West, Deputies Young and J. Brown responded. All checked out okay.

0331 - A 2 vehicle accident on Austin and Orange Street was reported. Giddings PD, Fire and EMS were dispatched. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to assist, if needed.

0408 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 114. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded, located and secured the cow off the roadway.

0930 - A caller reported a calf out on Hwy 21 across from Elm Creek Café. Deputy L. Brown responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1633 - A complainant on Oakwood Drive in Elgin reported a pack of loose dogs attacking livestock. Captain Allen spoke with complainant.

1635 - A caller reported a verbal disturbance on Kay Street. Deputy Webber and Giddings PD responded. Verbal disturbance only, all units back in service.

1657 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 141 near Dube Ranch. Deputy Webber responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1837 - A complainant reported hearing shooting coming from 5th Street in Lexington. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley made contacts with subjects shooting, who stated they had permission. Sergeant Holloway advised them to contact Lexington PD the next morning and speak with Chief Garza. Subjects were no longer shooting.

1848 - A caller reported that he hit a cow yesterday morning on FM 180 and FM 1697. Sergeant Holloway made contact with the caller regarding the accident.

2022 - A caller reported cows out on FM 1697 and FM 180. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley searched the area but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

September 15, 2022

0724 - Sheriff Goetz reported a two vehicle accident at Orange and Independence Street. No injuries reported but both vehicles were in the roadway. Giddings PD responded and the scene was handed over to them.

0741 - Deputy L. Brown responded to a report of cows out on CR 114. Deputy Brown located the cows and secured them off the roadway.

0818 - A caller reported cows out on FM 1697 near the Washington County Line. Deputy L. Brown responded and removed the cows from the roadway.

1244 - A caller reported 3 cows out on FM 180 and FM 1697. Deputy Webber checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1303 - A caller reported gun fire near Bowers Avenue. Captain Allen, Deputies Webber and L. Brown responded. Pct. 4 Constable was first on scene and checked the area. He advised no gunfire was heard.

1328 - A complainant called to speak with a Deputy regarding issues with a neighbor and property lines. Deputy L. Brown contacted complainant and issue was resolved for now. Advised it was a civil matter.

1514 - A business owner on Hwy 77 requested a Deputy be present when a subject came to pick up belongings left behind. Captain Allen and Deputy L. Brown responded. The issue was resolved.

1935 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 213. Sergeant Holloway responded and put the cow up. A patch job was made on the fence.

2033 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 near the Silver Spur Ranch. Deputy Dudley responded and removed several cows from the roadway. Several more called were received throughout the night for the same location. The owner was notified and advised they would be out to check the fences.

2041 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 430 near CR 424. Sergeant Holloway responded and checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2156 - A caller reported cows out on CR 114 near Silver Spur Ranch. Deputy Dudley responded and cows were removed from the roadway.

 

September 16, 2022

0904 - A complainant contacted the Sheriff's Office about a stolen RV. Sergeant McAnally spoke with complainant and a report was taken.

1053 - A caller reported 2 cows out on CR 317 close to CR 112. Sergeant McAnally went enroute but was notified that owner put the cows up before he made scene.

1212 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to file a report on a missing bull. Sergeant McAnally responded to the office and a report was taken.

1232 - A caller reported some cows on Hwy 290 East that looked to be in bad shape. Sergeant McAnally responded to the location but was unable to locate the cows.

1240 - Giddings PD requested assistance on a civil disturbance on Liberty Trail. Sergeant McAnally and Trooper McCoy responded.

1340 - County Clerk's Office requested a Deputy to post a citation. Deputy Webber responded.

1600 - A caller reported an abandoned vehicle on CR 117. Sergeant McAnally responded and the vehicle was red tagged. Vehicle had a flat tire and was off the roadway.

1850 - Multiple 911 calls were received reporting a major accident on FM 696 west near Blue Fire Department. Corporal West, Deputies Young and J. Brown, and Trooper Pennartz responded, along with Fire and EMS.  Crash report was taken by DPS. Both vehicles were picked up and roadway cleared.

 

September 17, 2022

0017 - Trooper Pennartz advised of a traffic stop on Hwy 290 East at the city limit. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to assist. One male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and booked into Lee County Jail.

0850 - A caller reported cows out on FM 1624 going towards Fedor.  Caller stated it looked like the gate was open. Deputy Haman responded.

0855 - A caller reported cows out on Hwy 77 north between CR 412 and Spring Branch Creek. Sergeant McAnally responded.

1335 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to speak to a Deputy about a possible scam. Sergeant McAnally responded.

1435 - A complainant called requesting to speak to a Deputy about his property on FM 180. Deputy Haman responded and took an information report.

1530 - A 911 call was received stating someone hit an electrical pole near PR 3023. Bluebonnet Electric was notified and Sergeant McAnally, Deputies Haman and Terpstra responded.

1645 - A complainant requested a civil standby on Hwy 77 as a male subject was going to remove belongings from the property. Sergeant McAnally went enroute. Complainant called back and advised subject was not able to go to location at this time; Sergeant McAnally no longer enroute. Once Deputy Young came on duty he responded to location and a report was made for threat of bodily injury and CTW was issued to subject.

1724 - Sergeant McAnally made a traffic stop on Hwy 77. Trooper Pennartz, Deputies Haman and Terpstra went to the location and assisted. One subject was arrested for an out of county warrant and second subject was arrested for possession of marijuana; both subjects were booked into Lee County Jail.

1920 - A caller reported 2 cows out on CR 430 and CR 117. Deputy Young responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock. An attempt was made to contact the owner.

1930 - Washington County advised a subject in a vehicle was wanted in their county for unauthorized use of motor vehicle and was traveling westbound on Hwy 290. All units were notified but were unable to locate the described vehicle.

2029 - A caller reported a vehicle crash on CR 307. Driver was out of the vehicle and appeared to be okay. Corporal West, Deputy J. Brown and Trooper Pennartz responded.

2116 - A 911 call was received reporting an 18-wheeler that had a strap hanging and dragging in the roadway on Hwy 21. Sergeant Ray was in the area and but did not locate the reported vehicle. The information was passed on to Bastrop County.

2125 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on CR 134 and CR 114. Vehicle had been parked on the side of the road for a few hours. Deputy Young responded to the area but was unable to locate the described vehicle.

2156 - Several callers reported a noise disturbance at Willow Creek Drive and Trail Side Drive in Elgin. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded.  Owner advised there was a wedding and would turn the music down; everything was okay.

2344 - Trooper Pennartz advised of a traffic stop on Hwy 290 near Altman Plants. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to assist. Driver was arrested for DUI and booked into Lee County Jail.

 

September 18, 2022

0200 - A caller reported cows in the roadway on CR 114 near CR 134. Sergeant Ray responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0855 - A caller reported a female subject lying on the side of Hwy 77 near 3404. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded. Subject was okay and given a courtesy ride to Lexington.

1015 - Deputy Haman removed debris from the Hwy 141.

1021 - Sergeant McAnally was out with loose livestock on CR 430 north of 117. Sergeant McAnally put the cows up and attempted to patch the fence.

1119 - Sergeant McAnally was out with a loose horse on FM 180. The horse was put up.

1200 - A request for a Deputy to standby while a repo was done was received. Subject refused to answer the door.

1633 - A caller reported a fire on Bellville Street. Giddings Fire, Giddings PD and Deputy Haman responded.

1710 - A 911 call was received reporting a loud bang and several cars on the side of Hwy 21 and CR 440. All Sheriff's Office Units responded.

1840 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office requesting to file a restraining order. Sergeant Ray spoke with complainant and advised the issue would need to be taken up with the court.

1903 - A caller reported a disturbance on Bowers Avenue. Deputies Young and J. Brown responded. Upon arrival one subject had left the scene and the subject on scene was identified and found to have an active warrant. The subject was arrested and booked into Lee County Jail.
