March 20, 2023

05:48 - A caller reported a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 77 near FM 448. Deputy Ellington and Deputy J. Hilmo responded to assist with the accident. EMS was also dispatched to the scene. One lane of traffic was closed until the accident was cleared.

08:11 - Deputy Ellington was dispatched to Bubba's Truck Stop for a welfare concern. An employee requested a welfare check on an older male subject that has been sleeping in his car for a couple of days. Deputy Ellington checked on the subject, and advised he was okay. Employees will speak to the manager to see if a criminal trespass warning is needed.

08:14 - Dispatch received a call about a cow out near the 2000 block of CR 113. Sgt. Jones checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

08:43 - Deputy Ellington and Deputy Dickerson responded to a call on East Austin Street for a welfare check. The caller requested a welfare check on one of their employees. Contact was made with the subject who advised she had overslept.

09:06 - A motorist reported a cow out on Hwy 21 near Manheim. Sgt. Jones checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

09:54 - Sgt. Ray spoke with a property owner on CR 203 in reference to some issues he was having with his neighbor's dog. The property owner was advised of his rights to protect his livestock and property.

13:00 - A resident from CR 208 came into the Sheriff's Office to file a report about a stolen check. Deputy Dickerson met with the subject, and a report was taken.

13:37 - Judge York's office advised that a plaintiff threatened a defendant. Deputy Ellington responded to a call about a threat at the County Annex building. Everything was okay.

15:49 - Deputy Dickerson advised he was out with a vehicle on the side of Hwy 290 near CR 200. The subject advised they just pulled over to make a phone call.

16:44 - Dispatch received a call about loose cattle out on FM 696 East near the Burleson County line. Sgt. Jones checked FM 696 East from Lexington to the Burleson County line but did not locate any loose livestock.

17:00 - Deputy Ellington was dispatched to CR 133 near PR 1336 for a cow and calf out on the roadway. The livestock was removed from the roadway. The owners were on scene repairing the fence.

19:55 - A cowboy reported that he was taking a brown cow with no brand or ear tag to the Giddings sale barn. He requested a deputy to meet him at the sale barn to take a report and pictures. Deputy E. Hilmo met with the cowboy.

21:42 - Deputy Dudley responded to a call about a welfare concern on CR 441. The caller stated that her ex-husband had their adult autistic son for visitation, and she hadn't heard from them in 48 hours. The deputy made contact with the ex-husband who advised he contacted his ex-wife 30 minutes prior to her phone call.

 

March 21, 2023

00:52 - Deputy E. Hilmo advised he was assisting Giddings PD on East Austin Street across from Dairy Queen.

01:00 - Giddings PD requested assistance at Whataburger for a disturbance. Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and made contact with an employee. They advised everything was okay and saw no signs of any suspicious activity.

08:53 - Jail Capt. Ramirez reported an auto vs pedestrian accident at the intersection of Main Street and Richmond Street in Giddings. EMS and Giddings VFD were dispatched to the scene. Deputy Dickerson and Deputy Ellington assisted Giddings PD with traffic control.

09:34 - Bastrop County advised one of their units attempted a traffic stop on a Kia Soul traveling 75 in a 50-mph zone. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Hwy 290 passing FM 696. All units were notified but were unable to locate the vehicle.

11:58 - Deputy Dickerson was dispatched to a residence on CR 430 for an animal complaint. The resident stated that he was having problems with dogs coming onto his property and tearing into the trash. He has them pinned and wants them removed. There was only one dog and was not aggressive.

12:05 - A caller reported a herd of cattle out on FM 180 near the Nails Creek State Park. Deputy Ellington checked the area but was unable to locate any loose livestock.

15:01 - Deputy Ellington responded to a call about loose cattle on FM 141 near Hwy 21. The deputy located the cattle, and the owners were notified. The owners secured the cattle back in the pasture.

15:35 - A complainant advised she is a mail carrier who delivers mail in the Elgin area. She stated that there is a male subject that stands outside by the mailboxes that makes her feel uneasy. He sometimes stands in the middle of the road and flicks his tongue at her when she passes by. Sgt. Jones spoke with the complainant over the phone and was made aware of the subject's behavior in case something happens.

16:19 - Dispatch received a call about a large cow on the side of the road on Hwy 77 north of Lexington. Sgt. Jones drove from Lexington to the Milam County line and did not locate any loose livestock.

17:19 - Sgt. Jones was dispatched to Lexington for an animal complaint. The caller stated that she was chased down by two pit bulls down Main Street. They were last seen running down Sixth Street. The deputy searched the area but was unable to locate the dogs.

17:34 - A motorist reported a cow out on Hwy 77 north of Lexington. Chief Garza responded and advised that the cow ran off into the woods. Chief also stated that she was able to get in contact with property owners where the cow had run off to, and they would get in contact with the owner.

18:23 - A property owner called the Sheriff's Office to advise that he had a few bulls on his property on CR 130 that he was going to leave pinned up overnight. Deputy Dudley spoke with the property owner and confirmed that law enforcement was not needed at this time. Information was taken.

18:38 - Chief Garza advised that someone on CR 322 flagged her down about a disabled motorist that was on CR 309 in a dangerous spot. Chief Garza and Deputy E. Hilmo searched the area but were unable to locate any motorist or vehicle in need of assistance.

18:47 - Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 290 West. The complainant reported that her tenant was threatening her nephew with an axe. Parties were separated upon arrival. One subject was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail. A report was taken.

19:26 - Dispatch received a call about a one vehicle accident on CR 309. The vehicle went through someone's property. Deputy E. Hilmo, EMS, Lexington VFD and Lincoln VFD were dispatched to the scene. The property owners were notified, and a crash report was taken.

19:48 - A motorist called 911 to report a subject walking down the middle of FM 696 W. Deputy Dudley responded and checked the area but was unable to locate the subject. The deputy advised dispatch to get in contact with the school on CR 309 to see if they had any missing juveniles. The school advised that all their kids were accounted for.

20:57 - The school on CR 309 called the Sheriff's Office to advise that they did have a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was last seen in the dining hall between the times of 18:30-19:30. Deputy Dudley checked up and down FM 696 to the Bastrop County line and checked the gas stations in Lexington to see if they saw anyone matching the description given. Bastrop County and Elgin PD were notified. The school advised that the gas station clerk at Elgin Travel Center stated she saw the juvenile leave in a blue vehicle but unknown direction of travel. The juvenile was found at the Walmart in Elgin. Information was taken for a report.

 

March 22, 2023

07:37 - Dispatch received a 911 call about some loose cattle out on FM 3403 about a mile from Hwy 77. Sheriff Goetz checked the area from Hwy 77 to Hwy 21 but did not locate any loose livestock.

08:57 - Capt. Mastronardi, Lt. Adams, Sgt. Ray, Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Brown assisted Lexington PD with a warrant service at an address on Live Oak. The subject was arrested and booking into the Lee County Jail by Lexington PD.

12:37 - A complainant called requesting to speak to a deputy about his ongoing case. He advised he had new information. Sgt. Strouth spoke with the complainant and information was taken.

14:07 - Sgt. Strouth and Deputy Brown to Meadow Run Drive to meet with a complainant. The complainant stated that he believes his wife is trying to kill him although nothing was happening at the moment. The deputies made contact with the hospice nurse and APS to advise them that the complainant's medications were affecting his mental health. No report was taken at this time.

15:19 - A caller from CR 428 reported a stray dog on her property that was eating her chickens. Deputy Brown made contact with the caller via phone and advised her to contact the animal shelter.

16:24 - Sgt. Strouth was out at the 2400 block of Hwy 290 for a tire in the roadway. The tire was removed from the roadway.

17:19 - An officer from Connecticut called about a deceased person, and then requested a welfare check on a subject living on CR 426. The officer was unsure of the address being current. Dispatch found the subject's current address to be in Washington County. Sgt. Strouth made contact with the subject and advised her to call the officer in Connecticut.

20:30 - Dispatch received a call about a reckless driver on Hwy 21 East traveling eastbound. Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo checked all the way to the Burleson County line and were unable to locate the vehicle.

 

March 23, 2023

05:13 - Deputy J. Hilmo was dispatched to a residence on CR 125. An alarm company advised that the owner stated no one should be there. The residence was checked, and everything was secure.

07:56 - A caller advised that there was a truck and trailer blocking the entire southbound lane of FM 448. Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded and made contact with the driver. He advised he had someone coming to help get him off the road. The roadway was cleared.

08:32 - Sgt. Strouth spoke with a citizen over the phone about some cows that were found last week. The citizen wanted to find out if they were his missing cows. Information was taken from the citizen.

10:07 - Dime Box ISD advised they needed assistance with a student. Sgt. Strouth, Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown responded, and the student was transported the Sheriff's Office to be evaluated. A report was taken.

10:39 - A complainant from PR 7711 advised that her husband has an ankle monitor and left in her vehicle. Deputy J. Brown responded but the complainant was in Conroe. Information was taken to enter the vehicle as stolen. Conroe PD located the vehicle and took possession of it. A report was taken.

11:21 - Capt. Mastronardi requested a deputy to go out to an address on FM 180 to look into a possible stolen trailer. Sgt. Strouth responded, and information was taken.

12:25 - Deputy J. Brown was dispatched to Hwy 290 near Turkey Creek Road in Ledbetter for a turned over goose neck trailer. The trailer was picked up and reloaded.

12:27 - Sheriff Goetz sent Deputy Haman out to CR 208 to recover a skunk that was deceased and needed to be tested for rabies. The skunk was retrieved and taken to Dime Box Vet Clinic to be processed. Information was taken for a report.

13:21 - A motorist reported a piece of plywood in the roadway on Hwy 290 near the 5400 block. Sgt. Strouth located the debris and removed it from the roadway.

17:51 - Deputy Haman and Deputy J. Brown were dispatched to a reckless driver on FM 448 driving towards Giddings. The caller stated that the vehicle was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. The driver pulled over at Northrup Store. The deputies made contact with the driver, who advised she was making a phone call.

21:43 - Deputy Crenshaw conducted a security check at the Cefco in Lexington. Everything was okay.

21:57 - A motorist reported that a male driving a gray minivan pointed a gun at him while driving on Hwy 290 East traveling westbound. The minivan was last seen passing Bucees in Giddings. Cpl. West and Giddings PD checked out with the reporting party. Suspect's vehicle was unable to be located due to lack of information.

23:10 - Deputy J. Hilmo checked out with a motorist on Hwy 21 West near TxDOT.  The driver advised she ran out of gas. She was followed to Walch Store.

 

March 24, 2023

02:04 - A caller reported multiple cows in the roadway near the 1800 block of CR 208. Deputy Crenshaw and Deputy J. Hilmo located the cows and secured them off the roadway.

02:09 - Cpl. West was dispatched to Main Avenue in Lincoln for suspicious activity. The complainant stated that he saw someone on top of the storage units. The area was checked, and everything was secure. No signs of suspicious activity.

02:32 - Deputy J. Hilmo checked out with a male subject laying on the side of the roadway on Galveston Street. The subject advised he had tripped and fell but did not need EMS.

04:34 - Cpl. West and Deputy Crenshaw responded to Main Avenue again for suspicious activity. The same complainant requested a deputy to check the area again. The deputies checked the area and there were no signs of suspicious activity.

08:32 - A female subject came to the Sheriff's Office to pick up her property. Capt. Mastronardi released the property to her.

11:06 - Deputy Dickerson was flagged down by a motorist reference to a hit a run. The motorist advised that the suspect vehicle was a Toyota Camry with front end damage. The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Hwy 290. Deputy Dickerson, Deputy Ellington and Giddings PD attempted to locate the vehicle. Giddings PD located the vehicle and followed it out to Bastrop County, but lost sight of the vehicle on Hwy 21. Bastrop County was notified.

11:42 - Deputy Ellington assisted Phillips and Luckey's with a funeral escort from St. Margaret's Catholic Church to a cemetery on FM 2239.

12:02 - A caller reported a calf out on FM 696 west of Lexington. Deputy Dickerson located removed the cow off the roadway.

13:46 - A motorist reported a Toyota pickup swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 77 North. At the time of call, they were crossing into Milam County. The motorist was transferred to the Milam County.

15:39 - Deputy Webber and Lexington Chief Garza responded to a call on Hwy 77 N at Cefco. The caller reported a fuel spill in the parking lot and was spreading to the Dollar General. Lexington VFD was paged out to the scene for a cleanup...

15:46 - Dispatch received a call about a calf out on FM 1697 in the curve before CR 124. Deputy Dickerson located and secured the cow off the roadway.

16:42 - Deputy Webber attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Nissan sedan. The vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound on Hwy 77. The vehicle finally pulled into the Cefco parking lot. Deputy Webber made contact the occupants and released them.

17:21 - A resident on FM 696 East called to report her juvenile daughter missing. She stated the last time she saw her was Monday around lunch time. Deputy Dudley responded and made contact with the mother. The juvenile was located at another residence and returned home to her parents.

20:32 - Dispatch received a call about a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 77 South near CR 221. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo assisted EMS and Giddings VFD with the accident. B&M and Tillary's took possession of the vehicles. A crash report was taken.

21:12 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to the intersection of Hwy 21 and Hwy 77 to assist EMS, Lincoln VFD and Giddings VFD with a two-vehicle accident. Govan's and B&M took possession of the vehicles. A crash report was taken.

23:19 - A caller reported several head of cattle out on FM 696 East near CR 401. Deputy Dudley located the cattle and advised they ran off into a wooded area.

 

March 25, 2023

01:50 - Dispatch received a report of a one-vehicle rollover accident on FM 141. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Dudley, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo responded to the scene. EMS was paged but advised there was no patient on scene. The caller advised that a male subject was walking down the roadway away from the accident scene. Deputy Kocurek went to the address of the registered owner to possibly locate the driver. Dispatch then received a 911 call from on FM 141 stating that his uncle's vehicle had been stolen. The address was the same as on the vehicle's registration. Deputy Kocurek arrived at the residence and located the driver. He was brought back to the scene of the accident. The driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail. Tillary's took possession of the vehicle. A report was taken.

06:33 - Bastrop County advised that an 18 -wheeler was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of traffic on Hwy 290.  At the time of call, the vehicle was passing Hwy 21. Deputy Dickerson checked Hwy 290 from Giddings to Bastrop County but was not able to locate the vehicle.

 

08:12 - Smithville ER advised that a female subject was brought into the ER last night and has since been clear. There was no one to take her to her residence on PR 6025, and she had been in the lobby since midnight. Sgt. Jones was able to pick up the subject and take her back to her residence.

11:09 - Sgt. Jones came across a cow out on CR 401. The cow was secured off the roadway. 

12:36 - Bastrop County advised they received a 911 call from a complainant on Post Oak Drive that wanted to speak with a deputy. The complainant claims someone stole several items from him. They also advised that the complainant was talking fast and jumping from subject to subject. He hung up before they could transfer the call. Sgt. Jones was dispatch to speak with the complainant. No offense was committed.

13:33 - The clerk at Bubba's Truck Stop called to report an unoccupied vehicle with heavy frontend damage has been parked at the store. Deputy Dickerson responded and advised there was a note on the dash that stated the owner would be back for the vehicle sometime that day. 

15:49 - A caller reported a black cow out at the 2500 block of CR 316. Sgt. Jones checked the area but did not locate any loose livestock. 

16:45 - Deputy Dickerson came across an accident on Hwy 290 West near CR 203. A vehicle hit a deer and became disabled. A second vehicle hit the same deer. Deputy Dickerson checked on the second vehicle, which had minor damage and continued on. Deputy Dudley and Deputy Ellington arrived on scene to assist. Deputy Dudley gave the driver and passenger a courtesy ride to the 290 Travel Plaza. Govan's took possession of the vehicle. A crash report was taken.

19:22 - Dispatch received several calls about herd of cows out on FM 696 East near the Burleson County line. Deputy E. Hilmo checked the area but did not locate any loose livestock. 

19:36 - Deputy Kocurek was dispatched to FM 141 near CR 428 for a herd of goats out on the roadway. The goats were located and secured off the roadway. 

21:53 - Milam County advised of a reckless driver on Hwy 77 going southbound with no lights on. The vehicle was a truck with a flatbed that was loaded with stuff. Deputy E. Hilmo located and stopped the vehicle. Contact was made and a warning was issued. 

23:14 - A resident on CR 303 advised that three trucks were parked in her driveway but had left while she was on the phone with dispatch. The resident called back and advised the trucks returned. They were turning lights on and off on the vehicles and driving back and forth on the county road very slowly. Deputy Kocerek responded and checked the area for the vehicles. The deputy was unable to locate the vehicles, and a close patrol of the area was set in place.

 

March 26, 2023

00:59 - Several callers reported a blue SUV that was swerving on the road going westbound on Hwy 290. Deputy E. Hilmo located and stopped the vehicle on Hwy 290 at CR 226. Citations were issued. 

01:25 - Giddings PD received a call for a hit and run and needed assistance in locating the other vehicle. Deputy Kocerek located the vehicle going eastbound on Hwy 290. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was placed into custody. Giddings PD arrived on scene to take over.

04:47 - Giddings PD requested Deputy E. Hilmo for translation on a traffic stop on East Austin Street. Sgt. Holloway and Deputy E. Hilmo responded and assisted.

08:47 - Deputy Ellington observed loose livestock on CR 226. The livestock was removed and secured off the roadway.

11:11 - Sgt. Jones conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 77 south of Lexington. A search was conducted, and narcotics were found. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking. Govan's towed the vehicle to the Sheriff's Office. A report was taken.

13:08 - A complainant on CR 214 called to report that someone dumped a Husky on his property. The dog was chasing his cattle and trying to get to his dogs. He requested a deputy to pick up the dog and take it to the animal shelter. The Giddings Animal Shelter they were not taking animals from outside the city limits. The complainant then advised that dog took off to the neighbor's property. The neighbor came to the Sheriff's Office to report the dog was on his property and killed one of his rabbits. He stated that he contacted animal shelter, and they told him they were not accepting any animals from outside the city limits. He was advised to contact an animal rescue shelter out of Austin.

15:58 - Dispatch received a call about a cow out on FM 619 near the county line. Deputy Ellington checked the area but did not locate any loose livestock.

17:35 - A motorist reported a large metal object in the middle of Hwy 77 about five miles north of Giddings. Deputy E. Hilmo responded and removed the object from the roadway.

17:48 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Ellington, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to Hwy 21 at Elm Creek RV Park for a two-vehicle accident. It was reported that a vehicle pulling a 5th wheel trailer was hit by an SUV at the entrance of the park. Injuries and a possible pin in were reported. EMS, Lincoln VFD and Giddings VFD also responded. Owens took possession of unit one and B&M took possession unit two. A crash report was taken.

18:23 - A caller reported a horse that was chained up off Hwy 21 at FM 3403. Deputy Kocurek responded and spoke with the neighbors of where the horse was chained up. The neighbors advised they would turn the horse loose in the pasture.

19:29 - A motorist advised of a reckless driver on Hwy 290 west going eastbound that attempted to run her off the road. The vehicle was described as a green Jeep with a white trailer attached with no license plate. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo attempted to locate the vehicle but were unable to do so. Information was passed onto Giddings PD, but they were unable to locate the vehicle as well.

20:31 - Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo were dispatched to Hwy 21 west of FM 1624 for a three-vehicle accident. EMS and Lincoln VFD were also dispatched to the scene. One patient was transported to a hospital in Austin. Tillary's and B&M took possession of the vehicles. An investigation is being conducted. A crash report was taken.

21:20 - A complainant on Shady Oaks Street requested to speak to a deputy about her ex-boyfriend stalking her. She also advised that the ex-boyfriend stays at his brother's house on South Polk Street. The complainant has spoken to two Giddings PD officers about the ongoing problem. Sgt. Holloway called the complainant and gathered further information. The male subject came back wanted out of Giddings PD. Sgt. Holloway, Deputy Kocurek and Deputy E. Hilmo met with Giddings PD officers to take the subject into custody. Giddings PD arrested the subject and booked him into the Lee County Jail. Information was taken for a criminal trespass warning. A report was taken.
