August 15, 2022

0013 - LIFE360 requested a deputy on Rockdale in Lexington for a mobile panic alarm. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded. The address given did not exist but deputies went to several homes in the area but were unable to locate anything. Alarm Company was contacted and advised they would try to resolve the issue.

0107 - A caller advised he saw a car on the side of CR 619 near FM 696 with a headlight out. Caller advised there was a female inside with her head slumped over, he knocked on the window and asked if she was okay, she gave a thumbs up. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded to the location. A report was taken and an arrest made.

0658 - A caller reported cows on the roadway near PR 1181. Deputy Haman responded and cows were put up off the roadway. Owners were contacted.

0704 - A caller reported cows out on Hwy 77 near CR 712. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0758 - A caller reported 3 cows in the roadway on CR 430 in Dime Box. Sergeant McAnally responded and located cows out on CR 117 and removed them from the roadway. Owners were contacted.

0802 - A caller reported a loose horse on the side of FM 3404. Deputy Haman responded but was unable to locate the horse.

1019 - A caller reported cows out on FM 3404. Captain Allen and Deputy Haman responded and located 3 cows and secured them off the roadway.

1326 - An emergency signal was received advising a vehicle needed assistance on Hwy 77. Sergeants Adams and McAnally responded to the location but were unable to locate the vehicle.

2056 - A caller reported a cow in the roadway near Hwy 21 in Dime Box. Another caller advised it was near CR 440. Deputy Young responded and checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2119 - A caller reported 6-8 cows in the roadway on FM 2239 near the Bastrop County Line. Sergeant Ray responded, located the cows, and ran them onto property on CR 205.

2226 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 21 near PR 8021. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to the location but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

August 16, 2022

0650 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 114 between PR 1142 and PR 1143. Sergeant McAnally responded and removed the cow from the roadway.

0822 - A caller reported 6-7 cows on his property that did not belong to him. Deputy Haman responded to the location and was able to contact the owner; who will remove the cows.

0924 - A caller reported a grass fire on FM 3403. Lexington Fire responded and then requested a deputy come to the scene. Captain Allen, Sergeant McAnally, Deputies Haman and Webber responded due to possible disturbance at location. Everything was okay.

0925 - A caller reported a trash truck hit the awning at Peterson's Grocery and kept driving south on Hwy 77. Captain Allen located and stopped the truck. Captain Allen followed the truck back to Peterson's Grocery and took an information report.

1338 - A caller reported a hay bale blocking the road. Deputy Webber responded along with Captain Allen and Deputy Haman. TXDOT was called to the scene to assist clearing the roadway.

1918 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 290 approximately a mile west of the Fair Grounds. Deputies Young and Haman responded. The cow ran into brush and off the roadway.

2008 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 180 between CR 131 and CR 119. Deputy Young responded and located 3 cows out in the area. Landowner made scene and helped secure the cows.

2017 - A complainant reported a male subject pushed and hit her. After being on the phone she stated she was struggling to breath and laid on the ground next to a vehicle. Corporal West, Deputy J. Brown and EMS responded to the scene. Complainant denied EMS once on scene. Deputy J. Brown advised male subject was no longer on scene. The complainant did not want to file a report.

2054 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 180 near CR 132. Deputy Young responded to the location but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2355 - A caller reported 3 cows out near FM 1697 and CR 124. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock. Caller called back and advised they were in Burleson County.

 

August 17, 2022

0758 - A caller reported a male subject standing on the east side of the bridge on FM 112. Caller stated subject has been there for a number of days. Deputy Strouth responded and located and identified the subject. Deputy Strouth gave him a ride to the Shell station on Hwy 290 at FM 696 west.

0848 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 2239 near PR 6004. Deputy Webber responded and secured the cow off the roadway.

1534 - A complainant wanted to report harassment. A male subject has been contacting the family by texts. Subject has been told several times not to contact them. Deputy Strouth contacted complainant and a report was taken.

1542 - A caller reported someone burning on CR 132. Post Oak VFD was paged out and responded. Deputies Strouth and Webber also responded to find about 1 acre burned.

1557 - Sergeant Jones attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by 4 subjects; 2 males and 2 females. Vehicle fled down side streets until coming to a stop on Leon Street. All subjects in the vehicle were identified and truck was confirmed stolen out of Burleson County. The driver was taken into custody for a local warrant and booked into Lee County Jail. Vehicle was towed to the Sheriff's Office.

1838 - A caller reported cows out on CR 430 near 426. Deputies Dickerson and L. Brown secured cows back on the property.

2018 - A 911 call was received reporting a disturbance. Deputies Dickerson, Dudley and L. Brown responded. Male subject was arrested and booked into Lee County Jail.

2055 - A caller reported that a vehicle went through a fence and hit a barn. No injuries were reported but roadway is blocked. Blue Fire Department, a DPS Trooper and Deputy Dudley responded. Caller advised that honey bees were housed in the barn all responding units stayed back. Male subject was out of the vehicle and safe. The trooper arrested the subject for DWI.

 

August 18, 2022

0219 - A caller reported a female subject knocked on his door on Hwy 21 and said a family member was hurt and she needed assistance. Deputies Dickerson, Dudley and L. Brown responded. Female had a warrant out of Frio County but was not confirmed by that agency as they were not extraditing at the time. The family members were okay.

0701 - A caller reported a male subject asleep next to the train tracks on CR 200. Deputy Strouth responded and located the subject; he was okay and will be leaving the area soon.

0808 - A caller reported hitting a deer on CR 210; vehicle has minor damage and deer appears to be injured. Deputy Webber responded to the scene. Deputy Webber advised driver to fill out a blue form for the accident and the deer ran off into the woods.

0808 - A caller reported horses out on CR 133 near CR 116. Deputy Strouth responded to the location and removed the horses from the roadway.

1108 - Milam County Sheriff's Office called to report a car hauler heading southbound on Hwy 77; something came off the vehicle and hit a vehicle behind it breaking the windshield. A trooper was enroute to meet the driver who had pulled over with broken windshield. Deputy Webber located and stopped the car hauler on Hwy 77 at Hwy 21 and had driver turn around and meet the Trooper to take a report.

1116 - A caller reported that her father's vehicle was broken down on the side of Hwy 290 across from Altmann Plants and that he was planning to move it later in the day; the caller received a phone call stating someone had been seen under the vehicle and requested a deputy check on it. Deputy Strouth located the vehicle and checked the area, no one was seen near it and all doors and windows were secure.

1643 - A 911 call was received reporting someone had come entered a residence on Williamson Street and attacked a caller's friend. Suspect was reported to be still on scene. Caller was transferred to Giddings PD. Chief Weltner, Captain Allen, Lieutenant Mastronardi, Sergeant Jones and Deputy Webber responded from the Sheriff's Office to assist Giddings PD. One subject was taken into custody and booked into Lee County Jail.

1855 - A complainant requested to speak with a deputy regarding someone trespassing and shooting across their property. Deputy Dudley responded and a report was taken.

1940 - A caller reported possible animal cruelty of a horse on CR 413. The horse looks to be in poor health, has an eye missing and a large mass can be seen. Deputy Dudley responded to the location but was unable to locate the horse on the property.

2020 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to report a female that had been living with them on CR 113 took some items from the residence and would like to make a theft report. Deputies Dickerson and L. Brown responded to the lobby. Deputy Brown spoke to the complainant then went to the Country Inn where the other party was staying and spoke with her. A report was taken.

 

August 19, 2022

0357 - A complainant reported a neighbor's dog continually barking. Deputy Dudley responded to the location but did not hear or locate the dog.

0717 - A 911 call was received reporting a 1 vehicle rollover on Hwy 77 south. Giddings Fire, EMS, Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Haman, and Trooper Pennartz were on scene. DPS took crash report.

0945 - Deputy Haman attempted civil service. Papers were served without incident.

1136 - A subject came into the office to retrieve his keys and truck on CR 308 where a previous crash had occurred. Captain Allen provided a civil standby at the location.

1405 - Deputy Haman attempted civil service. Papers were served without incident.

1435 - A complainant came into the office to report someone forging checks. Deputy Haman took a report.

1605 - A caller reported a stranded motorist on Hwy 77 south near CR 220 with the vehicle partially blocking the roadway. Captain Allen responded to assist.

1655 - A caller reported 4 calves on the side of Hwy 21 west near Lincoln. Deputy Haman responded to the location but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1725 - A caller reported a suspicious truck parked in his driveway; 1 male subject in the cab and 3 male subjects outside the truck. Deputy Haman went enroute. Caller called back stating vehicle left headed south on Hwy 77. A close patrol was requested for the residence.

1953 - Fayette County Dispatch transferred a 911 call for a rolling disturbance between a male and female subject, Dispatcher heard female say "help" then contact was lost. Vehicle was traveling northbound on Hwy 77, Dispatch stayed on open line and saw vehicle pass Ross's South Forty. All deputies were informed and went enroute. At 2000, the female dialed 911 again stating they were at the Exxon in Giddings and gave a description of the vehicle. Dispatch advised female to stay on the line and hide the phone, via 911 tracking the vehicle was observed traveling back on Hwy 77 going southbound. Giddings PD located and stopped the vehicle. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown also made scene.

2022 - A 911 call was received stating she was involved in a hit and run in the city limits of Giddings near East Austin. All Giddings units were tied up so Sergeant Ray went responded. Caller gave vehicle description of vehicle that hit her and advised vehicle was headed eastbound on Hwy 290. Washington County was notified.

2048 - A caller reported 6-8 cows out on FM 3403 near Hwy 77. Another caller reported that they were near the intersection of CR 446 on FM 3403. Sergeant Ray responded and cows were secured off the roadway.

2200 - A caller in Lexington reported neighbors were shooting fireworks near a very dry pasture on Hwy 77. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with persons shooting fireworks and they stated they were done for the night.

 

August 20, 2022

0347 - Sergeant Ray went out with an abandoned vehicle on FM 696 west of the Blue Area. Vehicle was red-tagged.

0818 - A complainant reported that 5 dogs had attacked and killed one of his calves and one of the dogs came at his wife so he shot it. Sergeant McAnally responded, took an information report and attempted to locate the dog and its owner.

1220 - Deputy Terpstra assisted a motorist on Hwy 21 as the trailer had a blow out with a lot of property on it. Trailer will be left at Hwy 21 near CR 448, off the roadway.

1545 - A subject came into the Sheriff's Office requesting a civil standby. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Terpstra responded. The items requested to be picked up could not be located. When items are located, another civil standby will be arranged.

1815 - A complainant contacted the Sheriff's Office regarding stalking. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded to meet with complainant and take a report.

1910 - A caller reported trailer riders on CR 118 that appeared to be drinking while driving four-wheelers and dirt bikes. Corporal West, Deputies Young and J. Brown responded. Trail riders advised they will be courteous and move off the road for other drivers. Deputies did not observe any drivers drinking and driving.

2042 - A subject at Buccee's informed Sergeant Ray of possible debris in the roadway on Hwy 290. Sergeant Ray checked Hwy 290 to CR 233 but was unable to locate any debris in the roadway.

2227 - Deputy Young advised Dispatch of large debris in the roadway on FM 2440 between CR 104 & CR 105. Debris was removed from the roadway and moved into the ditch on FM 2440.

2242 - Deputy J. Brown attempted to stop a vehicle on Rockdale Street in Lexington, vehicle did not stop and pursuit was initiated. Vehicle was driving at speeds of 100+ and finally came to a stop at Hwy 77 and CR 329. Driver was arrested for evading and passenger was released to family member with citation for MIP.

 

August 21, 2022

0011 - GPD advised of an active pursuit on Hwy 290 near the Bowling Alley involving a stolen vehicle out of Houston. All Lee County units responded. GPD terminated pursuit near Hwy 290 and CR 203. Bastrop County notified.

0313 - Fayette County advised of a wrong way driver on Hwy 290. Vehicle was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. Sergeant Ray and Deputy Young were in the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

0836 - A caller reported a cow out near CR 114. Deputy Haman responded to the location and was able to put the cow up.

1105 - Sergeant McAnally, Troopers Pennartz and McCoy assisted with traffic control on Hwy 21 in Lincoln for the yearly lunch event.

1315 - A complainant called in a loud noise complaint near the Dime Box Distillery. Sergeant McAnally responded to the area but was unable to hear any loud music playing.

1510 - Blue VFD called in a report of black smoke in the area of FM 696 west and CR 619. Blue VFD and Deputy Haman responded but were unable to locate any fire.

1544 - A previous complainant that spoke with Sergeant McAnally regarding stalking reported that the male subject was at the residence where he was not supposed to be. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman went enroute but subject left before they arrived. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman met with male subject on CR 310. Both parties were referred to JP3.

1845 - A 911 call was received stating a vehicle with the driver door open on Hwy 290 approximately ½ mile outside the Giddings city limits was parked and female subject was possibly sleeping. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with subject who advised she was taking a break. She was advised to move to a location near a gas station.

2009 - A caller reported a burn ban violation off of CR 118. Deputy Young responded and advised the owners to put the fire out.

2100 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on CR 309 near CR 312. Caller advised a small child was seen sitting in the roadway next to the vehicle but did not see any adults around. Corporal West and Deputy J. Brown responded. The vehicle was located at Riverside School and all checked out oaky.

2113 - A 911 call was received reporting 3 cows out in the roadway on CR 430 near CR 117. Deputy Young responded and located 2 calves and secured them off the roadway but was unable to locate the third.
