August 1 - August 7, 2022

 

August 1, 2022

0645 - A caller reported his son had run off the road and hit a fence on Hwy 77 north about 4 miles north of Hwy 21. Deputy Haman responded a crash report made. Landowner was notified of damage to the fence.

0814 - A caller reported an abandoned vehicle on FM 696 W and CR 337. Deputies Haman and Webber responded to the location given. They were unable to locate the vehicle.

0815 - A caller reported a 2 18-wheeler crash on Hwy 290. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber responded. Crash report was taken.

0912 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to speak with someone about a neighbor's bull that is messing with his livestock on FM 141. Captain Allen was given the message.

1151 - A complainant contacted the Sheriff's Office regarding neighbor's trash. Sergeant McAnally talked with complainant and advised him of options.

1356 - A 91 call was received reporting a female subject on property on FM 2239 and refused to leave. Captain Allen, Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded to the scene. Female subject was issued a CW and was walking towards Bastrop County.

1517 - A 911 call was received reporting a 2 vehicle crash blocking 1 lane of traffic. Giddings FD, Captain Allen, Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded. Next rotation was requested.

1630 - A 911 call was received reporting a female subject that was issued a CTW earlier was back on the property and refusing to leave. Captain Allen, Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded to the location. Female subject was given a courtesy ride to Paige.

1645 - A complainant called the Sheriff's Office requesting a CTW on a subject making threats. Complainant was referred to Lexington PD. Sergeant McAnally went enroute.

1655 - A caller advised a vehicle with a trailer was parked at a property entrance off Turkey Creek Road that does have permission to be there. Deputy Haman enroute to location.

1824 - A caller reported large pieces of tire in the roadway on Hwy 21 from Dime Box to Hwy 77. Corporal West responded to the area but was unable to locate any debris.

1934 - A caller advised a family member was on their property yelling and possibly had a weapon. Corporal West and Deputy Young responded. Deputies issued a new and current CTW to subject.

1948 - A complainant reported 2 puppies were stolen from his property on CR 430. Corporal West made contact with complainant and a report was taken.

2022 - A caller requested law enforcement at residence on CR 233 due to a verbal disturbance. Parties are going through a divorce and were arguing. Sergeant Ray had parties separate for the night.

2232 - A caller reported a small calf out on CR 430 near the Mendoza Ranch. Corporal West responded and secured the calf on a property just south of the Mendoza Ranch.

 

August 2, 2022

0730 - A caller reported at least 2 cows out on CR 430 north of CR 434. Deputy Haman responded and removed the cows from the roadway.

0815 - A caller reported smoke coming from a residence. Post Oak was toned out and on scene. Deputy Haman also responded. Brush was being burned.

1207 - A complainant reported 2 individuals sending threatening text messages and following complainant. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber responded to the scene. A report was taken.

1213 - A caller reported loose livestock in the area of CR 310 and CR 308. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Webber responded to the location. Cattle belonged on property on CR 310, they were put up and fence was fixed.

1329 - A complainant reported dogs running loose on CR 130; they were running down and killing calves. Sergeant McAnally responded to the location and made contact with complainant and dog owner.

1839 - A complainant contacted Sheriff Goetz to report a gun that had been stolen sometime from December 2021 to present. Sergeant Ray and Deputy Young made scene and took a report. Another male subject that was there had a warrant. Deputy Young arrested subject and booked him into Lee County Jail without incident.

2057 - A caller reported a bull out on FM 619. Sergeant Ray responded to the location but was unable to locate the bull.

2131 - A complainant advised a neighbor's bull was on his property on CR 208 and neighbor was not willing to remove it. Deputy Young spoke with complainant and advised dispatch a cowboy would be contacted next morning to remove the bull.

2226 - A caller reported the bull earlier on FM 619 that could not be located was on FM 619 near the cemetery. Sergeant Ray was able to locate the bull and ran the bull down a private road. There are no fences in the area so unsure where the bull came from.

 

August 3, 2022

0735 - Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded to Hwy 21 and CR 338 and remove a cow from the roadway.

0934 - Sergeants Jones and Adams conducted a traffic stop near the Giddings City Cemetery. A PC search was conducted and narcotics were recovered. Driver was placed under arrest and booked into Lee County Jail.

0934 - A 911 call was received from CR 304 advising that a vehicle was broke into and a firearm was stolen. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth responded and made a report. Firearm was entered into TCIC/NCIC.

1221 - A complainant reported 2 large dogs had been running loose in the area and stated they chased son up the driveway. Sergeant Jones talked to complainant by phone and instructed complainant to contact office if/when dogs showed up again.

1404 - A caller reported a horse out on FM3403 near CR 446. Sergeant Adams responded and secured the horse at property on CR 446.

1456 - Sergeant Adams conducted a civil standby without incident.

1519 - A caller requested to speak with a deputy about a cow on his property that does not belong to him. Deputy Strouth made contact with the owner of the cow and was advised owner will send someone to pick the cow up.

2057 - A caller reported 3 cows out on CR 312 near 309. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson were unable to locate the cows.

2159 - Deputy Dudley advised he was assisting Giddings PD on a traffic stop on Austin Street at Round Top Bank.

2314 - A caller reported hearing gunfire on CR 113. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded. Report was taken.

2324 - A complainant reported his computer was missing when he arrived home. Sergeant Holloway took a report.

 

August 4, 2022

0900 - A complainant came to the Sheriff's Office to speak to a deputy regarding a civil matter. Deputy Strouth met with complainant and took the information for a report.

0950 - ADT Security reported a residential burglar alarm. Captain Allen, Sergeant Jones and Deputy L. Brown responded to the location. Repair company was there, all was okay.

1025 - A caller reported a horse out on FM 3403 near CR 446. Sergeant Jones and Deputy L. Brown responded and advised horse was tied to a tree but was not out.

1102 - A caller reported a male subject sitting on the side of FM 141 north of Lion's Den. Deputy Webber stopped out with the subject and game him a ride to Mel's Diner.

1647 - A caller reported a disturbance at a residence in Lexington. Captain Allen and Deputy Strouth responded. Parties were separated and information was taken.

2017 - A caller reported cattle out on FM 180. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley responded but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

2137 - A 911 call was received reported a male and female were having a verbal disagreement in the front yard in Lexington.  It was reported the female left the residence with a child. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dudley located the female while Deputy Dickerson was at the residence with the male subject. CTW was issued for the female subject.

2243 - A disturbance call was received advising two females at a residence on 1st street were involved. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded. Parties were separated for the night and information report was taken.

 

August 5, 2022

0157 - Lee County Jail advised help was needed moving an inmate. 

0915 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 113 before the 1st bridge. Sergeant McAnally responded and removed the cow from the roadway.

1107 - LCSO was advised that at least 3 residences had their water cut off after 1 resident noticed an unknown truck in the area. Lee County Water asked for assistance.

1550 - A 911 call was received stating a white box truck broke down on Hwy 290 with a dark colored vehicle behind it. Captain Allen was at the location. Vehicle had a blown tire and occupants were waiting for a tow truck from Houston. Vehicle was off the roadway.

1730 - A complainant came into the Sheriff's Office to file a harassment case. Sergeant McAnally took the report.

1740 - Giddings PD transferred a call about a car bumper in the left lane of Hwy 21 near CR 440. Deputy Haman responded.

1903 - A 911 call was received reported multiple cow in the roadway on FM 141. Deputy Young responded.

1907 - A 911 call was received reporting a reckless driver on Hwy 290 heading eastbound, passing Buccee's. Caller reported that driver turned around a headed back into Giddings. Giddings PD was advised.

 

August 6, 2022

0633 - A caller reported a cow on Hwy 77 about 5 miles north of Giddings. Sergeant McAnally responded and cow was removed from the roadway.

0800 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 141 between CR 117 and CR 119. Deputy Haman responded and cow was removed from the roadway.

0825 - Another 911 call was received about another cow in the same area on FM 141. Deputy Haman responded back to the area, it was a different cow. Cow was put up off the roadway but not where it belongs on place n FM 141. All gates were locked and no hole in the fence was found. Deputy Haman made attempts to contact the owner.

0944 - A caller reported cows out on CR 441. Deputy Haman responded to the location but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1051 - A 911 call was received stating a pallet was in the middle of Hwy 21 about 3 miles west of Hwy 77. Sergeant McAnally responded but did not locate the debris.

1115 - Sergeant McAnally was out with a vehicle on CR 440 that hit the pallet in the roadway and had a flat tire. Driver had assistance on their way.

1239 - A 911 call was received stating a fire was seen at a residence. Lexington Fire was toned out and Deputy Haman responded.

1548 - A caller requested a deputy check on a horse and foal at a location in Lexington. Deputy Haman responded to the address given but was unable to locate any horse there.

1634 - Baylor Scott & White called to report an animal bit. Individual was bitten by a stray kitten while trying to clear it up. Sergeant McAnally took the case information.

1820 - A caller advised there were male subjects taking water from the County Water Supply and filling a pond. Corporal West responded to the location and spoke with caller and subjects taking water. Subjects were advised they could not use the water.

2005 - Deputy Young advised he attempted to stop a motorcycle driving 100+ mph on Hwy 77. Dispatch advised Milam County. Deputy Young located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at CEFCO in Lexington. Driver was found to not have license and was arrested for reckless driving and driving without CM license. Subject was booked into Lee County Jail without incident.

2114 - A 911 call was received about 2 suspicious vehicles parked on Hwy 77 north. Sergeant Ray responded to the location; 1 vehicle had left prior to arrival. Sergeant Ray made contact with driver still on scene, all checked out okay and vehicle was off the roadway.

2144 - Sergeant Ray was on a traffic stop on Hwy 290 and FM 141 when a vehicle pulled up behind his unit. After finishing traffic stop, Sergeant Ray met with driver who needed assistance changing a tire.

2207 - A caller reported a cow out near the roadway on FM 1624 near Fedor Fire Station. Corporal West responded to the location and check are from the Fire Station to CR 335 but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

 

August 7, 2022

0715 - A caller reported a big burn on CR 112 about 4 miles outside of Lexington. Deputy Haman responded to the area but did not locate any fires being burned.

0850 - A caller reported a trash bags had been dumped or fell out of a vehicle on FM 141 and vehicles were driving over the bags. Reserve Deputy Terpstra responded to the location and cleared the trash bags from the roadway. Reserve Deputy Terpstra made contact with the owner of trash and they will be cleaning the trash up.

0951 - A complainant called to report suspicious activity near his home. Deputy Haman responded and checked the area; no activity was detected by Deputy Haman.

1016 - A caller reported 3 cows in the ditch on FM 696 east in between CR 401 and Burleson County Bridge. Reserve Terpstra responded to the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1101 - Deputy Haman checked on an abandoned vehicle on CR 312.

1120 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 21 near Hwy 77. Vehicle had been followed from Bastrop. Reserve Deputy Terpstra and Sergeant McAnally responded and were out with driver.

1205 - A 911 call was received reporting a 2 vehicle accident, no apparent injuries and off the roadway. Sergeant McAnally and Reserve Deputy Terpstra responded.

1223 - A caller reported illegal dumping on the corner of Hwy 77 and CR 327. Deputy Haman responded and found trash and rocks, no vehicles were seen or located.

1240 - A caller reported suspicious activity at Zochnet on Hwy 77. Deputy Haman responded.

1455 - A complainant requested a deputy come to his location on CR 313 reference equipment he loaned to someone else. Deputy Haman and Reserve Deputy Terpstra responded and met with complainant. Deputy Haman took an information report.

1725 - A 911 call was received advising a reckless driver headed northbound on Hwy 77. Vehicle was hauling a boat and hit a guardrail near 3403. Milam County was notified. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded to location the vehicle hit the guardrail and lost the front bumper.  No bumper or guardrail damage was located at specified location. Sergeant McAnally did find guardrail damage 3 miles south of 3403.

1917 - A 911 call was received stating a vehicle was broken down in the middle of Hwy 21 near the Kountry Store. Deputy Young responded and located the vehicle; vehicle was removed from the roadway and parked in nearby parking lot.

1944 - A caller reported a cow out on FM 141 near CR 117. Corporal West responded and secured the cow off the roadway.

2026 - While Corporal West was out with cow on FM 141; a passerby advised him another cow was out on CR 119. Corporal West responded once finished on FM 141.

2212 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 407. Deputy Young responded and made contact with owner. Cow was secured off the roadway.

2330 - A 911 call was received reported a cow in the middle of Hwy 21 near CR 440. Corporal West responded to the location but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

2353 - Deputy Young initiated a traffic stop on Hwy 77, vehicle occupied with 1 male and 1 female subject. Male subject advised a shotgun was in the front floorboard. A request for another unit was made. Other units arrived on scene and were able to locate a sawed-off shotgun. Giddings PD K9 unit was requested, noting was found. Male subject was arrested by Deputy Yong and booked into Lee County Jail for illegal firearm.
