LEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ASSIST IN AGG ROBBERY

On Saturday, January 23, 2021 at approximately 5:47 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff's Office Dispatcher received a 911 call reporting an armed robbery in the 2400 Block of E. Austin St. at the Cricket Wireless Store.

Suspects were described as one black male and one black female, the suspects were seen leaving the scene in a maroon 4 door sedan with dark tinted windows and chrome rims. It was determined that the suspects were traveling eastbound on Hwy 290 towards Brenham.

Corporal Jeremiah Rudolph with the Lee County Sheriff's Office notified the dispatcher that he had located the suspect vehicle near the Burton area on Hwy 290, but was not able to catch up to the vehicle due to heavy traffic.

Lee County Dispatcher notified all units that the suspect vehicle had been stopped by Washington County Sheriff's Office in Brenham. Corporal Jeremiah Rudolph was sent to assist in holding the scene until Giddings Police Department could arrive.

Arrested were 24 year old Ayona Tunstill and 26 year old Aaron Akins. Both were transported to Lee County Jail, where they were booked in for Aggravated Robbery.
