July 4 - July 10, 2022

 

July 4, 2022

1257 - Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Terpstra conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 near FM 180. The driver came back wanted and subject was taken into custody.

2210 - A caller reported an animal was in his vehicle and was hissing. Deputy Young responded and was able to remove the animal from the vehicle.

2225 - A caller reported people setting off fire crackers near his house on Avenue A in Lexington. Corporal West responded to the area but was unable to locate anyone or any fireworks.

2255 - A caller reported another vehicle hit caller's vehicle while they were leaving the fireworks show. Sergeant Ray was on site. Crash happened on private property with less than 1000 damage. No report taken.

 

July 5, 2022

0010 - A caller reported subjects fighting on Rockdale Street in Lexington. One car was seen driving away and one subject was seen walking away and a vehicle picked him up. Corporal West and Deputy Young responded to the area. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate the subjects.

0114 - A caller reported subjects riding a gator up and down the street screaming and yelling, possibly drinking. Sergeant Ray checked the area but was unable to locate anyone.

0638 - A caller reported cows out on CR 216 near CR 219. Deputies Haman and J. Brown responded and the cows were removed from the roadway.

0639 - A caller reported cows out on FM 141. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

0712 - Sergeant McAnally located a vehicle on the side of FM 180. Vehicle was safely off the roadway and red tagged.

0913 - A caller reported cows out on FM 1624. Deputies J. Brown and Haman responded. Deputies were notified to cancel, cows had been put up.

0928 - A caller reported possible animal cruelty on CR 133. Deputies Haman and J. Brown responded to the scene. The horse located on scene had food and water.

1134 - A caller reported a one vehicle rollover on FM 3403. Trooper McCoy, Sergeant McAnally, Deputy Webber, Constable Stephens, Lee County EMS, Squad One and Lexington Fire all responded. DPS took the crash report.

1840 - Corporal West attempted civil process. Papers were served without incident.

1920 - A caller requested to speak with a deputy about being harassed. Deputy Young responded and met with complainant. Harassment involved a former employee so Deputy Young informed complainant it was a civil matter.

2120 - A caller reported cows out near the roadway on FM 112 near the county line. Deputy Young responded to the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

July 6, 2022

0045 - A caller reported cows out on Hwy 77 near Nails Creek. Deputy Young responded and was able to remove the cows from the roadway.

0208 - Sergeant Ray checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at Blue Fire Department. All checked out okay.

0245 - A caller reported a noise disturbance on the corner of 4th and Giddings in Lexington. Corporal West was in the area and checked the scene.  No noise disturbance was detected.

1040 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 119. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown responded to the area and secured the cow off the roadway in a neighboring property until the owner could be reached.

1130 - A caller reported a two vehicle accident on FM 696 and CR 309. Blue VFD and Lee County EMS were paged out. Trooper McCoy and Deputy Webber responded to the scene.

1744 - A caller requested assistance with a flat tire on Hwy 290 west of CR 223. Deputy Dickerson assisted.

1800 - Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson assisted GPD with a vehicle vs. deer crash on Hwy 290.

2132 - A 911 call was received reporting a physical disturbance on Hale Street in Lexington involving a weapon. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson responded and a male subject was arrested. A female subject on scene was also arrested on an out of county warrant.

 

July 7, 2022

0721 - A caller reported 10-11 head of cattle on CR 121 near CR 430. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown checked the area but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

0838 - Sergeant Jones was flagged down by a motorist regarding a cow out on Hwy 290 east near Jigsaw Weaponry. Sergeant Jones and Trooper McCoy were able to secure the cows off the roadway.

0851 - Sergeant Jones received a call about a man lying in the ditch on Hwy 77 near FM 3403. Deputies L. Brown and Strouth located the subject.  He was okay, just taking a break from picking up trash along the highway.  He advised crew would be there until the afternoon.

1342 - A caller requested a deputy meet him at a residence on FM 696 regarding an abandoned, possibly stolen trailer left on his property. Sergeant Jones met with the caller and also spoke to the owner of the trailer. Owner not filing charges and was making arrangements to pick up the trailer.

1416 - A complainant called requesting a CTW be issued. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown met with complainant and a CTW was issued. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown met with subject being served with CTW.

1422 - A caller reported an 18-wheeler traveling southbound on Hwy 77 leaking some type of fluid. Truck pulled into an oil pad on CR 222. Deputies Strouth and L. Brown drove to the oil pad and made contact with the driver. It was determined one of the valves was open, the liquid was salt water.

1523 - A caller reported a vehicle swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 21. Deputy Webber located and stopped the vehicle, with Sergeant Jones assisting. All checked okay.

1746 - A caller reported a vehicle swerving all over the roadway passing through Tanglewood. Sergeant Holloway checked from SH 21 north.  Sergeant Holloway did not see the vehicle matching the description given.

1746 - A caller reported two calves out on FM 1624 about a mile outside of Lexington. Sergeant Jones located the calves and secured them off the roadway.

2100 - A civil standby was requested on Hale Street in Lexington to pick up a vehicle. Sergeant Holloway responded to the location, no vehicle was located.

2254 - A caller reported that a friend had called and said a male subject was hitting her.  Units were sent to Austin Street but caller was unsure of Unit number. Sergeant Holloway and Deputy Dickerson located the female subject behind the Texaco and the male subject was no longer on scene. Subject was given a courtesy ride.

 

July 8, 2022

0039 - A male subject called and reported a disturbance then advised it was a false alarm. A female in the background could be heard yelling and cussing. Deputy Dickerson responded to the location.

0729 - Life 360 advised there was a collision on FM 1624 near CR 322. Trooper McCoy, Deputies J. Brown and Haman responded. No injuries reported and the vehicle was off the roadway. DPS took the crash report.

0829 - A caller on CR 320 reported someone keeps driving in caller's hay field. Sergeant McAnally responded to the scene and a report was taken.

1001 - A complainant requested a CTW. Deputies J. Brown and Haman responded and a CTW was issued.

1122 - A caller reported a cow out on CR 208 near FM 2239. Sergeant McAnally searched the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

1619 - A caller reported a vehicle broken down on Hwy 21 east of Hwy 77. Captain Allen, Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded to the location but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

1845 - A caller reported a reckless truck pulling a gooseneck trailer on FM 112. Sergeant Ray was enroute to the scene. Caller called again and reported the vehicle turned into the Lexington Sale Barn. Sergeant Ray was unable to locate the vehicle.

1940 - A caller reported several cow out on CR 208. Sergeant Ray and Corporal West responded and removed the cows from the roadway.

2020 - A caller reported road debris in the southbound lane on Hwy 77 near Austin Chalk. Corporal West responded to the area and removed the debris from the roadway.

2043 - A caller reported 4 cows out on CR 226. Corporal West responded to the location and removed the cows from the roadway.

2135 - A caller reported cows out on CR 309 near Blue Fire Department. Sergeant Ray was enroute to the location when he came upon a cow out on FM 1624. Once that cow was put up, he continued to CR 309 but Sergeant Ray was unable to locate the cows at that location.

2223 - A caller reported a grass fire on FM 696. Sergeant Ray located another fire on FM 696 and then another fire was called in near the Storage Units. Blue Fire Department responded and requested assistance from Fedor and Lexington Fire Departments. There was a report of a truck with kids in the back putting fireworks in mailboxes. Sergeant Ray reported back to Blue Fire Department that there were no other fires in the area. The fire at FM 696 and Cheryl Lane was still burning and Blue Fire requested assistance from Giddings, Tanglewood and Lincoln.

2225 - A caller advised a family member was in Lee County with a truck reported stolen out of Robertson County. Corporal West went enroute to check the location and the vehicle was located. Next rotation was enroute to the scene to pick up the truck.

 

July 9, 2022

0050 - A caller reported 2 cows next to the roadway on Hwy 77 at Nails Creek Bridge. Sergeant Ray responded to the location and removed the cows from the roadway.

0210 - A caller advised of a possible disturbance in Lexington. Sergeant Ray and Corporal West responded to the location.  No physical disturbance had occurred; parties were separated for the night.

1024 - A caller on CR 306 wanted to speak with a deputy about a cow that was on her property. Deputy Haman spoke with caller.  Caller did not have the cow locked up and had no way to pen it up. 

1034 - A caller reported a vehicle that turned on FM 448 headed south failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Sergeant McAnally responded but was unable to locate the described vehicle.

1330 - A subject came into the Sheriff's Office requesting a civil standby on Hwy 290 to retrieve personal items. Sergeant McAnally followed subject to retrieve personal items.

1628 - A caller reported an aggressive dog on her property. Reserve Deputy Terpstra responded to the location and transported to dog to the shelter.

1745 - A caller requested assistance retrieving personal items from a residence where there is a current CTW. Deputy Young met subject at CEFCO and will assist.

2135 - A caller reported loud music coming from a residence on County Road F. Sergeant Ray and Deputy Young went enroute. Music was turned down and advised party would be over by midnight.

 

July 10, 2022

0125 - A caller reported 2 cows out on Hwy 77N at Nails Creek Bridge. Sergeant Ray enroute to the area and removed the cows from the roadway.

1330 - A caller reported a physical disturbance on CR 317. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded and made contact with complainant. The other party involved had already left the scene when deputies arrived.  A report was taken.

1450 - A caller received information from a neighbor on CR 329 that someone could be seen in the garage. Sergeant McAnally and Deputy Haman responded and checked the garage. A buzzard was stuck in the rafters. All other buildings on the property were secure.
