August 22, 2022

0420 - A 911 call was received stating there was an 18-wheeler flipped over in the ditch with lumbar blocking the entire roadway; driver was trapped and injured. All units responded, including EMS and Fire. Roadway was completely shut down and traffic redirected. Crash report taken.

1503 - A 911 call was received reporting 2 cows out on C 430 near the Railroad Tracks. Deputy Strouth responded, located the cows and put them up at Mendoza Ranch. Deputy Strouth also attempted to fix the fence.

1717 - A caller reported a vehicle lost control and hit a guard rail on Hwy 77 south across from the South Forty RV Park. Caller advised driver is okay and able to move the vehicle off the roadway. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded. No damage was observed to the guard rail and Deputy Strouth followed the driver into Giddings.

1728 - Deputy L. Brown was flagged down by a motorist that ran off the roadway on Hwy 77 at CR 455. The driver was stuck and requested a wrecker to get him out.

1730 - Sergeant Holloway was flagged down by a motorist who reported cow out on CR 430 near the Railroad Tracks. Sergeant Holloway checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1746 - A caller reported a Lexington School Bus broke down at the intersection of FM 696 and 112. A deputy was requested for traffic control and the school had someone was enroute to pick up the bus. Sergeant Holloway responded and checked the area; vehicle was picked up prior to his arrival.

1900 - A caller reported a vehicle going eastbound on Hwy 21 unable to maintain a single lane of travel. Sergeant Holloway responded to the area but was unable to locate the described vehicle.

2328 - Two callers reported a vehicle in the ditch near Jigsaw Weapons. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies L. Brown, Dickerson and Dudley responded. EMS was called for possible medical issue.  Subject was checked by EMS but not transported. Beer was found in the vehicle; male subject was arrested and booked into Lee County Jail.

 

August 23, 2022

0354 - Washington County advised of a pursuit coming into Lee County. Subject was part of a pursuit that ended with him running. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded along with Giddings PD Units. Giddings PD set up spike strips but the vehicle went around them and into oncoming traffic. Driver continued westbound on Hwy 290 with Waller County Deputy and Washington County Deputy in pursuit. Pursuit was terminated at Bastrop County Line. Bastrop County had been notified and pursued until terminated at Travis County Line.

0951 - A caller reported someone burning a large brush pile on FM 3403 just off of Hwy 21. Deputy Webber located the burn pile and spoke with property owner. Owner was given a warning and put the fire out.

1307 - A caller reported a rollover accident on Hwy 21 east of CR 426. Caller reported a tanker truck lost control and rolled into the ditch. Debris, crude oil and diesel were on the roadway. Lee County EMS, Dime Box VFD, and Giddings VFD were paged out. Sergeant Jones, Deputies Webber and Strouth responded to provide traffic control. Lee County EMS transported driver. Express was called out to pick up the vehicle. Dime Box remained on scene for traffic control. Hazmat Team arrived to clean up the spill. DPS took crash report.

1720 - A caller reported 5-6 head of cattle on a property located on CR 309 that looked to be in poor condition. There is no hay and very little water. Sergeant Jones located the cattle and they have sufficient water and grass.

1950 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 1624 near a red barn. Deputy Dudley responded.

2151 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 141 near PR 1413. Deputy Dudley was responding when call back received advising cow went back inside the fence.

2212 - A 911 call was received from a female subject stating she was in the woods on CR 331. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson, Dudley, and L. Brown and Trooper Janda responded to the location. Once on scene, all personnel went on foot searching for and locating the subject. Dispatch relayed that subject had an active warrant out of Lee County. Subject was first transported to St. Marks by EMS with Deputy L. Brown along to be checked out. Subject was cleared by the hospital and booked into Lee County Jail.

 

August 24, 2022

0248 - A security company called with an alarm at a business in Lexington. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded. Both units advised everything was secure and okay.

1325 - A hospital in Bryan reported a stray cat bite that occurred on CR 326. Deputy Haman went enroute. A voicemail was left for injured party to contact Deputy Haman.

1958 - A caller reported 2 cows out on FM 1692 near FM 141. Sergeant Ray responded to the location but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2008 - A caller reported a calf out on CR 220 approximately 1 mile from Hwy 77. Sergeant Ray responded to the location after finishing previous call but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2023 - A 911 call was received and male subject asked who he called and when notified it was 911 he hung up. Dispatch called the number back and subject stated there was no emergency but Dispatch heard voice that sounded like an argument. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the location on Hwy 290 east. Everything was okay, no action taken.

2350 - A trooper out of Burleson County advised of a pursuit with a motorcycle that was west of Hwy 21 on CR 376 heading westbound. Burleson County lost sight of vehicle and terminated. All units notified and in the area on Hwy 21 in an attempt to locate the described vehicle.

2355 - A caller reported noise and suspicious activity near the boat ramp at Nails Creek State Park. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the location given but were unable to locate anything/anyone.

 

August 25, 2022

0400 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to file a report of domestic violence. Complainant stated offense did not occur in this County. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown met with complainant in the Sheriff's Office Lobby and an information report was taken. Complainant was advised to make a report in the county the offense occurred in.

0820 - A caller reported a calf out on the side of Hwy 290 east of Altman Plants. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0830 - A caller reported a calf out next to his driveway on CR 431. Deputy Haman responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0908 - A caller reported 6 or more cows out on CR 413 off of CR 412. Sergeant McAnally responded and cows were removed from the roadway.

1320 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 220. Deputy Haman responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1730 - A caller reported a vehicle partially pulled over on Hwy 21, in the lane of traffic, just west of Yegua Creek. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown searched the area but were unable to locate the described vehicle.

1732 - A complainant on FM 141 called and is missing 2 calves and requested a deputy. Sergeant Ray made contact with the complainant.

1932 - A caller reported 2 rams running around on Hwy 290 just pass the Bowling Alley. Sergeant Ray searched the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1940 - A complainant reported a male subject being aggressive towards her on Hester Street. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the scene. No offense had taken place and male subject is gathering his property and leaving. At 2026, deputies were requested again on Hester Street because male subject was again being aggressive. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown went back to residence.

1919 - A caller reported an 18-wheeler roll over on FM 1697 about 2 miles off of FM 141. Driver is pinned in. Trooper Janda, Sergeant Ray, Dime Box Fire, Giddings Fire, and Lee County EMS were dispatched. The driver was extracted and taken by EMS to the hospital. DPS took crash report.

2212 - A complainant reported yelling coming from the neighbor's house on Gary Street. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. Parties were able to work their issues out.

2335 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 21 near CR 327. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown located the cow and removed it from the roadway.

 

August 26, 2022

0653 - A 911 call was received reporting a cow out on Hwy 21 near CR 454. Deputy Strouth checked the area.

0655 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 290 near CR 105.

0710 - Deputy Strouth checked out on a vehicle parked on the side of Hwy 21 near the radio tower. Deputy Strouth made contact with driver who is doing work on the radio tower, all is okay.

0955 - A caller on CR 326 reported she was bitten by a stray cat. The caller found the cat and contained it. Deputy Strouth made contact with caller who will release the cat to the vet and send pictures to Deputy Strouth for a report.

1423 - A delivery driver for Amazon reported that, while making a delivery, she was attacked by 3 dogs and bitten. Owner of the dogs came out of the residence and told her to leave. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded and met with both parties. Information was taken for a report.

1537 - Deputy Webber was out with a motorist on the side of the road that was not feeling well. Deputy Webber requested EMS to check on motorist.

1532 - A caller reported a large piece of debris in the middle of Hwy 77 south of CR 410. Deputy Strouth removed the debris from the roadway.

1945 - A caller reported a cow out on 141 and 430. Deputy Dickerson responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1920 - Several callers reported cows out on 141 near Nails Creek Bridge. Sergeant Holloway responded and located the owner who removed the cattle from the roadway.

2000 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 214 off of FM 448. Deputies L. Brown and Dudley responded and cow went into the field.

2023 - A caller advised a car was on the side of the road with 2 subjects. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley checked out with the subject. They were having trouble with a tire and tow truck was call to tow the vehicle.

2104 - Sergeant Holloway responded to assist Giddings PD with a disturbance on Independence Street.

2133 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 21 near 440. Sergeant Holloway responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2210 - Deputy Dickerson attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle going over 100 mph and had unreadable plates going westbound on Hwy 290 near Altman Plants. Motorcycle continued traveling westbound at a high rate of speed, not stopping for Deputy Dickerson. Deputies Dickerson, Dudley and Trooper Janda pursued motorcycle and terminate pursuit after traveling into Bastrop County.

2300 - Deputy Dickerson conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 and South Waco. 2 male subjects were arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to Lee County Jail by Deputy L. Brown.

2320 - A caller reported a cow out on 214 again. Sergeant Holloway responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2337 - A caller reported his barn on fire. Blue FD was notified and requested assistance from Lexington FD, fire was put out. Blue FD Chief requested a deputy process a report because homeowner thought it may have been intentionally set. Sergeant Holloway advised homeowner he would take pictures and make a report.

 

August 27, 2022

0713 - A caller reported 2 calves out at FM 3403 and CR 446. Reserve Deputy Terpstra responded but unable to locate any loose livestock.

0826 - A complainant reported an AC unit stolen from a site he was setting up. Deputy Strouth responded and took a report.

0956 - Reserve Deputy Terpstra assisted Giddings PD with civil standby on Ellis Street.

0957 - Deputy Strouth assisted Giddings PD with an accident involving 2 vehicles on Hwy 290 east at Super 8 Motel.  No injuries reported and no rotation needed. Giddings PD took crash report.

1038 - A caller reported a vehicle with the hood up in caller's driveway and 2-3 male subjects could be seen. Deputy Strouth checked out with subjects whose vehicle was broken down and they had help on the way.

1222 - A caller reported debris in the roadway on Hwy 290 east. Reserve Deputy Terpstra located and removed the debris.

1704 - Deputy Terpstra checked on a damaged fence where a vehicle ran through it on Hwy 77. No known time of when damage occurred and no vehicle parts left behind. An information report was taken.

1746 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to report possibly stolen calve from CR 223. Deputy Strouth met with complainant and a report taken.

2024 - A caller reported a herd of cows on caller's property. Deputy Dickerson spoke with property owner who was already checking with the surrounding neighbors. Caller called again and advised cows were no longer on the property.

2143 - A caller reported cows out on Hwy 21 and 77. Deputies Dickerson, Dudley and L. Brown responded, along with Sergeant Holloway. No loose livestock were located.

2219 - Brinks Security reported an alarm on CR 309. All units responded. Dispatch contacted Brinks Security to obtain a gate code. Company did not have the information and was unable to make contact with the property owner. Sergeant Holloway advised they were unable to make entry on the property.

2357 - A complainant reported that a male subject had permission to stay on the property on CR 111 while work was being done. Work is finished and complainant asked subject to leave but he refuses. Deputies Dudley and L. Brown responded.

 

August 28, 2022

0223 - A caller reported a 2 vehicle accident on FM 141 near 1697, a water tanker and another vehicle both hit a cow.  Vehicles are off the roadway but cow is not. Trooper Janda, Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dudley and L. Brown responded. TXDOT was notified to remove the cow from the roadway.

0322 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 114 on the east side of Hwy 77. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies L. Brown and Dudley responded.

???? - Deputy Strouth assisted Trooper Pennartz with a traffic stop and PC search on Hwy 290 west. Subject was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail.

0959 - A caller reported a control burn violation on Hwy 77 in the Tanglewood Area. Tanglewood Brush and Captain Allen responded. Captain Allen advised owner that burn ban had not been lifted and fire was put out.

1048 - Blue VFD toned to Willow Creek area for a control burn violation. Fire was located and put out by the Fire Department. Captain Allen and Deputy Strouth responded to the scene and owner was advised of burn ban.

1209 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 141 walking towards Hwy 21. Deputy Strouth responded. Another second call was received about cow out. Owner was on scene upon Deputy Strouth's arrival and had cows safely pinned.

1215 - A caller reported a vehicle on the side of the road at Harry Street and Hwy 77. The driver had notified a resident nearby that he had hit a deer and left the vehicle. Emergency contact was located and Deputy Strouth attempted to make contact with no answer. Deputy Strouth confirmed vehicle was off the roadway.

1220 - Captain Allen responded to CR B concerning shots being fired unsafely.  A complainant reported shots flew by where complainant was standing. Captain Allen checked the area and made contact with complainant. The source of gunfire was not located.

1638 - A 911 call was received reported a reckless driver from Bastrop County. Deputy Strouth and Giddings PD received dispatch. Giddings PD located and stopped the vehicle on Hwy 77. Giddings PD conducted PC search and Deputy Strouth cleared scene.

1752 - A 911 call was received from a location on CR 315.  When number was called back it came back as disconnected. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Strouth, Dudley and Dickerson responded.

1932 - A caller reported a vehicle at CR 326 just off of Hwy 21 with motor running and male subject sitting in vehicle unresponsive. EMS was notified and Deputies Dickerson, Dudley, L. Brown and Trooper Janda responded. GPD canine unit was requested. Male subject was advised to rest at a store nearby.
