July 11, 2022

0240 - A caller advised a cow is out on Hwy 77N at Nails Creek Bridge. Sergeant Ray removed the cow from the roadway.

0753 - Deputy Strouth went to meet with a complainant who advised there are speeders up and down the road and they are intentionally running over animals. Complainant was not at home at the time so Deputy Strouth met with a family member.

0758 - A caller on FM 180 caught 3 dogs in the chicken coop. All 22 chickens had been killed. Dogs ran off to a neighboring property. Sergeant Jones met with complainant and drove to surrounding property to possibly speak with the dog owner, no one was home and dogs may be strays. Information was documented.

0801 - Deputy Strouth checked out an abandoned trailer on FM 180 south of CR 132. Trailer showed damage but was off the roadway.

0959 - Giddings PD had a theft call and the suspect vehicle left Tractor Supply with stolen game cameras. Sergeant Jones located and stopped the vehicle on Hwy 290 near Altman Plants. The driver and passenger were identified and admitted to the theft. The stolen items were found in the vehicle. Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to Lee County Jail.

1059 - A caller reported a horse out on Hwy 21 near CR 440. Sergeant Jones located the horse and advised it was back on the property and off the roadway.

1140 - A caller reported a horse out on Hwy 21 near CR 440. Sergeant Jones located the horse and secured it off the roadway. Sergeant Jones made contact with the owner by phone. A citation was issued and left with a family member.

1334 - Milam County received a call in reference to a rolling disturbance on Hwy 77. The original caller reported the vehicle was traveling southbound and the driver could be seen punching the passenger.  Deputy Strouth checked the area but was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description given. Chief Deputy Weltner was in Lexington at the time of the call and searched the area but was unable to see a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle.

1536 - The Probation Office advised they had a female subject in their office with an active warrant out of Jones County. Sergeant Jones and Deputy Strouth responded and detained the subject.  A PC search was conducted on her vehicle and contraband was found. Warrants out of Jones County were confirmed and additional charges will follow. Subject was transported to Lee County Jail.

1800 - Sergeant Holloway checked out with a vehicle that had reportedly been on CR 404 for a number of days.

 

July 12, 2022

0040 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 77 north of Giddings High School. Sergeant Ray responded and removed the cow off the roadway.

0126 - A complainant advised a truck that had been stolen and recovered the day before had again been taken by the same family member.  Sergeants Holloway and Ray responded to the scene.

0127 - A caller reported a suspicious person on his property on CR 108. Caller went to look for the subject after reporting the subject but was unable locate anyone. Sergeant Ray responded to the scene but was also unable to locate anyone.

1915 - A caller reported a calf out on FM 141 at CR 117. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded and the calf was removed from the roadway.

 

July 13, 2022

0834 - A bounty hunter came into the lobby to speak with a Deputy regarding a wanted subject. Chief Deputy Weltner, Sergeants Adams and McAnally, and Deputy Haman responded to the address given. No contact was made.

1256 - A caller reported a box truck traveling south on FM 448 near FM 2239 failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Deputies Haman and J. Brown attempted to locate the vehicle but were unable to do so.

1414 - A caller reported having a verbal argument with another subject on CR 451. Deputies Haman and J. Brown met with subject, all was okay. Caller was taken into Giddings to get a room for the night.

1453 - A motorist reported a road crew picking up trash and stated they had no water. Sergeant McAnally responded and talked with the TxDOT crew.  They advised an 18 wheeler had blown through a stop sign. Sergeant McAnally checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

1607 - Washington County advised of a suspect vehicle involved in a theft in their county. All units notified of vehicle description. Sergeant McAnally, Deputies Haman and J. Brown located and stopped the vehicle. One subject was taken into custody for out of county warrants.

2041 - A caller advised there was a male subject laying down on the side of the roadway on FM 696 west. Corporal West responded.

 

July 14, 2022

0044 - Several callers reported cows out on Hwy 77 near Nails Creek Bridge and then again at 0340. Cows were chased off the roadway both times but no owners have been found.

0731 - A caller reported a vehicle on Hwy 290 failing to maintain lane of traffic, speeding up and slowing down.  All units were notified but were unable to locate the vehicle.

0847 - A caller reported a cow out near FM 3032 and CR 208. Captain Allen responded to the area and removed the cow from the roadway.

0934 - A subject came into the Sheriff's Office to report a bull stolen from his property on CR 122. Deputy Haman took a report for theft of livestock.

1336 - A caller reported a reckless driver on Hwy 77 near Hwy 21 headed south; description was an 18 wheeler hauling a trailer. Deputies Haman and J. Brown responded to the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

1424 - A caller reported Shetland ponies on his property. Deputies J. Brown and Haman responded to the location. Owner was notified and took them home.

1443 - A caller reported someone was seen on a private road that no one should be on.  Sergeant McAnally, Deputies J. Brown and Haman responded.  Contact was made with subject; it is a civil matter.

1539 - A caller reported cattle that may not be properly taken care of. Sergeant McAnally checked the area and will make contact with the owner.

2315 - A 911 call was received advising a male subject had driven away from the residence in caller's vehicle.  She is unfamiliar with surroundings, advised he may have driven to CEFCO. Sergeant Ray and Corporal West responded. They were not able to locate male subject but gave the female a courtesy ride to another location by Sergeant Ray.

 

July 15, 2022

0719 - A complainant asked that a deputy meet at RNS Trucking where some of the vehicles were vandalized the night before. Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded and a report was taken.  Missing items from the vehicle were located near the area.

0816 - A caller reported cows out on FM 141 near CR 116. Sergeant Jones checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0855 - A complainant reported his neighbor's dog attacked him and his pets. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth made contact with both parties and advised them of their rights.

0903 - A caller reported loose cows on Hwy 290 near Jigsaw. Sergeant Jones located the cows and removed them from the roadway.

0930 - A caller reported cows out on Hwy 21. Sergeant Jones responded to the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1029 - Phillips and Luckey requested a funeral escort to Lexington. Captain Allen, Sergeant Jones and Trooper Janda assisted with the escort.

1032 - A caller reported a theft on CR 235. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded and took a report.

1125 - A complainant reported someone using a private road without permission. Sergeant Jones spoke with the subject and lawyer advised it was a civil issue.

1415 - A caller advised there was construction debris all over Hwy 290 near CR 138. Sergeant Jones checked the area; all items were off the roadway.

1535 - A caller reported her son is not wanted on the property on FM 448 and he will not leave. Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown all responded. A CTW was issued and subject left the property.

1804 - A caller reported a crash involving an 18-wheeler on Hwy 77 south of FM 3403. No injuries were reported and vehicle was not blocking the roadway. Trooper Pennartz along with Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded.

2106 - Several callers reported a motorcycle hitting a deer near the Travel Plaza. GPD and EMS responded and GVFD was contacted for traffic control. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded to assist.

2313 - Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded to a suspicious vehicle located in Simmang Park.

2325 - A caller reported a disturbance between neighbors. Sergeant Holloway, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded. Parties were separated for the night and went to their respective homes.

2336 - A 911 call was received but hung up. Dispatch called back number but no one spoke English. Female could be heard crying and phone disconnected. No answer on call back. All units responded to area and made entry, no one was there.

 

July 16, 2022

0301 - A caller reported 2 males walking down Hwy 77 in Tanglewood area flagging down cars. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded but were unable to locate the subjects.

0945 - Sergeant Jones and Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded to CR 424 in Dime Box to assist Union Pacific with removing a trespasser from the rail car of the train. Subject was removed and given a courtesy ride to Bubba's by Deputies Strouth and L. Brown.

0959 - A female subject approached a Rockdale Officer who advised she needed a protective order. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded to her location.

1005 - Captain Allen and Sergeant Jones responded to FM 3403 regarding a civil matter with access to private property.  All parties, including attorney, were advised subject is not to return or an arrest will be made. One party was allowed to retrieve farm equipment.

1019 - A 911 call was received reporting cattle on the roadway on CR 430 at Mendoza Ranch. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded on their way to another call.

1542 - A caller reported debris on Hwy 21 at CR 107. Sergeant Jones responded to the area and removed the debris.

1616 - Sergeant Jones attempted civil process. Process completed without incident.

1710 - A call from a Park Ranger at Nails Creek HQ stated that an employee called him and there was concern the employee was in danger. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded and made contact with the employee who was safe. A male subject had been asked to leave the area. Deputies checked the park area but the male subject was not located.

1742 - Deputy L. Brown was out with an abandoned vehicle.  Vehicle was off the roadway and Deputy L. Brown red tagged it.

1809 - Deputies Dickerson and Dudley attempted civil process. Process completed without incident.

1819 - Deputies Dickerson and Dudley attempted civil process. Process completed without incident.

1841 - A caller reported cows out on CR 117 and CR 141. Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded to the location. Cows went into property of Lexus Oil.

1918 - Sergeant Holloway went to get cows out on CR 450. All cows were accounted for.

2205 - Deputies Dickerson and Dudley conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of 2 subjects for possession of marijuana and unlawful carry.

 

July 17, 2022

0756 - A caller reported a female subject was hitting him. Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded. A report was taken.

0900 - A caller reported a cow out on Hwy 290. Sergeant Jones removed the cow from the roadway. The owner was notified and stated that the fence would be fixed today.

1005 - A caller reported a cow carcass in the roadway on FM 141. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown removed the carcass from the road.

1011 - A caller reported horses out on CR 114. Sergeant Jones checked the area but did not locate any loose animals.

1236 - A caller reported a vehicle headed westbound on Hwy 290 and the driver appeared to be asleep. Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown all searched the area. Caller advised the vehicle pulled into Buccee's.

1343 - A caller reported that a vehicle had dumped a dog at Rabbs Creek and FM 448. Caller advised they turned around and picked the dog up. Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown searched the area to locate the vehicle but were unable to find it.

1455 - Lee County Jail requested assistance with an inmate. Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded and assisted.

1641 - A caller reported a 1 vehicle rollover on Hwy 77 at CR 114. Trooper Pennartz, Sergeant Jones, Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded along with EMS and Giddings Fire.

1800 - A caller advised cows out on CR 180 and CR 130. Sergeant Holloway responded.

1817 - A caller reported cows out on FM 141 and CR 117. Owner was contacted and Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded.

1817 - A caller reported a male subject with an active CTW was seen on the property who said he would return. Sergeant Holloway advised caller to notify when/if he returned. GPD was notified male subject was at the park but they were unable to locate him.

2023 - A caller reported his neighbor had advised a vehicle went through his fence at CR 143 and someone was attempting to pull it out. Trooper Pennartz, Deputies Dickerson and Dudley responded.

2248 - A 911 call was received reporting a disturbance. A male advised he was hurt while a female could be heard in the background. All units notified for active disturbance. Female was gone upon arrived, male subject was bleeding. Active EPO was on file for female but deputies were unable to locate her.
