3/11/2024

Sergeant Investigator detained an individual who fled from him. Evidence was located and the individual was released with pending charges.

Sheriff's Deputies attempted to serve a felony warrant service on West Boundary St. DPS Troopers and Giddings Police assisted at the scene. The individual was not located at the residence but was located later in the day.

Complainant from Kay St. called in to report her car stolen. Deputy responded to investigate and report.

Sergeant assisted with vehicle unlock at Giddings Travel Plaza.

Deputy responded to CR 130 to investigate a report of fence damage and vehicle parts left on scene. Report made.

Lee County Dispatch received numerous phone calls inquiring if a "Scott Williams" worked for the Sheriff's Office. He doesn't. A phone scammer was calling residents advising them they had failure to appear charges and needed to make payment. We will never do that. Hang up and then let us know.

Sergeant responded to N. Main St. for vehicle unlock.

Motorist reported two girls walking in the middle of FM 112. Deputy responded and located two students of the school on CR 309. The girls were walking a dog that they could not control. The school and parents were notified. School staff came to pick them up.

Citizen reported a suspicious vehicle in the 7700 Block of FM 141. Sergeant and Deputy located the small gray vehicle and identified the owner.

Citizen reported a male wearing red pants and black hoodie walking on CR 327 at 2:30am. Sergeant responded to patrol the area, but the subject was not located.

Citizen reported a male wearing tan coveralls walking on CR 426 near the bridge at 3:30am. Deputy located and identified the individual.

Motorist reported a one vehicle crash vs. donkey on FM 180 near PR 5015. Deputies responded to the scene.

 

3/12/2024

Deputy assisted Trooper with traffic control during an arrest on Hwy 290/Fayette Co. line.

Deputy assisted Child Protective Services with a civil stand-by on CR 314.

Motorist reported an injured small, white dog on CR 118. Deputy responded but could not locate the animal.

A resident of Collin County, TX called to inquire about "Scott Williams". Deputy obtained a "text-now" phone number of 979-316-1357. My real Deputy called the imposter, who quickly hung up. Report made.

A residence of Fort Bend County, TX called to report the same as above.

Motorist reported a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 290 at FM 180. Deputies, Troopers, Giddings Fire, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene. Crash report made by DPS.

Citizen reported a suspicious vehicle in the 7200 Block of FM 696 West. Deputy and Game Warden located the vehicle and identified the subjects.

Dispatch received report of a missing 12-year-old female from a residence on CR 405. A family car was gone but the family received word that the juvenile was headed to Houston. Dispatch pinged the juvenile's cell phone and sent Harris County Deputies to the location.

 

3/13/2024

Deputy performed a vehicle unlock.

Citizen came to Sheriff's Office to visit with a Deputy in regard to criminal trespass. The complainant provided a license plate of the suspect vehicle. Complainant did not wish to make report at this time.

Deputy performed a vehicle unlock.

Resident of Fayette County, TX called to report "Scott Williams".

Sergeant assisted a female motorist and her child who were broken down on SH 21.

Sergeant requested that Dispatch ping the phone number again, which was involved in the missing juvenile case. Sergeant coordinated with Deer Park Police who located the juvenile with her cousin. Family was notified.

Citizen reported a motorcycle on CR 226 traveling at a high rate of speed. Deputy patrolled the area, but the motorcycle was gone upon arrival. Close patrol in effect.

Citizen reported a suspicious ambulance parked near PR 7025. Deputies responded and assisted LCEMS locate the address they needed to respond to.

Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a disturbance between a male and female in the 600 Block of Seguin St. Deputies responded as Giddings PD units were handling other calls. Deputies did not locate any such disturbance.

Motorist called 911 to report a semi-truck rollover crash on E. SH 21. Deputies responded along with Lee County EMS, Lincoln VFD, and Giddings VFD. Roadway cleared. Crash report taken.

 

3/14/2024

Financial Institution contacted Dispatch to request a welfare check on a client who was on the phone with them, and they could hear yelling and screaming in the background. Deputy responded to the client's address in the 3200 Block Hwy 290 W in Paige. No one was home. Deputy was able to make contact with the individual by phone who stated he is okay and does not want police on his property.

Complainant requested a Deputy meet him at his property on Turner Lane in reference to property damage. Deputy contacted the neighbor to inquire about the arrangement to repair the fence.

Caller reported "Scott Williams" and his scam to the Sheriff's Office.

Another called reported the same as above.

Subject from New Mexico called to report the same.

Deputy assisted with traffic control for a motorist changing their tire on SH 21.

 

3/15/2024

Sergeant performed vehicle unlock for citizen on CR 208.

Sergeant spoke with an employer on FM 696 in regard to disgruntled employees.

Deputy assisted Trooper with traffic stop on Hwy 290 West. Two wanted subjects out of Washington County were arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 West. One wanted subject out of Washington County was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Motorist reported a two-vehicle crash on SH 21/CR 405. Deputy and Trooper made scene to investigate and make crash report.

Caller reported a reckless driver on 7th St. Caller reported a silver Chevy 1500 truck occupied by teenagers sped by and ran the stop sign headed toward FM 112. No Deputies in the area at the time of call.

Deputy conducted a requested welfare check of a resident on FM 141.

Deputy checked a suspicious vehicle parked at a business in Lexington.

Deputy assisted Giddings PD with a pursuit on E. Austin St.

Deputies responded to a crisis intervention welfare check on San Antonio St. The subject was located and was okay. No report.

 

3/16/2024

Sergeant responded to CR 415 West to assist citizen with a vehicle unlock.

Citizen reported two locks cut on his property at FM 141/CR 123. Deputy responded to investigate and make report.

Caller from CR 233 reported a peacock roaming her property. Game Warden reported they are domestic animals, and it likely belongs to a neighbor. Information taken.

Employee at Nails Creek State Park reported a disturbance at camp site #34. Deputies responded to the scene and stopped a truck that was attempting to leave upon the Deputies arrival. The male driver was found to have an outstanding Lee County warrant. Male subject was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop on CR 127. The male driver was found to have seven warrants out of Grimes County. The male was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Deputies responded to a one vehicle crash at SH 21/FM 141.

Deputy assisted Giddings PD with a call where it was reported that a black male subject was trying to kick-in her door at 2:50am. It was reported that the male was wearing tan pants and black shirt. Deputy searched the area; however, the subject was not located. Agency assist, no report.

 

3/17/2024

Motorist reported a road sign was knocked down on Hwy 77 near SH 21. Deputy responded to remove the sign from the roadway and TxDOT was notified.

Sergeant responded to convenience store on SH 21 for a vehicle unlock.

SO Bastrop County transferred a 911 call reporting the caller seeing a teenage female jogging on FM 696 West, and a silver car approach her and put her in the vehicle. All LCSO units and Lexington Police responded to investigate. LPD Chief checked the address from the license plate who informed they only stopped to inform the girl FM 696 wasn't a safe area to jog. Deputies located the girl and her father who are visiting from out of town. All okay.

Complainant reported that her ex-husband posted a video of him driving 70 mph with their six-year-old child in the front seat and he almost hit someone. Deputy spoke with the complainant and made a report.

Deputy responded to PR 8045 to attempt to locate a hog that was in a citizen's yard. Deputy was unable to locate the animal.

Deputy assisted Giddings Police with intoxicated male subject at Giddings Fire Dept.

Deputy conducted traffic stop on Hwy 290 West. A probable cause search yielded THC. The male subject was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail for possession of controlled substance.

 

Lee County Deputies conducted 94 traffic stops for this reporting period.

 

Lee County Schools are back in session this week after being off for spring break. Remember to obey the reduced speed limits and to stop for school buses when they are loading/unloading. Citations are non-negotiable for those type of violations.
