Suspect Arrested in Connection with Deceased Male

On Saturday, March 27th, 2021, just before midnight, the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a report of a male laying in the roadway on County Road 306 in the Blue area. Emergency Medical Services was dispatched and determined the male was deceased. The male had died from multiple stab wounds to the chest. The murder investigation was initially stalled due to the identity of the male victim not being known. On Monday, March 29th, 2021, the Travis County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on the victim and obtained fingerprints. On Tuesday, March 30th, 2021, the Medial Examiner obtained a match on the fingerprints through a nationwide database and notified the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The victim was identified as 34 year old Christopher Michael Gonzales. Having the victim identified sped up the investigation which was conducted by Lee County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Investigator Vance Weltner and Texas Ranger Brent Barina. Later that same day a suspect was identified and interviewed by the investigators. The suspect gave investigators a confession. Evidence corroborating the confession was collected. The victim was the suspect's roommate. Arrested and charged with murder is 41 year old Blue resident Jennifer Redden Kramer. Kramer is being held in the Lee County Jail on bonds totaling $350,000.
